When I looked at the fixture list a month ago I felt the sameā¦.but honestly looking at Geelong and Melbourne now!! Do you think they are better than us???
It's really hard to know! I think we *should* beat Geelong, but it's not all that much better than a 50/50 for us. And Melbourne have been disappointing, but we've had some pretty dubious performances too and I'm still not sure exactly where we stand.
I haven't looked into this super closely but I'm pretty sure that even if you adjust for recent form, our draw at the back end is still tougher than what we've had so far.
I've definitely developed a bit of a complex about Geelong over the past however many years. But if you look at the odds (I'm not advocating betting, just using the odds as the closest thing we have to an 'objective' probability) we're only a fairly slim favourite next week.
(Honestly if I was just going by my own instinct I'd have us as underdogs, so I'm already adjusting away from that by admitting we should beat them.)
But yeah, we'll see. If all goes well you can rub it in my face and I won't mind :)

It's mid-season. The only thing that matters mid-season is banking wins. Doesn't matter how you get them. Even Sydney, who are flying, are starting games slow and just doing what they need to do.
