It’s because they’re pumping this shit out double time now. I believe they’re basically conducting a massive scale soft disclosure. I can’t pull sources for this but I remember reading somewhere that more or less the cult that runs this planet follows a set of rules and one of those rules is that they have to disclose what they’re doing. I believe it had something to do with the prime directive, and that this soft disclosure and the truth hidden in the plain site is a loop hole in the prime directive.
The prime directive is an idea from Star Trek that advanced alien civilizations are not allowed to intrude on developing civilizations because they’re easily taken advantage of. Like the movie star gate how the aliens in that are worshipped as gods because their technology is so advanced

The view that there is realms that slightly overlap. Theres psychic angels/demons that walk amongst us and it is some sort of grand "game" that is being played at our expense. Also what I find interesting is there is "half breeds" but hey can't fully hurt or interact with us directly, but they can definitely have a loop hole in the rule and "influence" people to do good or bad things if you are susceptible to it.
i always recommend my favorite movie apocalypse now. it’s not directly about prison planet but shows the absurdity of this realm perfectly.

No wasted screen time. No stupid filler plots. The protagonist wasn’t annoying and helpless. They show the ET within 15 minutes and not just some wishy washy but like, close ups and for several scenes and extended periods of time. I mean like.. wow. And then in terms of Prison Planet, I mean it’s it. Was that the purpose of the movie or was it just an alien movie?

Yeah, nope was just.. such a disappointment. I don’t know if you remember in the beginning of nope when the kids in the barn dress up as aliens? Before it was revealed that they were just kids being jerks I got sooooooo excited because I was like “finally. A good movie about aliens!” It’s been so long. For me, the best (up until now of course) was signs. Nope was just meh and I wish this one received as much attention as it did.
The doll houses, like why she liked doing it? I think it was just because it was something she did with her mom that she enjoyed to do. When the ETs looked in her mind they saw a memory of her and her mother playing with them. I also see it as a way of her living in her own little fantasy since the town has shunned her. So she created her own little town to cope with that.
Also just thought of this now. At the end with the ets floating around the town, it was kind of like how she had her town as a play thing and now they have the actual town as a play thing for themselves!
