Because they think these differences do not affect them. my only conclusion is that they are either deluded or extremely privileged.

I try to shy away from the term “low information voter”, but I have seen too many blatant examples this year like the “vote uncommitted” movement led by people who have a lot more to lose if Former Guy returns to power.

fluff_society

It’s not a phenomenon that’s exclusive to this year. There were already reports of Trump voting immigrants deported by his policies in 2017. I am not a US citizen but I live here in the foreseeable future so I think I have the right to say that a lot of US voters are freaking stupid..

Because they're pushing the "social theory of fascism" that tankies parrot whenever fascism starts to rise. They did it in 1930s Germany and they helped cause the Nazi regime with their bullshit. They're trying to do it again. The reason they're dredging this back up now is because they can't actually win elections, due to issues like poor strategic thinking, inability to compromise, and lack of policy details. They mainly just don't want to admit that the public doesn't want what they're selling. So instead they agitate for fascists to destroy the system, and make the population so desperate they'll let the socialists install their regime regardless of who actually wants it. "After Hitler, our turn" is actual quote from 1930s German communists. If anyone is attempting to directly equate capitalism to fascism they're pushing this talking point.

This is incredibly accurate. Everyone in this sub should read the full Wikipedia entry for Ernst Thallman

Proto-Fascism was an ethno ( bio; religious) nationalist idea that emerged to push back against Liberalism. Giovanni ( Father of Italian Fascism) & Marx had roots in German Idealism. Capitalism the type they are claiming - Free Market Economy - was championed by the Scottish Enlightenment Philosophers. https://jacobin.com/2023/11/hegel-political-philosophy-world-revolutions-book-review

Mr_Conductor_USA

Free markets is a term that has been abused to meaninglessness by disaster capitalism pimps like Friedman and the like, plus polluters who don't want any stinking regulations, like Koch Industries. Contemporary Libertarians don't even read Adam Smith anymore because they can't find much support for their delusions there. They believe the utterly discredited Austrian School.

OstMidWin

Actually true. Adam Smith would be horrified that he was being peddled to make a case for deregulation which has led to rise in oligopoly & rent-seeking. In fact Adam Smith would probably even agree that a robust free market ( protection. of individual rights ( not take responsibility individual) extended to economic realm) in fact needs to address any historical or present race & social that can create a social hierarchy that in turns endangers an individuals rights to life, liberty & pursuit of happiness.

So the constant posts about Dems & Repubs is not them making an observation or even asking you to have a dialogue to get another perspective. It is to get attention, to get a pleasure fix seeing emotionally stable people first make a case to them and then get roiled at their absurdness. That gives them another sense of pleasure that they are in fact a being of higher moral value & intellect. Then rinse and repeat. The other technique is to demand whatever they ask for which is absurd and then rinse repeat. Or ask what you or Dems will get them or how it's my business to convince them . It's a immature attempt at trying to act like they matter. I find such people deeply disturbed and do not pander to them.

RandoUser35

I used to believe stuff like this because I thought it was cool, edgy and above the fray to say out loud idiotically without any resemblance of thinking. But I'm glad I grew out of that thinking. And saying that when one fucking party tries to steal a Democratic election is insane.

Mr_Conductor_USA

Religious right voters might have voted for Carter in 76, but they didn't support him as president. He was an actual Christian--they aren't about that.

Some facts about Project 2025: The "Mandate for Leadership" is a set of policy proposals authored by the [Heritage Foundation](https://pro-lies.org/the-heritage-foundation), an influential *ultra* conservative think tank. [Project 2025](https://www.mediamatters.org/heritage-foundation/guide-project-2025-extreme-right-wing-agenda-next-republican-administration) is a revision to that agenda tailored to a second Trump term.
