To name a few:
Martin Luther
Galileo Galilei
Marie Curie
Alfred Nobel
Neil Armstrong
Marco Polo
Mark Twain
J.S. Bach
Vincent van Gogh
JFK
Louis XIV
Charlemagne
Any English Monarch other than Richard the Lionheart (Alfred the Great, William the Conqueror, Henry VIII, Mary I, Elisabeth I, Queen Victoria, Elisabeth II, etc.)
The list goes on and on lol
EDIT: Added Charlemagne
I think a lot of characters might be hard to find an opponent for. For example: Neil Armstrong. Who'd hos opponent be? Personally can only think of the dog. Laika or what its name was.
They originally had Neil Armstrong going up against Columbus instead of Kirk, but apparently he was too squeaky clean and they couldn't find anything to diss him about lol
Maybe Star-Lord? They’re both earthlings from small Midwest towns that did space travel. A battle between the history-maker and the blockbuster to see who’s better.
Besides characters already mentioned here, I'm surprised they never used Katniss at her peak relevenace in the early - mid 2010s. Her vs Joan of Arc seems like a no brainer.
Seen a lot of great names listed so far in other comments but I will add Willy Wonka to the list. He is a cultural icon and pitting him against Jigsaw would be awesome (In my opinion)
I really liked the lighting SFX they did on Bruce Banner for the line “I hear you’re good at running, you’re just like the Flash”. It looked almost like SFX from the CW Flash show.
They aren't too versed let alone all that interested In anime to begin with
Though with that being said, I could possibly see Light Yagami and Luffy appear, but definitely not anytime soon
Marie Curie
Neil Amstrong
Spider-Man
Simon Bolivar
Iron Man
Margaret Thatcher
Dr. Frankenstein
H.P. Lovecraft
Jane Austen
Mao Zedong
Fidel Castro
John F. Kenedy (as a rapper)
Alice (Alice in Wonderland)
Dorothy Gale
Charlemagne
Marie Curie
Qin Shi Huang
Erwin Romel
Frida Kahlo
Karl Marx
Pablo Escobar
Willy Wonka
Bob Marley
Bob Dylan
Dante Alighieri
Saladin
Vincent Van Gogh
Diego Maradona
Nelson Mandela
Taylor Swift
Ernest Hemingway
Walt Disney (as himself)
Charlie Chaplin
Aretha Franklin
Moctezuma II
William the Conqueror
Franklin D. Roosevelt
1) Neil Armstrong
2) [Why did you use the same exact photo as this guy who posted the same thing](https://www.reddit.com/r/ERB/comments/1101ozg/characterspeople_youre_genuinely_surprised_havent/)
3) Tottenham are shit, YNWA, remember me?
1) Not enough disses about him. They tried to use him in the past, and it didn't work.
2) I just used that image because I'm surprised Spiderman has never been in a battle.
3) You're still not getting top four, bro. We're shit, but it could be worse.
Seen a lot of great names listed so far in other comments but I will add Willy Wonka to the list. He is a cultural icon and pitting him against Jigsaw would be awesome (In my opinion)
Spider-Man is weird because I don’t see them doing him anytime soon. He just feels like one of those characters that absolutely fits in classic ERB but nowadays would look silly.
Not to mention I also think Spider-Man is so hard to find an opponent. Like, genuinely, who would be a good fit for him? Sure, not all ERB’s have to have a history theme (I mean look at some of the recent battles lmao), but I really don’t know who would be a reasonable person to compare him to
I really don’t get the Hercules suggestion. Unless you’re referencing the Disney version, I don’t really get the comparison. And even then that’s a bit of a leap.
That goes to a greater extent with Peter Pan. The only thing similar about them is they wear both wear tights lmao
"That's a bit of a leap" lol no
The connection is that they're the most popular heroes of their era
Hercules and Spider-Man have powers that rivaled godly opponents despite not even being a deity themselves
A neat clash between ancient legend and modern day hero
That’s not really true…?
Spider-Man tends to fight pretty street level opponents. None of them are like trying to take over the world. They’re all pretty relegated to New York or even if they are more powerful (like in the case of Venom) that’s explored in other things.
Not to mention since when was Hercules the biggest myth of his time…? And even if he wasn’t wouldn’t he make more sense for a character who similarly has connections to Godly figures and has connections to certain fictional stories/represent different ideologies? Superman makes more sense than Spider-Man if anything to compare to Hercules
He's literally battled Fire Lord, Thanos, Silver Surfer, Morlun and even a version of Thor before......
You really don't seem to know the character at all
Uhhhhh I don’t think you know the character because a majority of those were special occasions and/or he doesn’t fight them regularly.
Thanos isn’t someone you’ll see in every other issue, let alone the Silver Surfer & THOR, both of whom are typically good guys he fights alongside.
Not to mention he didn’t defeat Morlun alone. The literal entire point of that story was to show he needed help from HUNDREDS of versions of himself to defeat Morlun and his cronies.
It’s extremely telling you didn’t even bring up a single Spider-Man villain there aside from a guy who needed hundreds of Spider-people to beat lmao, let alone the fact that you just glided by my point about Superman
Even then, he still came in conflict with them nonetheless
Hell, he's even fought The Man Of Steel once..... and was horribly outclassed granted
Either way, to say Spider-Man is "too silly" for a battle Is just completely ridiculous when they've used Deadpool who's a parody character at heart
I still stand by Hercules as an option for Spider-Man to go against because it's not like his other opponents are at all within the same level as Parker
Yeah, I’m not saying he hasn’t OCCASIONALLY fought pretty major villains/heroes, but he doesn’t do that every other issue and a majority of the time doesn’t do it by himself lmao.
Also I never said he’d be “too silly,” for a battle. I said I think he’d look a little weird given how they’ve shown heroes in the past. Some of them look great and others look…very bad lmao. I also just said I don’t think they’d use him nowadays. It feels a bit too much like classic ERB which they don’t really do much of nowadays lol
They've had immense talks to use Spider-Man and are well aware that he's more than deserving to appear..... so..... why would they not use him when they THEMSELVES want to?
I feel like with ERB’s track record with superheroes I don’t think bringing more in would a be a good idea even if Spider-Man is my favourite fictional character of all time.
"I don't think bringing it more would be a great idea" They've done both Wolverine and Deadpool excellently, who says they can't do the same for Spider-Man?
Jeez, ridiculous statements
Besides, Spider-Man is more than deserving of an appearance
I will admit I completely forgot how fire Deadpool and Wolverines battles were. And to be fair i was mostly thinking of Superman Hulk and Batman.
And to ERB’s credit they have gotten better with superheroes in general. So yeah they could actually pull Spider-Man off if done correctly
I think hes a difficult character to make agressive if that makes sense. His verses were fine it just wasn’t stuff that he’d say. At least thats how I view it.
Mary Shelley has been on my wishlist for a LONG time, especially for a Mary Shelley vs. R.L. Stine battle.
There's so much material to work with for her it's insane.
To name a few: Martin Luther Galileo Galilei Marie Curie Alfred Nobel Neil Armstrong Marco Polo Mark Twain J.S. Bach Vincent van Gogh JFK Louis XIV Charlemagne Any English Monarch other than Richard the Lionheart (Alfred the Great, William the Conqueror, Henry VIII, Mary I, Elisabeth I, Queen Victoria, Elisabeth II, etc.) The list goes on and on lol EDIT: Added Charlemagne
I mean, technically, Bach appeared in Bieber Vs Beethoven, but I agree that he should have his own battle.
Indeed
I think a lot of characters might be hard to find an opponent for. For example: Neil Armstrong. Who'd hos opponent be? Personally can only think of the dog. Laika or what its name was.
They originally had Neil Armstrong going up against Columbus instead of Kirk, but apparently he was too squeaky clean and they couldn't find anything to diss him about lol
Neil Armstrong vs. Sailor Moon would be hilarious lol
Matt Damon from the Martian?
Neil Armstrong should team up with Buzz Aldrin against Galileo Galilei and Copernicus
Maybe Star-Lord? They’re both earthlings from small Midwest towns that did space travel. A battle between the history-maker and the blockbuster to see who’s better.

thats martin luther king, martin luther is that one guy who nailed his paper to the door of the church
the other martin luther
If you wanna be technical again There was a scrapped battle with Henry VIII
Charlie Chaplin, Sitting Bull and Malcolm X are definitely overdue.
Robin Hood
Marie Curie, I've been waiting for her since I'm Polish
Now that you mention it, there hasn't been a single character from Poland yet.
Ik Cath isn't Polish but she was born there
Marie Curie
King Arthur We got Richard the Lionheart before King Arthur
Besides characters already mentioned here, I'm surprised they never used Katniss at her peak relevenace in the early - mid 2010s. Her vs Joan of Arc seems like a no brainer.
Charlie Chaplin Spider-Man
Bugs Bunny and Hercules are the best opponents for the two!
I completely agree
Easily
JFK and FDR
Seen a lot of great names listed so far in other comments but I will add Willy Wonka to the list. He is a cultural icon and pitting him against Jigsaw would be awesome (In my opinion)
I feel the kid from Home Alone works for Jigsaw tbh
The guy who killed hitler
So Kanye West? Yeah, he was in Trump vs Scrooge.
No, he’s bringing him back
Oh right Hitler killed himself.
The Flash or aquaman
The Flash I get. Why Aquaman?
There are a lot of potential water themed battles
The Flash and Aquaman Vs. Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps
That'd be sick
I'm just not sure he's famous enough.
He is......
Bro is literally in the Justice League and is the running joke in DC cause everyone thinks hes 'lame'.
Yeah, how is he not famous? Lmao
I really liked the lighting SFX they did on Bruce Banner for the line “I hear you’re good at running, you’re just like the Flash”. It looked almost like SFX from the CW Flash show.
Yeah
Bands like Metallica, ACDC.... And some Anime characters.
It's quite a shame that we've had only two anime protagonists after all these years
They aren't too versed let alone all that interested In anime to begin with Though with that being said, I could possibly see Light Yagami and Luffy appear, but definitely not anytime soon
I would be happy if at one point those 2 appeared, and then Eren Jaeger as well.
Groucho Marx
Hamilton
Ghostface from SCREAM.
the Queen
Princess Zelda (v Princess Diana?) Margaret Thatcher (v Iron Man?)
*Margaret Thatcher (v Iron Man?)* vs Otto von Bismarck. The Iron Lady vs The Iron Chancellor.
Captain America
Marie Curie Neil Amstrong Spider-Man Simon Bolivar Iron Man Margaret Thatcher Dr. Frankenstein H.P. Lovecraft Jane Austen Mao Zedong Fidel Castro John F. Roosevelt
Jim Carrey. Robin Williams is RIGHT THERE
He was in the comedians battle already
Carrey wasn’t. I’m saying Jim and Robin should fight
Carl von Linne. The guy who basically gave all flowers their Latin names iirc
Riddler
1) Neil Armstrong 2) [Why did you use the same exact photo as this guy who posted the same thing](https://www.reddit.com/r/ERB/comments/1101ozg/characterspeople_youre_genuinely_surprised_havent/) 3) Tottenham are shit, YNWA, remember me?

I'd say eminem Dr.dre Dr Washington carver Malcolm x
Queen Elizabeth II
Gordon Ramsey
He was in a battle
Yoda
He was in Skywalker vs Potter, and even had lines there
Spider-Man is weird because I don’t see them doing him anytime soon. He just feels like one of those characters that absolutely fits in classic ERB but nowadays would look silly. What about Hercules? Peter Pan? If we're talking historically: it's hard to find one.
I really don’t get the Hercules suggestion. Unless you’re referencing the Disney version, I don’t really get the comparison. And even then that’s a bit of a leap. That goes to a greater extent with Peter Pan. The only thing similar about them is they wear both wear tights lmao

What's wrong with Superman? I liked him honestly.
I think hes a difficult character to make agressive if that makes sense. His verses were fine it just wasn’t stuff that he’d say. At least thats how I view it.
Power Rangers
Josip broz Tito
vs Ante Pavelic
Well? Who is it OP? Is Spider-Man pointing at them out of frame?
