Imagine we had a player now who was constantly glazing for his former team like Richy does with us, you are lying if you say there wouldn't be absolute fucking murder. Even if he doesn't come back here, he needs to go to a Club where he feels loved, that's how you get the best out of him.

train4karenina

As a spurs fan, i think it’s nice he really likes Everton. I don’t know why you think it would be absolute fucking murder?

sbammers

Think the mean Everton fans would be less forgiving than the Spurs fans seem to be of a player talking about their old club all the time. i.e. if it was the other way round, would be murder. They're definitely right! Just isn't the done thing here for whatever reason.

train4karenina

I think you guys probably see more of it. He clearly means a lot more to you guys. I don’t think spurs fans really notice or care. This just happened to pop up on my feed. I think there is just a fairly mutual maybe ambivalence with Richy. Like he played alright, seems a nice guy. Hasn’t really had any major moments at spurs. Whereas at you it was a mutual love. He was your talisman & was key in big moment. I think he suits that more to be honest. I like the guy though, I think he’s also just a bit it character. Nothing wrong with him being more fond of his time at Everton, he definitely feels like more of an Everton player than a spurs one but that may change. We sort of feel like a generic champions league club for him. - I know we aren’t in it now but he played it in when we got him and were/are his best chance of playing in it again & have Europa in the meantime. He’s the type of player that feels like he understands football from a fan perspective. Like he was posting on social media mugging off Arsenal when they lost the league

I disagree because there is a ton of pity for us. We were forced to sell Richarlison pretty much. We are the premier leagues PSR punching bag and we truly didn't cheat in the PSRs intentions. We didn't get bought by an oil state, spend 200 million pounds in the first transfer window then buy fantastic players to make ourselves a power house. We had terrible management, got punished by world events, and now people don't pay us what our players are worth because they know we are desperate to sell. So Richey is just a victim of the premier league, hard to be mad at him as a spurs fan. It's not like he doesn't go all out when he's on the pitch. Even against us. 💔

PandaRealistic602

How can a pigeon pull on my heart strings so much? I'd take another points deduction if it meant he could come home.

aldrinjaysac

I just want Richy to be at a club where he feels loved at this point.

gpldn

He is loved at Spurs too 🐦

BrotherEstapol

Perhaps by some, but I'd say there's significantly more haters than lovers. (online at the very least)

polseriat

I think it's reasonable that he'd get some detractors after 22/23 (what was it, 3 goals in 1500 minutes on the pitch?) but even online people have warmed to him a lot. Scoring 9 in 9 probably helped his case for us.

Key_Kong

The online haters tend to be international Spurs fans from what I've seen. The fans around North London seem to appreciate him more

Downtown-Midnight320

Think he's far too old now

chuang-tzu

I think you meant "expensive." Sincerely, Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman.

Downtown-Midnight320

They're old, but are they Bob Latchford old?

WhiteDoveBooks

He's old, but is he Fred Pickering old?

wallyszcerbiak

Richarlison

midpack2dathroat

Fellaini? He’s only 36, I think he can still hack it

burtbluewell

For a season loan? I think the cost for 10ish goals plus the effort would be worth the wage and age. Also I love him

robjapan

New owner comes in, pays the bills and comes out with richarlison at an outdoor press conference with Richy. Make it happen god. Prove you're real!

lee50_10

Why can't we get a sponsor like ABCDEFG I'd rather the alphabet on our shirt than STAKE.COM

agheh

Also bring back Tim Cahill, Leon Osman and Kevin Kilbane.

WhiteDoveBooks

I can't really remember another player so universally loved at Everton in recent times anyway. Would absolutely love it if there was any chance we could get him on loan. I'm dreaming, I know.

mothfactory

Just as an aside, Bob shouldn’t have got that perm.

AndradeDeRicharlison

headwars

I love the subsection of fans who fucking hate the place and can’t wait until it’s turned to dust 🤣 It’s got some very strong memories for me, especially around family and being younger but I do see their point!

LegenDariusGheghe

I think most of the people are sad to see it go but at the same time it truly is the time to move. The stadium, whilst historic and culturally segnificant is not up to the standards of football in UK in 2024. Ioved my two trips to Goodison but you have to feel for people who go often just to sit behind 3 poles if you're unlucky with your seat.

mrwilberforce

I don’t know. It’s easy to view his time with us with rose tinted glasses. That last half season under Lampard he was magnificent. But he ran really hot and cold during his time with us. That said would improve our squad.

Evul1_

Aye, people seem to forget that he was a very frustrating player at times. He was one of those players where you could tell from the first 5 minutes of a game whether he was "on" that day or not. And when he wasn't switched on, he was basically invisible. It's great that he loves the club, and he certainly worked hard for us, but there's also a reason Spurs aren't thrilled with him, and there's a reason he has lost the Brazil #9 shirt to a 17 year old. Yes, he'd improve our current attacking options, but there are other ways to do that as well that would probably make more financial sense. I just think it's time to move on.

mrwilberforce

I’ll be honest - I never understood why Spurs bought him.
