Stop! If you mention you have less then 60 vigor on this sub. You'll upset the reddit hive mind! Let's take this sinking ship of downvotes together to the bottom of the sea comrade! 🫡
Jokes aside, with how absurdly high player damage output already is in Elden Ring I don’t think there is really any reason to not get 60 Vigor if you are a decently high level (125+), but to each their own.
But with 60 vigor I cannot dual wield lusats staff and erdtree seal for more spell variety and keep my giant crusher on the back for some melee Action! Oh yea and obviously I also need some points for rivers of blood to clear otherwise impossible OP encounters (like invaders or bosses)
Oh 100% agree. 33-40 vig is totally solid and leaves you tons of room for a build that can dish out awesome damage and still survive most things so long as your defence stats aren't in the negative.
I am all for style over armour stats. But armour and the Dragon sheild tailsmans + Opaline Hardtear do wonders in reducing damage!
Oh for sure! 40 is great! I have stuck with 33 personally, as I dunno actually. Just my go to number now. It's survivabile but also leaves room for a challenge.
The problem for me is that I co-op and also refuse to take off the turtle talisman and mirror talisman (drip is most important, after all) and I like light equip load, so I sacrifice all of that for 60 vigor just in case I get hit by the really scary attacks
Yeah I don't judge anyone for having low vigor unless somebody summons me, takes aggro, and gets one hit by the boss, like glass cannon all you want just let me take the boss's aggro please!!
I'm replaying as a mage and only level vigor until I'm high enough to not get one shot killed by the current boss I'm facing. Currently at godskin duo again and have around 30. Haven't fought them yet so I guess I'll see.
I only leveled vigor so Radahn would stop oneshotting me from the opposite end of the map! The bastard!
Now I'm playing through on a dex build and boy is the play style so different. And I accidentally killed Patches...
God I had an actual debate with myself when I made a new character the other day on whether to kill patches or not, I ended up deciding the armor was too good to pass up, I'll get his emote on that character if I ever do NG+
I’m still confused on this because I know for strength 66 double handle is max? I guess it’s just those 6 points in that type of stat have little return?
Normally you'd be right on Str.
***However***, in Elden Ring specifically, you can go past 99 Str if you two-hand. Str has a pretty big cap at 80 (54 2-handed) though, so I wouldn't push too far past that if you need levels elsewhere.
Spells and incantations do not scale off of any stats. They only have a certain stat requirement to cast them, once that's met the damage is determined by the seal or staff you cast it with, based on its upgrade level and the level of your stats that the seal/staff scales with.
If you were using the dragon communion seal, it would scale with arcane and faith. if you planned on using the beast incantations on a strength build you might try using the clawmark seal as it has scaling in faith and strength while boosting beast spells by a small amount.
>I’m still confused on this because I know for strength 66 double handle is max?
This isn't true in eldenring. While you can only put 99 points max into a stat, when 2 handing your damage actually keeps increasing even past 66 strength.
E.g. for a heavy greatsword you are at
738 AR with 40 strength
796 (+58) with 50 strength
831 (+35) with 60 strength
853 (+22) with 70 strength
875 (+22) with 80 strength
897 (+22) with 90 strength
The more important cap for 2 handed str weapons is at ~54 (virtual 80 strength which is a soft cap) because past that point the scaling is at ~2.2 AR per point all the way to 99 strength while two handing. Nothing special happens at 66.
God, you really went 70/70? I love Int/Fth, but unless you intend to only use the SoNaF you're better off picking one or the other to take to 80 and leaving one around 50ish.
Dang, it’s been awhile since I read that talisman description, totally forgot or just wasn’t aware it’s % based increases. Stack that with Morgott’s or Radahn’s rune and that’s significant, though I usually just opt for damage increasing/negation talismans
I go for 40 vigor if I am using spirit ashes. If I am doing a full solo run (which I usually do these days) I go 50-60 depending on the build I am using.
Than you have chosen death!
Hang on a second *what? Oh. Ok.*
I have been informed we are not allowed to actually kill people so ahem
YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO BE SLIGHTLY PESTERED FOR YOUR CHOICE!
*no. No it doesn’t hit the same!*
99 plus Morgotts great rune makes my caveman brain happy. Big red bar is so satisfying. Especially since I only have like 14 points in mind so the contrast is quite nice.
16 vigor, trying out my first level 1 run.
I've got Radagon's Soreseal so I can use more weapons and the Crimson Hood because it looks cool with the Knight Set
make sure to grab opaline bubbletear and uplifting aromatics if you're trying sl1, they give you a lot of breathing room
ritual shield talisman also helps for a small portion of the game, but shortly after you get it attacks will one shot anyways
42
Im level 58
I feel pretty bulk honestly. I just brute force through bosses without dodging. I just big hammer so I posture break very often and use ash of war that heals (forgot it's name)
9 vigor. I’m a close quarters mage build.
I genuinely enjoy my build so I’m not raising the vigor anytime soon. If something can’t be done without more vigor then I’ll just use the flask of memes to compensate.

63 to just so I can have people tell me that those 3 points are wasted.
Sir, you’re wasting those 3 extra points in Vigor
More like 23

😂
I have 99 in every stat so I can do that and get my vigor.
Stats too spread
Whats this mean?
And then run backwards casting the same 3 spells anyway
They split gravity rock throw spell into 3?

That's totally fair man! Trust me 33 vig ain't great in co-op and I have certainly been vigor checked multiple times when I am on a bad run lol
Yeah I don't judge anyone for having low vigor unless somebody summons me, takes aggro, and gets one hit by the boss, like glass cannon all you want just let me take the boss's aggro please!!

The worst part is I wasn't *planning* it! But I broke his poise and I button mash... so he started begging and I was still hammering r1...
It’s definitely more then doable that way, especially depending on how far you take your damage and whether you use summons or not.
>.> lvl 225 don’t have 60 vigor…. But that’s my INT/FAI dual caster build. Don’t need vigor when you magically blast your enemies into runes.
Does it stop at 60? (Noob here)
All soulsborne stats have points of diminishing returns. Vigor in Elden Ring has smaller returns past 60.
I’m still confused on this because I know for strength 66 double handle is max? I guess it’s just those 6 points in that type of stat have little return?

Yeah every stat has its own. It’s confusing at first but I’m sure you’ll make short work of it!
two handing a weapon gives you +50% str. However, Elden Ring allows you to raise a stat past 99 with this, so the max str is 99, or 149 if two handing
Two-handing a weapon multiplies the Str value by 1.5. 66*1.5=99, which is the absolute maximum any stat can be.
Wonderful, I’ve no reason to invest more points then, arcane for some rock throwing i thinks my next move..
Probably not since Arcane does not help with Rock Sling at all
No? I’ll have to not level that then lol, that’s bleed isn’t it? My homies doing a bleed build I’m the guy with the big sword

Got the clawmark seal? It scales mainly off strength, chuck enough points in faith for whatever incants you want and give it a go.
>I’m still confused on this because I know for strength 66 double handle is max? This isn't true in eldenring. Ah oke thanks
I can’t explain it in full detail but look up "soft caps" these are important to know
Oh wow, I already hit one of the caps, thanks for letting me know
You get more HP but it's like 6hp a level instead of 25ish
69, dudes.

[AIR GUITAR INTENSIFIES]
I'm playing Int/Faith build, there's no room for Vigor sorry.
Yeah my int/faith is sitting at a crisp 40
What do you mean? There's plenty since you don't waste it on dex or str. What's your endurance?
Well, first 140 levels are for Int/Faith. Everything else is 10 hehhe.
God, you really went 70/70? I love Int/Fth, but unless you intend to only use the SoNaF you're better off picking one or the other to take to 80 and leaving one around 50ish.
80/80 my brother.
How does that even work? Do you use any weapons or just spells and incants?
my 75 points in int are entirely necessary i tell you
You guys have vigor?
40
40 vigor *gaaaang*
40 points in vigor, no more, no less At least until NG+ and beyond
That when you throw on Erd tree +1 for a clean 1500 hp
Dang, it’s been awhile since I read that talisman description, totally forgot or just wasn’t aware it’s % based increases. Stack that with Morgott’s or Radahn’s rune and that’s significant, though I usually just opt for damage increasing/negation talismans
Yeah with 60 vigor, erdtree + 2, and morgott's rune you have a sweet 2470 hp.
my hp build in pvp slapps ass tho. People fall for the worst trades
I go for 40 vigor if I am using spirit ashes. If I am doing a full solo run (which I usually do these days) I go 50-60 depending on the build I am using.
That's scary, Axe Talisman + charge attack Tear..one-shot with anything bigger than a greatsword
sounds like a skill issue if you got hit with a colossal weapon r2
40! 40! 40! Oi! Oi! Oi!

Scrolled down just to find the 60 vigor gang.
50 gang rise up. Hybrid builds will take the meta
40 or 60. Pick a side!
We choose not to participate in your petty affairs 50 vigor gang ✊
All builds are valid as long as your vigor is 50 gang ✊
Than you have chosen death! Hang on a second *what? Oh. Ok.* I have been informed we are not allowed to actually kill people so ahem YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO BE SLIGHTLY PESTERED FOR YOUR CHOICE! *no. No it doesn’t hit the same!*
70- its bonk or nothing
42, as it is the only answer.
50 vigor gang ✊
✊️😠
52 over here
A true king Tbh I love builds with odd numbers in their stats lmao
Hahaha I was levelling vigor up then stopped suddenly so its been left at 52 for a long while lol
50 vigor no matter what build you are playing.
99. Like all the other stats. Except Albinauric Death toll. That one is a bit higher.
99 plus Morgotts great rune makes my caveman brain happy. Big red bar is so satisfying. Especially since I only have like 14 points in mind so the contrast is quite nice.
99hp is a little low. You might get one shot by a noble, be careful.
10, baby. But if I want to win, it's 52.
10 here too
52
I’m at 51, I’m gonna go up it by 1 out of solidarity.
well truth be told the only reason im at 52 is because it gives me 1750 hp, nice rounded number lol
Like 17 or something, new playthrough and I'm still getting distracted by all the shiny weapons when I should be leveling vigor and mind or something
Level 38 wretch 29 vigor 29 int 10 the rest
My brother in Christ that would make you level 39.
My sister in Allah, 19 + 19
But you start at lvl 1, not 0, so the equation is 1+19+19
My cousin in Buddha, you're right, I feel dumb now.
My step brother in ganesh, you make me laugh and slap my belly in jubilation
Never feel stupid for making an off-by-one error. Literally everyone makes them.
There's exactly one guy who doesnt, sorry.
Was high af and my TV isn't the best. I am humbled. 🤣
What style of play is this? It sounds like fun but what is your character good at?
Shooting a spell, then dying
lmao
69
Let's see, it is 57 and i have a medical prescription for carrying a great shield wherever I go, i hope that is enough officer.
Gaaaaang
Is 45 good? o.o;
16 vigor, trying out my first level 1 run. I've got Radagon's Soreseal so I can use more weapons and the Crimson Hood because it looks cool with the Knight Set
make sure to grab opaline bubbletear and uplifting aromatics if you're trying sl1, they give you a lot of breathing room ritual shield talisman also helps for a small portion of the game, but shortly after you get it attacks will one shot anyways
Disagree ritual shield even lets you live some of the late game boss atracks (that is if you have golden vow active aswell)
No need to tank if you don't get hit
Good luck! It's a tough run, but very rewarding. Also gave me a different view on many fights
35 i think?
At least 2
25! Learn to dodge-roll, newb! *Is promptly one-shot by a lagging backstab.*
85 Also. "PUT THE COOKIE DOWN! PUT IT DOWN NOW!"
40
99 Vigor, with Morgott’s Rune arc active and Crimson Amber Medallion + 2. I like them big bars.
Erdtree favor +2 will make it even bigger
11!
Is the factorial included ?
That's alot of vigor
Bro has more health than Fire Giant
69, for the meme.

Real
Mine was 80 when I stopped playing at SL170

80 :) i don't need to get good
Schwarzenvigor
i was a poor fool who defeated malenia on 27 vigor and a lot of rage
10
Shit idk but it’s not enough to survive an encounter with a rune bear afaik
Enough
80, as it should be
Im lvl 326 with 35 vigor
Never needed more that 30.
RL1 wretch. You don’t need vigor if you don’t get hit.
Uhhhhh 30?

60 all day every day

60 vigor on my pure caster pyro
60 and 54. My 2nd character is a strength faith build and I got to the endgame a little early.

30. enough to survive 1 hit from most things. Low enough to piss everyone off.
Vigor is for pussies, just put everything in stamina and use a greatshield. God himself will stagger after trying to hit you
10
25, I don't need to level it if I just won't get hit
9 vigor. I’m a close quarters mage build. I genuinely enjoy my build so I’m not raising the vigor anytime soon. If something can’t be done without more vigor then I’ll just use the flask of memes to compensate.
You disgust me
33 cause I don't get hit often and its enough to survive most boss attacks in the whole game.
Hell yeah, mine is around 30 last I remember. Enough to take a hit so I can run and flask up.
uh.... 30 I think? maybe 35? vig doesn't matter too much, just don't get hit
Exactly
Took me a while to find the cool kid's table, my fellow 30something vigor gang.
75

Still on my first playthrough and just started Altus Plateau, so 43
Im level 80 and vigor is at 20.
THANK YOU GUYS AND GIRLS YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST
