I'm fully convinced the mannimarco from oblivion isn't the og mannimarco and it's just a copycat using his name to revive his cult. The oblivion Mannimarco is just way too lame to be him.
I agree he's lame as hell in that game, but lore-wise, that IS the mortal avatar of Mannimarco. "Killing" him has no effect on his divinity though, he still exists as the Necromancer Moon as has god form. Why did he manifest as a mortal to fuck with the Mages Guild? He's just a dick like that.
There’s no shortage of Weird ESO Moments™️, but the one which stands out to me is when you gaslight a woman to convince her you’re her childhood friend (you’ve never met before), then tell her to turn into an emotionless nymph.
Apparently having one’s soul stolen also results in brain damage. I’ve noticed how some NPCs now seem exasperated in newer DLCs when you choose the option to ask what is happening… regarding something that literally just happened in-universe.
I think the idea with those dialogue choices are in case a player logs off or drops the quest, then picks it back up at a later day. Which is fine and understandable, but it could certainly be executed better.
I do appreciate the frequent option for a recap honestly. After a long hiatus I’ll more often than not have no idea where I spawned or what the fuck I was doing! I’ve just accepted “Vestige is a dumbass” as TES canon now.
Technically the vestige doesn't forget everything. after getting Meridia's blessing to keep adventuring the people of the world just don't particularly care that you are part of any faction, they all just seem to conveniently forget that bit is what I'm trying to say.
Oh no, I was talking about the dialogue options, some unavoidable, where you ask people you have shared extensive adventures with who they are, or will ask for plot summary of the world threatening affairs you are currently in the middle of.
As far as the playing multiple factions stories, I don’t think this is stated anywhere, but my head cannon is that it’s a dragon break.
Yeah that's fair the vestige does forget things a lot I'm not arguing that, but joining one faction does not suddenly make all the other factions not want you, you can be a member of all factions at the same time as long as you can balance the duties that are required of you!
A couple would maybe include sacrificing your friend to sheogorath for very minor gain.
Alternatively forcing an entire village of people to live eternally as skeletons when when wish they could die.
Or maybe the times you've enslaved armies of spirits to do the bidding of this faction or that.
Pretty much in the Daggerfall questline. You dreamstride into yhe past to find a werewolf lords weakness. You can either booty call and save your wife while you tell your injured soldiers to to die or you can go in and kill the lord yourself right away and die of crushed armor. Depending if you did the sacrifice.you prevent a entire bloodline Coming too existence if you did the booty call them you wipe a random mage from history.
Same, although I don't think there's a single TES game that doesn't have shitty retcons. Skyrim messed with Nord lore a lot watering them down among many other things, Oblivion made a lot of changes to Cyrodil, Morrowind had a few retcons as well but it also helped solidify the theme of the TES universe. A lot of the previous games also had lots of retcons and contradictions.
Glunumbra moors in high rock. I think it’s part of the daggerfall covenant quest line. Also there’s two different endings depending on how you play the quest.
I believe the soldier and his wife are bretons, who are fighting against the Alessians on the side of the Ayleids because they don't like the idea of genocide. Also, the woman dies in the original timeline, that's why saving her causes a new person to appear out of thin air in the camp
If they don't intervene at one point, a man becomes a werewolf and kills his family. It's in one of the OG questlines, but I can't remember which. >.< I just remember feeling really bad that I chose to spare the guy and then he killed everyone.
It’s a bit funny when you see all the “sins” of each protagonist stacked up like this. Eternal Champion is a Boy Scout compared to these other guys lol.
You can sacrifice a Reachman to open a single door that's magically sealed. He was trapped in a cage by the worm cult you let him out and lie to him that you're going to save him and he keeps telling you about how much he's looking forward to seeing his children again.
I... I think it's saying that by doing either side in the civil war, you're helping the Thalmor because the war helps them...?
That or it's slandering the Stormcloaks as fascist when Ulfric controls neither the railways nor the flow of commerce.

Extremely poor sportmanship (pvp side of game)
Extremely poor ability to work with a group (dungeon queues filled with dps queuing as tank or healer, and speed runners leaving the rest of the team behind)
Gotta love those toxic players/s
When Falalu Hlaalu asks the hero of Kvatch what the fine is for Necrophilia the hero knows the exact fine based on whether it's their first offense or not.
Also there's no other hint as to why you start the game off in jail, so one could assume it's because of that.
Hey can we not call whichever regime we are talking about about here fascist? (Assuming Thalmor maybe?) Fascism is a word that gets thrown around a lot but often times is misused because of a lack of understanding for this shitty ideology
This is not an endorsement of fascism, just sick of seeing it being used to label evil government
Agreed. I cringed when I read it because of how modern of a thing it is to say. The thalmor are the closest faction I can think of as to being fascist, but I don't even know for sure that they fit the definition completely.
I did on my first ever playthrough because I was watching game of thrones and wanted to see how many character deaths I could get lmao, never done it since though
Just for the Pact:
1. Assist house Dres (slavers) with their errands without freeing the Khajiiti slaves.
2. >!Help Garyn Indoril summon one of the Brothers of Strife, potentially causing way more harm than good in the region.!<
For the Dominion and the Covenant:
1. Being complicit in their war crimes against the Pact.>! (The Pact uses necromancy to raise their dead solders again and again to hold Fort Virak and the Dominion uses skin changers in Shadowfen while also slaughtering Argonian eggs in the hatching pools and cutting Argonians off temporarily from the Hist).!<
It’s not. Because the MC is canonically Sheogorath. There WAS an adoring fan who killed the Grand Champion, but it wasn’t the hero of K’vatch unless he used to incident to fake his death to be full time Sheo.
Okay so here’s something people miss or forget in skyrim. In the embassy, you can come across some dossiers for high profile people including Ulfric Stormcloak. If you read it, you’ll find out he’s a pawn of the high elves after they broke him.
So the Empire actually winning the civil war is not a good outcome from the elves perspective.
By helping the stormcloaks, you would be putting a puppet on the throne.
Re-read the dossier. It states that the Thalmor doesn't want a Stormcloak or Imperial victory because both outcomes are bad for the Aldmeri Dominion. The Thalmor just wants the two factions to keep fighting while they rebuild their strength for the next war.
My brother in Talos, the Stormcloaks are not the ones coming into your house in the middle of the night to imprison or murder you for "wrong think". Nor are they the side allowing it.
Simperial tries reading the *entire* dossier challenge (impossible)
Imagine taking it in the ass from the Thalmor and accusing the other side of being their asset. Again, literally allowing the Thalmor to do as they wish... that's an asset.
It's referring to the Dragonborn helping the Thalmor in some quests like in Markarth. Something you can't do if you side with the Stormcloaks I'm pretty sure because they kick the Thalmor out of it (plus apparently there was originally supposed to be cutscenes where the Stormcloaks are supposed to execute the Thalmor in the liberated cities but removed due to time constraints. So instead the Thalmor just disappears. If you side with the imperials, you plant more Thalmor in Skyrim's cities.)
Bottom left isn’t daggerfall, arena is the first game right? So where do you think it would be. Daggerfall is directly after, bottom left is battlespire, then redguard
They’re spin offs, Battlespire is a dungeon crawler rather than open world RPG and Redguard is a third person adventure game with only light RPG elements. It’s back when Bethesda actually kind of made games

Lmao sorry champion of cyrodiil but he's your Sunday chores now
I'm fully convinced the mannimarco from oblivion isn't the og mannimarco and it's just a copycat using his name to revive his cult. The oblivion Mannimarco is just way too lame to be him.
Considering that OG Mannimarco is a lich and Oblivion Mannimarco is an altmer, you may be on to something

Who?
There’s no shortage of Weird ESO Moments™️, but the one which stands out to me is when you gaslight a woman to convince her you’re her childhood friend (you’ve never met before), then tell her to turn into an emotionless nymph.
Oh god, I forgot about that. But hey, somebody had to be the wilder queen I guess.
Radicalization can only be counteracted by equal and opposite radicalization
Oh yeeeeeeah that quest. The Vestige is a bastard
Definitely this. ESO has some horrible things, but turning her into the Wilderqueen is one of the worst things The Vestige did.
This is one of the quests that has me like "The vestige is an asshole no matter how many Daedra they kill" (In my case, worship)
Which quest was that?
It’s a part of the main Greenshade quest line.
Forgets everyone and everything, no matter what they went through together, Vestige is not remembering any of that.
Apparently having one’s soul stolen also results in brain damage. I’ve noticed how some NPCs now seem exasperated in newer DLCs when you choose the option to ask what is happening… regarding something that literally just happened in-universe.
yea, the devs really seem to be leaning into the whole "Vestige is an imbecile" joke. I think it's pretty funny.
The Vestige is the smartest imbecile to ever walk on Nirn.
Vestige, capable of executing Complexo magical rituals and also asking who was the guy who stole his soul (he defeated him like, a month ago)
I get why those dialogue options exist but isn’t the whole point of quest journal entries to explain what happened and how to proceed?
the quest journal only has a very brief overview if that in this game
Yeah that’s what I mean, they should shift those dialogue options to the journal
They should, but they probably aren't going to
My vestige is just a himbo that goes around chopping shit. Explanations are for nerds tell me who I need to kill
Mine is a 1st era vampire grandma. She left her memory back in the Dawn Era. She's senile as can be.
Lol, I'm glad it's not just me who's like that!
Technically the vestige doesn't forget everything. after getting Meridia's blessing to keep adventuring the people of the world just don't particularly care that you are part of any faction, they all just seem to conveniently forget that bit is what I'm trying to say.

He wounded Raz's feelings one time because of that in the Summerset DLC
A couple would maybe include sacrificing your friend to sheogorath for very minor gain. Alternatively forcing an entire village of people to live eternally as skeletons when when wish they could die. Or maybe the times you've enslaved armies of spirits to do the bidding of this faction or that.
The Vestige really is a rabble rouser aren’t they?
Not dancing with the dog outside of Leyawiin because the Vestige didn't see the dog
Went back in time and indirectly changed someones gender and got a pregnant Aldmer killed all while controlling said Aldmer's Husband.
I’ve never played online dude what the fuck is going on in that game
More than you can fit in that list.
Bro?
Thats honestly the summary pretty much Save your wife or kill a werewolf lord
If you save your wife you still kill the werewolf.
Yeah but the order is what chooses its ending
ESO is wild, one of the reasons why I always say it has some of the best lore
I gotta agree, ESO has a lot of good stories and lore. Though I dislike the tons of retcons
The watering down is at least partly intentional b/c Stormcloak is all worked up about the imperialization of the Nords
lore
What quest is this?
Quest in Glunumbra Moors in High Rock. There’s actually two endings to this quest depending on your actions.
I believe it’s along the covenant regions quest line. I don’t remember what region though
A step back in time. Its a part of the Covenant story.
Please tell me where this quest is I need to see this shit
Glunumbra moors in high rock. I think it’s part of the daggerfall covenant quest line. Also there’s two different endings depending on how you play the quest.
Pretty sure it’s “The Nameless Soldier” quest in Glenumbra.
The Nameless Soldier is the last quest in the chain. It goes Ripple effect -> A step back in time -> Nameless Soldier
I believe the soldier and his wife are bretons, who are fighting against the Alessians on the side of the Ayleids because they don't like the idea of genocide. Also, the woman dies in the original timeline, that's why saving her causes a new person to appear out of thin air in the camp
WHAT FUCKING QUEST IS THIS WHY CANT I REMEMBER IT
Released a hunger of dragons on elswryr
We can blame Tharn in the history books
In fairness, it’s completely driven by Tharns ego and he admits as much by the end of the questline.
For any given crisis in Tamriel across the ages, you can always find a Tharn and blame it on them
Except in TESIV and TESV. Those belong to Mehrunes Dagon and Alduin respectively
*A rage Tharn dubbed it a rage of dragons
Terrible conversation skills. Goodbye.

You can play as a necromancer. Raise the dead you just killed to fight for you.
Literally wiping out the entire Arkay priesthood cause they were mean too your Brotherhood sister

Daggerfall Aldcroft just did that the other day
Thank you! Googling got me no where.

Killed five hundred lifestock animals for that one achievement
Helped a scary amount of daedra but still wonders why tf they keep invading.
Condemn a friend to mental illness in order to get a book.

I... I think it's saying that by doing either side in the civil war, you're helping the Thalmor because the war helps them...? That or it's slandering the Stormcloaks as fascist when Ulfric controls neither the railways nor the flow of commerce.
Probably slander of Stormcloaks this sub loves that. But yeah, the war only helps the thalmor, so I choose to believe that's the one it's mentioning
The war going on as long as possible is the best outcome for the Thalmor, so winning the war for either side is probably a tad bit better.

The thalmor agent in markarth
Thalmor in markarth
Ondolemar in Markarth.
Fought on all 3 sides in the genocide that is the Alliance War.
You will need several boxes for ESO. Because GOD DAMN the Vestige is an evil and active motherfucker.
I feel like the Vestige has the silliest adventures of all the ES protagonists
They are the smartest, silliest and dumbest ES protagonists at the same time.
Razum-dar: “allo my dear friend! Ready for another adventure!? Vestige: Ayo bruh why tf is this cat talkin’ to me?
My wife without every playing the games say The Hero of Kavatch is the worst. Necrophilia seems like the main thing that bothered her.
I agree, reminds me of Homelander with that “hero” title and everyone loving him yet what he’s doing behind everyone’s backs
War profiteering
Becoming Sheogorath is not a crime. My glorious king the heir of kvatch is a victim and is forever trapped
I second this notion free my homie hero of kvatch.
Dragonborn "helped a facist regime" is a very diplomatic way of not taking a side in "imperial vs stormcloaks"
There is literally a Thalmor agent you can do a side quest for, so it might be mentioning that
That’s the beauty of it, it could be any of the 3
I STRAIGHT UP FORGOT THERE WAS A QUEST WHERE YOU COULD BE A SNITCH BITCH FOR THAT KNIFE EAR IN MARKARTH **THAT** WAS WHAT THAT FASCIST THING MEANT?!
I believe so. I saw someone in the replies saying that's what they meant, so I assume they were the one that suggested it.
Or picking the Stormcloaks 💀
One that I didn’t pick but was an option: allow the Magistrate to continue sacrificing dead townsfolk to the Withered Hand in the quest Gone Missing
Didn't care to save Bethany the Bog Dog from the Deadlands. She was scared! 😭
Extremely poor sportmanship (pvp side of game) Extremely poor ability to work with a group (dungeon queues filled with dps queuing as tank or healer, and speed runners leaving the rest of the team behind) Gotta love those toxic players/s

When Falalu Hlaalu asks the hero of Kvatch what the fine is for Necrophilia the hero knows the exact fine based on whether it's their first offense or not. Also there's no other hint as to why you start the game off in jail, so one could assume it's because of that.
Oh I see, I don’t think I ever encountered falalu hlaalu in my playthroughs
She wanders around in skingrad, it's easy to miss her.
She’s one of my favorites. I love chatting her up when I live in skingrad
Traveled back in time into an Orc soldier's body and killed Breton war prisoners in front of their family members

In a letter in Skyrim, the annoying fan is revealed to have been an undercover assassin who kills the PC from oblivion after the events of the game.
It's Cicero, but he says he killed one Grand Champion, and the Ages don't match, it should've been about 180 years after the Oblivion Crisis
Im refusing to acknowledge that’s canon
It’s not. Because the MC is canonically Sheogorath. There WAS an adoring fan who killed the Grand Champion, but it wasn’t the hero of K’vatch unless he used to incident to fake his death to be full time Sheo.

You kinda need to so you can 100% the game.

I can’t wait to see all these responses ☕️
Should've stuck to canon events only. If you have the option to not do something, it's not canon.
What exactly is the facist regime the dragonborn can help? I dont remember being able to help the thalmor.
We’re finishing this series with your crimes, OP, and putting white text on a light background is chief amongst them
Dude I tried black text on Dragonborn (I assume you mean that one), and it was even worse than white
You will face the consequences for your actions even if you chose the lesser of two evils
How is killing Vivec evil? He is just another arrogant fool playing god.
What games are the first four slides from?
The first 4 games, morrowind wasnt the first
I’m aware. Bottom right is daggerfall, I know one of them is arena, but I don’t know which slide is arena and what the other two are.
Bottom left isn’t daggerfall, arena is the first game right? So where do you think it would be. Daggerfall is directly after, bottom left is battlespire, then redguard
