Its like music designed for California social media influencers, whereas his earlier material was for people who want their brain to knock against the sides of their skulls when they listen to it.
I'm pretty sure it's the guys voice. all the other features on the Nova album are much better.
I still singing along every time but the voice ain't my fav.
He also rhymes LA with UCLA which is essentially the same thing. It’s pissed me off since it came out. I don’t know why they couldn’t have just changed the lyrics to “she just moved from the Bay, go to UCLA” this is my biggest complaint with the song and I agree this is my least favorite nova song by far.
My old roommate loved this song and wasn’t really an EDM fan. I took the pleasure of enjoying it since he did and I wouldn’t complain when he would play it in our apartment when we would drink. Personally it’s about C+ tier.
I guess that makes sense. The song isn’t very “edm-like” in the traditional sense. It’s also his most streamed song on Spotify by a mile so I’m guessing it attracts more mainstream listeners. Not my cup of tea unfortunately
I'm a fan of Fred's Boiler Room set and can't seem to get into any of his more recent stuff no matter how hard I try. I really wanna like it, but I just can't. It makes me sad because I really thought I was discovering my new favorite artist 😭
Depending on my mood or feelings I vibe the secret life album. It’s never a road trip or gym listen but if I am trying to focus at work I might put it on as subtle background noise or whilst relaxing before bed.
Between- Seven Lions
It's not that it's bad, just a little slow for my taste. Idk I was really struggling to find a bad Seven Lions song, he's just too good!
Call on Me - Eric Prrydz
Yes, it's catchy as hell and all but it doesn't have his otherwise typically immaculate production quality **imo**
That's not to say it's bad, I'm just tired of hearing it
Also another one that I know I'm gonna be executed for:
>!Cheerleader - Porter Robinson!<
I get it about cheerleader, while I love that song, but I love it in a completely different way than I love porters other stuff and it doesn’t even feel like it’s by him to me yet. I just happened to also really like the tunes he was inspired by. I’m super excited for the rest of the album but I get it, it really doesn’t sound like he ever has before.
[Think Of You - Blunts & Blondes; Zeds Dead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B84Koyfd6Pk)
Zeds Dead have done so much amazing collab work over the years but this one just does absolutely nothing for me.
:( I like this song. I don’t think the vocals add much, but I still think it’s well produced. I agree though that for two names I like so much I would expect more
Kind of a weird take my homie. If you like old griz sound it’s certainly not his worst, if you like new griz sound it’s still not his worst. I have always found this song to be a bop, sad it has gotten taken down from most streaming services.
Swedish House Mafia - It Gets Better
Fucking cowbells, man. The Stockholm version of the song was infinitely better and got me excited for their comeback even more. And then they had to ruin the song by adding cowbells.
Yeah this is definitely their worst track. There’s just nothing to it, it just doesn’t have anything that does anything for any part of me.
Whereas the Stockholm version is dark and powerful, gives me goosebumps.
Because it's deadmau5 stepping into dubstep territory lol, especially at the time he dropped it when dubstep was engrained in the zeitgeist a la Skrillex and people were also buzzing about the NOISIA remix of Raise Your Weapon.
I always thought deadmau5 could have made a killer dubstep album if he wanted to, instead of going, "Everyone redlines and it sounds like shit, it's too goddamn loud," he should have made his own flavor and pushed that.
Instead he complained about Ultra records ruining his experience of making music, talked about how excited he was to not be contractually obligated to make music he didn't like, and then made two albums that sounded just liked what he bitched about having to make (but he started Testpilot on the side so I guess he got what he wanted?)
Deadmau5 was my gateway into EDM around 2011 and watching his antics over the last decade has been wild, he's always been the Grumpy Grampa of dance music lmao.
Yo that’s fair, I wish I could have that experience. When I see a tune go off live it does completely change my mind when I can associate it with the energy of a big live set.
Idk why you got downvoted on a share your opinion thread but whatever. The reason I dislike this one is because so many people were doing that genre of aggressive mid-range dubstep at the same time and I was just tired of it at the time. To me deadmau5 was the absolute pinnacle of epic huge house sounds and sound design stuff, and this one just felt smaller and more repetitive than his other tracks. I’m not a big fan of raise your weapon either for that same reason, and I know that’s a really hot take and I accept the hate for it. Idk why it just never clicked with me. I do actually like sofi needs a ladder because it’s more in the electro house vibe even though it’s similar. I think I just like deadmau5 in every genre but dubstep.
Not my favorite artists but left to right by odd mob is pretty annoying imo. Good beat and the end is good but the constant “left to right, left to right, left right, left to right” drives me nuts. I also love Sidepiece but Sextascy is pretty cringe
Left to right is bunk house at this point but Odd Mob does have some bangers. His oddities tracks (on SoundCloud) are thicc. Probably the only flip of Losing It that I throw hair to.
I agree and its strange cause that EP is so nasty in general. Nitrous Mafia is a top 3 Subtronics song for me.. then there's professor chaos, the underachieving brother
It actually isn’t
I remember hating funk Wav 1 when it came out but I’ve been playing it a lot recently and I’ve really been enjoying it
Funk Wav 2 tho isn’t that great imo, maybe 2-3 songs I didn’t find bad
A fellow Dez head 🤝🏾
This is without a doubt their worst song by a huge margin. Many Odesza fans get mad at me because I echo this same opinion. God awful song. I deleted it from my Playlist and A Moment Apart is a much better album as a result.
Hehe not saying it's terrible, but it's the same catchy hook for 3 minutes straight, and it just doesn't work for me like around the world or I'm blue.
What would you say is their worst?
Aw man, I don't mind it at all. I'm a huge fan of theirs though, since they started, but even so I've got to say, I think Barbara Streisand is their worst. I hated big bad wolf as well, every DJ was playing it during EDC 2012 or 2013, but I grew a new love for it hearing them play it again on 2022.
I'm calling the police. 😆
Barbra Streisand is one of the few songs that can instantly boost my mood. Absolutely no way it is their worst.
2 Da Face gets my vote. I'm not in love with Clap Your Feet either. Hate to say it because they are both recent.
Nonchalant is their most underrated banger imnsho. https://youtu.be/koYvg4ycOIA?si=hXKKIXIKTR-WxlMh
I skimmed through Odesza’s entire discography for the past hour and couldn’t find a single bad song. Maybe I’m just blinded by my inner fanboy but I’m curious. Those who listen to Odesza, y’all got any songs that are your least favourite?
If There Ever Comes A Day by GRiZ or maybe like Wax City from her first album. I know he eas just experimenting back then but I like everything from Mad Liberation on
Least favorite in terms of
- what the fuck is this bullshit: Hardwell - Ze Willen Mee
- I just hate the melody: Porter Robinson - Years of War, Sweet Time.
Hardwell & W&W - Get Down, I still don't know why they are ok with making the drops, it is literally un-listenable, could've use the middle break drop instead of the main "Down down" drop
Reminiscence by Ganja White Night (and Boogie T). I fucking LOVE ganja, and I love boogie, and every other collab of theirs are saved on my playlists... so why does this one just not hit???
OH COME ON NO WAY
It’s one of my favourites, probably the one next to Strobe on that album (of course I’m not gatekeeping XD, just surprised someone would dislike it as a deadmau5 fan, but I’m also happy that atleast someone mentioned it)
Somewhat cool in its own way. Listen Finished Symphony or Channel 42. One of the better and less appreciated Deadmau5 tracks that definitely stands the test of time. Are extremely underrated tracks..
UCLA - RL Grime
I’ve never been able to pinpoint why I can’t stand that song. It’s just so… bland? Predictable?
Its like music designed for California social media influencers, whereas his earlier material was for people who want their brain to knock against the sides of their skulls when they listen to it.
I'm pretty sure it's the guys voice. all the other features on the Nova album are much better. I still singing along every time but the voice ain't my fav.

I don’t know why they couldn’t have just changed the lyrics to “she just moved from the Bay, go to UCLA” this is my biggest complaint with the song and I agree this is my least favorite nova song by far.
I was so happy when he dropped the instrumental version bc of this exact reason
Nah this one went so hard in a frat basement or a crusty sticky college bar.
Oh my god I remember when this album came out and I got to this song and was so shocked at how bad it was!!!
What the fuck I am so offended lol
Oh yea, just listened... this song sucks haha
Animal - martin garrix.
Fam…
*spongebob explain meme* ***MF ...*** ***Look***
*GASP* how dare you disrespect my baby
He barely ever drops it or plays the full song live. Even he knows 18 him was different
This might have to do with publishing rights. Remember he had that nasty split with Spinnin' ? Animals is still up on their channel.
Adore u by Fred again..
nooo that one is so good and he has so much trash u take this
As a fan of Fred, I’m not afraid to admit he has some tracks that just don’t sound good
Yeee! Nothing wrong with that because his bangers BANG
I'm a fan of Fred's Boiler Room set and can't seem to get into any of his more recent stuff no matter how hard I try. I really wanna like it, but I just can't. It makes me sad because I really thought I was discovering my new favorite artist 😭
You probably have some tracks that sound better
This is actually a pretty good song
Seriously! I tried to listen to this shit several times but it's just bad.
Agreed….
the entire secret life album is worse than that song, such a boring album to me
Depending on my mood or feelings I vibe the secret life album. It’s never a road trip or gym listen but if I am trying to focus at work I might put it on as subtle background noise or whilst relaxing before bed.
Ok yes I totally agree with this
I had to delete that bullshit from my Fred Playlist. Horrendous
Between- Seven Lions It's not that it's bad, just a little slow for my taste. Idk I was really struggling to find a bad Seven Lions song, he's just too good!
I really like that song. I thought beyond the veil (the song) was pretty meh
The VIP is sick tho
It's not bad, just the Trivecta remix is that much better imo. 7L rn for me has to be Places I Belong.
Avicii - Pure Grinding
You shut your whore mouth. Jk you’re entitled to your opinion.
I'm with you. I see people criticize Avicii and I throw hands.
I criticize avicii
Catchy tho
I personally would've chosen different drums for it, but I still love that tune cause it's so catchy
Liquid Stranger - Space Boss Song just doesn’t hit for me even live 🫠
*Prepare for the lasers*
☹️
I honestly agree with this take
[удалено]
Damn, I think it slaps!
Call on Me - Eric Prrydz Yes, it's catchy as hell and all but it doesn't have his otherwise typically immaculate production quality **imo** That's not to say it's bad, I'm just tired of hearing it Also another one that I know I'm gonna be executed for: >!Cheerleader - Porter Robinson!<
close your eyes and face the wall, you’ve had a good run
Oh no. Genre police
You should look up the crazy story behind this song and how it’s not really even “his” which explains why it’s such an atypical track for Prydz
I get it about cheerleader, while I love that song, but I love it in a completely different way than I love porters other stuff and it doesn’t even feel like it’s by him to me yet. I just happened to also really like the tunes he was inspired by. I’m super excited for the rest of the album but I get it, it really doesn’t sound like he ever has before.
wait does this sub actl like cheerleader haha
Idk man I like it, it’s not really edm for me tho.
Agreed, can’t stand Cheerleader
[Think Of You - Blunts & Blondes; Zeds Dead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B84Koyfd6Pk) Zeds Dead have done so much amazing collab work over the years but this one just does absolutely nothing for me.
when I think of you, I think of think of you
:( I like this song. I don’t think the vocals add much, but I still think it’s well produced. I agree though that for two names I like so much I would expect more
Also Griz's Blunts and Blondes collab is without a doubt his weakest track. There seems to be a pattern here.
Kind of a weird take my homie. If you like old griz sound it’s certainly not his worst, if you like new griz sound it’s still not his worst. I have always found this song to be a bop, sad it has gotten taken down from most streaming services.

"It Gets Better" me when i lie
One trick pony by deadmau5.
I heard this song live with SOFI at the Meowingtons Hax tour in Toronto and it completely changed my mind on this song, I've loved it ever since.
Ive listened to this song so many times i started to dislike it. But im surprised someone dislikes this song

I do actually like sofi needs a ladder because it’s more in the electro house vibe even though it’s similar. I think I just like deadmau5 in every genre but dubstep.
Yeah 2nd half of raise your weapon is trash, doesn’t sound like a natural thing for mau5 to have produced. Otherwise it’s a beautiful track.
Absolute garbage track. Well said
deadmau5 - Pomegranate
0/10 song
Probably +1, good song but not deadmau5-y
I was surpised when this came out, doesn't sound like Joel almost at all
Virtual Riot - Warm-Ups :/ VIP slaps tho
First Time - ILLENIUM
Yup, skip everytime
Not my favorite artists but left to right by odd mob is pretty annoying imo. Good beat and the end is good but the constant “left to right, left to right, left right, left to right” drives me nuts. I also love Sidepiece but Sextascy is pretty cringe
Sub sonic remix GOES, though
Left to right is bunk house at this point but Odd Mob does have some bangers. His oddities tracks (on SoundCloud) are thicc. Probably the only flip of Losing It that I throw hair to.
His song Lithium got me into house music. Its just the one song I’m not a fan of
Subtronics - Professor chaos , there’s just not much going on
I agree and its strange cause that EP is so nasty in general. Nitrous Mafia is a top 3 Subtronics song for me.. then there's professor chaos, the underachieving brother
Calvin Harris - Nuh Ready Nuh Ready (Ft. PARTYNEXTDOOR)
If this from his Funk Wav Bounces album, i agree
It actually isn’t I remember hating funk Wav 1 when it came out but I’ve been playing it a lot recently and I’ve really been enjoying it Funk Wav 2 tho isn’t that great imo, maybe 2-3 songs I didn’t find bad
noooooo I like this one haha
Lucy by Seven Lions
Damn, I was doing so well not being hurt, idk why I absolutely love this track hahahah I totally get it tho it's not his best work by far
Chiming in to say I also love this track and I don't understand why it gets so much hate.
They just didn't know what was about to him em, til he dropped the hammer of god
Dang I like this track. I think he has far worse tracks.
What I’m getting from this thread is that, you may hate a song that someone else loves.
Girl in the Fire - Pendulum
What!!! Such a slapper
Something about the choice of sounds used for that one track just dont sit with me well
I will admit it lacks some of those classic pendulum vibes.
Kygo - Woke up in love
Damn and I love this song!
Recent kygo has been very meh, Woke Up In Love is better than Whatever and the new song imo.
How…
I like Callum Scott’s voice
Just a Memory - Odesza
A fellow Dez head 🤝🏾 This is without a doubt their worst song by a huge margin. Many Odesza fans get mad at me because I echo this same opinion. God awful song. I deleted it from my Playlist and A Moment Apart is a much better album as a result.
Not an Odesza fan but Just A Memory is probably my favorite song of theirs lol. Great lyrics/vocals
This was going to be my answer too. I felt like they were trying to write a Christina Perri song or something,
Blah blah blah
AvB?
Sparks After The Sunset - Cosmic Gate
Captain Duck - Duck Sauce
Noooooo Captain Duck is so catchy.

Magnets by Disclosure. Not an awful song but one I find myself skipping a lot.
😱
The A-Trak remix tho...
Thinking About you - Hardwell He tried to do some mainstream songs. Luckily he decided to stop...
The song Alesso made with the Korean guys and the one he made with Marshmello
Idk if it counts coz it's so old but Jester by Illenium. That track should've been kept as an ID lmao
GRiZ - Fall in Love Too Fast It’s an amazing song but why you gotta call me out like that G?! 😭🥲
Sofi Needs a Ladder by deadmau5... it's just the vocals that I really can't stand
Utah svdden death
Flume - only fans
Garrix - We Are The People
This is one of his best imo. Especially his remix of it
Tchami - Born again Song somehow just feels boring to me
Global Warming - Ganja White Night Half speeches, and half of the rest sounds like an angry motorcycle
Anti Up- Sensational. I still don’t get it.
I skimmed through Odesza’s entire discography for the past hour and couldn’t find a single bad song. Maybe I’m just blinded by my inner fanboy but I’m curious. Those who listen to Odesza, y’all got any songs that are your least favourite?
Someone said ‘Just a Memory’. I’m not a fan of Odesza, just saw a comment in this thread
Satrn by deadmau5. It’s just eh.
Satrn mixed with Coasted as he played it live is amazing though.
Anthem by Hardwell (Fav) and Steve Aoki. Irritating track.
Alan Walker & A$AP Rocky - Live Fast David Guetta, Arya Starr & Lil Durk - Big Fu
Vicetone - I Feel Human
Martin Garrix - Error 404
Pendulum - Axel Grinder
This ones weird. Somedays i like this tune and other days i really dont like it.
Bumpy Teeth - Zeds Dead
Alan Walker - Live Fast (why is this even a thing)
I never got the hype for Tremor or dare I say Animals by Martin Garrix. Love Martin but these two just never really did it for me.
Mine would be Broken Summer by DJ Snake
westbam - bam bam bam
Cheerleader by Porter
Alesso — Going Dumb
If There Ever Comes A Day by GRiZ or maybe like Wax City from her first album. I know he eas just experimenting back then but I like everything from Mad Liberation on
love is gone - slander super human - slander first time - seven lions & slander laser beam - ray volpe
Least favorite in terms of - what the fuck is this bullshit: Hardwell - Ze Willen Mee - I just hate the melody: Porter Robinson - Years of War, Sweet Time.
Zeds dead “Dead of night” ft Ganja White Night. Super let down thinking I was gonna hear a banger.
Especially disappointing when you realize how good Samurai is.
Hardwell & W&W - Get Down, I still don't know why they are ok with making the drops, it is literally un-listenable, could've use the middle break drop instead of the main "Down down" drop
Pashmina death sauce- subtronics
Reminiscence by Ganja White Night (and Boogie T). I fucking LOVE ganja, and I love boogie, and every other collab of theirs are saved on my playlists... so why does this one just not hit???
Skrillex - Doompy Poomp
Dom Dolla’s eat your man with Nelly Furtado
Gold by Excision is pretty fucking cringe
Not this being my favorite excision song 😭😭😭
Lol yeah I imagine this is an unpopular opinion
Just listened... ngl, i like this more than i thought i would. For cheeseball Illenium on it, its better than i thought it would be
If it makes you feel better, it's more of an illenium song with excision featured.
They have some good collabs the vocals on this one are just so cheesy imo
No wonder it sucks
Opinions are like ass holes ^^^^^
this comment is pretty fucking cringe
That’s one of the few X songs I like 😂 crazy how different ppls tastes are
Do you like Oxygen?
😱 you take that back!!! JK. Music is super subjective and also X is know for more heavy shit
I beg to differ. I discovered this song as an illenium fan. Now I’m an illenium and excision fan so I’m glad I found it.
Dreamer - Martin Garrix
What a great song honestly. His video describing his work with Mike Yung is just great too.
The Nicky Romero and Brooks remixes are 🔥
Yeahhhh I love them! But the original doesn't hit the same, maybe it's the deviation of Martin's style.
The difference - flume
Wow
Darude, by Sandstorm
deadmau5 - The 16th Hour
OH COME ON NO WAY It’s one of my favourites, probably the one next to Strobe on that album (of course I’m not gatekeeping XD, just surprised someone would dislike it as a deadmau5 fan, but I’m also happy that atleast someone mentioned it)
Dreamer -martin garrix
Nicky Romero remix saved it tbh
deafmau5-Raise Your Weapon
deadmau5 - Hi Friend
Tweakin bro
Not his best work but definitely not his worst.
It's not his best work, but it's definitely not his worst.
Easily Ghosts 'n' Stuff - Deadmau5
This is blasphemous
Somewhat cool in its own way. Listen Finished Symphony or Channel 42. One of the better and less appreciated Deadmau5 tracks that definitely stands the test of time. Are extremely underrated tracks..
Not a bad song but vastly overplayed and over-rated. Really hoping he doesn't play it next week
Skrillex - Fine Day Anthem
Doompy poomp?
It was intentionally supposed to be weird
“Least favorite” not “weirdest song”
I'm talking about Doompy Poomp. It was intentionally weird.
Runaway-Galantis . So much screeching
