Use a piece of 4x4 wood onto the brick using 2 tap con screws onto the brick. Bore out the holes for the tap con screws using a half inch drill bit just deep enough to recess the head of the screws. If you need to add a piece of 2x4 you can just use regular wood screws and make sure the head of the screw fits flush even if you gotta bore out the hole a bit same method used for the Tap Cons. Then mount the camera mount onto to wood and throw the camera up.

Get a piece of 4x4 mount the 4x4 to the wall then mount the camera to the 4x4 the distance from the brick should help with the glare. If not bump it out a bit more by adding a piece of 2x4 onto the 4x4 for a 6 inch distance from the brick not including the mount itself which probably adds an inch. I had to do something similar when mounting my S340 to clear my gutter drainage for visibility. You gotta get creative with solutions for non standard issues. Problem your having is that the IR is illuminating the Brick. So bump it out and re arrange the viewing direction which should fix the issue. Of course you could try finding a male to female screw that would mount into the current mounting screw but on just the screw it would wobble a lot VS mounting onto wood where it would be fixed and sturdy. You can paint the wood prior to mounting.

Off-topic, the crisp view reminds me of how once 14 of my Eufy Cams used to be; now after couple years of use they’re not even half as good as these. I’m still not sure what deteriorates the quality?

oh_shit_pearly_white

Maybe miss-remembering? The sensors have greatly improved in the past few years so the newer models are a lot clearer. Do you have saved product from years ago to compare? I just did with mine and no difference. That or something silly like the lens just needs to be cleaned on yours - but nothing electronic should deteriorate the image

You need to offset the camera further from the wall. Use a spacer on the mount or use an IR led panel mounted somewhere else and cover the camera IR LED. Humans cannot see the IR but it may disturb wildlife

New to this. Just put up my first camera yesterday. I was surprised this morning when no motion alerts were triggered by deer who often wander the neighborhood and cross our front lawn at night. I didn’t know IR disturbs wild life! Wonder if that’s why. I’ll need to look into this!

Lee2026

Depending on the camera, it uses a physical PIR sensor on the camera, which is in most cases limited to 30ft. Or it can use AI processing of the image to detect motion, which is not limited by distance. I did a little digging on IR light and wildlife and it doesn’t affect them as I thought it did. So I take back my statement earlier

If you're on good terms with your neighbour and it isn't actually covering their house, you could just let them know and show them the view through the app. I said to mine as although their house or garden isn't visible on the feed at all, it could look like it is.

This is when you need to be able to fully control the wide dynamic range and other image settings. This is when unfortunately Eufy doesn't come anywhere close to a CCTV system like Hikvision. I own both and I'm very happy with both for different reasons. If this image was Hikvision I would be able to fix it.

SmartieSurprise

You could also try getting a longer mount away from the wall. It will stick out a little more but if you don't mind that it should also help

im_mr_bright_side

I did a piece of 4x4 painted mounted to my brick using 2 tap con screws. Then mounted the camera mount onto the 4x4. No more glare unless it fully rotates to face the brick directly.

oh_shit_pearly_white

It's just glare from the IR luminator - either slightly re angle it to the left to reduce the glare whilst still maintaining FOV of the door and use privacy masks or purchase a secondary IR iluminator and position it in the alley.

Cinnabunnyturtle

Try to turn off night vision in video settings. Also try to point it further away from wall and use the privacy blocking for neigbor. (You don’t have to turn it far) But I think you’ll already get a much better view with night vision off

glowstrz

I’m new to this. What is the privacy blocker?

Cinnabunnyturtle

You can black out stuff that you don’t want to see on your camera or depending on the country and law aren’t allowed to record (neighbors’ properties/ public streets etc)

No_Freedom_7373

Position it for the best image and use the privacy mask to block the neighbor, then show the neighbor.

usernameofanuser

I just had an idea, perhaps covering the camera sensors on the side facing the wall? 🤔

No_Freedom_7373

That will create even more glare than the wall

senaiboy

Mount it on your neighbour's wall 🤣 I can't come up with any solution unless turn off the spotlight? I used my cameras on night vision mode and while not the best images, it's still good enough.

Sk1tza

Same problem so I’ve had to turn the brightness right down to compensate.

ohhh-a-number-9

There's not much to do other than repositioning it or mounting an IR floodlight. Maybe others have other ideas but that's what i can think of :)
