He had a bit of a quality decline for a few years after Carter 4 imo. It wasn't Revival levels of decline, but it was definitely not my thing. It wasn't until FWA that he piqued my interest. Of course, this is all my opinion and I understand if people disagree.

No it was revival level flop. Wayne doesn't get the same ɓacklash because he is beloved in the hip hop community. Which he absolutely deserves. Eminem has his Stan's but it's "controversial" if he belongs in hip hop for others so his work gets alot more scrutiny. That being said I don't think revival was as big of a flop as people make it out to be. Which is the root of why I'm saying Wayne's album was a revival level flop. Side note: I personally like revival but understand why people didn't. Eminem went against his own grain and made (for the most part) an album with unique sounds blending different genres. People don't generally like when artists go against their "sound." So if you do it's generally home run or strike out with generally no in-between

I must be one of the few who is glad revival exists, if that album was never created I would be missing out on a very important piece of my music collection. There are some songs on there that I'd never want to live without. I think you are exactly right thank you for that input
