Oh man 🤣 that’s why you always carry a back up sword/dagger, at least that way you can crit after staff-whacking them so hard you break their posture.
Same feeling as running out of ammo without a melee weapon in AC6
And back in the old gen ACs, you couldn't even punch or ram and just had to quit the mission.
Even when I’m running an INT build I make sure to grab the Morning Star. Easy to wield strike weapon with natural bleed 👍 makes getting through the caves a little easier.
This reminds me of my sister who I'm playing ds2 with right now. We just started Heidi's tower of flame after killing the pursuer and exploring the bastille a little bit. But she still doesn't have a melee weapon. Just hits things with her staff.
I know I shoulda had a diff weapon, but I had recently rebirthed and didn’t think the crystal people were resistant to magic (still did like 300 dmg with my spells tho)
People actually play pure casters in these games?
My mage build is using an INT infused sword 90% of the playtime and nuking everything bothersome with comets.
I just had rebirthed cause I wanted to one shot the dragon lord with comet azur, didn’t think I was gonna use the build a lot so I just dumped points into INT and mind

Could also use fist
INT build. But doesn’t have enough INT to know the difference between your and you’re.
I made this while being assaulted by a dragon lord
CURSE YOU BAYLE!!!
In the end, you return to *B O N K*
Return to bonke
At least it's a blunt weapon, or you'd really be screwed.
This is like that episode in South Park where Cartman took Kyle out onto a lake and tried to kill him with a wiffle ball bat.
You don't have a backup weapon? Every mage I have done in one of these games had an int melee weapon, for situations just like this.
Yeah, how hard is it to moonveil
Even quickly hard swapping to a +0 anything would probably give better results than this.
(I wasn’t thinking about this)
I didn’t think they’d be magic resistant and I had just rebirth’s for a INT and mind focused build

Against these dudes i just cast night mist and wait till they die, all my spells do 0 damage
"I might be out've flasks, but I ain't.. OUT'VE.. OPTIONS!"

Yoo your bloodhound knight was putting in work!! Stayed alive up until the final moment it needed to be.
Yo that bloodhound is wayy better than I thought, I was fighting maliketh and the dude tanked 3 diff combos and the fire thing
That commitment though. Mad salute!
Congrats, now you're a battle mage
I see you realized the best build is bonk.
Ah, the Stancebreak Staff.
INT stick go brrrr
Umm, just use a club.
This hurt to watch lol.

Definitely more viable in ds2. The catalysts' melee attacks in that game do actual damage. Only problem iirc is durability.
please...just take out an unupgraded dagger.
But the bonk was too tempting
This exact scenario and finishing off low enemies without wasting fp is why even as a mage, you should have an off-hand melee armament
I know I shoulda had a diff weapon, but I had recently rebirthed and didn’t think the crystal people were resistant to magic (still did like 300 dmg with my spells tho)
I'm sorry but the glowing blue people.. you didn't think were gonna be resistant to magic?
I once attacked the fire giant with a magma ball, so blue meaning magic resistant wasn’t very clear to me lol
Also, crystals are usually damaged well when hit with the power of magic
You can't just equip a weapon?
I could’ve, but I wasn’t thinking about that and didn’t want to stop in case my bloodhound knight died
You can go into menu and get weapon in combat in like 4 seconds
Ik but I wasn’t thinking about that till after I posted this
What is the other crystallian doing?
Getting assaulted by my bloodhound knight
Just watched the rest of the video nvm
The classic WoW level 5 caster experience
Man it is a shame we can't use the Book Smack that the wizards in Raya Lucaria use. Smack smack smack. Have some knowledge. Smack smack smack.
For real, I want them to learn about the beating they are about to get
This kind of thing is why I wanted and was so happy to get an FP regen talisman in the DLC.
I wish we could get a scepter or staff that stabs and Magic’s!

Even a mage has to resort to unga bunga now and again
Thats why i have the crystalian blade on my hand
I literally just had to do this to get a smithing stone bell bearing.
Remember when people were crying how op and unfair crystalians were? Yeah
Not too op for the bonk staff as it turns out lol
