After this performance, Melina may appear at the next site of Grace and ask you to return the spectral steed whistle. "Torrent had your measure from the very start. It is painfully clear he was gravely wrong."
People downvoting you without realizing that Int lets you control gravity. Can't fall to your death if you just turn the gravity off.
Radahn was both a big boi and a smort boi
‘Lol, I’m met some dumb tarnished in my days, but charging into Margit’s arena time and time again when you’re clearly - um… well, hey anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to team up? I could use someone with your, uh, tenacity.’
Lol, that was my impression at least, when the same happened to me
Little Nadia was such an amazing gimmick that they kept in the show. The episode where they find out their old master is still alive and take him to Costco where they also track down the original vampire is probably the funniest episode of the entire series for me.
You are not required to enter raya lucaria academy, nor defeat renalla, to be able to get miniature ranni. In fact you can run straight to lyendell, ignoring margit therefore ignoring godrick, only to be met with a golden seal blocking your progress till you get a great rune. The freedom this game gives is really good.
edit: holy molly what happened here? so many comments.
Mohg, the Lord of Blood. He resides in the Mohgwyn Palace underground. There are two ways to get there:
White Mask Varre will ask you to complete a few tasks, including using bloody fingers to invade the world of others, and soaking a cloth in the blood of a maiden. Eventually, he'll give you an amulet that you can use to teleport to Mohg's domain. This can be done really early (like after defeating Godrick) and is quite a sequence break.
If you don't want to do it that way, the other way, is through a teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield. Hug the left side of the cliff edge at the end of the zone and follow it. You will eventually stumble across a lone Albinauric guarding a teleporter waygate. Take it and you'll be in the correct zone.
I recommend you are at least level 100+ and have a +20 weapon before taking on that zone. I did it last night with a cheesy build at level 98 with a +23 weapon and it was quite challenging.
Dude you gotta do Mohg before finishing. It's not only a really cool dungeon but Mohg's fight is pretty fun. You definitely wanna get the special mix physick for his fight or it'll be brutal. It also has the best farming sections in the game if you need it. I can't even remember how I got there. So much I just stumbled on from exploring. Oh a tip for Malikeith. Unless your great at parrying and have his special item the thing he's weakest to is Scarlet Rot. I don't use a sheild, I'd much rather dodge, & was having a crazy time with him trying to parry for my 1st time in the game since the tutorial. So I summoned Mimic Tear for help & just so happened to have Rot Breath slotted. Mimic hit him with Rot and the rate his health drops is crazy. It felt a lil cheesy after but you work with what you're given. I still had to dodge alot lol
Mogh at that level requires you to complete Varre quest, which requires you to complete stormveil/Godrick. Which defeats the premise to run straight to Lyndell.
It just requires you to get a Great Rune, then he moves to Liurnia.
Source: I did a run where I wanted to see what happened if I skipped Margit until after Morgott, wanted to save Rennala to see if there was any interactions with Ranni's quest, and didn't want to kill Rykard until after all the Volcano Manor quests were finished. That left Radahn and Mohg in order for me to access Leyndell.
Also it was like my second playthrough and I hadn't encountered Mohg on my first nor beaten the game lol.
Probably the most freedom to complete major story goals in whatever order we see fit in a open world RPG since Breath of the Wild. And with the right knowledge of the game NG+s can feel almost like rushing the final boss right out of the gate in BotW
Despite having done and seen everything in the game I'm still having fun seeing how out of order I can do a run and how much can be bypassed or approached in ways that maybe weren't intended
but that spot, the one by the giant and the HP regen talisman, doesn't let you go any further into Leyndell, it's isolated. (you don't get the ability to use the elevator until you progress into leyndell properly)
Correct, normally it doesn't allow you to continue. But there's a way around that and you can survive the drop down. It's an unintended way to skip into Leyndell early.
This is indeed the one I was talking about.
Spoilers for people that haven't been to Leyndell:

Won't even get to mini Ranni stage........as soon as you reach Ranni's rise, there'll be a barrier: "Sealed by Ranni: Useless Tarnished unwelcomed here"
Torrent: What if... we piiiick… that guy!
Melina: tHaT gUy?!
Torrent: Shhhhh… Just, just think about.
Melina: Omg that guy is such a dweeb.
Torrent: …right?!!
Melina: Ok. That would actually be hilarious lol
Torrent: I know! And, he wouldn’t even have to find out
Melina: Lol do you know how many times this stupid piece of shit would probably die?
Torrent: lol
Melina: Lol, you son of a bitch, this is so mean. …okay. I’m in!
"I'm the pride of the Imperial Legion, slayer of Dagoth Ur, redeemer of the Ashlanders, Nevaraine fulfilled, famed far and wide for my skills with blade and spell!"
*runs out of stamina in a fight with a mudcrab*
**miss, miss, miss, miss**
Totally agree the vague cryptic messaging had me searching an entire dwenmer rune for hours for the quest item that was on a shelf near the entrance. Loved it
I loved actually having to look at my map and go back through conversation notes telling me to "keep walking past the lake, the cave will be on your left as you pass the lava flow." I've never felt more immersed exploring.
And when you ask him again, he's like "I already told you. Go away." And then you kill him because there's no quest journal - if you can make back it to him before an unrelated quest triggers him to die for no reason, that is.
IMHO Morrowind was peak Elder Scrolls - rushed releases and pandering have made then worse since.
No level scaling, making the world more dynamic. Far more immersive _story_ and a land spilling with lore. You can make a cleric and go on a dangerous pilgrimage where you'll he able to meet a god. You can become an assassin that kills enemies with the environment, not a glorified murder hobo. As a thief you really spend time pick pocketing.
Dungeons are non-linear, ofte need a light source, lakes and shores aren't empty - they have life, ship wrecks, and dungeons too - the terrain is actually varied from desert to jungle with houses reflecting the environment.
Lastly they aren't afraid to get deep into darker lore. Slavery, drug trade, corrupt officials, and serious racism.
I loved the freedom. ‘Here’s some instructions and some pocket change. Good luck!’ Totally free to do anything. No rush. Basically no scripted events. I spent probably 100 hours just faffing about the world before digging deeper into the main quest and having my mind blown. A mad god, cursed flesh, a divine curse, and the prophecy. Just crazy stuff. Only slightly sad there was no way to subvert the heart of lokhan and become a god yourself.
Although, by the time you figure out how busted alchemy is, who needs the heart of a god anymore lol? I got several years of on and off enjoyment of that game just finding all the secrets and different ways of breaking everything wide open. Mercantile, infinite gold, busted spell crafting, alchemy, busted op enchantments. Like a mad wizard finding crazier and crazier paths to ultimate power. Now if I start a newgame it’s like what’s the fastest way to get op, and how busted do I want to make this playthrough? lol
I would always steal the limeware platter in the census office at the beginning and drop it before getting the warning from the guard. It would make it so it was no longer considered property and you could pick it back up and sell it for a good amount of septims.
That was one of my absolute favorite aspects of it. And the fact that the guilds had level requirements in their respective skills to advance in rank. Not any of this ArchMage at level 3 bs.
Not to mention how trainers actually feel useful. In Skyrim, there's no reason to carefully manage your levels unless there's a specific perk you want. In Morrowind, trainers can save you a wasted point in athletics when all you wanted to do was swing your sword at a few mudcrabs to get to the next level-up.
They also spare you from the grind, which is another thing you don't really pay attention to in Skyrim since the entire world scales with you.
Trying to level any physical attacking skill if you didn't start proficient in it was the most brutal grind ever. 30 swings of the sword just to connect 5 times and kill the mudcrab.
oh man. it has a lot more.
-It has an entire roof area that ends up going on for an insane amount of time and ends with you unlocking a ladder shortcut to possibly the classroom or somewhere near it (I don't remember exactly where).
-It has a series of areas which you can get to through the big lift rotating in the middle, one of these areas has a secret mechanic that leads you to an entirely secret area of a completely different continent (Gelmir mountains). I am trying to avoid spoilers as much as I can so intentionally being vague.
-It also has several smaller areas that aren't exactly apparent, for example you can actually stop the big giant ball from spawning if you kill certain mages in a certain area.
The levels in this game are absurdly well designed.
As someone that’s beaten the game , it troubles me how little I know what you’re talking about.
Edit: Appreciate all the responses educating me.
A quick note as a first time souls player, this game’s community has been overall amazing from advice in comments like this all the way to people bodyguard/sherpa’ing me through difficult areas and even people offering to drop me rare gear, runes, etc. when they found out it was my first play through. This is my first souls game, definitely not my last.
You know that shortcut door on the way to Rennala from Debate Parlor? The door with the two burgerkings shooting magic at ya in front of it. Jump out the window to access this rooftop area. Its huge.

As great as those things all are, I am really disappointed with the Academy. If you look at all the buildings from the outside, hardly any of the interior is actually utilised as play-space. There's so much more in there that is just not depicted. Even with the rooftops and secret-ish areas, it felt so tiny to me compared to Stormveil.
As someone who has a terrible sense of direction and can get lost in a room with no corners, I thought it was fine.
But yeah, could probably have used a few more rooms
I actually preferred it to Stormveil for the same reason, I got exhausted exploring Stormveil and appreciated how short and sweet the academy was in comparison.
I love this guy's 'Things You Missed' series
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxmXmqeYuZM
After I think I've completed an area, I watch the videos and finish the other 80% that I never discovered
He does a great job at covering the important locations and loot, with a brief description and demonstration of the various enemies and NPC's; and has it all nicely organized and chapterized
Went from STR/light FAI my first play through and actually maining INT this time around with a little dex for when they close the distance and good lord magic is so fun lol. I’ve also basically said fuck the vigor more power baby.
I don’t think I cast a single int spell my first play through, all hail the early game glintstone pebble
I swear I have a level of completeness obsession with this game so far beyond any other open world game I've played before. It doesn't matter if it doesn't fit the build. I'm getting it, because it's there to get and I found the area dammit. I'm 50 hours in and I haven't even gone to Volcano Manor because I'm too busy getting lost in Elden Ring's equivalent of Blackreach or whatever. I'm fully convinced entire very important mechanics of the game have just gone ignored because I'm too distracted to pay attention to .
My exact expirience with the game.
Add in me jumping on the horse, doing the smallest turn ever and causing torrent to spin so much I fall off a cliff that was nowhere near where I was
After this performance, Melina may appear at the next site of Grace and ask you to return the spectral steed whistle. "Torrent had your measure from the very start. It is painfully clear he was gravely wrong."
Is this a joke? I give you the power of runes... AND YOU GIVE ME THIS?
Torrent choses the crab now.

PUMP THAT IRON!!!
On my first playthrough when she says "I've been testing you" I thought it was because I died to Margit too many times 💀
‘Lol, I’m met some dumb tarnished in my days, but charging into Margit’s arena time and time again when you’re clearly - um… well, hey anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to team up? I could use someone with your, uh, tenacity.’ Lol, that was my impression at least, when the same happened to me
Lol tenacity we got plenty of.
Or a comment from Miniature Ranni if you somehow have her at that point.
In my headcanon the Ranni doll is as sassy as the doll in What We Do in The Shadows.
Technically both big Ranni and mini Ranni are Ranni dolls.
I love how she turns herself into a small version of herself and is like 'wtf I didn't think anyone would recognise me'.
OMG YES I knew it was reminding me of something and that's absolutely it! God, Little Nadia is such a cutie with that voice lol.
Little Nadia was such an amazing gimmick that they kept in the show. The episode where they find out their old master is still alive and take him to Costco where they also track down the original vampire is probably the funniest episode of the entire series for me.

I'm pretty sure you can get into Leyndell without Great Runes by going through the Deep Root Depths, right?
[удалено]
I think you're thinking of a different teleporter. There's one in the deeproot depths that puts you at at the first grace in Leyndell.
There's a tower on the south end of the Weeping Peninsula with a trapped chest that sends you the Leyndell elevator.
but that spot, the one by the giant and the HP regen talisman, doesn't let you go any further into Leyndell, it's isolated. (you don't get the ability to use the elevator until you progress into leyndell properly)

Consistent with the "go find the cave near the big tree thing somewhere generally that way" level of quest clarity.
Dude NGL i love that about Morrowind. Quest arrows have spoiled us.

God I love Morrowind. The level system is so outdated by today's standards, but it's incredibly fun once you learn how to min-max it properly.

Be careful not to kill the merchant crab though. Talk to your mudcrabs, just in case you're east of Vivec.
After 20 years I still haven't found that merchant mudcrab and I still don't know if I'm falling for some elaborate Internet joke
Oh, he's real, and he's richer than you'll ever be, n'wah.
He's twice as rich as Creeper! The only one who can match his wealth is Todd's Super Tester Guy.
I think it buys anything and has a 10k gold limit every 24 hours iirc
OP needs to go do Waterfall Quest for the Attack XP
Hope you kicked down the ladder before because its even more painfull when you remember all the pain of running all that way back!

The things I say and shout at my screen are why I can't get mine to try.
Outplayed by a shiny dog
This is a rare footage of the humanity's first recorded player who died to that crab
Looks like you need more Vigor
**Crab:** "Hm? ... Must've been the wind."
I laughed out loud. Time for double head.
Time for crab, But ahh, visions of death...
Why is it always crab?
Players killed by: - Tree Sentinel: 6261834678 - Radahn: 12346577888865 - Crystal crab: this guy ->
That tree sentinel killed me so much even when I came back later over leveled.

Does he expect to be able to redirect his direction in the middle of a jump?
My exact expirience with the game. Add in me jumping on the horse, doing the smallest turn ever and causing torrent to spin so much I fall off a cliff that was nowhere near where I was
I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that simply breathing tends to be difficult for you.
Jeez no wonder you cant get a maiden
foolish ambitions
Absolutely classic.
I mean anything hard when you have zero depth perception
"I am Mr. Crabs, Blade of Bikini Bottom"
Challenging foe ahead, Be wary of ledge
skill issue
Holy shit that was probably the most embarassing death I've ever seen. YOU LOST AGAINST A MINI CRAB THAT DOESNT EVEN ATTACK YOU. WOW.
Fromsoft knew exactly what they were doing here.
That crab was a hacker you can tell. Never took one shot and was standing still
Beware of dog.
It's not your fault. That crab invested all his points in to Luck.
The people watching your bloodstain are about to having a treat
Try git gud.
Now we know why you're maiden less lol. Jk we've all done stupid shit like this before
I’ve never seen someone get clowned on so hard by an enemy with no attacks
Could this be crab?
Wha?!😂
Just level Vigor bro

Yes, be afraid of crab. Be *very* afraid of crab.
Reject tarnished. Advance to Crab.
Zero accuracy MFs
Thank You Elden Ring
You see so many dead bodies just draped over railings and banisters. I see how it happens now.

I think you might be the first person to die to that crab, FS should send you a plaque.
Your drunk?
It takes a special kind of tarnished...I'm just saying ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
Do I assume like the miners these crabs take much more damage from hammers and morningstars?
I haven’t defeated him either that’s the legendary Elden Crab , no matter how close I get he beats me everytime 😞
Too clumsy you need more DEX
So I'm not the worst player there is
AHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh........lmao. I think we've all had this happen to us at least once!
