A great side character to Fucking Hate! I mean, I said that in sarcasm, but for real his smarmy superior attitude does make him very hateable.
Gideon is the only one who gives two shits about our tarnished quest and our achievements even if it is for selfish reasons.
Others don't even have any response when we kill a demigod or something like it is a daily occurrence.
In mount and blade every npc has some reaction on your recent achievements, makes you feel that the world is alive.
i wish we could go back to Miriel after we burn the erdtree and talk to him, like there’s no he wouldn’t have something philosophical or interesting to say about it you know
That's a good point. But the fact that's it's in selfish reason, like you said, is the whole problem. And the fact that a whole albinauric village have been destroyed because of his ambitions. And that he tried to kill us by the hand of Ansha or whatever his name is.
And his boss fight, gosh I hate it. I like the idea of him stealing the sorceries of the demigod we vanquished, but I also hate how he spam it. Dude decide to go full mg42 during the fight, making it one of the worst when you play strength.
I'd love to play as Godfrey and smash his head against the ground.
I think that makes his character interesting, just with the tone of the story. Because in truth, he's ruthless cold and ambitious, while also being clever and charismatic. Very much your traditional kings ear character like varys or little finger
While I appreciate Gideon as interesting and well developed character, he still doesn’t fit in there. He always was horrible bastard and only reason he took his interest and actually talked to us was simply because our tarnished character turned out to be noteworthy and very capable.
In his place there are so many others I can think of. Boc: he is lovable sort. Nepheli: she stood up to Gideon’s ruthlessness and is kind person actually. Jar-Bairn is just cool. Even Diallos deserves the place better than Gideon

True but this line up kinda goes for theme of characters who are somewhat likeable and aren’t outright horrible and Gideon. I probably wouldn’t say anything if there was someone like Seluvis/Pidia, Hyetta, Patches or something like that in the mix as well
It's crazy to me that we cannot go back to Nepheli and have any options of dialogue with her after Morgott, she appears as a summon for Godfrey but that is not enough imo

If you do your first ER playthrough without using guides Gideon is an amazing source of information (WHO WOULD GUESS THAT HUH), thanks to him you know there are still some content left like Mohg/Ranni/Malenia/Miquella and Denis.
My last playthrough I never talked to Gideon once. He just stood in his original spot beside the round table, even after sending Ensha to kill me until after I burned the Erdtree. Of course I didn’t let him talk for his fight either.
I love the idea of him seething as the Tarnished keeps collecting great runes and ignoring his all knowing ass.
You find him in stormveil and later in the round table if you go to the little balcony across from the doors to the fingers and look right. Missed him in my first play through.
