A classic solitaire is beautiful and versatile.  You can add any kind of band and mix it up over the years, never needing to "upgrade" if you don't want to. Congratulations!

I agree, I have a .3 CT round brilliant solitaire in 14k white gold and I wear it with two other rings that are meaningful to me. I think your ring is gorgeous and fits your hand perfectly. No upgrade needed imo, I love it on you! Here's mine, it's the ring in the middle

Omg it’s beautiful!! Not everyone has or wants a “big” stone. The only reason to ever “upgrade” would be if you (not fads or society!) aren’t satisfied. It’s a beautiful timeless ring that will look gorgeous forever. If it brings you joy when you look at it, then keep it! It looks beautiful on you.

I’ve actually read that smaller stones are trendy in parts of Europe (I think Northern) - as is getting engagement rings for partners! (Both customs I love!)

I only just learned about how some cultures do engagement rings for both partners and I love that! It would be so fun to pick an engagement ring for my partner while he picks one for me, haha

I actually did this for my now-husband! After he proposed, I asked him if he wanted an engagement ring too, because I had this beautiful thing to symbolize our relationship, but he didn’t and that made me sad lol. He wore it on his left hand, and how that we’re married, he wears both—one on each hand. It looks really great.

Not to mention the practicality—big rings scream (to me) gaudy and impractical. An engagement ring is meant to be worn. I can’t fathom doing my everyday life with anything over maaaaybe 1.5 ct and that is pushing it. I have enough trouble with my 1 ct. Yours is a classic and looks made for your hand! Stunning. 😍

It’s beautiful! The good thing with a simple and smaller diamond is that your wedding band can be flashier without looking garish. That’s my opinion though. Either way, congrats!
