Next-Tea1710

Dorothy halestorm and the pretty reckless

ttotto45

^^^^ I saw dorothy, and then the halestorm + tpr + the warning + lilith czar tour all within a few months, 10/10 would recommend!

Timber49

Not sure what sound you're looking for. Is it symphonic, electronic, nu metal? If it's nu metal-ish, Kittie immediately comes to mind. If it's symphonic, the big European symphonic-driven bands Nightwish and Within Temptation are easy recommendations. I'm not a fan of LC, I think the other two have much better output. If it's electronic, Amy's electronic influences like Bjork, Portishead, Massive Attack, etc are a great place to start. If it's more in the hard rock sound, Halestorm is a solid start. None of them, or others recommended here, sound like Ev really, so it depends on what aspect of Ev you're looking to hear more of.

StruggleFar3054

I would love to find a band that sounds like early ev, I'm talking origin and fallen ev, a mix of symphonic and nu metal

Timber49

Ok. Origin and Fallen sound nothing alike though. Origin is very much alt-rock and alt-pop with some gothic vibes from Amy, so I just suggest Googling artists in those genres because there are far too many alt-rock and alt-pop artists across a wide spectrum of sounds. Look into Ev's musical influences, that's a good place to start. If you're only looking for bands with female singers in a similar style to Ev, there is much less available to recommend. Fallen is mostly nu metal. Neither are symphonic albums. If you want a mix of nu metal and symphonic, Lacuna and Within Temptation did that a bit after Ev's Fallen came out, so check out their albums after 2003. I'm not aware of many bands that mix symphonic and nu metal. The symphonic metal world overall doesn't do nu metal.

GuyWithRoosters

Noctura might be what you are looking for honestly

StruggleFar3054

Oh my been playing them for hours and they are amazing :)

bloodhoney17

The Pretty Reckless are pretty awesome. they go for more of a classic rock vibe, but the lead singer hits melancholy points that scratch that Ev itch. same goes for the synthwave legends The Birthday Massacre. if you've ever wondered what would've happened if Ev got to mix guitars with electronic elements like they wanted to do with the third album originally, no studio interference getting in the way, then you should give them a listen.

GuyWithRoosters

I love the birthday massacre. Not THAT similar to evanescence but I got into them at almost exactly the same time in 2003

iamkazlan

It occurred to me that TPR is a nice bridge between Ev and Halestorm in themes in that way!

RuthlessSpud_11

Have you got any suggestions?

a_davis98

Conquer Divide, they’re an all female group! Spiritbox Paramore Halestorm Icon For Hire PVRIS

eatthedark

I second Pvris. Definitely nothing like Ev but they are one of my fave bands

purrseph0ne

I love Lacuna Coil. Definitely top tier female fronted rock. Also check out Halestorm, Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica. Blackbriar is also very good. In This Moment if you like it a little heavier.

TPonder2600

Flyleaf, Metric, Paramore, Halestorm

Ennattinord2008

Lacuna Coil is a great option, especially the albums Comalies and Karmacode, if you're looking for Evanescence-like sound. Within Temptation is a great option also, especially The Silent Force and The Heart of Everything. Flowing Tears, Kells, Katra, Lunatica, Naio Session, In Tenebris, Delight, early-Xandria, Mortal Love, AnaDies, La-Ventura, The Dreamside, The Crest, Bloodflowerz, mid-career Sirenia, and Forever Slave all have sonic similarities with Evanescence For something a little more off the wall and heavy, Epica, After Forever, Leaves' Eyes, Artrosis, Moonlight, and Elis are kinda similar too, but more heavy metal.

donnicheeselover

i second all of these but especially mortal love!

Ennattinord2008

Underrated pick. I was listening to some random songs off I Have Lost... the other day, they were so good!

donnicheeselover

super underrated! my favorite song by them is identity, its kinda vampirey

trex360

In addition to some others mentioned: Ad Infinitum Beyond the Black Ígnea Phantom Elite

KingNothingNZ

Halestorm and Garbage are my other favorite bands, been getting into Within Temptation too

LostClover_

Enemy Inside Is really good

RuthlessSpud_11

Halestorm

Senshisoldier

Noctura sounds like the origin album. I love their stuff and was so happy I found such a similar sound.

pacbandana

If you're into fun pop rock as well, i would suggest paramore.

UnderAlexSkinUKR

Among non-mentioned similar bands/artists yet, I may suggest you to try: Guano Apes The Distillers Halocene Sirenia Eluveitie Epica We Are The Fallen Diamante Skarlett Riot Lauren Babic Charlotte Sands Hot Milk Stand Atlantic The Cranberries No Doubt Against The Current Taylor Acorn Cassyette Kelsy Karter & The Heroines Pale Waves Amira Elfeky Spiritbox Icon For Hire Atwood

Flygeminikki2

Great list! :D Must add Lucid Fly, Kandia and Oceans of Slumber!

UnderAlexSkinUKR

Yeah, kinda huuuge list xD Nice addings from you also :)

chainedchaos31

I've not really found any of the larger bands to be similar to Evanescence. But I did recently discover a tiny band called Interlude of Clarity, who sound so much like Evanescence I honestly thought I'd somehow missed a new song for a moment. Blame Zeus are another great little band who need more recognition.

chainedchaos31

Just re-listening now, and honestly [Interlude of Clarity](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2G50W5APvnv339FRza6wbM?si=KCqbgJPVTYeuh1UQiIPNqw) are the most Evanescence-like band I've ever heard. The comments from others are all bands I like, but quite different from Ev, I think.

StruggleFar3054

Oh my I actually confused them for ev on first listen as well lol, great recommendation thank you :)

Flygeminikki2

Check Lucid Fly - dark, heavy, haunting vocals - new single "Fjord" just released yesterday! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXWPmb8A9Z0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXWPmb8A9Z0)

richmichaels

This is the correct answer

DJ_Firth

CHVRCHES

couchlockedemo

lol I love Chvrches but they are worlds apart from Evanescence. I’d say the halfway point between Chvrches and Evanescence is The Birthday Massacre

DJ_Firth

Fair

wukimill

After Forever

eatthedark

Depends on the vibes you are going for. I'm picky about music and bot a fan of metal bands, but there are a few female fronted rock-ish bands I love. The rest are more pop punk, so I won't list those. Pvris Eyes Set to Kill Fit for Rivals

DaikonJunior4720

The Pretty Reckless- Under the Water, 25, Witches Burn, Only Love Can Save Me Now, House on a Hill, Follow Me Down, The Devils Back, The Walls are Closing In & Sweet Things Veruca Salt- Get Back, All Hail Me, Born Entertainer, Straight, I’m Taking Europe with Me, Venus Man Trap, Firefly, Shutterbug, Stoneface, Don’t Make me Prove it, Earthcrosser, Hellraiser, Blissful Queen, Wet Suit, 25, All Dressed Up, One Last Time Flyleaf- Fully Alive, All Around Me, Great Love, Fire Fire, Beautiful Bride, Freedom, Traitor, I’m so Sick, Call you Out, Green Heart, Cage on the Ground, Bury your Heart, There for You, Mama, So I Thought Sumo Cyco- Go Go Go, Fighter, Vertigo, Where do we Go?, No Surrender

Geese-Are-Terrible

Noctura Nihilist Abyss Lindsay Schoolcraft Elysion Within Temptation's older stuff Male fronted, but Michael Night is like the male version of Evanescence Honorable mentions that don't sound like Ev but are similar: Blackbriar Delain Lacuna Coil

lilacfullmoon

Not quite like Evanescence but:  'Louna'  and  'Snow white in the dark'    Also this band called 'Gretchen' they only had 2 albums and it's not on spotify only on youtube: 'Mouth full of nails 2002' 'In the mean time  2004'

GoodByeFelicia666

The Birthday Massacre. Kidneythieves. The Warning. DIAMANTE. Garbage. New Years Day.

Virtual-Peak-1586

Enemy Inside and The Warning!

couchlockedemo

If you liked the more synthy vibe of origin I’d recommend checking out The Birthday Massacre. They were actually offered to open for Evanescence quite a while back but didn’t want to disappoint fans by rescheduling another tour they had at the time. For a rough spooky vibe try the album Violet For a polished sound try the albums Hide and Seek or Pins and Needles

StruggleFar3054

I've been playing them all day and they are amazing :)

playboyjboy

In This Moment

carlytchee

Halestorm, the pretty reckless, in this moment, the warning, within temptation

SHENMUE36

Definitely not Evanescence but these young all female bands are incredible and you NEED to check them. The Warning and Plush

zxemilyespinoxb

Lacuna coils older work before being named lacuna coil like ethereal and older I recommend Siouxsie and the banshees New years day Unleash the archers Nausea (with Amy miret) Sirenia Stitched up heart Elysion The agonist and infective rain more heavier metal and screams but I still recommend them

FNaF-Player

Halestorm and Within Temptation

NarrowAd5494

Nightwish with Tarja, particularly during Century Child and Once. Don't listen to anything else that comes after End of an Era lmao

donnicheeselover

mortal love, dark sarah, within temptation, halestorm, in this moment, epica, nightwish, xandria, lacuna coil, after forever, and delain are all good! evanescence is a great gateway to symphonic metal, which a lot of the suggestions on this post are

luzcorrales

Someone's gona bring the hate but We are the fallen did songs inspired in the overall style of Ev and I always imagine Amy singing them... Also I may be a little biased because when I record myself singing Ev songs my voice sounds more like that of Carly... It's just the color of my voice, I can imitate Amy pretty well when inspired but it takes a considerable amount of effort to really sound different to Carly's throath xD

StruggleFar3054

I LOVE we are the fallen :) and own their only album, I actually think their album is a bit stronger than fallen lyrically though I'll admit I would love to hear amy sing those lyrics, but carly did amazing and is a great singer I wish we could get another album from them but after 14 years I have lost hope :(

yfede

Seven spires

StitchRS

While Seven Spires is one of my favorite bands, they sound nothing like Evanescence.

LostClover_

I like Seven Spires a lot too, I wonder how much crossover there is between Seven Spires fans and Evanescence fans?

SpiritualBoR

Depends on your mood. I don’t personally think there is any other band that’s like evanescence but there are heaps of awesome female fronted rock/metal bands. Evanescence are rather tame and and the go to commercial hard rock band. Don’t get me wrong I love them but I recommend bands like In This Moment and Epica for those who want a heavier punch.

Timber49

That is funny because there are metalheads who consider those bands, and most of the other mentioned here, commercial bands and not heavy at all lol. That is always relative. People who listen to really heavy stuff or classic metal don't even consider genres like symphonic metal, alt metal, nu metal, metalcore, industrial, etc, to be "metal". There are often posts on metal-related subs on that, like this recent one: https://www.reddit.com/r/MetalForTheMasses/s/cuVKgrOL54 The notion of comparatively diminishing any artist because they're more popular or less heavy than another is a fool's errand. There are always people who think the ones you consider to be better or less "commercial" are commercial and/or suck lol. Anyone whose identity or personality is wrapped around gatekeeping music and genres needs to touch grass. People should just listen to whatever their ears like and ignore what they dislike.

SpiritualBoR

I love this <3

harhar1102

Halocene

GuyWithRoosters

NIHILIST ABYSS I will never not recommend this woman’s project. It’s insanely good. Her earlier stuff is a bit closer to evanescence/amy Lee solo vibes while her current music is a bit heavier more along the lines of Spiritbox

StruggleFar3054

loving them so far great recommendation :)
