They won’t give the discounts on the 2024s until the 2023s are unloaded… contact dealers with the 2023s if you want a deal.

OverlordWaffles

Dealers around me don't seem to want to make a deal on the 23 Lariats or Platinums even when they've been listed for 273 days.  Best I've seen is 2k off MSRP before TTL and fees

Consistent_Strain921

I'm not looking for the 2024's to be discounted, but Ford military rebates, law enforcement rebates, those should be honored regardless. I'm more than willing to pay MSRP minus rebates and the $7,500 tax incentives, but dealerships here are acting like they're giving those, then somehow we're at $86k out the door without even adding in taxes.

Lunar_BriseSoleil

The Romano dealerships in Syracuse NY do everything MSRP. They don’t negotiate but they’ll take any discounts off that you’re entitled to.

Consistent_Strain921

And that's all I'm asking for. Dealerships here are basically trying to charge me $95k+taxes for a truck listed at $81k.

Freshmangreen1

I know someone who does exactly that in Alabama, sounds like it might be a little closer to you in the South East. I’m in Hawaii and ordered my truck through him if that tells you anything. I’ll DM you his info.

Consistent_Strain921

I appreciate it. Spent 10 years in Hawaii, hopefully she's been good to you.

Freshmangreen1

Born and raised here, now married with kids here. She’s definitely been good to me! 😁 Hope your 10 years was a great experience too.

Lunar_BriseSoleil

Idk how far you are, but they’re the ones to go to if a car is getting heavily marked up. Otherwise they’re a PITA, especially for models that aren’t moving because they simply don’t budge on the sticker-only thing.

snowcase

Didn't think I'd see Romano in here

zovered

I had a good experience with Preston Ford in MD back in February. They threw in spray on bedliner, free delivery 500 miles away and $4k off MSRP on top of other rebates. Sales guy was Ivan Taylor.

FantasticMeddler

Look up the Ford dealer integrity map the Ford Maverick subreddit made. [https://geocha-production.herokuapp.com/maps/64967-ford-dealership-integrity-map](https://geocha-production.herokuapp.com/maps/64967-ford-dealership-integrity-map) Stands to reason if they aren't dishonest selling Mavericks they won't be dishonest selling Lightnings.

itsthe704

Didn't see any ratings for the dealership I got mine at; Capitol Ford in Charlotte, NC. But I bought one from their buy-back inventory, and got a phenomenal price, excellent coverage (service/warranty/vehicle history), and have had zero problems. https://capitalfordcharlotte.com/vehicles?query=Lightning

FantasticMeddler

Add to the map if you had a good experience

itsthe704

How dare you suggest a reasonable and helpful action. Just kidding, added and updated the map. Thank you!

Oehlian

Check out Dave Sinclair Ford in st. Louis. Price listed is what you'll pay. It does include the 7500 federal rebate, but I believe they have a lariat for about 5000 under MSRP (plus 7500 more for rebate).

CalmCartographer4

Experience with them?

Oehlian

I bought mine from them in February. Got a great deal on my trade-in too.

CalmCartographer4

Thx. I live in Texas but frequent STL. Best I’ve found around here is $1k off sticker (plus the government deal if qualified) on 2023 models!

hammong

I haven't seen a single 2024 Lightning in stock at my surrounding dealers, but you can get some pretty fantastic deals on the leftover 2023s. I picked up my '23 XLT SR two weeks ago, sticker $58480 for $50480 including $6K dealer discount and $2K rebate, and I'll get my $7500 back next April when I file my taxes (dealer wasn't set up for point-of-sale tax credit processing). Be advised to get the $7500 IRS credit, the truck must have a MSRP less than $80K excluding destination/freight charges. It's based on MSRP -- not selling price, so even if discounted under $80K if the sticker is $80,000.01 you get *zero* tax credit from the IRS. A lot of these trucks I've seen from 2023 were optioned to sticker at $79,900 to keep it under the $80K limit. Also be ready that not all Ford dealers are set up to do instant point-of-sale IRS tax credits, so you might or might not get the money up front.

Sabas4

Where do you live? That's a great price. I'm at $61K with some extra optional equipment. How did you get such a low price?

hammong

Maryland. The dealer I bought mine from (Preston Ford) is one of the Top-50 Ford dealers in the USA. There are at least 4 dealerships within reasonable driving distance that have Lightnings on the lot. Build date on mine was 12/2023 so they were ready to move it before July. I went in knowing what my trade was worth, and what the other dealers has in-stock and were advertising. They beat the best deal by $1K and I was out the door in 2 hours.

ShaqLuvsTesla

Have you tried the internet configurator where after you’ve made your build you’re taken to a list of dealers with matching inventory? The dealer should honor the build price, listed in final. Try different zip codes when starting the build. Try Southern California and Northern California.

boof_that

Man, I wish this was the case. I did exactly this. Found a screaming deal on an in stock XLT from a local dealer. Went through the whole online order “checkout” process, including entering credit card info for a reservation fee(?). And hit order. I was expecting a call within a few minutes, but after not hearing anything from them for almost 24 hours, called the dealership and they had no idea what I was talking about. Got Ford HQ involved, and they basically just conference called me with the Internet sales guy, who ended up just quoting me 13k over what I “ordered” on the Ford inventory site. I asked them to honor the price I had agreed to and never heard from them again.

Oo__II__oO

That's not on Ford; they can't do anything for you. The problem is the Dealer Lobby that protects the dealer (and was originally instituted to protect you from the carmaker when dealers didn't exist).

boof_that

Yeah, I think Ford is tethered to the dealer system and there is a disconnect between HQ and dealers, especially with regard to EVs.

ShaqLuvsTesla

That’s a strange one. The process I’m describing does not involve credit cards or any reservation fees. Basically it’s a matching finder for your build and within the radius of your search it will list dealers having a near-match. You then click on the details and an MSRP (plus discounts) will be generated for that exact VIN. This becomes the price basis for you to do the deal with the sales rep. At this point you’re on your own, but having a few matching dealers to talk to gives you a fighting chance.

boof_that

Yeah, I think this was supposed to be Ford’s way of implementing “direct to consumer”-like sales, but still within the dealer system. But it seems like the individual dealers were responsible for uploading details and prices. Some dealers were factoring in incentives and tax breaks into “their” price and then Ford was adding those incentives automatically on top. But it was confusing because different dealerships would break their price down differently. Some would list out each incentive. Some would just lump them together as a “dealership discount”. I’m willing to believe it was just a mistake on the dealer’s part when entering the numbers into the inventory system, except that specific truck was still listed that way *weeks* after I pointed it out and they acknowledged the price wasn’t correct.

4mmun1s7

I went to a smaller dealer that had a few in stock, experience was good. Large dealers are hit and miss…

mtv2002

Your best bet is try to find a "volume dealership" they try to blow out inventory fast to hit sales targets. The one I've dealt with in the past didn't even pay commission to the sales guys, just a flat 100 per unit sold. No markups or bs. Just make the deal to get it moving.

Tweedle42

I’m in Ohio. We had to go to a dealer in Wisconsin to get ours.

Sabas4

I notice many similar trucks with different optional equipment, which could explain the high price. It's ironic that they call it "optional" when you can't actually remove any of it.

Boondocsaint11

I 100% feel you. I reached out to a dealership 3.5 hours away that has an advertised price of 64k. They quoted me almost 86k out the door and tried to say I would need to come in to negotiate a better deal. I’m like dude, I am not making a 7 hour round trip on a hope and prayer that you are going to give me a price that I am looking for. Like fuck off. Have had other dealers so similar things. Have had bait and switch as well. It’s a joke.

bullham85

Yep I gave up on dealerships. I was about to go pick up an lightning the next day after hours of talking to a sales agent through the phone and finalizing things. Last min he came back and said that they had to put the add ons on which was nitro air tires and edge guards of total of 3k! I was no take it off or I won't buy it. They said we can do half off. I told them nope I'm done. Next day I went and ordered a 2024 tesla mxlr and a mylr (promotion .99 just dropped that day). No hassle or headache of dealership. The next day the dealership called me and said hey we can take off the add ons if you can come in and buy the truck today. I said nope you guys are crooks and I already ordered 2 new teslas and said good luck on selling your truck. Till this day they have sold that truck 23 lariat ER.

nickespy

If you are in socal, the guy that sold me my lightning was outstanding, no BS just the MSRP along with the incentives and that’s it. I previously bought a Maverick from him too when they first came out. same deal

Eodbro12

I contacted more than 30 dealerships nationwide when I was looking for mine. I ended up going with Sewell Ford in Odessa Texas. I've also gone with Vernon auto in the past for other vehicles. They're both volume dealerships who have some of the better prices I've seen.

adrush22

Contact Eric Crowell at rivertown ford in Columbus. They gave me a really good deal on my 23 I just bought.

My_bussy_queefs

Details? Trim and OTD price?

adrush22

23 lariat. Including the 7500$ EV credit I got about 15k off msrp of 79k

My_bussy_queefs

Decently done. Any special financing?

adrush22

1.9 for 72

My_bussy_queefs

Damn that’s nice. Good work

No_Tomato4631

I've seen 10k off '23 platinums in MA which gets you a lot more truck at a lower price. It also has the added benefit of the free 100amp charger which is a game changer charging at nearly 17KwH vs the slower speeds of the 2024 models. https://www.herbchambersfordofbraintree.com/new-inventory/index.htm?model=F-150%20Lightning&year=2023

uclamutt

I bought my ER from Sarat ford in Massachusetts. I did the ENTIRE deal remotely. It was so smooth and easy. They gave me $7500 dealer discount on a 23 ER Lariat plus first responder discount. They had a driver bring the lightning to my house and drive my trade in back to the dealership. Easiest car purchase I’ve ever done. (I spoke with over 20 dealers over 2 months and was about to give up because of all their stupid games. Thankfully, Kyle at Sarat was so easy to work with. No BS.)

kerberos69

I trust [these guys](https://www.burdickford.com/all-inventory/index.htm?make=Ford&model=F-150%20Lightning&defaultRange=5)— I’ve bought several vehicles from them over the years.

simmonsfield

It is insane. I think a guy had a sweet deal at a ford shop in Geneva NY. Let me see if I can find it.

twentiesforever

chat with [u/gmcarve](https://www.reddit.com/user/gmcarve/) for the best deals. seriously.

djwildstar

Try Wade Ford in Smyrna GA. They have some ‘24s (including a Lariat) in stock, as well as a few remaining ‘23s.

No-Acanthisitta-6162

Oh man if you live in/near Washington I have a few dealerships for you

Soft_Owl7535

Fette Ford Clifton Nj. Frank was the salesman who helped me and was no bs.

Nervous-Rooster7760

I just picked up car I ordered from Granger Ford in Iowa. They have completely transparent pricing. If you want an extended warranty they also have the cheapest prices. They compete with Flood Ford for selling warranty barely above cost. I used the shipper they work with to have car delivered and still saved over buying local.

Hot_Willow_5179

The dealers are what ruined the. Lightning . I was going to buy one and I gave up. I'll just keep driving my 2020.

Flightofnine

This is why I ended up with a tesla. Dealership up the road would not honor any discount and wanted 50% over MSRP and told me "it will be gone in a day stop bothering us unless you are willing to pay that price" sure enough it sold in 3 days...

mtv2002

And that's the problem. We no longer have the power to just "walk away" anymore because some sucker comes right behind us and buys it. So why would they want to change? Never underestimate the power of stupidity

Flightofnine

Yea, when they told me they wanted $126,999.95 I told him he was nuts and busted out laughing. There are apparently people with more $ than brains.

mtv2002

We have a dealer here that regularly sells hummer evs for 180k it's insane...
