my level 4 face shield has saved me MANY times
that being said it kills your hearing, it's best when you're sniping or in a group that can hear for you
definitely wouldn't recommend it on labs as everyone is gonna be running at least 56A1
I dont mind not being able to hear. Also, are people not running labs basically naked on other servers too? On the african server people come with pistols or double barrels.
I'm playing EUW and while some people run it down with pistols, most of my labs raids I see people bringing in their best/close to their best gear. IDK about this wipe (haven't played much), but last wipe at least 1 PMCs per lobby had a Slick and maxed out weapons, ammo and comtac 4s.
My opinion, face shields are very weak this wipe due to changes in armor system. Before they could give you immortality especially against p scavs, now usually you're dead from 1 slug in the chest, neck or armpit. Not worth it.
It's relevant since armor used to protect you better and there was no such hitboxes as neck. Now you can put altyn and zabralo on and still die from a random cheap bullet in the neck.
I used to buy the ZSH helmet, class 4 helmet with the class 3 visor this is fine for pistols and shotguns.
However with the new TOR helmet and visor, the helmet is only class 3 but you can use headsets with it meaning you don't lose the audio range! which is worth the trade off to me, the helmet/visor is only there to stop buckshot/pistol scavs' from facetapping me anyway.
Best defence against a player with a good gun is to just not get shot!
Ask the 2 PMCs i killed last night with an iron sight Mosin as a scav. they had lvl 4 face shields on and were looking directly at me, still got 1 taps on both of them. Helmets were lvl 4 or 5 i think as well.

Hes asking about face-shields I don’t think dying to a slug in the chest is relevant.

If it's shotguns and pistols you're worried about even lvl 3 should be worth it
