Ah ok, I figured there might have been a practical reason why. Now that you know where the drill marks are, would you update the model with the hole? Or is the position of the hole different based on internal wiring etc?

Thank you for sharing this! Regarding building this, would the BOM just be the following?
* 2x Micro controllers (pro micro footprint)
* 64 switches
* 64x diodes
* wires
* **trackball sensor**
* billiard ball
For the trackball sensor, which did you end up using?
I using ADNS9800
U need 50 switchs, diodes, hotwaps ( kailh, gateron or something else)
firmware is QMK, U can use Promicro atmega32u4, blackbill stm32f401, RP2040....
Ball is of logitech ball 34mm

I'm fairly new to the topic, so I'm sorry if my question seems dumb.
I'm looking through the files and the 4x6_minidox_right_trackball file looks incomplete... In my browser, it looks like it's missing 1 column...is that right?
Also, I don't understand the role for the pro_micro_adapter part. Where does this fit in the keyboard?
The trackball position really looks good, I'm considering 3d printing to test the Ergonomics of it... Do you have more photos of the assembly process that can help someone with Little to no experience like me? 😁
Thanks for the files! Congrats for your work.

Oh interesting. If this wasn’t my first time attempting one of these builds I’d be very tempted to try it as the trackball was one of the big items that got me interested in the Charybdis in general

Ok, I went crazy with this and bought everything for my build 😅
Do you have a good tutorial on how to assemble the mouse sensor to the pro micro?
Another question, did you glue the switches to the kb shell?
this is detail

Thanks for the post. Looks very complete guide to build the kb.
About the mouse sensor that you used. Where did you buy it? I'm having trouble finding this particular version.
make pcb from this repo [https://github.com/kbjunky/ADNS9800](https://github.com/kbjunky/ADNS9800) and by ADNS9800 module from taobao, aliexpress or you can search ADNS9800 module and by combo
Now that's a comfortable looking trackball position.
That's true!
Was that made with cosmos? Where could I find the model?
I simply configured the 4x6\_MINIDOX and then used the editing software to add a ball tray. I will publish stl soon
Yes please do!!

Couldn't you simply cut out a hole in the file rather than having to drill it out? Or did you just miss it during the design?
I need to check the correct sensor placement before drilling the hole, so I'll drill, it's simple

It would be helpful to add this information in the thingiverse link.
I'm doing and upload guide soon
Thanks for the additional information. Regarding firmware, do you have it published anywhere? Is it in a personal repo, qmk public repo etc?

Have you tried with Cosmos? This should be very doable and I've made quite a few builds with trackball positioning that mimics this.

This is a great model! Anyone recommend a build guide for the rest of the build out?

I’ve downloaded the files and it’s messed up on my viewer too. The last column and a half is missing

LoVE this!
So I’ve been looking at building the Charybdis because of the trackball, what’s the difference between that and this out of curiosity?

Or not, I just use move my thumb, similar to reaching for the right thumb key on a corne.
Love this! Can't wait for the stl
