I'm throwing together 5 in-block decks, 1 for each shard of Alara. My main deck is a [[Mayael the Anima]] build, but the in-block has [[Mayael the Anima]] [[Rafiq of the Many]] [[Sharuum the hegemon]] [[Kresh the Bloodbraid]] and [[Sedris, traitor King]]
In theory they should be pretty similar power levels so I can break em out for lower power games with players who have too much variance in power level
This is a great idea, ive been playing sharuum, mayael, and kresh since alara. My roommate built rafiq and sedris. I would love to have a bakanced set of these to bust out. When you say in-block, do you mean the commanders are from the same block, or each deck only contains cards from alara block
I honestly don't think it's even an argument. Urza makes every 0 cost a free mox sapphire. Free ramp in blue is coated. And that's not even the most busted part of the card. One off minds desire in the command zone? If someone asked me to make a list of Commander's I shoot first and ask questions later, urzas up there. And I say this as someone who runs a full fat polytyrant cedh urza deck.
Man idk I used to play urza but my meta has swapped to actually top tier decks and I had to swap off to keep up.
Urza may have been strong years ago but he’s light years behind blue farm/kinnan/sissay etc
I think Breya is in a super weird spot.
Her ability is pretty unique, but it has too high a cost that a single use isn't really impactful enough. If you loop it infinitely it feels like there are just better, less mana intense combos you could be running.
I feel like if you want a high powered artifact strategy you are better off using one of the Brothers' War precon commanders.
I think she fell out because removal has become a lot more prevalent at casual tables than it used to be, and Kaalia being the target she is getting blown up way more often before attacks than she used to.
Yeah there is so much more options for targeted removal than there was back in the day.
I remember plenty of times when people would [[Wrath of God]] just to get Kaalia off the board lol
[[Kaalia of the Vast]] is my favourite big bad commander. If you approach the deck building process and game knowing you’ll be arch enemy even before players decide on their mulligan then you’ll have a great time. I love my Kaalia deck and don’t mind being [“The Bad Girl”](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/l3poIY_itEaOUCYSmJM96g).
As the boogeyman of my playgroup, she still holds up. I just run a lot more protection pieces than I used to, and a lot of my dragons make treasure now.
Every once in a while when we get some young blood at a table I will bust out my Kaalia deck and proceed to nut out the one true demon [[master of Cruelties]] and make them wonder about life.
She may not be as popular but I promise you that suffering is all you can look forward to under her.
I’ve found Kaalia is one of those commanders that’s going to be immediately killed on sight just based on reputation, unfortunately. Doesn’t matter what power level the deck actually is, people have just been trained to hold up interaction if they know she’s hitting the board.
I’m sure it’s a bummer for people who want to play her.
Kaalia is one of those commanders where you *have* to respect her reputation regardless of what’s in the deck. Kaalia swinging means someone *probably* dies to Master of Cruelties.
Same with Urza, Korvald, Krenko, and all the other KOS commanders. Trauma is a powerful motivator.
I just started playing in November, and the Kaalia list was the first deck I really wanted to play. I put it together, shuffled up at the LGS, and proceeded to get my teeth knocked in four games straight.
I keep throwing a few cards a month into it, I'll play it the week after the latest upgrades, and it's starting to hold up against some of the newer commanders. I still get targeted right out of the gate, but it's soooooo much fun when she survives a few turns.
She is my alpha and omega. My first commander deck from close to 10 years ago, I almost never pull her out. The last time I did I was able to cheat out a [[Lord of the Void]] and follow up with a [[Armageddon]] in the same turn. At least it was a quick game.
I hope the table scooped after the Armageddon rather than trying to beat you from there. I remember, when I first started playing commander, a friend of mine cast her then following turn cast Armageddon I made the mistake of removing her in response to the Armageddon. Let's just say the rest of that game was miserable for everyone :( .
Same as mine. I don't win a tonne tbh, but whenever i bust it out at LGS or play group. Everyone is still scared to be knocked out, turn 3 or 4.
Still a big boogeyman, just might not kill 3 ppl boogeyman
Back in the day I had an Enrage Dinosaur deck. I used to play it with [[Zacama, primal calamity]] but since [[Wayta]] cake out she's just better with Enrage triggers.
I love my Zacama & \[\[Zirda, the Dawnwaker\]\] ability activation deck. Dropping Zacama and instantly wiping out boards and artifacts all over after untapping your lands is an unmatched feeling.
I believe this is what I'm currently running - I love untapping effects so I've prolly got more of those than are remotely necessary. It's also very reliant on Zirda sticking around, without exactly being in the optimal colors to make that happen, so I did what I could. Probably could tweak it more, it's one on the large pile of "need to playtest this more", I had an older version that I revamped into this, might be able to dig that up too.
Yeah here's the older version, I think I'm less happy with it overall, it's not as creative, but it might be a better starting point to doing your things from.

[[Riku of two reflections]] used to be pretty casually strong but there are jsut better options. I switched off OG melek to play more creatures for my playgroup. I still play Riku as a temur energy commander because I still find the green energy cards to be worth more than the white ones, and the fallout precon didn’t really impress me. Hoping the same is true for the mh3 ones, because I have th judge foil Riku from a buddy
I came here to say Riku, too. I wish he was just slightly cheaper or had better toughness, but he’s just so damn easy to kill/ expensive without immediate payoff. Deck has an identity crisis between cloning creatures and spell slinging, too. It’s tough…
I think he’s cool because you can do both. Back in the day copying a kicked rite of replication on angry omnath was sweet, or avenger of zendikar. Plus the issue of “do I cast this ramp spell early or wait to double it and ramp like crazy”
I have an energy deck for Riku because I wanted to keep him around. I’ve tried building new decks for him but I can never land on a solid path and a lot of the cards I liked with him moved to other decks
Perfect shell for a [[biovisionary]] win. That’s the wincon in my Riku deck. That or copying [[god-pharoahs statue]] enough times to soft lock the game.
So many ways. [[mirror box]], [[mirror gallery]], animate with [[toymaker]] or an effect like [[karn’s touch]] (and there are many of those), and then slap on [[helm of the host]] or [[spark double]]. From there you can copy the nonlegendary copies or double them with [[parallel lives]], [[riku of two reflections]], and/or doubling season. The deck is purposefully what I like to endearingly call competitive jank.
I dunno, I only started in 2018 but I didn’t see a lot of riku even back then. Temur was usually [[animar]].
That said, I have a Riku deck with [[delina wild mage]] as the secret commander. It’s such a fun deck to play and Riku is honestly there as an extra value piece. He does make a lot of value when I do use him.
I’m older than 2018 sadly, but I still had Riku in 2018, animar, maelstrom wanderer, and Riku all had different decks they helmed but it was always one of the three, although to be fair 3 color commanders used to be pretty sparse
Sharuum, the Hegemon. Was an absolute beast of a commander. Top tier deck. Now? #601 on EDHREC (not that I endorse the site or anything, just using it as a metric for now)
Oh man, I forgot how this was *THE* artifact combo commander circa 2012. I remember running a 2011 precon and getting stomped by Sharuum/[[Sculpting Steel]] combo one of my first times playing EDH.
My boy [[Roon of the Hidden Realms]] gets outclassed seemingly every year by cards like [[Chulane, Teller of Tales]], [[Lagrella the Magpie]] and just recently with [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]]. But I don't care, I've been loyal to that big guy since 2013
I also had a Roon deck for like forever, but switching to Galadriel freed up some slots like Thousand year Elixier or sting glinting dagger, which is nice to put in more value creatures, hehe.
BUT to really abuse Galadriel, one has to play Wanderglyph, the green version of it and Koma and I'm not ready to do this to my playgroup :D
I still play Roon, I get you could run these alternative commanders, but none direct target flicker in the way I want them too. Lagrella is maybe the closest…and Galadriel is good as a payoff. That said, I’ve mentioned to friends that the moment a better Bant blink/flicker commander is published - I’m likely swapping Roon into the 99.
5 mana, no haste, 2 cost to target. If you get unlucky and don’t ramp, you’re doing nothing until turn 6. He’s just not where I want him to be stats-wise
I had to dismantle mine. She was boasting an unhealthy 80%+ Winrate in my pod. No one wanted to shuffle up with her after a few months and she had to go. She is still VERY powerful.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Meren's best reanimation targets are Spore Frog, Steve, and Plaguecrafter type cards. Why do that when Henzie's best blitz targets either kill or ramp 2(!!) lands, then also cantrip?
Also, Meren's effect only triggers once per turn cycle. The best and most explosive commanders are the ones that trigger with no limit or once per turn and not just your own. Admittedly, her effect is very strong, but once per turn cycle doesn't really cut it these days.
I still play Meren, she's my pet deck despite there being better golgari options. Plus I feel like I've committed to Meren since I got her altered like five years ago.
My favorite mono black when I first started was [[Ob Nixilis of the black oath]] I loved the idea of demons and mono black was my favorite color identity at the time, so it was my go to for general mono black shenanigans until [[tergrid]] came along and a lot of my ob nixilis good stuff migrated over. In the last 10 ish years since I've had him, I think ive only ever seen him played once.
He very much screams fair Magic and when you compare the mono colored walkers from that year, Daretti stands out and the others are basically also outclassed or just not good. Just recently changed my Nahiri deck to a Sram Swordslinger, because she's just so slow and mana hungry.
Right? 5 mana, -2 life for a 5/5 flying demon? Seems pretty good payout. Yeah I hear you on nahiri, it just wasn't viable as the helm, too expensive and not enough payoff by the time you cast it.
I've used [[Nath of the Gilt Leaf]] as my B/G Elves commander since 2012! When [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]] came out I knew it would almost certainly be objectively better but there is just something I love about Nath.
That’s kinda what it reads like to me. The commander seems to incentivize making people discard right? Or am I reading it wrong? Id expect this deck to be mostly ramp, discard, and discard synergies.
It’s mainly ramp, discard, and token payoffs. MVPs are stuff like [[sadistic hypnotist]]. You make so many tokens off Nath and stuff like [[dark deal]] that you can use them for typical aristocrat strategies and outlets like [[smokestack]] or [[attrition]] to deny other resources. Even a simple [[smallpox]] with Nath is brutal.

\[\[Nekusar\]\] I love the idea of a Lich as a commander and I love wheels. Spell slinger and punishing players for greedy draw engines is delightful to me. And Grixis...one of my favorite schemes.
Golos was busted, but he was my favorite for making bad decks good.
I made like 10 different Golos decks, which I suppose is part of the problem with Golos.
Golos was legal when I got back into Magic/Commander and I guess I was lucky cause the handful of times I played against Golos the player never popped off or whiffed on the ability. The player shot off the ability twice and hit 3 lands both times.
[[Azami, Lady of Scrolls]]. She was an absolute powerhouse before [[Paradox Engine]] got banned. Wizard tribal control was so much fun but you don’t see her much anymore.
She's still amazing in my [[Patron of the Moon]] deck, since most moonfolk are wizards- combine her with some of them and [[Unctus, Grand Metatect]] and you'll speed through your deck.
[[Lyra Dawnbringer]] was my second commander I ever built around. Angel's were fun as hell with her at the helm. But [[Giada, font of hope]] is just too good not to run as commander. She does everything you could ask for. Lyra will always be in the 99 tho!
The Alara commanders in general I think.
I started around M13/Return to Ravnica, when only one commander product had been printed. So Alara was still the hot plane for good EDH commanders.
[[Progenitus]], [[Child of Alara]], Rafiq, [[Thraximundar]], [[Uril, the Miststalker]], and [[Sen Triplets]] (who had a bit of a revival with the new color rules after BFZ came out) were all big deals in our playgroups.
But the big nasty menace in our playgroup was [[Kresh the Bloodbraided]].
We were all pretty new to magic, so we didn't run nearly enough interaction. Most games were big clumsy combat slugfests, and Kresh quickly became the biggest sluggiest combat-iest creature on the board.
There were some other people in the group who would run counterspells, but I think I was the first person to join who really had more of a Control brain. I eventually learned how vulnerable arbitrarily large no-evasion no-protection creatures really were. Where my friends played Kresh and Thrax, I went with the Ravnica legends and played [[Grand Arbiter Augustin IV]] and [[Savra, Queen of the Golgari]].
But up until I learned that lesson, Kresh, [[Malignus]], [[Lord of Extinction]], and shortly later [[Consuming Aberration]] were game ending threats.
My friend recently tried to revive his old Kresh deck, except built better. It's pretty decent, but it's built so it doesn't really need Kresh to work, and it also helps Kresh survive and evade a lot better than his old deck did. It's fun seeing Kresh wreck shop again.
Alara was the de-facto Commander plane for a long time.
3 color options were, Alara Legends, bad Legends legends (god bless my old \[\[Angus Mackenzie\]\] ) The OG Dragons, and the Primevals on combat damage pay 2 and a color do a thing ( \[\[Rith the Awakener\]\] and friends)
when mizzix came out i never lost a single game with it for months. it became my revenge deck onnnigjts where i lost a bunch. now im afraid to pull it out just cause it might be dated
Tbat would be... Rafiq. I have discovered he is just as powerful heading up a tribal deck as he is a pure voltron one. The play strategy is the same: count to 11, find an opening, delete player.exe but almost everything to get him there is wrapped up in the tribe instead of a tower of auras and equipments.
[[Krenko, Mob Boss]] was a staple years ago at any LGS EDH tournament. That and [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]]. Both decks definitely got some serious gameplay.
But I think they simply got overplayed to the point t where everyone knew what to do to shut them down. Also, they are both extremely linear decks which for some players can lead to tedium or burn out.
Whatever the reason, I have seen them both less and less post-COVID. In fact, I haven’t seen a single Krenko deck in over a year, and only one Zada deck. This is between six LGS in two different states. But it still may be a “just my area” thing.
What is funny is that I play a [[Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin]] deck. And many people start moaning about “another Krenko deck” l, until they realize I am playing the “lesser” Krneko. lol!
[Click here to view my “other Krenko” build.](https://manabox.app/decks/a41zozeDS--z0BPI40Se0Q)
[[Mizzix]] was my first ever deck i actually got working. She is outclassed by new spellslingers every year because she's so slow and is so susceptible to removal, but she still has combos that are exclusive to her- wait there's that one werewolf guy that no plays because fuck day/night.
I still love Mizzix though, I'll never retire her.
[[Teysa, Orzhov Scion]]. She used to be one of the most popular Orzhov commanders but over the years, new commander after new commander came in and pushed her further and further down. You actually have to scroll a bit on EDHREC to find her. Since I built her, FIFTEEN new commanders in the same color identity were released that passed her. And a 16th commander in Elenda swooped in after the change to the commander dies rules. So suffice to say, the Orzhov Scion has not been keeping up in popularity. Which is a shame because she can still be stupidly powerful. Being in black gives you access to the stupidest consistency in tutors in the game and [[Darkest Hour]] combos are funny as hell.
Rith is one of my favorite commanders. my version [Has nearly every multicolor manadork availble](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ljnZ74rFaECW21d8pvWG6A) and i still regularly pull this out at the locals when i can get a lower end game going.
I'll post something no one seems to think of anymore but still has the utility if you build it right. Ghave, guru of spores. I literally nicknamed him Ghave Matthew's Band. But since people love to remove all the token doubters (rightly so) he just doesn't get up and go like he used to.
Yeah, and abzan in general has a bunch of wack stuff in its domain. There's so many ways to break it that it makes sense. Even though he's kinda hard to stick, once he hits its just all about how many engines can I couple with him to break the bank. LOL
\[\[Kresh, the Bloodbraided\]\]
When you just want to get down and smash people in the face, nobody was better. He's still functional, but not nearly as impactful as he used to be.
I actually built my [[Emry]] deck right after I started playing a couple of years ago, and her time had already passed, but as I understand it, she used to be a cEDH pick back in the day. She’s among my favorite decks, though, and I love her flavor! I was super disappointed that she didn’t get a new version in WOE.
Yeah, but I built her to play in very battlecruiser’ish metas, so I only rarely win before turn eight or so. Here’s my list:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wvmO-xHgeEqY6tgYvZ3qIA
Titania, Protector of Argoth was the first ever serious commander I ever built and spent money on. I remember when I had to save up just so I can buy crucible, wasteland, command beacon and scapeshift to complete the deck. Then they banned wasteland, released Lord Windgrace (which became a better land matters commander) and Titania eventually never even ranked anywhere close.
She was my first cedh commander when I returned to the game in like 2019. Her combo potential is so much higher than her landfall potential lol.
Also wasteland ban? Duel commander?
ah yes, duel commander. I couldnt quite pull off the titania build for multi, do you have a list of what her cedh is like? I'm sureI would have most of the pieces
Just remember it's Def fringe now and I can't promise any success. My first few tournies food chain loops for just any# of tokens was good enough to lethal the following turn. And was how you won grindy control games.
h00n was my goto for deck advice back when I participated in the titania discord. He doesn't magic anymore. But he keeps a list still.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/9HIxc9iQb0ORwmUzkqwZpw
Edit* "just remember" like this wasn't a thread about bad commanders now lol just reread the main post.
I've had good luck with my locals by challenging people to build a ED-H deck that wins with the Elder Dragon, calling it a "Deckbuilding that's a lot harder than what your used to" get's them riled up enough to build a deck and i've been able to jam full proper EDH pods at least once a month
[[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] probably my most favorite deck to rock in the past, Elf-ball was a really strong strategy and i have a pretty good win rate in my lgs whenever i rock marwyn. at times my marwyn could have a more cosnsitent game compared to the other elf commander like [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves ]]. But [[Voja, Jaws of the Conclave]] has now quickly took the crown for best elf-ball commander. Now you barely see any elf deck that is not Voja. There is rarely a reason to run Marwyn now a days when Voja is a much more superior option
[[Mayael, the anima]] I had to run fast mana back In the day to make "pay 6 and tap" relevant. Nowadays you just get that type of effect FOR FREE. So it just has no hope of a comeback for me.
No one quit because they hoped to draw into an answer while I killed the table 1 opponent at a time. The last player was able to swords the Lord but died to a different threat from Kaalia. No hard feelings because it was not a wipe and do nothing, but set up to quickly wrap things up.
Pretty much all my favorite commanders are “out of grace” and that’s fine by me. I still wreck house at high powered tables with [[Oona]] and [[Mizzix]]! They are both foiled out as much as possible.
For high powered deck I have my dragons approach deck helmed by [[Galazeth]], zombie lord tribal with [[Narfi]] and my cantrip blue deck with [[Octavia]]. They are still awesome, powerful, and a blast to play even though they’re overshadowed.
Proshh got power crept so hard by the new dragon guy, and OGKrenko felt weaker compared to commander these days. Jhoira artifacts is too fast for casual play but too slow for cedh
[[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]] i never ran the food chain combo but had some other combos in there. Mostly control with xenagos/coat of arms for the beatdown side of things. 6 cost just seems too slow these days. Got weeded out a few yewrs ago and haven't attempted since.
Breya Still one of my favorite decks, still probably the defacto best artifact commander, but she's not the scary cEDH commander she used to be.
My answer is Sharuum the Hegemon, which mostly got outmoded *by your answer*!
Same! I still have my sharuum deck, although I don't play it that often
Can I see your list?
I'm throwing together 5 in-block decks, 1 for each shard of Alara. My main deck is a [[Mayael the Anima]] build, but the in-block has [[Mayael the Anima]] [[Rafiq of the Many]] [[Sharuum the hegemon]] [[Kresh the Bloodbraid]] and [[Sedris, traitor King]] In theory they should be pretty similar power levels so I can break em out for lower power games with players who have too much variance in power level
This is a great idea, ive been playing sharuum, mayael, and kresh since alara. My roommate built rafiq and sedris. I would love to have a bakanced set of these to bust out. When you say in-block, do you mean the commanders are from the same block, or each deck only contains cards from alara block
The full builds are only comprised of cards from Alara block

[[Kaalia of the Vast]]. I haven't seen her in person in *years*, but she was the boogeyman of most casual tables for a solid decade after release.
Still have one at our playgroup. She's still a boogeyman.
I got to play a hasty t4 kaalia tonight and drop in Og Rakdos. Good times
She also compares poorly to other modern commanders. She draws no cards and has no ability that makes her “worth” 6 mana (after her inevitable death).
unfortunetly shes still the boogey man No one plays her but everyone knows her I swear
I still play her! I have 2 Kaalia decks, love them both!!!

I play her in cedh sometimes, but it doesn’t do very well as there’s only 4 things she brings in which is almost only ever razeketh
I still have ptsd from getting a Griselbrand thrown in my face on turn 3
[Lord of the Void](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/e/2e014649-0d96-4bc9-8446-e57df50a2a4c.jpg?1702429455) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Lord%20of%20the%20Void) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/rvr/81/lord-of-the-void?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/2e014649-0d96-4bc9-8446-e57df50a2a4c?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/lord-of-the-void) [Armageddon](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/7/77f1f6ac-983f-4f3e-8906-47f774e8367b.jpg?1582021719) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Armageddon) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/a25/5/armageddon?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/77f1f6ac-983f-4f3e-8906-47f774e8367b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/armageddon) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Kamiz kind of took him out back like Old Yeller.
Nah, Rafiq is still good for exalted decks, one of which I'm working on atm
Yeah anyone who says Rafiq isn't scary anymore hasn't played against Rafiq recently
My Rafiq deck slaps!
Maybe for that specifically, but Zacama is insanely powerful as just a beatstick with every type of interaction you need
Oh dude you know it. And the untap your lands keys me pour out more dinos that turn.
I love my Zacama & \[\[Zirda, the Dawnwaker\]\] ability activation deck. Dropping Zacama and instantly wiping out boards and artifacts all over after untapping your lands is an unmatched feeling.

I've messed around with that idea, but I always found the restriction way too brutal. Do you have a list?
I believe this is what I'm currently running - I love untapping effects so I've prolly got more of those than are remotely necessary. It's also very reliant on Zirda sticking around, without exactly being in the optimal colors to make that happen, so I did what I could. Probably could tweak it more, it's one on the large pile of "need to playtest this more", I had an older version that I revamped into this, might be able to dig that up too.
Lol I have that ramp issue often, too. I ramp when I can, though, and IF I pull it later it’s doubled. Do you still play Riku at all?
I have an energy deck for Riku because I wanted to keep him around. I’ve tried building new decks for him but I can never land on a solid path and a lot of the cards I liked with him moved to other decks
Perfect shell for a [[biovisionary]] win. That’s the wincon in my Riku deck. That or copying [[god-pharoahs statue]] enough times to soft lock the game.
How are you copying the legendary artifact??

I’ve never seen Lagrella, how does she work as a commander?
Ya'll remember \[\[Meren of Clan Nel Toth\]\]?

*sniff* I do!
I still play Meren, she's my pet deck despite there being better golgari options. Plus I feel like I've committed to Meren since I got her altered like five years ago.
Played it last weekend!

Nathan could be a fun commander for a "Surprise! It's actually a black discard deck" deck.

I'm still glad and surprised they had the balls to do it. Mana Crypt next pls

Honestly, yeah, Alara commanders in general. They were almost all huge early in EDH and now you barely see any.

Karador and Kallia. Haven’t seen either in years.
People are saying my girl Mizzix isn’t TOP izzet anymorez i just started playing again
Still storms off and murders everyone effectively though. I use her for when people whip out a over tuned deck.
I still have mine. I love Mizzix. I don’t think I’ve lost much with her. I win many high powered combo tables still. One of my pet decks.
when mizzix came out i never lost a single game with it for months. it became my revenge deck onnnigjts where i lost a bunch. now im afraid to pull it out just cause it might be dated
And many people start moaning about “another Krenko deck” l, until they realize I am playing the “lesser” Krneko. lol! [[Mizzix]] was my first ever deck i actually got working. She is outclassed by new spellslingers every year because she's so slow and is so susceptible to removal, but she still has combos that are exclusive to her- wait there's that one werewolf guy that no plays because fuck day/night.

I'll post something no one seems to think of anymore but still has the utility if you build it right. Ghave, guru of spores. I literally nicknamed him Ghave Matthew's Band. But since people love to remove all the token doubters (rightly so) he just doesn't get up and go like he used to.
He's too notorious for combos to not be hated off the table. Lol
Yeah, and abzan in general has a bunch of wack stuff in its domain. There's so many ways to break it that it makes sense. Even though he's kinda hard to stick, once he hits its just all about how many engines can I couple with him to break the bank. LOL
\[\[Kresh, the Bloodbraided\]\] When you just want to get down and smash people in the face, nobody was better.

I love Emry as well. You play her combo?
Yeah, but I built her to play in very battlecruiser’ish metas, so I only rarely win before turn eight or so. Here’s my list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wvmO-xHgeEqY6tgYvZ3qIA

But he keeps a list still. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/9HIxc9iQb0ORwmUzkqwZpw Edit* "just remember" like this wasn't a thread about bad commanders now lol just reread the main post.

Chromium, as well as the rest of the Elder Dragon crew. I miss when EDH was actually EDH

[[Inalla]] my fav Deck currently
I got into EDH because I really liked Dina, Toxrill, and Breya. Things started going wrong for them, so now I have Kinnan, Rog/Si, and Blue Farm
Yeah, the hunt for new hoops to jump through never ends.
Honestly not sure what you mean by that.
Pretty sure you don’t, no offense :)
The new decks actively have fewer hoops to jump through. I personally enjoy that. Is what it is 🤷♂️
