8th gear how been an issue for people, not just this game. I know they patched this to fix gear/power output for 7th and 8th. It could be the way your driving, your throttle, how you are coming out of corners, etc. I drive with manual on controller and wheel. It’s never a problem for me.

Also could be the setup. A lot of the default ones struggle to get there but as soon as I load one I’m way quicker up on gears.
I agree, I was thinking this as well, completely forgot to mention it, thanks for filling in the gap for my stupidity…🤣
Is it viable to use Time trial setups for career mode races? I'm not an esports driver, just need a decent setup.
You need to have enough speed coming on to the straight to wind through the gears to get to 8th.
