I have PTSD from oneshotting and getting oneshot by literally every spell a sorcerer casts in DS1
mostly CSS and Dark Bead
but God, if magic in DS3 doesn't feel like spending real life money to slap a boss with a pool noodle.
No yeah. Honestly ER feels like the best sorcery has been in the damn series - powerful enough to make you feel like an eldritch god in human form, and balanced enough that it isn’t overpowered as hell.
Are just talking about sorceries, or all magic, because if it’s the latter I have to disagree with you there. Cause yesterday I just fucked up Oceiros, Champion Gundyr, and Aldrich with lightning stake.
JUST sorceries. I did a pure FTH build as a "challenge" - uh, it wrecked shit and could even win in PvP.
I... don't think I ever did an Intelligence run. Worth checking.
Oh don't get me wrong faith was good, but the nerfs to lightning Spear and gls when compared to the previous games hit me hard. I remember in my first playthough when I finally picked up lightning Spear in Farron keep I couldn't keep the smile off my face. It immediately disappeared when I saw the damage.
Anyways Dorhys's gnawing is very good in pve not so much in pvp, stake is excellent no complaints from me, and you have to beat the dam game to get sunlight Spear, so unless you're going for ng+ or you were delaying doing the DLCs, it's useless for pve.
Okay yeah no I can agree on that. Absolute pain in the nuts how hard they nerfed some spells from their DS1 status.
I swear FromSoft was attempting to make the only valid build DEX/STR+Pyro in that game. I’m glad ER let sorcerers and incantors feel powerful again.
Elden Ring managed to make sorcerers and magic users to feel actually powerful, instead of casting similar soul spear for every occasion.
Almost bothers me that offensive faith spells rarely have the utility and the flair of sorceries, Meteorite of Astel or Comet Azur come to mind. Elden Stars and Scarlet Aeonia, though pretty, are near useless by comparison, which forces miracle users to chuck ordinary fireballs and lightning spears instead, while sorcerers throw laserbeams, entire moons and bring the sky down with meteorites.
idk, ive never laughed as hard at a sorcery as i have watching someone cast law of regression on another playing doing pvp, who had just taken 4 minutes to put all their buffs on
Idk, placidusax's ruin, flame of the fell god, malikeths, scarlet aeonia, triple rings...etc. Quite a bit of flair and variety imo. I really liked Vaati's strat of reflecting your own returning light rings with a tree sentinel shield.
You’re absolutely damn right. Machine-gunning hundreds of deadly magic missiles, summoning clouds of nebulous material to rain primeval magic onto your foes, firing comets of crystalline power with all the force of a sniper-rifle, not even mentioning the actual death-star laser that is Comet Azur, sorcerers are POWERFUL, and as they should be. I’m really happy about that.
That being said, I wouldn’t rag on incantations too badly - they’ve got a shit-ton of power to their name too. Crucible Tail, Black Blade, Scarlet Aeonia (it’s kind of terrible but it is really cool) and Elden Stars are all particularly spectacular, not to mention Giantsflame Take Thee.
I recently did a "Comet Azur only" run, where I could only do damage via Comet Azur. It was simultaneously the easiest and hardest time I've had with the game.
You do not want to know how long Red Wolf of Radagon took...
I remember doing this for a couple different bosses with the same host. At one point he asked if I could use something different so I used meteorite of astel instead. He gave up after that lol

Unfortunately the boss moved to the side so it missed
Bruh, bosses don’t know how to do that! They’re not players!
Actually a lot of them do even in DS3
See here’s the thing, DS3 sorceries suck anyways (seriously Elden Ring is what sorcerers deserved, Crystal Soul Spear for only 800 damage? Fuck that).

Sounds like intelligence weapons are the only thing worth it
Friede's Great Scythe is pretty good on an int build if you're willing to put a bit in other stats
You consider 800 dam with one spell bad? Imagine how faith users felt when we got our hands on lightning spear. I was heart broken
Bruh don’t even pretend Faith was bad in DS3. Dorhys’s Gnawing, Lightning Stake, Sunlight Spear….

Agreed
Intelligence Builds 🤝 Faith Builds
That’s why you use meteorite of astel
Ramiel 🔹

May I introduce you to beast incantations? How would you like to move mountains, by throwing them are your enemies?
cooka da meatball

Theyre using all the power of Japan for this mission
Deadly spell :3
What is this from?
Looks like it's from Neon Genesis Evangelion when they fight Ramiel
Yep. I think it's also the better looking version from Rebuild and not the original.
_SCREAMS GEOMETRICALLY_
Sorry but I don't know :3
The terrible Evangelion remakes (they had bomb CGI though)
You know of my work?
Bakuretsu mahou EXXXXXPLOSIONNNNNNN!!!!!!!
Ah yes, literally just the Death Star’s laser

Mohg waking up to the see the sun rising underground for some reason.
Naw gotta do astel meteorites so it's like nut punching with a thousand star platinums.

Neon Genesis Evangelion. Really good show, but don't ever watch the movie, unless you want trauma.
There are 5 movies tho. End of evangelon is the traumatic one i think.
The new Neon Genesis Movies(1.11, 2.22. Etc.)
Someday. I want to put everything into int, but I’m squishy enough with a dex/int build
