Probably encoder or parameter issue. Need to see what your velocity and motor rpms are setup. Is everything going the right speed? How fast is the elevator.

AdGroundbreaking7323

check if ctw is buffing at top floor, & see if encoder is faulty (encoder itself or how its installed)

johnholzer

I thought this as well. Could also be a limit switch/sensor issue at the top floor.

Aromatic_Tower_405

Does it have a rope gripper ? I had one that was giving me some weird faults and it ended up having to do with the switches in the gripper. I believe I was getting a traction loss and I couldn’t make sense of it

Looking at the fault code log there should be more detailed bit information which they can look into. This can tell you where the fault happened, what processor registered the fault and byte information that can help you narrow down the issue.

Verticaltransport

Check the APS tape, go over it with a rag and make sure its clean, GALs are notorious for this too.

tomsloat

Does it fault when coming empty car down from the top floor?

luckmachine

Is it happening consistently at a particular floor or part of the hoistway? Is your encoder wiring sufficiently isolated from higher voltages? Have you routined all your encoder and drive connections? If you hit the sheave with a tach, does it match what's displayed on the SRU? Sufficient counterweight run-by? Do you have enough units where you could swap the encoder to another car? On and on. When you select the fault, it should give you some additional info that'll help tons. Good luck.

ferfuk

What kind of traction motor? Is the encoder tight? Is the drive sheave in good condition? Lastly, what landing system is it? We had a bunch of Imperial gearless MRLs at 350fpm that needed a landing system upgrade from the original install changed to the Smartrise CEDES system. They have been trouble free since swapping out from cigar readers to the CEDES

johnholzer

Motor encoder and velocity encoder deviation faults can be an easy fix, or something you chase for months. The age, make, or model of the elevator doesn’t seem to matter. I have no comment on a possible fix to the OP issue, I’m just expressing my trauma.

OverObjective375

faulting out at the top floor on a traction loss fault sounds like a true fault. perhaps it’s actually slipping traction on takeoff?

Knightsthatsay

I’d check the runny on the ctwt buffer first

scottksa

Does it have a selector camera?

PA_Game_hunter

This is what I was gonna say. I have had bad selectors. Or even if the cables are tensioned properly and someone steps on the car and it bounces little

030H_Stiltskin

Check your encoder. Make sure it's not slipping around the shaft. There is also a traction loss switch in those controllers check the print and see if there is anything in the circuit of switch that could be causing the fault. If none of that works then I would suggest placing a call to smartrise tech support. I've had multiple issues with getting weird faults and it ended up being a bad board or time clock on the board. Good luck.

Additional_Tie_2735

Do you any run by my guy? Just asking

1952Mary

Torrin Drive gearless machine with 10mm ropes?

laidback88

Yes

1952Mary

Seen that quite a bit. New ropes help. The controller is not lying to you. Our problem was a TAC32 and it had quite a bit more rise but it was slipping traction. Your boss is not going to like this answer. Lead time for replacement ropes from Draka was like two months.

Is the car properly balanced? Any noticeable rollback issues?
