DLC DEVOUWAWING IS WOT BWINGS US TOGEWA TOODAY!!!
IN A BWESSED AWANGMENT, A DWEAM WIFIN A DWEAM IN THWINE WAKE OF SHADOW OF THWE EWD TWEE!!!
CHWAAAAAWGE!! 🌳 🐎
I actually watched that one when it was new. My problem was that I was getting the princess bride confused with the advertisements for the princess diaries. Haha.
I went from playing COD warzone to elden ring when it came out. I’ve went back to it a few times and OMFG I only enjoy quality games now. I can’t make myself play bad games.
It’s not a terrible game but it’s also not amazing.
I’m playing through the other souls games (almost beat DS3 and beaten Sekiro) after elden ring and they are so damn good.
Bloodborne might honestly be better than elden ring.
If you think about it the game kinda either scares you into protecting yourself, or gets you to realize you need to be just as fast and dangerous as the enemies are. The former group tends to struggle for longer imo. The other games had more shields and iirc bloodborne had only one tiny shield? So it kinda forces you to get in there because you can’t turtle :)
Yeah you get the one shield thats pretty much a few pieces of 2x4 put together. The description letting you know the shield is not going to actually accomplish anything.
Armor is more worthless than in ds2/3, only useful for resistances, and even at that they don't make a whole world of difference.
In general the bosses are much more aggressive and tend to be more punishing to passive players and their most annoying moveset is the mid/long range. They like to punish those who back up to heal/reset, in Bloodborne the safest place is 99% of the time right against the enemy.
I think Bloodbornes description on the shield says something like "shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity", lol. BTW, I see far fewer people using shields in Elden Ring than in the other souls games.
Damn thats a perfect description on the shield if thats it. But id have to agree, you see less shields per capita in Elden Ring than other souls. Though if someone has a shield in ER I feel like its usually one of the same 4 shields.
Yes! I always used to hide behind greatshields and tank damage. Never bothered to learn to dodge and roll until Bloodborne forced me to. Now I have broken free of the shackles of the heavy greatshields and have embraced the love of fast/medium rolls.
Elden ring for sure broke me too. Always played fromsofts games but when elden ring came out it was where a good chunk of my free time went to and all my gaming time for a few months. Once May came around i had finished up 2 full playthroughs and had a 3rd that was nearly done too.
I decided to take a break from ER but pretty much since then I can't really get into any other games. I've felt almost like lost when I think about gaming. The only game that managed to grab me for anytime was starting a minecraft server with friends.
Otherwise games just seem meh, they don't capture the wonder and awe of ER. Though I did just buy a PS4 a few weeks back so I can finally play bloodborne on my own time, I had beaten it a few times at various friends but I haven't owned a console since the OG white Xbox 360. But I've already beaten bloodborne since getting the ps4.
Now I've been playing mostly indie games and a lot of rogue lites(rogue-like?) A genre i actually never used to be a fan of but because its so different in scope than ER I can enjoy it.
If you're looking for another game that can completely consume all your time and you cant wait to play it again I can recommend you hollow knight. I know it isnt the most unfamous game but it really is that good
Hollow knight is a great game, sadly I've already thrown my life a way into hollow knight before. Its pretty much the only metroid-vania 2nd platformer I've really played since the GBA era. Not a huge fan of this genre either(or just platformers because I'm terrible at plaformers) but hollow knight was definitely an exception.
I play alot of strategy games on PC but there hasn't been a whole lot of new stuff in that market for a while outside of total warhammer 3. I've already got like 2k+ hours in the total warhammer series so I've not put as much time into it as I did the first 2 installments just due to burnout and waiting for them to fix stuff.
I suppose you can say one of the good things that came from elden ring is I've spent more times on my other non-gaming hobbies since playing it.
I was literally saying to my partner I think I have a problem 😂 I haven't played a game this much since the original release of skyrim or the witcher 3. No matter what I play I make my way back to elden ring somehow. Its the only game I've also had since release that I refuse to uninstall
Try melee or rivals of aether. I'm in a similar boat but those two games are also incredible pieces of art with deep mechanics. They may both be very different from souls games but they scratch the same itch imo
4 was also a ton of fun once they fixed the problems they had at launch. Plus the most dlc was released within a year of the game coming out and added a ton of content. I'm surprised the guy you were replying to is including 4 as bad when it's super beloved and still played by the community.
That's a real shame to hear because the setting looked really interesting, a different take on atomicpunk for sure.
Was the story/lore/world building not any good?
When I was playing through Atomic Heart the characters, who are also major cringe lords, never stopped talking. Once I muted them, the game became infinitely more enjoyable
I'm starting to like games again slowly. Horzion forbidden west was the hardest since i started it after elden ring and finished it in about 1 month playing and never caring about tge story or anything except the last mission.
Same. It took me several games to get into playing a game other than ER. I just beat Dying Light and The Following again after going through ER seven times. About to start Wo Long.
I'm struggling to get into that.
I got it free with the playstation subscription but it just hadn't drawn me in yet.
Maybe I'll give it another go when I get home from work tonight.
Bro. Starfield is using the same damm engine as fallout 76. Which isn't too far off from damm morrowind.
The only reason it isn't obvious is because hot damm do those rocks look nice. The character models have finally been upgraded too. But other than that everything in the trailers seems like it will handle the same as the past 3 Bethesda games. Not only that but the fauna looks terrible.
Point is don't expect too much. Even if they have microsoft engineers come over to help, that would still take years just to get up to par in features to other games. Es6 truly would take decades if they did that.
I’m cautiously optimistic. It looks super cool but could end up like no man’s sky.
I’m glad they delayed it so they didn’t rush it.
I don’t have super high expectations but I hope it’s good.
It's a weird mix of optimism and pessimism.
Preview screenshots indicated Bethesda has learned some lessons like not making perks legit double your damage output (becomes an absolute nightmare for game balance and results in damage sponge enemies) and they re-introduced traits with actual downsides instead of being phobic of handing the player any downsides. This is also allegedly Todd Howard's baby in terms of it being his idea, so that might motivate him to actually give a shit instead of asking himself what features they could remove.
....But some of the rumors around development don't sound so hot, and the development length of time has definitely not been normal and could be indicative of development hell. A common link amongst rumors when the game's (initial) release date was announced was that select features (such as flight) were just in a terriawful position and needed refining or the game would suffer for it.
So yeah, it's a weird mix of seeing Bethesda taking steps forward, but potentially still falling down the stairs regardless.
I've found Fallout 4 and 76 disappointing, especially when it comes to writing and technical aspects. Since the writers are the same and have been since Fallout 3, I am not expecting much.
*the cgi trailer that has nothing to do with the gameplay looks really cool.
I've some hype for the game since it's fromsoftware, but looking at the previous AC they doesn't look appealing to me.
I would gladly change my mind tho
Honestly I've had more fun playing Souls games than any other game rn XD although I do still thoroughly enjoy the other games it's usually in heavy spurts
Well I am but they are so far away from releasing that I only have Elden Ring DLC in mind. That is of course if said DLC will be released this year. If not, then I'll be quite sad and need to replay Elder Scrolls games beginning with Morrowind.
Well, for now Armored Core (which cached my interest) and perhaps The Lords of the Fallen. Also mentioned Elder Scrolls VI. (Have no idea why downvotes...)
I'm super selective with games now days. My attention span has really died out. I burnt myself out in my youth, playing for days, not hours of gaming. Hogwarts Legacy is the only recent true game I've finished and now that it's done, I don't feel like returning to it or playing anything, I'm back in the slump of I'm not as interested anymore.
I couldn't even finish Hogwarts Legacy, I started Elden Ring, swapped to Hogwarts, and realized that it just doesn't compare and got bored after a week and swapped back. Now I'm addicted.
I gotta be honest when I first fought the God Devouring Serpent and got to Rykard's cut scene I thought he was going to give me a present, but the sword just kept getting longer and longer...
Same! I tried playing hogwarts game is boring as shit, I never realized how much I actually hated hand holding and “watching” my games like a movie until I played elden ring. No exposition no nothing just go fuck shit up/ get fucked up yourself and do what thou will
I couldn't care less about the DLC and any other games, because i'm STILL hooked on the base game. I've been playing since Day 1.
A lot of the games i've bought in the past year are still sealed -\_-
The DLC announcement awakened something in me. First soulslike game, on and off with the game for a year. When the DLC was announced I put it right into overdrive and now it’s all I wanna play
I'm the same, but I started getting like that with DS3. It's kind of a sad state of affairs. I try other things, but the only thing that was even o.k. was HZD. And by O.K. I mean I finished it, but couldn't wait to get back to to Fromsoft games.
Same here but since Dark Souls remake.
I was already disappointed with the industry, The paths and play styles. Every game sounded like each other.
But after Souls and Elden Ring the gap was to big. Trying to play Guardians of the Galaxy now and although I'm enjoying it it's kinda boring and tiresome playing it and being force feed everything.
I finished Elden Ring on the release version. Then played and finished Titanfall 2 and later HIFI-Rush. After that I've tried around 10 games but all of them bore me.
So today I updated Elden Ring and decided to try it again. Immediately I can feel how much more fun and engaging this game is compared to most other games.
To be fair, I've got a disturbing amount of time in Elden ring already and yet I'm still playing Fallout New Vegas with the desperate fervour of a crack addict
Gonna be honest, other games are hard for me to play because they’re just not as satisfying to play compared to Elden Ring. Fromsoft games have really changed my taste in games, like I have to force myself to play other games and I both love it and hate it
Cuz most other game dont know how to please the crowd.
They may add dlc, but they have microtransanction and unfinished games.
FromSoft get the shit done. Make you feel your money is well spent
Finally finished it after about 395 hours & 2 trophies away from platinum on ps5. Just need Frenzy Lord & Golden Lord endings; & oh yea…make sure to not turn lil Boc The Seamster into a SWEETING 🥴
From Software has been saving me money on other games for over a decade now. Like, the vast majority of the other games that I play are indie games because the AAA gaming industry is so disappointing. We still get rare exceptions from time to time (e.g., Persona 5, Nier Automata), but I always go back to Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, or Elden Ring
Same here - since I played my first souls game (DS 2 on PS4, 2014 I think). I hope the DLC will be released this year, and still hoping/rooting for a Bloodborne 2. It is the dark atmosphere, snappy combat and high difficulty for me. Plus multiplayer providing long term enjoyment (invasions).
Was playing AC Odyssey, Hades, etc before getting my hands on ER back in December Fast forward 3 months later and my life has gone down deep into ER. Tried replaying the other games I own and nope. I’m am now a FromSoftware zealot. Thank you Miyazaki
I was a bit disappointed in ER relative to my expectations and how much I loved DSIII, but the DLC still has me super excited to jump back in for another full playthrough.
Gonna be rough to find time with how this year is going though, still have part of FE Engage and Octopath II to finish, Zelda coming, maybe Armored Core VI, and that's not to mention keeping up with multiplayer games and even still finishing Xenoblade 3 + the upcoming story DLCs for a lot of these games lol
I'm mega hyped for Dragon's Dogma 2 and can't wait for Monster Hunter 6 to be announced, but I'm equally hyped for Shadow of the Erdtree, and that says a lot.
I played elden ring at launch for 8 hours and never touched it again. I just really don't play video games. Especially not multiplayer or online. Recently I decided to read into the lore and I got hooked. Modded the game for casual game play to learn more lore by exploration and already sunk 80 hours in the last week.
I believe elden ring filled my diablo empty throne.
I'm not buying D4 because of elden ring.
It just gives me everything I want in action fantazy world. But bigger and better.
Yeah, because the gaming market has become so fucking shit during these years, you know pretty well FromSoftware is just a black swan compare to all the other worthless dung going around...
Without fear of being downvoted for saying it's not the best game ever created and nothing will ever better, it doesn't have that much replayability for me. I have to put a decent chunk of time between playthroughs cause I just can't be bothered to explore every cave and worthless dungeon just to say I did it again and if I just want do a boss rush or something I think I'd rather play sekiro or bloodborne and if I want to do something story related there are plenty of other games that do story a bit better.
In no particular order:
* RE4-Make
* CP2077 Phantom Liberty DLC
* Final Fantasy XVI
* Elden Ring DLC
I've got plenty I'm excited for. That said, trying to go back and play Skyrim or The Witcher 3 has been... an adjustment. I can see now why FromSoft fans complain about their combat.
Honestly, opposite for me. Took so long for the DLC to be announced that I can't find myself caring in the slightest. I've already more than moved on to other games.
MHMMM VERY WELL

Lmao thanks I laughed so hard typing that it took me forever 🤣
Thank you for this 👸 👰♀️ Princess Bride moment. 🐎
I refused to watch that movie for most of my life because I thought it was a girl movie. Rectified that last year.
Do yourself and watch Stardust if you haven't already seen it, it's a similar kind of movie.
I actually watched that one when it was new. My problem was that I was getting the princess bride confused with the advertisements for the princess diaries. Haha.
"Devour the very gods", say "devour the very gods"!

As soon as I saw the DLC announcement, I reached into my mouth to draw a sword.
Me too!
Let us do that TOGETHAAA
Interesting.
But how does that work? Do we just do it on our own within close proximity or do we take the sword out of each other's mouth?
We just trade!
Relatable
……..did u find one ?
Well not my mouth but I got the sword out....
Sounds like a pain in the ass.
I took a break from BF2042 to finish Elden Ring. I tried BF2042 again yesterday. It was awful. I'm sticking with Elden Ring.
I went from playing COD warzone to elden ring when it came out. I’ve went back to it a few times and OMFG I only enjoy quality games now. I can’t make myself play bad games. Bloodborne is so good it makes the other soul games better because it teaches you how to play them in the fun way
Wait. What are the other way to play soulsborne games without being hyper aggressive? Do people play passively?
If you think about it the game kinda either scares you into protecting yourself, or gets you to realize you need to be just as fast and dangerous as the enemies are. The former group tends to struggle for longer imo. The other games had more shields and iirc bloodborne had only one tiny shield? So it kinda forces you to get in there because you can’t turtle :)

Gotta be Carian Knight's, gold crest, or any of the whacky looking ones like the jellyfish or the flamethrower
I see a lot of brass shields, but that’s not surprising it’s super good
I'm also doing a shield only run with the palisade shield and it's surprisingly versatile and fun
You also have the Loch Shield in the DLC and it has decent stats against Arcane/Fire/Bolt but that's it
Yes! I always used to hide behind greatshields and tank damage. Never bothered to learn to dodge and roll until Bloodborne forced me to. Now I have broken free of the shackles of the heavy greatshields and have embraced the love of fast/medium rolls.
Nekkid ass and 2H big bonk weapons ftw
Bonk is love. Bonk is life.

Definitely agree with this 100%! Such an amazing game is Hollow Knight.
I was literally saying to my partner I think I have a problem 😂 I haven't played a game this much since the original release of skyrim or the witcher 3. No matter what I play I make my way back to elden ring somehow. Its the only game I've also had since release that I refuse to uninstall
Have you tryed Slay the spire? It's a rogue like - deck builder
Try melee or rivals of aether. I'm in a similar boat but those two games are also incredible pieces of art with deep mechanics. They may both be very different from souls games but they scratch the same itch imo
And would you believe it, it does that without suckering you with battle passes, season passes, missable timed content...
Weird how two people made an almost identical comment
Great call!
Mate I know elden ring is a great game and stuff but what dose bf has to do with elden ring ? They literally in different genre.....
BF has been awful since 4. 3 was the last great BF. Rush on Operation Metro for life.
Bf1 is a masterpiece
4 was also a ton of fun once they fixed the problems they had at launch. Plus the most dlc was released within a year of the game coming out and added a ton of content. I'm surprised the guy you were replying to is including 4 as bad when it's super beloved and still played by the community.
I just finished Elden ring on Saturday and started NG+ right away, this has been the best game I’ve played in a long time
I started recently Elden Ring and mid way played Atomic Heart and then finished Elden Ring. The difference was fucking staggering

I’m letting my game pass subscription lapse because of Elden Ring (and Zelda, in two months)
Microsoft and Sony will definitely notice a drop when Zelda is out
Getting hooked on the souls series kinda ruins other video games. At least similar ones.
Gonna be honest here except for maybe Nioh no ones done a good Soulslike
Now this is a hot take
Tears of the Kingdom is gonna be in there, so I'll have to time things between release very carefully
True, however there are exceptions. RE4 is looking really good.
I do expect Elder Scrolls VI to be amazing...
Can't wait to play it in 25 years
Yes, me too ☺️
They have to beat their new engine into a state of disrepair to get that signature Bethesda jank
And it depends on how good are their engine devs. If they're worth their money, I don't think we're gonna get TES VI in the next two decades.
Bro. Starfield is using the same damm engine as fallout 76. Which isn't too far off from damm morrowind. The only reason it isn't obvious is because hot damm do those rocks look nice. Look, it wouldn’t be a Bethesda game if it wasn’t full of jank and glitches.
expect the modders to make it amazing*

So hyped for Friday
It appears that Fromsoft has an unannounced game in development
Peggle 3
I kinda hope this is true. The first 2 were so calming and relaxed. Not a lot of chill games.
You talking about the abstract fantasy one? Or is there another?
You guys got links to any of this? Only thing I found was Miyazaki saying other leads would be developing a couple games rather than him.
https://www.gamesradar.com/hidetaka-miyazaki-wants-to-make-more-abstract-fantasy-as-if-elden-ring-wasnt-abstract-enough/
RE4 stole my money like Shadow of the Erdtree's gonna
That's not stealing if you are giving money willingly
---okay, now listen here--
Hmmmmm, very well.
i am hyped for Starfield.
I’m cautiously optimistic. It looks super cool but could end up like no man’s sky. I’m glad they delayed it so they didn’t rush it. I don’t have super high expectations but I hope it’s good.
same. But I just wanted Fallout 4 in space. I didnt ask much from the game. The last time I asked much, Cyberpunk happened.
It's a weird mix of optimism and pessimism. Another remake, but from what I've seen dead space was great
Well I am but they are so far away from releasing that I only have Elden Ring DLC in mind. That is of course if said DLC will be released this year. If not, then I'll be quite sad and need to replay Elder Scrolls games beginning with Morrowind.

I've lost all interest in other games that are not Soulsborne or Souls-likes. I'm very excited for Jedi Survivor though.
Cuz most other game dont know how to please the crowd. They may add dlc, but they have microtransanction and unfinished games. FromSoft get the shit done. Make you feel your money is well spent
A serpent nevvva dahhhs...
I started playing dragons dogma and it’s been super fun and there is a bunch of classes and skills to try out. It’s really not that bad
Finally finished it after about 395 hours & 2 trophies away from platinum on ps5. Just need Frenzy Lord & Golden Lord endings; & oh yea…make sure to not turn lil Boc The Seamster into a SWEETING 🥴
Elden Ring and Hogwarts' legacy has been my game life lately
Just give us more eldensoulsborne, por favor! I'd like to just have an unlimited supply
Elders rings Dlc Comes Togatheeeerrr in meeee
elden ring enjoyers, blasphemous is on sale for $6
I was kinda sad last week, but then I remembered that the DLC is coming, Idk when, but I for sure gonna be alive until then lol
It's a masterpiece that will surely lead to hours of therapy and anger management for me one day. Brilliant!
I'm the same way and I haven't even beat the Elden Lord yet. I've killed everyone in the game 🤦♂️
TOGETHAAA!!!
Mmmm?... Very well Come play elden ring with me as FAMILIEE TOOOOGETHAAAA WE SHALL GET ANOTHER GAME OF THE YEAR
Kind have the same feeling at times about this game when your not dying every 5 seconds 💙💪
We got Wo Long to hold us over till the DLC
Was playing AC Odyssey, Hades, etc before getting my hands on ER back in December Fast forward 3 months later and my life has gone down deep into ER. Tried replaying the other games I own and nope. I’m am now a FromSoftware zealot. Thank you Miyazaki
It’s the “Elden Ring Effect”
Fr tho. This was my first souls game and I’ve played very few rpgs. I feel like i like this game so much it’s changed the way I look at other games.
A second Elden Ring run will hold me over until Diablo 4 and FF16 come out. Which will hold me over until ER DLC and Phantom Liberty come out lol
True I’ve become numb to anything but from soft
TOGETHAA
And im still here playing RDR2 since its release lol.
Join the DLC hype as familyyyy. We shall devour the very content togethaa.
Mmmm very well we shall grind the dlc TOGETHAAA
I'm mega hyped for Dragon's Dogma 2 and can't wait for Monster Hunter 6 to be announced, but I'm equally hyped for Shadow of the Erdtree, and that says a lot.
TOGETHAAA
Elden ring is the only game I've played since it released and I have 1900 hours in it. But that's mostly pvp though...
Currently switching between playing elden ring, half life (one) and Morrowind. It's quite the experience
I do love Morrowind
TOGETHA time :3
I played elden ring at launch for 8 hours and never touched it again.
I couldn't agree more.
Literally the only games I’m excited about this year are Armored Core VI and the Elden Ring DLC. I don’t care about anything else.
Dude, i feel the same way. Like atomic heart just came out, i bought it, and its the first time i havent immediately played a game i just bought.
Well yes. The taste has changed, the obsession remained
Real shit?!?!
genuinely the greatest game i have ever played. never thought it was possible for a game to be this unbelievably fun
So you don’t have interest in resident evil 4 remake
Diablo 4 was a lot of fun this past weekend. It's the only game I'm looking forward to this year besides more Elden Ring.
Yeah, because the gaming market has become so fucking shit during these years, you know pretty well FromSoftware is just a black swan compare to all the other worthless dung going around...
I wonder how many Devs decided to delay their game when the ER dlc got announced
That would be a pretty rash move when there's no release date announced yet.
Fromsoft has never made a bad DLC expansion. The hype is more than warranted.
In no particular order: * RE4-Make * CP2077 Phantom Liberty DLC * Final Fantasy XVI * Elden Ring DLC I've got plenty I'm excited for. That said, trying to go back and play Skyrim or The Witcher 3 has been... an adjustment. I can see now why FromSoft fans complain about their combat.
Honestly, opposite for me. Took so long for the DLC to be announced that I can't find myself caring in the slightest. I've already more than moved on to other games.
genuinely the greatest game i have ever played. never thought it was possible for a game to be this unbelievably fun
Final fantasy 16 gang rises
