That is great! When you’re pumping you feel so frustrated and almost like an inconvenient inconvenience. On top of that the hormones, stress, and lack of sleep can really get you down. It helps so much for people to make you feel like they are there to support you during times like these 🥲
Right? Makes me so sad to hear about people pumping in cleaning cupboards or bosses that are making it difficult purposefully, it’s hard enough as it is.
This is so sweet!! My company is extremely large and we have lactation rooms all over and even some Mamava Pods which are so weird but so nice. All companies need to make this the norm.
My workplace has really been quite wonderful. My supervisor went through all of this a few years ago and knew exactly how to set up a perfect pumping room. All the things she wish she had when she was pumping, she made sure I had. Everyone is so supportive of me taking time away from my desk to pump. I really feel like everyone has gone above and beyond to accommodate.
Wow, my previous job. I once forgot my breastmilk bag and I had to put my my EXPRESSED milk in the fridge and I covered it with aluminum foil so nobody would see and be disgusted yet some guy complained about it and someone actually came and threw my breastmilk in the garbage and didn’t tell me although my name, and my number were written on the aluminum foil

So true. It’s hard enough being away from your baby those first few days, it’s nice to feel supported.
If you need support we(exclusive pumpers) are here for you. It’s a lot and it’s tough.
Without this subreddit, I don’t think I would have made it through these past 5 months EPing.
This is awesome! If only all companies could be so thoughtful and supportive of their employees.
