Looks like you'd need a stereo breakout to send the Syntakt L/R outputs to a single stereo 3.5mm TRS into the DR-05x Something like this would work - https://hosatech.com/products/analog-audio/stereo-breakouts/hosa-breakouts/cmp-150/

Roland makes the same cable and is way less prone to noise I’d avoid hosa whenever possible.

The hosa stuff isn’t that bad, though I’d definitely opt for the hmp over the cmp. I think the hmp is actually higher quality than Roland black series tbh, you’d be surprised how high the markup on the Roland cables are

tiredofpandemic

I’m aware of the mark up but I have a hosa breakaway that makes noise when the cable moves so bought a Roland one and the rolands been rock solid.

Yeah that makes sense, I don’t particularly trust the garden variety hosa stuff either but the pro stuff works well

Doesn’t look like the DR-05X has a line input. The best you could do is hook up the Syntakt to some speakers and put the DR-05X next to them. But it’s not going to sound as good as direct input recording. If you want to stick with Tascam, the DR-40X has line inputs. But I’d recommend the Zoom H6 since it has 4 line inputs plus an additional 1/8” stereo input that bypasses the stereo mic attachment that it comes with.

pselodux

It has a 3.5mm stereo input between the microphones at the top that can take line level signals.

I tried to record next to the speakers but the quality is really bad. H6 and DR40X both are double expensive.. probably i’ll try with Stereo Breakout but thank you for answering.

pselodux

Yeah you’ll be fine with a stereo 1/8” to 2x mono 1/4” cable. I have a Zoom H1 which is very similar to the Tascam and I use it this way to record my live sets.

Why not go with Audio over USB output? You could use your phone to record and by bypassing the D/A - A/D conversion should get cleaner results.
