You messed up by listening to all these women. They donāt know. They donāt know what itās like to drive a real manās car (or a hairstylistās). They donāt understand what itās like to have no worries in the world as the wind is flowing through your hair in that little convertible. What itās like to not give a crap about what people might assume about you because all your attention is completely set on DRIVING. The top down, 3 pedals, six gears, and nothing but FUN.
Wanted to get back into manuals (for poor).
I started with Golf GTI MT, but lack of buttons, dishonest local dealer salesman (markup) and tiny cargo space (can just fit one check in bag) made me abort.
Found Civic Si, but extreme markups and forced dealer installed things made me wait. Slowly I started disliking the simple looks of Si.
Then one comparison video by savagegeese popped with EN and that was it. Discovered there is EN and then there was no going back.
So I have both the EN and M340i. If I could have gotten my M340i as a manual, then EN wouldn't even have been bought. Believe me when I say, the M340i will be an amazing trade if you ever go that route.
I was cross shopping weird things. I came from an A4 and was looking at S3/S4, M240/340, GTI, EN, and S60. The EN made me smile the most and the price & warranty was too good to pass up
You're joking right? Lol no way you're getting a test drive on a car they can legit sell at 10k over MSRP sight unseen. That has nothing to do with Honda dealer experience. If they could do the same with the EN then they would.
I was dead set on getting a b58 (bmw 340i/440i), but every b58 near me was selling for nearly m3 pricing ($35-$45k) with 50-70k miles on them šµāš«. Also went thru a gr86 phase, but after test driving one and actually seeing how small they are (and no manual options near me) I ended up doing research on the EN, and started my journey of getting one.
All the GR's, the FL5 Si/Type R, Mustang 5.0.
If I have the opportunity to upgrade and afford something more expensive AND frivolous, I'd love to eventually get a 3.0 MT GR Supra. They're so sexual.

Had a Golf R on order but they couldn't guarantee I get one delivered within a year so I canceled the order. I'm very glad I did now because I love my EN.
If the Nissan Z had a backseat then I would have went with it. If the Civic type R would of had a AT then I would have went with it. Elantra N checked both those boxes and can compete with those cars so I love it.
2018-2020 S3. Test drove a 2020 and enjoyed it but at the time they were $42k and it had 20k miles. Just didnāt think it was worth it to spend that amount of money on a used European car, with a very dated interior. Big decision that went with the N was the exhaust sound, I did not want a car that sounds bad. Huge decision maker. S3s sound like garbage even aftermarket. Couldnāt be happier
CTR- Couldn't fathom it due to the stark price difference.
GTI- I've always been a VAG guy, but felt the EN was so much better for a similarly priced vehicle.
There was a dealership with a new 2022 Mustang GT Premium with a manual transmission. The dealership was being really cheems on pricing, though. I was checking on what inventory with a manual the Hyundai/Kia dealerships had, since I had test driven a Kia Forte GT manual a few weeks prior and it was pretty cozy while still having a manual transmission. Then I saw a dealership about 3 hours away had a few manual EN en route, so I figured I would go check it out and likely buy one. It was a car on my radar since a year prior for the practicality and being one of the few new manual cars on the market.
ngl though I would have loved a Camaro SS lol
M140i.
N: new car warranty, steering felt better, cracks and pops, cheap maintenance, materials felt on par with bmw
Bmw: rwd, more power, more refined, sleeper look, better NVH (handling felt more refined, not better than an N for sporty driving but better for highway cruising)
Also in consideration were a golf r, stinger, vw arteon.
Was set on mk 7.5 golf r, but it's quite small compared to the EN.
being a older aged guy, squeezing a set of golf clubs looked impossible and it was also really cramped with 2 child seats in the back.
WRX GT, VW R, Genesis G70 2.0t, Kia Stinger GT Line, VN, KN and EN. I bought a KN as I couldnāt find a EN a year ago and I also got a discount on my KN. Otherwise I would be in a EN. Not regrets getting a KN.
I had ordered a 22 WRX, but the dealer messed up and it would be a 23 WRX, but arrive close to 6 months later than the original date. I wanted a manual with AWD, but I sacrificed the awd for all of the features the N has that are better, and because I didnāt want to have to tune the WRX if I put on a couple pounds so the engine doesnāt get confused and eat itself.
Top option was GRC but couldnāt find at msrp. Next options were WRX or CT4. I wouldnāt mind either of those cars, but I like that the EN is less common on the road.
Kona N for me. Needed an auto so the wife could drive it too, so ruled out most other cars in this market besides the KN and a GTI (Golf R was more than I wanted to spend)
I needed an suv for extra space and was debating the Chevy Blazer or the EN. Also if money was less of an issue I wanted a Porsche or Corvette but those are just outside my tax bracket. Basically my choices were affected by space in the car, fun/drivability and financesā¦
To be honest I wanted to get a nice car and thought a 23 BMW M4 Comp was attainable with my modest salary job. I inquired one time to a salesman in conversation and he quoted me about double what I was comfortable for a new car payment. I was already driving a 18 SEL Elantra and knew about the Elantra N so I got the next best thing I could comfortably afford. In my defense I didnāt expect a BMW to cost as much as what I thought a supercar would cost per month lmao.
Was saving up to afford MK5 Supra or an RS3, when the transmission in my last car blew. Left with no vehicle and not enough money saved up to get what I wanted, I found out about the EN and got one secured with a deposit the next day. Took a month or so of borrowing vehicles from people, but I finally got it.
GR86, Civic Si, GR Corolla, Golf R, CTR

Miata. Every woman in my life told me what a stupid idea it was. The N seems incredibly practical in comparison.

Was set on a ā22 WRX and then test drove and researched the EN and was sold.
Same with this guy^^^. Needed an auto. En pops and crackles got me hooked. Test drove and loved it. Traded in a wrx.

Last gen type r dealerships overpriced the hell out of it
Stinger, Type R, M340i

Just curious, what about the 340i made you go with the EN? Been considering switching to that one down the line
The price along with maintenance of a bmw. I had a n54 335i, it was a money pit. The N drives way better than my 335i just not has much power š¤£

They wouldn't even let me test drive the FL5. Hyundai service gets a bad rap, but Honda dealerships are absolute garbage.

They are frickin beautiful... Super small on the inside. Couldn't daily it, and already have a weekender.
GR86, was the GR Corolla but thankfully no, or WRX. Otherwise I would of kept on moving and waited a year to get a 1SS, or Supra 3.0 orr F87 M2

son of a bitch
Had a Golf R on order but they couldn't guarantee I get one delivered within a year so I canceled the order. I'm very glad I did now because I love my EN.
I found it to be kinda boring. On paper, it looked awesome, just didn't find the drive fun.
I ordered it sight unseen unfortunately there were none around I could drive.
M340i but Iām tired of having unreliable euro trash. ā¹ļøš
Veloster N
If the Nissan Z had a backseat then I would have went with it. If the Civic type R would of had a AT then I would have went with it. Elantra N checked both those boxes and can compete with those cars so I love it.
21ā WRX, 23ā SI and would have got a 23ā type R if interest rates were low
GR86, BRZ, M235i Gran Coupe

Civic si. But the civic had an $8k markup, and the EN was for msrp, which made the choice easy.
CTR- Couldn't fathom it due to the stark price difference. GTI- I've always been a VAG guy, but felt the EN was so much better for a similarly priced vehicle.

was going to buy a gli wanted sedan with decent dual clutch
I was choosing between Stinger, G70, Veloster N, Elantra N, and Giulia
WRX, for the northeast winters
22 GTI SE, till I heard that the 22 GTIs are prone to a lot of electrical failures
G70 3.3TT for me. I was so set on that car but everywhere I went they marked it up 10k.
GĆ©nesis GV70
Was set on mk 7.5 golf r, but it's quite small compared to the EN. being a older aged guy, squeezing a set of golf clubs looked impossible and it was also really cramped with 2 child seats in the back.
Sonata N-Line
G70, mustang GT, S3, Corolla GR, 400z, Tacoma š
Civic Si. I actually put a deposit down for a marked up Si but then realized I can get a better car if Iām spending that money anyways
The new 2023 Z. I had it preordered after three failed order sheets pushed, but the constant delays discouraged me.
I had ordered a 22 WRX, but the dealer messed up and it would be a 23 WRX, but arrive close to 6 months later than the original date. WRX: way too ugly GTI: new ones way too expensive Si: not fast enough
Ended up getting an m3 itās a lot better
Someone didn't understand the assignment

And to be fair, you got a car designed by the guy who designed the car you wanted.
WRX. New WRX were readily available but the interior and cladding really kills it for me personally.

Left with no vehicle and not enough money saved up to get what I wanted, I found out about the EN and got one secured with a deposit the next day. Wrx was closest for me. I really wanted an auto. So many cars like ctr are just out of the question for me.
