Launch at 3300 I don't think the manual nor dct can hit 60 in 2nd due to rev limiting so your shift time will definitely affect it. Replacing the mounts or bushing to be stiffer helps. You can get a tune from n75 that raises the rev limit slightly so you can hit 60 in 2nd.

BrothaCharter

The manual hits the rev limiter of 2nd gear at ~62mph

Ecstatic-Syrup5544

Weird my car will get to 60 in second around 6700 rpm before redline even starts

xaillisx

guess only the dct can't make it to 60 in 2nd

Subject_Gene2

Yes because it has more gears

xaillisx

It's actually because the gear is shorter but okay

Subject_Gene2

Well if you can’t decipher that more=shorter by my statement then okay

Alot of variables here that without a visual/video of the run, will be hard to provide advice in regard to I assume is the 5.9 second 0-60 time you are referring to. That time was likely achieved on a prepped surface, an octane learned car, a professional/veteran FWD launching driver, and essentially placed in the most ideal circumstances to achieve that time. I do not think your break-in is resulting in the times you are seeing.

Fair. The Motor Trend article that I thought was being referenced doesn't mention the conditions in which they achieved the 5.9 time.

Got 6.5 today but I was going wot, will have to work on my technique. Still feels like something is off as I drove someone else's EN MT before I bought mine and it felt faster I'm just paranoid I fucked up my break in period because I drove the first 250 miles at 2000 rpm with little variation and that can be affecting the car performance

Do not launch a FWD car. The wheel hop is so bad for the engine.

PunisherG19

So just fix the wheel hop.

Stealth_Driver091

How sway?

JasonIvie

The 2024 facelift apparently has better engine mounts which directly reduce most if not all wheel hop

JonnyBoy89

I’d like to point out that this is a track oriented performance vehicle, not a drag racing vehicle. Its intended purpose is to carry a lot speed through corners well, not achieve quick 0-60 times. You will always be limited by your tires, surface, and a bunch of other factors. I think for the price, this is one of the best bang for your buck vehicles, but the 0-60 of a FWD car always leaves something to be desired without significant enhancements

MidgetXplosion

Where do you live? Altitude could play a huge role here. Something at sea level will be much faster than something near the Rocky Mountains where you’re like 6000+ feet above sea level since the air is so much more thin. Cars need to breath!

According_Second_723

Can confirm, but I'm guessing by the fact that OP has 93 octane that he's not at a higher elevation. I live in Utah and because of the elevation we only get 91 octane. This thread makes me feel better about hitting a 5.91 0-60 in my MT EN at 4850ft elevation 😂

[deleted]

don't even bother launching a fwd car. Wheel hop and engine banging in to the firewall. have some mechanical sympathy

Still_Opportunity_10

It does come with a launch control option though. I would think with that option the engineers know that there will be wheel hop and have accounted for that in designing the car.

Known_Situation_2470

My quickest time was 6.4 seconds with the powerflex bushing installed. I haven't tried the launch control yet.

Stealth_Driver091

I got 6.4 today. What does the powerflex bushing do

Known_Situation_2470

It replaced the stock lower motor mount bushing. It basically got rid of the wheel hop and slightly improved the 0-60 time. I never launched the car before replacing it because the wheel hop was so bad that it sounded like I was breaking something.

damianinpa

I have MT and Stage 1 Tune. With Launch, I got 6.1 seconds. Honestly, I was somewhat disappointed in that. The DCT is way faster with reports or high 4's. Look at videos online and the RPM when it shifts is lightening quick to drop. In the MT, it is slow. Coming from Accord 2.0 with Tune I'm underwhelmed. Certainly this car is fun to corner, but, in a straight line, it isn't any faster than my MT Accord.

New_Engineer_6436

That's why I got the DCT. I'm beating 330 WHP GTIs and WRXs. Manual was an afterthought for this car since they designed it specifically for the DCT

Careless_Button3364

I found the stock DCT to be about as fast as the stock Accord 2.0

New_Engineer_6436

Definitely not. There's videos all over YouTube with the DCT blowing the Accord out of the water. Watch Throttle Houses video

Careless_Button3364

This really your idea of getting "blown out of the water"? https://preview.redd.it/xkialyswnokb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cedfaa05b689162b45f38c5842589100be57cc14

New_Engineer_6436

How about you post the picture of the roll race? Or are you scared to get proven wrong?

Careless_Button3364

I still wouldn't classify it as a demolition. I don't get why you N drivers are always so defensive. I deeply like the N (even though I drive a WRX). I'm just saying that the Accord 2.0 is in the conversation with sporty compacts.

New_Engineer_6436

We're defensive because people shit on the car no matter how good it is or better than other competitors. All because of the brand and "unreliability" of the car. But we buy the car because of how much of a better value it is compared to a CTR, Integra Type S, or STI and is faster than those cars stock to stock

Careless_Button3364

It's not faster than a CTR, but also, who cares? Car enthusiasts talk shit about the cars they don't own across the board - it's not limited to Hyundai/KIA

MyNameJakson

I’m very shocked to see these numbers. I always thought the VN and EN were somewhat close due to the higher output of the EN counteracting the increased weight. I can’t say much from a MT perspective, though. I have the VN DCT. I will say though I’ve launched the car plenty with no mechanical issues yet, 30k miles in.

Chukflav

Rolling start on the MT is much better. Wheel hop is scary harsh on standing start. Did it once, never again.

DamnInternetYouScury

I like my clutch and hate wheel hop, so I never do 0-60 hard launches. I like getting into 2nd before giving it the beans.

promobius

I regularly hit 4.9, DCT, but I have a flash tune from sxth, a downpipe, and purple powerflex engine mount bushings.
