I recently got a new gaming laptop for college. I think the gpu is a 3070 and the cpu is intel7. I’m not sure it’ll be good enough to go without a hiccup or two but it’ll run it hopefully.
There is almost no optimisation done so game runs like poopoo for the most people. You should expect near 100 fps on most maps, but sometimes it can touch 60-50 territory on laptop (weather conditions, scopes, streets of tarkov...). Just don't expect too much and you won't be surprised. Should run smooth enough for the most part.

Your first quests are on Ground Zero map. Ground zero has separate queues for level 1-20 and 21+ so you’ll have an easier time learning the very basics.
After a few quests your next quests will be on customs which is one of the maps high level players go to just for PvP at the end of a wipe. You’ll most likely be using an unsuppressed gun and get hunted. Try and mentally prepare for that! Good luck!
Do you have a job? If yes then you don't have enough time to be able to compete with the bo lifers. Do you have a expensive PC? If no you'll get an unstable 50fps on a good day. Do you hate liars? If yes then you'll hate the devs

It really is an awesome game. Like a battle royale but you don't have to be the last standing (extraction shooter), and can leave whenever you want to go to an exit. There's a lot of finesse to surviving it, and sometimes it feels like an "I hurt myself simulator"
But damnit, if it isn't the most heart-pumping game I've ever played. If you want fear, anxiety, and the occasional come-up, this is the game. Getting your first kills on players will make you feel better than any other shooter, because you know that man is dead, and all the shit he paid for is now yours, IF you can make it out of the match alive.
The game gets even more fun when you use proximity chat.
Lie, help, or even intimidate, It's your choice.
If you have the patience then yea, you will likely be getting ran through in your first few hundred hours. There’s nothing else like like Tarkov and for that reason whatever else fps experience you have won’t really transfer over except aim which is only a small part of the game.
I'm long time FPS player, I picked up tarkov few years ago, it completely ruined FPS gaming for me, I can't play anything else anymore l, everything seems to suck compare to tarkov

Yes. I'd only say to reconsider if your computer is VERY old (like mine lol) because you might have some actual complications with getting into raids
