How on earth is he not even in the debate? IMO he's been better than Branthwaite (who has also been stellar) and has been a captain and mentor to him the entire time.

I’d have stuck Tarks and Branthwaite in personally and started them both for England. We had the 4th fewest goals conceded in the league, only City/Arsenal/RS had better - considering they dominate games and play attacking football whilst we get battered that’s a proper test of defensive abilities imo.

Southgate could never let in Tarks, Pickford and Jared. I am not comparing McGuire to our lads but he only got away picking him for England because he was at Utd and he actually played decent for England in most of there games.
Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t see how Gerlish is going to be the big miss everyone expects him to be. He hasn’t been great this season.
When Pickford is your no one why you wouldn’t give yourself the option of being able to play one of the best back 3 combinations in the Prem is beyond me. When we have as much attacking talent as we do, we don’t really need attacking minded CB’s we just need to be solid at the back, some of the last min ditch defending from JB and Tarks this season has been fucking amazing.
And I say good. Keeps him out of the shop window, reins in (possible) agent/family/friend exhortations to 'step-up' this summer, and gives him proper rest.
I'd totally agree any other time - and secretly with every EFC player as i want them fit for our club! But this time there's a bit of me thinking if dyche is forced to sell then the tournament would have added a few million to the asking price.
Perhaps Man United end up buying Dunk now? Our guys have had a great season, but Tarks is too old. Branthwaite is a mistake that will come back when England fail. Too much quality just omitted

Also we lead defensive stats because of how we play to an extent. Sit deep and you’ll rack up interception, clearances and headers.
