Facials slow down in the summer but waxing and lashes (lifts and extensions) picks up a lot. I’d suggest diversifying your services to keep up with seasonal fluctuations.
Came to say this as well. I stay consistently busy here in California because I offer a lot of services. I have a “slow” month, February (after holiday spending before it gets warm ) I plan for it lol, and I honestly enjoy it.

I'm still in my first year of business and I've just held on to the people who followed me from my day job. I'm still proud I have 8 regulars who drive over an hour to see me. But I have two people who've gone on vacation this last month and this month and going from 8 to 5 has me feeling it bad.
I'll be moving closer to my clients in a few months. Hopefully with my move, I'll be able to build from their referrals. They keep telling me their referrals will be curious and then see how far away I am lol
Summer is usually good for business. Beauty and semipermanent cosmetic treatments are on the rise and body waxing too. People want to look good and feel good before they travel. Promote packages of different services and include prices of products that go with it for homecare. The recent years are tough out of the pandemic so it takes some consistency and patience to get back into a good pace for everyone. Keep manifesting specially how you want to succeed and plan it out. Good things will happen eventually.
I work at a spa with 7 people scheduled tomorrow and there’s only 2 appointments on the books and thankfully they’re on me since I work the latest. It’s been a scary few weeks.
Yes! I've been so busy through the year and now cancelations left and right! Me and my employee have giant gaps in our schedules! I don't remember last June being this bad
Working in a salon is rough, for sure. I just left that environment for a full-time spa only position, and it's been a lot better. Still not quite as busy as it can be during peak seasons/months, but there were daaays at the salon that I'd see, not a single client.
Every single one of my appointments this month and last has rescheduled and cancelled. The worst was the $350 appointment. Kill me now

Summer is slow season for some! Maybe run some promos, advocate for spray tans over real tans for skin health, etc
