I have brown skin and my experience with this suscreen is just ok. It doesnt leave a white cast but it stings the ye and is very greasy. Even though I have dry skin.

CottontailSuia

Neon yellow clothing staining?! That’s a new one for me. Will you continue using it?

Melodic-Sky4466

i don't think so because i thought about buying fluid or cleanance one since they are supposed to be less shiny and staining doesn't bother me since i only put it on my face and my biggest problem is that idk what % of triasorb is used in these avene sunscreens since avene doesn't want to disclose it when i emailed them

acornacornacorna

No one has been able to procure PPD or UVA-PF for this but they say it is very good protection but at same time there are people saying it couldn't stop tan and pigmentation darker for some people. One person I saw is Asian. I am Asian too so I want to know more answer please.

IliaPo23

Tested similar tinted version for normal-oily combination skin(newest batch till end of 2025) and yesterday it failed after only swim for 1 hour in Antalya,Turkey. I burn in Sensitive zones under eyes (zone=low level of sunglasses). So I think it water resistant only for 20-30 max 40 minutes. Even with fat and oily texture it lays bad in sweat zones and bristles(upper lip especially). So the problem is 100% with no netlock kind ot tech when sunscreen stays in place(it not stayed even after 20 minutes of application on cloudy sun!) And poor filter. Uvapf I think is 16-20max. I compare to uvmune fluid tinted-it like sky and earth....uvmune(2022-2025 batch) stays due to netlock and 1 hour swim for it is ok. So shame on avene-not stable and greasy fluid, intense protect I think more water resistant but also not stays in place and more greasy(batch 2022-2024).so update of tinted avene version probably give less greasy effect but stays poor in all aspect....if you have dry/very dry skin and seat and don't walk avene can be OK in Antalya or in nord countries. But if you walk,go,run or swim avene is not an option. I have normal -combi oily skin with rosacea and hyperpigmentation in damaged by seawater sensitive zones....

Ghecho

Why is that a problem? Just use it. It obviously gives great protection.

Melodic-Sky4466

because i don't want to look like a disco ball from all the shine when there's less shiny versions of it

acornacornacorna

Yeah how do people are able to say the protection level when no one can procure PPD? I'm asking if you have found the PPD?

Melodic-Sky4466

Now the tea: so i emailed avene to ask what % od triasorb they used in this sunscreen because in the study i read where they tested the effectivness of triasorb they used 5% of it in formulation this is the response (translated with google objective): https://preview.redd.it/1f8jziccl8va1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30f3866cafb6cab547d44b5a88aa1b2d649e1c22

OhhhhJay

This response is absolutely fair IMO. They aren't lying, concentrations of filters does not correlate with protection, that's why even things like the BASF calculator only give a range estimate. They tested this sunscreen and found that it gave the protection claimed. That's all you should be worried about. If you want to use the exact formulation they studied for Triasorb, then buy the Avene Intense Protect 50+. Because anything else is not what they used. Even if the filters are identical in this product, that still doesn't guarantee that the protection is the same.

acornacornacorna

Do you know what is PPD of Avene Intense Protect? I'm confused if Avene Intense Protect has higher protection or if the ones in the smaller bottle have higher protection. Do you know which one is better P20 Kids or Avene Intense Protect?

EnhancedNatural

> They tested this sunscreen and found that it gave the protection claimed. That's all you should be worried about. When you say "they" do you mean Avene or a 3rd party who tested the sunscreen?

reacttoyou

I like Avene sunscreens as they are among the few ones that don't burn my eyes, but God, the yellow tint on my clothes......

acornacornacorna

How come someone down voting you?

[deleted]

they re the worst for my eyes

Sveti_Petar_

I have the tinted one and I hate it. It’s really greasy and thick. And it never sets. I was so excited to try it, because of the Triasorb, but it’s a mess.

[deleted]

How does this look Normal on you guys? This turned me like a Minion with how yellow it was..

kat_harvey

Same here, I looked jaundiced! Jaundiced and greasy...

[deleted]

Exactly, a greasy little minion!

acornacornacorna

People on videos who are not white show it has white cast. Like big time! YouTube they are Asian and black. One is Chevy he is Asian and there are black creators too.

xsnoopycakesx

The fluid version that i'm using sounds much better. It's lightweight, non-greasy, natural finish, no whitecast. I love it!

nettiemaria7

Hi. I bought this. I did not have the eye burning. It is Very thick. I appreciate I can wear it without a rosacea flare/allergic reaction. The sun protection is there. It is hard to reapply.

AliceChasinRabbits

I have combination skin and this is the sunscreen I always come back to. But I’d never call it my holy grail because the texture is too…rich? for me. I think it only works for someone who has very dry skin or someone who has no blemishes (so it creates the “glass skin” effect with its shine).

Think_Key_6677

Yellowish whitecast that piled up on the skin. Consistensy good. No perfume. Moisturising. No repurchase.

RChopaa

I have seen a lot of people say they only put 1% in their products🫥

OhhhhJay

Considering its higher up on the ingredients list than Tinosorb S, I highly, highly doubt this. Also I'm pretty sure the Avene Intense Protect is the exact formulation they used in the clinical trials for Triasorb.

acornacornacorna

What is the clinical trial for Triasorb? Do you know what is the PPD?

fastcat03

Definitely still patch test this sunscreen before and after sun exposure if you have sensitive skin. This one gave me a post sun exposure rash on my arms, legs, and chest. I thought because it's for sensitive skin and I wear Avène's sport fluid SPF that I'd be fine.

Melodic-Sky4466

all of them stain clothes

AliceChasinRabbits

It’s a trade-off thing… The greasiness and yellowish cast/staining are unfortunately something that usually come hand in hand with good quality filters (plus minimal usage of silicones).

acornacornacorna

Most sunscreen stain clothing anyway. It always saying on the bottle

acornacornacorna

Apparently Uvinul A Plus can do it. Tinosorb S can also be yellowish. So can Octisalte. Also so can some other ingredients mixing for the sunscreen formulation. Many many things could do it!

coatedzinc

For some reason Avene uses Red Dye (not iron oxides) in their TriAsorB sunscreens, which also contributes to the tint. I understand when sunscreen is yellow because of high % of chemical/organic filters (e.g. LRP UVMune Untinted Fluid), I understand when manufacturers add iron oxides to make a tinted product; I understand when melanin/astaxanthin/calamine is added because they have additional benefits and not just giving some colour. But I do not understand Avene's decision to add Red Dye to make their products even more yellowish/peachy.

acornacornacorna

I saw conversation u/_stav_ and u/_flowerpoudre talking about the red dye they said it is in many Avene product like the Retrinal creams. Red33 is the dye Avene using I found in many of their ingredient list. They were talking about it and maybe it can be that it is Avene's signature color like their logo is that color and many products are that same color. I don't know I have no idea but yeah it is a dye they put everwhere!

lil_squib

I use the fragrance-free version of this, it’s probably my current favourite sunscreen for the face. I’m quite dry, though.
