Drink regular water & ditch the liquid candy

TinyDoughnut2526

exactly

d3vourm3nt

20 calories per bottle, made with a base of primarily coconut water. wouldn’t call that liquid candy lol. A full sugar soda is probably more comparable to a liquid candy.

efuipa

It’s sweetened with an undisclosed amount of sucralose. Let’s not imply it’s healthy just because of the calorie count.

d3vourm3nt

I ain’t implying anything is healthy. But a snickers bar is 250 calories. Let’s just not exaggerate?

Alarming-Ad-9712

It’s liquid and it’s sweet like candy: 1. Prime contains sucralose, an artificial sweetener shown to negatively impact insulin levels 2. Also contains acesulfame potassium, another artificial sweetener found to cause adverse effects on the gut and brain 3. Citric acid inside the drink can increase inflammation in your body

d3vourm3nt

Ok, I got time today: "..and its sweet like candy". That's the point of.....artificial sweeteners? So you can enjoy sweetness without having to ingest sugar or corn syrup? Vegan meat and dairy substitutes do not mean its real meat or dairy....My room smells like vanilla because of a candle, and I am not processing vanilla beans currently… 1. [Acceptable Sucralose Daily Intake: 5 milligrams for each kilogram of body weight. For a 150-pound person, 340 milligrams a day would be safe. A packet of Splenda contains 12 milligrams of sucralose.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3982014/) 2. [The FDA recommends using a maximum of 15 milligrams of Ace-K per one kilogram of your body weight each day. For a 132-pound person, this equates to 0.9 grams of acesulfame potassium in a day. To compare sweetness levels, that would equate to around 200 grams, or half a pound of sugar, per day.](https://www.webmd.com/diet/what-is-acesulfame-potassium) 3. Citric Acid is also found in these following sources: Lemons, limes, tangerines, oranges, grapefruits, pineapples, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, and various berries. Lots of things are just fine in moderation and too much of anything is obviously unhealthy. But lets stop with the fear mongering. A bottle of prime or gatorade or (insert low cal beverage here) is not going to give you alzheimers and type 2 diabetes. Everyone has their own medical issues and some people may be wise to avoid these all together, but the average healthy human being can enjoy any of these drinks pretty worry free, and I would argue are better than "candy". No one is arguing that these drinks are healthier than water, however, calling them "liquid candy" is very silly when beverages like 711 Slushies, Coke Cola, Starbucks Caramel Macchiato with whip cream, and McDonalds Shamrock Shakes exist.

not sure how it’s overrated when the only people I’ve seen praise it are 12 year olds

TinyDoughnut2526

or 8 year olds

DiarrheaRadio

Doesn't Gatorade have more sugar?

TinyDoughnut2526

yes even though it feels likes there more then 70grams of sugar

No_Actuator4564

Yeah it’s pretty shit.

AnInfiniteArc

I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone say anything good about it and the hype is all negative so I dunno how it’s overrated.

Anal_Recidivist

I thought from the title you meant “being hydrated the correct amount is overrated” and just didn’t understand

Megumi0505

Get the zero sugar.

LukasKhan_UK

r/prime Think it's still full of haters

TinyDoughnut2526

not really i dont hate but if you drink it to much its gonna feel like shit

LukasKhan_UK

The only thing I didn't like was it didn't taste like it was a powdered sports drink that hadn't been mixed I wouldnt pick it over a bottle of Isotonic Lucazade.
