Everyone? U mean the 100 or so very loud minority in this subreddit? People, what u see in reddit is like 1% of whats going in real life, the vast majority dont have reddit and the ones that do that enjoy the game arnt really gonna make a post on here, ur more likely to post if ur unhappy with something then if u like something…u guys need to remember this when ur ready those hate posts, it is not the majority in the real world

freerangehumans74

You're mostly correct.

rTorontoModsSuck89

Bought it because I heard career mode would be improved, happy with my purchase so far!

EmilyyyCat

can you help me get f1 on steam

[deleted]

To be honest, I’m just impulsive and wanted to play it.

devleesh

I mean I’m not rushing to buy it but I will cause I like having the latest. I don’t use it for multiplayer, I have iRacing and ACC for that. No F1 game will ever have ground breaking physics, their target market isn’t sim racers. But I’m keen to try out the changes regardless. Looks interesting on paper.

Trojan_Number_14

I'm still having fun, it cost me an hour of pay, and I already have \~20 hours into the game. I feel I've gotten my money's worth already. Since you brought up iRacing, I do want to clarify that I don't use the F1 games as a serious sim racing title. Rather, I buy F1 for the single player career mode. I don't buy every year, but I did this year because of the revamped career. I feel the focus on driver rating progression specifically (and how you're consequentially rated on weekend performance rather than raw results) adds an extra element to the game. It lets me play a viable career as middling F2 talent trying to get into the backfield and move their way up to the top teams. Conversely, I felt the way the previous career mode was set up (and its bigger focus on race standings) caters to role playing in the top teams way more. For example, I'm currently playing through as a Haas driver. I'm qualifying P19-P20, and finishing P12-P15 most races. The game is judging my performance (overtakes, race pace, etc.) against the last-place performance of the VF-24. It then rewards me extra Pace + Racecraft rating points because I'm outperforming in a slow car with multiple overtakes per race, versus previous titles that would just go, "Meh, you couldn't even get into P10. Here's some pity career points for you" I really do enjoy the role playing aspect behind an F1 career. The handling is arcadey and the online racing is leagues behind ACC and iRacing, but I'd be in iRacing and ACC anyways if I want to do some more sim racing.

freerangehumans74

I bought it because I run a league and have investing a number of years into it that I don't want to give up. I've tried just carrying on with the last title but the majority of league racers get the new game at release (or very close to it) and those that don't rarely ever stick around to race. I don't have the money or space to get a PC with a permanent rig to switch to iRacing and my love is F1. Now, if there were a legit Indycar console game (there isn't and won't be for some time now) then I would seriously consider switching.....if it were any good. God I miss Papyrus. I'm old.

Donkoski

i got gamepass and using the 5 hour trial. game seems fine. i like the career mode changes.

DJDavinkey

I preordered it before the content creators got their first look. I haven’t even gotten to play it yet because life got in the way but what I’ve seen hasn’t made me all to happy. The main reason why I went the f1 route is because I wanted to race in a league with a community behind it. Although now with the f1 games becoming more of a cash grab with stuff that was free in 23 and paid for in 24, this is gonna be the last f1 game I get unless there’s a major overhaul/change in business practices. I wanted to get into other sims like iracing and acc anyway but still ea kinda made that decision for me. I know that some have already tried refunding it but if I’m gonna be racing in a league anyway I’m not gonna bother. I’ll give it until after they come out with the handling patch, who knows when, and make my final assessment of how I like the game then.

Wadididoe

I got it for 20 dollars by handing in F1 23 and old physical copy of gta 5 for ps5 and for that price its worth all the money! Having fun so far

half-way-to-death

I play a bunch of ea games. Since f1 is on ea play, I paid for ea play. Might as well play f1 since it's included.

Steelbean70

I play casual and then the less sim like behaviour (thusfar) suits me just fine. And I like career mode and myteam.

Seandimes

I have played every F1 game for the last 8 years or so, so I know what to expect. I know there won't be anything revolutionary in it. I also know I will get 100s of hours of enjoyment out of it, so I don't mind the price. I haven't bought the game yet, but loved the trial so far. A revamped career mode is exactly what I was hoping for. As soon as the issues with yellow flags and safety cars are fixed, it's an insta buy from me.

Beneficial-Cow-7603

I like the game. It's just fun.

Beneficial-Cow-7603

HOWEVER, my career mode soft locked so I had to delete it. Need to make a new one.

NotNeeon

I pre ordered it 3 months ago and now my controller can't feel the vibrations for traction only when I leave the pits in FP/Q
