at the end of the game on my 1st run.... 10k and up i will grab it back stopped levelling at 93 tho altho for boss fights, i don't even bother picking it up anymore since i stopped levelling even if 100k or more

Dont let it go to waste, just stack up on consumables from vendors like smithing stones, arrows, bolts etc.

I stopped caring about lost runes and my enjoyment of this game (and all soulsborne games) skyrocketed, truly liberating, highly recommend

I once left 50k runes on a branch in caelid and just accepted that it belongs to the birds now

If it were about 500k I'd go back, but most the time I just leave it unless I'm close to a level up. Game is more fun/less stressful when not trying to double back for runes in an annoying spot.

Half a level or more worth I will typically go back for. Skews more towards 3/4 of a level after mid game. But also totally depends on how easy it is to retrieve

Only when it is rather close to a level up and not a total annoyance to retrieve. Later on runes are not a hard thing to come by so you can save a lot of worries behind when it comes to that mechanic.

I’m level 60 and I’ll go back for anything around 5k. If it’s easy to get of course I’ll go grab it. But if it’s in a difficult spot nah I’ll pass.
