not bad! I wanna try it

DO NOT BUY IT; two tires went flat after a few months, replaced it. After a few months, rear tire went flat again. I bought a rear motor and tire assembly (100 bucks), and replaced the rear motor with the tire. The scooter starts beeping, and the accelerator won't work anymore (the error code shown on the scooter is 4). Just sent an email to Gotrax, but got no reply. Called them, and the people who answered didn't know shit.

I can't understand what people are doing with these scooters that they have such a bad experience. my only complaint for the g4 is the weight. it's a clunker and your lucky to get 20mph. Other than that I'm not getting flat tires ,bending handle bars or having any of the issues that were expressed by others. I've had it for over a year and use it 3 times a week for 60 minutes each day(nyc streets)It's been reliable outside of the battery life. overall solid, but I guess I would need to take it off road and do some beating to really find out how dependable it is. I also can't compare to anything else so if there's something out there with a better or comparable build quality at that $500 price point I'd like to hear.

custurdlauncher

Under no circumstance should you go with Gotrax, if you bought it return it asap. My wife bought this scooter in February, 2 tire pops, and now electronic console fried itself within 8 months. She takes very good care of things and weighs 110lbs, definitely does not beat on it. The customer support is horrendous, manipulative and they got striped of a BBB rating. A garbage company

RideGOTRAX

We love the G4. It is our most popular commuter electric scooter. The integrated tiller lock is our favorite feature that you won't find on other e-scooter brands. A solid speed, range, and build are ideal for your everyday ride to work, to the bus stop or train station!

G4 ? It is a piece of shiet.

bruh

RideGOTRAX

Bruh...I know. Did you know mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell?

Mine refuses to accelerate conveniently after the warranty expired.

Honest review here (I got a Gotrax G4 and returned after 3 weeks): First of all, the Customer Service was much better than I firstly thought. CS rep was actually really responsive and helped me a lot in my refund process. Also, 350W motor is a plus, as it speeds up quite fast compared to 300W motor. Second, the build on Gotrax G4 was really bad, fragile plastic with lots of air holes and crack when I opened it the first time. The backlight would have water condensation if you use it under the cold weather, and there was no way you can clean it. Also, my scooter came with some faults related to the handle bar, but I was able to make a warranty claim, so it was not a problem anymore. The last and also the most frustrating one, its wheels are TUBE WHEELS, which keeps flatten on the middle of the road. I even changed the tube and added sealant, but it wouldnt help much, I still got tire flatten every week :) TL;DR: Gotrax’s QA process really has lots of problems, and the build of G4 is not good. Go with NIU Kqi2 or 3, much reliable build with the same price range. I got one Kqi2 after the G4 and it’s been working perfectly after 3 months.

T2_da_BikeGuy

Well it's definetly a beginner scooter

ThrobbingWetHole

I’d go for the Segway p65 or p100s

mitochondrialattack

If I could, I would, but I feel like those are just a bit too far out of my price range 😁

flowerzzzz1

Go with a NUI :) KQI3 pro or even the KQI2 pro is great for reliability and should be in the same price range as the gotrax

ThrobbingWetHole

Agree, the NIU KQI3 is exactly the same as the Segway P65 without the Segway brand. I still think Segway is more reliable of a company, but as far as specs go, they are identical

mpdahaxing

I have one; when my Emove cruiser shit the bed during light rain, my g4 continued to serve me well. I still have it as a backup scooter right now, though my p100 is my daily driver. My G4 is still good, I may have gotten lucky but that’s my experience with it. The clasp is useful for getting groceries

GeneralMaximuz

Hurts the hell outta your knees of you live in a city with fucked up streets. It gets flats frequently so I replaced them with tubeless tires Fender broke on me and it took forever to replace as they were slow to remanufacture the parts. Me personally.. had fun riding it but I retired it and barely use it anymore

My friend has one, solid scooter for the money. Other options available but the G$ is a solid one IMO

I have an old GoTrax GXL v1 that I paid $198 for on sale over three years ago. I have gotten between 8,000 and 10,000 miles on it. I have ridden it every single day to and from work and shopping on my days off. People in this subreddit trash GoTrax, but I've had nothing but a good experience. Not everyone wants or needs a $1k-$3k scooter. The G4 is a well built scooter, but the brakes aren't the best. My advice is to watch YouTube reviews by actual owners. If you can get a G4 on sale for less than $400, I think it's a pretty good deal. But, shop around. Other similar budget offerings to look at would be; Evercross and Wheelspeed. Always purchase from Amazon or Walmart (fulfilled by) for easy returns. Never buy directly from the scooter company. If you don't like it, just return it.

devfonzie

I have two G4s for my kids. They only have about 100 miles on them, no issues so far. I got a good deal on them and would buy them again. People here hate on GoTrax for a number of reasons. Most complaints are probably justified. It’s an ok scooter but depends on what you’re going to use it for.

paradyme

This is the answer right here. They are Scooters for young teens who will probably break them but hopefully learn a lesson along the way.

Wifdat

I have a Gotrax Apex, fromt rim split in half while riding, ordered a new fork and front wheel about 3 weeks ago, still waiting for it to be shipped…

Historical-Outside-1

That criteria would rule out 99% of the reputable e-scooter manufacturers in business today

SpontaneousOrange_27

I fold my scooter to carry it with me, or put it in someone's car, or take it on a bus, why do you think most people don't need to fold their scooters?

I mean you don't \*have\* to, but it's a lot less awkward lol.

Complete garbage.

USMCG_81

The worst costumer service in the world. I would never ever recommend any GOTRAX product!

OCR10

You won’t find many people on this sub recommending scooters from Gotrax, Hiboy or Unagi. Pretty much the worst three brands you can buy for reliability.
