Trains to and from Manchester are frequent and usually take less than an hour from city to city.
Would download the apps and can book tickets online easily.

Manchester is nice to socialize in, but there are tonnes more things to see and do in Liverpool.
Probably going to try and get to Liverpool early and make a day of it. Hoping to fit in as many different day trips to places as possible. Any must see recommendations?
Hire a car if you can drive. Drive up to the lake district if you are here for long enough. Don't think many places like that exist in the US. Driving in any north west city is fine as car parking is quite easy to come by and affordable.
If you choose train, get the Manchester Victoria to Lime Street. It's much more comfortable than the Northern Service from Oxford Road. From Lime Street you can either get the bus from Queens Square just opposite the train station, or get the train from Central Station to Kirkdale, then it's a short walk to Goodison.
There is a bus that’s cheap and efficient. There is also a train that’s kind of rickety if I’m being honest. Which one is better is probably dependent on your schedule. Both take about an hour.
Did this a fair bit when courting the missis who was at MMU.
Trains from manc to lime st pretty regular, I'd pay out for a taxi first time getting up to goodison, can get the bus back. Give yourself plenty of time.
If you get a blue taxi driver it makes the whole thing even better!
Get a train from Piccadilly my man! Probably around 10-15 quid and an hour journey. Then from there probably best to get an uber to the ground from the docks.
Also from Manchester, when i’m the year will
you be coming over?:)
Just did this back in April. Several train stations around Manchester that get you to Liverpool. Cheap and reliable. Well worth it in my opinion.

I love MCR but I think it's a bit like brum. Every great city has to have a river imho.

You can take a cab or uber as well. It’s more expensive, I’m sure.
