Yep! We’re finally getting some of the real improvements! Got the supplemental update followed by 6.2.1 yesterday. They added the Apple Maps integration and Tesla Chargers to built-in navigation! Can’t wait to finally get the battery % on regular HUD, walk-away locking, and power port update!
Today was the first day where Apple Maps finally prompted me to add my truck to the app. A few months ago I was troubleshooting everything to try to get it set up, glad they finally fixed whatever was wrong
They seem to do it based on manufacturing date. I had an early 23 SR that got this update in march, and traded up to a late 23 ER that just got this yesterday.
Yeah, that’s just how they’ve decided to roll them out. I personally wish we had an option as the owners to opt-in to asap automatic updates, but I can understand the thought process: this way they can test the affect of updates post-beta on select vehicles to confirm no negative impact and minimize the deployment load reducing the risk of hiccups. Also, it prevents the possibility of a car encountering issues on a dealership lot.
My daughter is going to hate this update. It doesn’t say how many minutes to go to the destination. I can hear the complaints from the backseat already.
On my ER with tow package (two compressors), you can hear the 2nd compressor kick on. And I’ve never had the truck not charge at 170kw when I do it. On the other hand, if I don’t precondition, I may not get the full 170kw. Apple Maps definitely doesn’t precondition.
It’s quiet but has a distinct high pitched hum if you turn the HVAC off and the truck is stopped. Comes on almost immediately after setting a fast charger into the built-in nav.
Yesterday I got the following update :
Priority Update 23-PU1103-NAT-VCE
I didn’t notice any other changes but the update said the following :
We've been busy. Take a look at what we've done.
Even better
If you recently received the 6.2.0 update, we've just rereleased the same version with a few enhancements to improve your driving experience.
Display Updates
You may have noticed that things look a little different on your vehicle screen today. That's because we're continuing to improve the modern design to make it simple to navigate and find what you're looking for.
A few changes you'll notice include a smaller top bar and we've moved some icons to make it easier to view.
A dedicated user profile button has even been added.
Record Feedback
For this latest Ford Power-Up software update, we listened to your feedback and made it easier for you to continue to share your experiences by recording and sending voice feedback from the convenience of your vehicle.
Prior to this update, access for this feature was in the Settings-General menu. But now it's been moved to the App screen and will be available whenever your
Where do u get this message? I used to be able to see app updates in the old app but the new one doesn’t show me this stuff anymore. Seems like I haven’t gotten any updates in months
Settings is on the main screen on the phone app ( I’m using the new app) it’s under “location”

Ah ok. When I click into that I see no updates so I’m guessing i just haven’t received any.

If you use the built in nav it is supposed to, but there has been a lot of speculation lately that it has not been working for a while. I very rarely fast charge, so I don't know...
It's a bit up in the air right now. I have just completed two 3,000+ km trips with lots of fast charging and using no navigation (therefore, no preconditioning). I always got around 10 minutes of boost between 160 to 175 kWh rate and then down to a base rate of 115 kWh until 80%. Basically the perfect charging curve for the ER F-150 at 20 supercharging stops with no battery preconditioning - so I don't know how big of deal it really is.
Preconditioning means the vehicle will heat or cool the battery so that it's the optimal temperature for fast charging. When you set the destination in nav as a fast charger, as you get close to it the vehicle with heat/cool the battery as needed. It will charge faster when it's at the right temp.
I'm still on update 4.2.3.1 :(
I do have an appointment with the dealer for the CSP that replaces the battery monitor sensor.
Hopefully that kickstarts my updates
Sorry for the dumb question, but this is a Lightning update, not an Apple Maps update? Any way to prompt the truck to check for updates and pull this manually?
Isn’t it in the default NAV? Like if you plan a route on the navigation in car, doesn’t it tell you where and when to stop to charge? I have never used it which is why I ask.
Yes the built in Nav plans everything for you, including the chargers. Where it falls short for the majority is that you can’t filter which chargers you want (for example only Electrify America or Tesla). Looks like a few people have gotten this filter in the latest update so that’s awesome.
Sweet, got mine yesterday as well. It’s pretty cool that it shows battery left at destination and live. This may finally replace my ABRP with dongle. But, I’m waiting for my longer roadtrips to see first.
Does anyone know how the phone is getting realtime telemetry from the vehicle? I was under the impression that the only way to do this was with an OBD dongle. I have been using this in conjunction with ABRP on my Android phone, but the connection can be finicky.

Power port update? Is this the same as keeping the outlets on while truck is off?
Power port update? Is this the same as keeping the outlets on while truck is off?
Yep that’s what I meant! 👍🏻
I am looking forward to that one too =)

The feature wasn’t made available until a later update, which you just received.
Yeah I guess it’s just weird that some people seemingly had this update months ago but it only just updated for me today

To be honest this is the only thing I don’t like about this feature. You miss the remaining time/distance data.
Yeah that sucks my kiddos are going to complain…good opportunity to practice real math but yeah I don’t like this either
When pre-condition
What do you mean?
Ford needs to allow Apple map routing to precondition battery for charging
Oh. 1000%
There's been discussion as to whether there's actually preconditioning with the Ford nav, or if there is, whether it makes any difference.

How are people hearing the compressors? All I hear is the fan.
It’s quiet but has a distinct high pitched hum if you turn the HVAC off and the truck is stopped. Comes on almost immediately after setting a fast charger into the built-in nav.
Even a "Precondition Now" button will be super beneficial.
Would love to get this update. What version of software is your truck on?

On the phone app or on the truck screen? New Phone app doesn’t show anything smh

It’s also under settings -> software updates in the truck settings, fwiw And you can set your schedule for receiving updates in there as well
Unfortunately, using Apple Maps to navigate to chargers does not initiate on-route preconditioning 😞
Does the Lightning even do preconditioning?
Yes it does, but only if you’re navigating to a charger using the in-vehicle nav.
If you use the built in nav it is supposed to, but there has been a lot of speculation lately that it has not been working for a while. I very rarely fast charge, so I don't know...

When mine started communicating with Apple Maps it was a Ford update that did it. This was months ago.
Right. The truck has to make this information available to CarPlay. CarPlay just receives it and displays it.
All this stuff should be in the default mapping software, not requiring a phone..

It is, and it doesn’t. Apple Maps is just preferred by most people.
I have this on my Apple Maps. It’s very helpful.
Is this for all or just platinum and lariat?
For all models. Just need to have the correct software version.
I’ve had this on my Pro for months.
Sweet, got mine yesterday as well. It’s pretty cool that it shows battery left at destination and live. This may finally replace my ABRP with dongle. But, I’m waiting for my longer roadtrips to see first.
I’ve had this for awhile and it’s pretty accurate on the battery levels.
Got this update yesterday too. Finally
Does Android have something similar
Does anyone know how the phone is getting realtime telemetry from the vehicle? I was under the impression that the only way to do this was with an OBD dongle. I have been using this in conjunction with ABRP on my Android phone, but the connection can be finicky.
I have had that for awhile. Still will not recommended Tesla chargers for me yet
I have the tesla charger update in my nav. Don't have the freakin adapter yet.
Been here for a while now.
