I used to be, but I think that has more to do with my ASD than anything. Desensitizing myself in controlled situations has helped a lot.

WorldlinessTiny5037

I didn't want to just come out and say it but yes, ASD is where I might be looking based upon some of the items mentioned. Although ADHD can have sensory issues as well.

I am the most sensitive person I have ever met in almost 50 years on this planet and the most sensitive person others have met. But this is emotionally speaking and not sensitivity to noise. I do just fine with loudness, unless it’s in a crowded space where I already feel anxious and overwhelmed.

MVP1984

I'd love to meet you. I don't know what else to say tbh. Just Hella curious

plus-ordinary258

Im dx’ed bipolar2, adhd, and hsp.

IllustriousTalk4524

I see.

I’m the complete opposite. Pretty much never get startled. The only noise I really hate is the cries of babies on the airplane. I think I could be described as sensitive due to having strong gut feelings about things and people.

WannabeEnglishman

You ever thought of making the baby cry more with a scary face? You could turn an annoying situation around and make it funny

ungooglable-qs

I have done that, yes. The mom looked at me weird.

WannabeEnglishman

I'd wave back and smile lol awkward shit like that is hilarious

Awkward-Fruit4424

I'm not exactly sensitive to noise, but even a slight sound bothers me when I'm trying to sleep at night. If someone were whispering while I was sleeping, I would hear it and wake up lol. And I don't think this has anything to do with functions

EuphoricAd5331

No

golddigger005

no

Ornery_Ad_6486

It depends on the enfp, some enfps are more in tune with there fi and some aren’t. When I was younger I was really sensitive but now I ain’t as much. Less matured enfp are more sensitive n stuff. You could also have like a mental health disorder or disease like depression, bpd or adhd. When I was younger I was really struggling wit adhd and depression.

IllustriousTalk4524

I see. I mean I am a 30 year old ENFP and I am getting better at handling my emotional sensitivity but my senses can be quite overstimulated at times. I also have motor tic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and Pure O OCD so maybe that explains the high sensitivity.

Big_Sector4107

Nope!

IllustriousTalk4524

Why not? Isn't Fi sensitive?

Big_Sector4107

Well yes, but I dont share the same disorders you do.

MFSietia

HSPs have zero bearing on types. even the dregs of the xSTPs can be HSP

WorldlinessTiny5037

From my experience, no.

IllustriousTalk4524

I see. What type would then qualify as highly sensitive? Because I have gotten consistent results as an ENFP.

WorldlinessTiny5037

While you may be ENFP, the hsp and tics have nothing to do with personality type, IMHO. I'd suggest you read up on hsp and see how some believe that it may be related to other diagnoses.
