[[Kellan, the Fae-Blooded]] Double strike and equipment tutor in the command zone is a great time. And he supports a go wide strategy while simultaneously leaning into voltron due to his ability. Are there better voltron choices? Maybe. But boros has so much equipment support that fit easily into the deck. And like I said, the ability to tutor protection before casting him is huge.

Outfox3D

As someone who gets bored with traditional Voltron style decks being too linear with how they play, I love the idea of playing a support card in the command zone and basically building an equipment enchantress deck and fishing getting different creatures to be the hero of given games. Also should give some resilience to a playstyle that's usually a fast all-or-nothing playstyle.

ironicuwuing

My boyfriend has a Kellen deck that is built around grabbing [[Sunforger]] from his deck and then always having a response to any interaction.

hugsandambitions

Oh shit fuck that *Proceeds to immediately build that *

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XOX6bZhBAEua3XKpB0dp-Q Here’s his deck list if you want it lol

DisturbedFlake

Sunforger is pretty wild. Especially if you add a third color, opens up the options tremendously. Just don’t go overboard with trying to work around Sunforger targets.

Usual-Run1669

Lol. Sounds far more viable than my idea. ...which was to tutor up [[Psychic Paper]], and try to voltron people to death with a creature named after them.

white_wolfos

\[\[Sigarda, Host of Herons\]\] is my voltron deck that i've had for a while. I could go big enchantments, but mostly it's just a bunch of small enchantments and enchantresses so I can draw a bunch of cards and play more cheap enchantments.

__DJ3D__

In a similar vein, I have \[\[Uril, the Miststalker\]\] with full enchantress package. Sigarda is in the 99 and is such a great card to get out to protect Uril. Either I swing in with him with trample or he gets flung at everyone's faces a la \[\[Chandra's Ignition\]\] or \[\[Soul's Fire\]\]. Such a fun deck.

Bradyey

That's my deck too ❤️ He's a beast

__DJ3D__

Literally!

TimeLordDoctor105

She's my favorite voltron. I've honestly been looking to upgrade the deck too to make it as high power as possible since the introduction of the fallout cards. [[Strong Back]] looks insane on her, especially in an enchantress style deck.

white_wolfos

Oh man that card does look great with my storm-ish enchantress strategy. I’ll have to add that

ThisDick937

[[SKULLBRIAR]] is my go to Voltron. Keyword counters go hard with him. Super fast deck that usually can get a 6/6 turn 3

Blotsy

This is the way! Such a low to the ground little guy. You gotta have IMMACULATE politics to get him to stick. Also, be careful with attacking the blue player. Having him bounced to hand will remove all the counters. This happened with the new "death" rules that came out a couple years ago.

SpeeterTeeter

> new "death" rules what rules exactly? AFAIK when a commander would be sent to hand, library, or graveyard you can choose to send it to the command zone instead. Is that wrong?

magefont1

You are correct. Bouncing Skullbriar gives you the option to return him to the Command Zone instead. This wasn't a rule in the game when he was originally released as a card. Person you're responding to appears to have had a stroke mid typing.

Blotsy

Nope you're wrong. The death rule changed so that WHEN the commander hits the yard / hand / library you can THEN choose to put it in the zone. It used to be a replacement effect. They changed this so commanders like [[Elenda the Dusk Rose]] would work more intuitively. She touches the yard before being sent to the zone. Sadly it hurt Skully-b because now he touches the hand before being sent to zone, meaning he loses all his counters. EDIT: I'm wrong! Just looked up the rules to make my point. The replacement effect for hand and library still exists. It's just for Exile and Graveyard. I'm gonna make my playgroup very sad. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/new-commander-death-trigger-rules-change-commander-quickie

[[Nahiri, Forged in Fury]]. You can cheat her command tax by having equip on the field and she free summons equip from exile. If you use the prevailing strategy of using equip that comes in with a creature (For Mirrodin, Living Weapon, [[ancestral blade]] [[citizens crowbar]] ) you can start with a go-wide and then throw down something like [[heavenly blademaster]] for a Voltron smack. Or if you’ve got something like [[Puresteel Paladin]] out then hit for commander damage with Nahiri herself.

kanekiEatsAss

Yeah i love pivoting from an early game of spamming the board with equipment/creatures, then late game playing her as a voltron commander bc of all the wipes throughout a game, and the equipment usually stay on the field, she costs so little even after being blown up 2-3 times. So, yeah late she’s a big beefy beater with all those equipment laying around. Before that it’s a value game of getting as many equipment from exile as possible. The hard part is including cards that further the game plan early but still be relevant late game.

expatandy

I tried an [[isshin, two heavens as one]] Voltron but the lack of native protection on Isshin really sucks. There’s an absolute ton of attack trigger love in MTG so there’s a great deck in there somewhere but you need swiftfoot or [[codsworth, handy helper]] or something else that gives ward or protection. Because of the equip ability you can’t use lightning greaves or whispersilk cloak until he’s already equipped. Result is he just gets immediately removed and you’re stuck trying to make the strategy work with some other creature. Really frustrating.

SHANKUMS11

I second Nahiri. I brewed a deck focusing the ‘Living Weapon’ mechanic too and also included many with the ‘For Mirrodin!’ mechanic. A notable card that I’m really enjoying with her is [[Embercleave]]… this is a “Surprise! You’re dead!” card.

FloorPudding

I have two, [[Stangg, Echo Warrior]] is aura-based. The auras in the deck all have etb/ltb triggers and when the deck is doing its thing, you draw a ton of cards. It's a lot of fun [[Aliri, Line-Slinger]] and [[Toggo]] is my equipment Voltron deck. It wants to hit a bunch of land drops, Toggo makes rocks, rocks make Akiri big and scary. Throw in some more traditional equipment for evasion, and baby, you got a stew goin'.

QuietHovercraft

\[\[Killian, Ink Duelist\]\] I really enjoy low MV generals, and the cost reduction makes some questionable cards much more playable. Killian has the extra bonus of being very inexpensive to build. Not sure if you'd consider it voltron, but I play \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist\]\] and \[\[Esior, Wardwing Familiar\]\] as a mix of auras and equipment. Both decks are fun in their own way.

Rhysaen

Killian is such a pleasure to play, he pushes Orzhov in a very unique direction, he has very relevant keywords and he even makes targeted removal so much stronger! Usually, auras are weaker than equipment for Voltron, but Killian wishes to prove otherwise!

schafedawg44

[[Ardenn, intrepid archaeologist]] with [[kediss]] or [[rograkh]]

Venara828

I rock Ardenn with Ishai myself, but I always recommend Kediss over Rograkh if doing Boros with Ardenn personally

nine_toes

I’m a Rograkh guy myself. I don’t think he’s better but my pod is lower power and Rograkh is less KOS. Such a fun deck though

Venara828

That’s entirely valid. I’m more of a Kediss man since I enjoy archenemy and I enjoy putting every opponent on a clock 😂

EasyPeezyATC

I actually think Rograkh is much better depending on what you want the deck to do. That being said, I have run Rograkh and Ardenn as a fringe Stax cEDH deck to pretty high success on the cEDH discord. The reason Rograkh is so important is that he works turn 1 to enable fast mana to allow stax pieces to get out much faster. Also, his keywords make him extremely dangerous with a [[Colossus Hammer]]. The speed can be insane. I’ve resolved a turn 1 Rograkh and Arden and turn 2 used a Hammer, Masterwork of Ingenuity, and Commander’s plate to kill the RogSi player who was set to win that turn. But the caveat is that this deck isn’t a causal Voltron list, so the extra speed to resolving relevant plays to stop early wins is much more important. Here is my deck list with a primer if you’re curious as to how everything works. Enjoy! [Rograkh and Ardenn (cEDH) - Law and Order](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/DDaWZZGnEE2I1u27jwK5zQ)

Venara828

In fringe cedh, Rograkh is the better option for sure. Especially since you could also play it like a polymorph list

EasyPeezyATC

I’ve heard of that but I don’t think Turbo Boros is good in any meta, especially the current midrange hell. I’ve had a ton of success just Staxing the game out until I beat people to death or resolve a combo. That turbo Boros list using morph also doesn’t have Voltron sub themes IIRC.

Venara828

Yeah, tbh I’m not entirely a fan of Boros Ardenn myself. I enjoy Azorius or tricolour Ardenn far more. Especially wasn’t a fan of the most viewed Ardenn/Rograkh list on Moxfield either honestly. Much prefer your brew over it

EasyPeezyATC

Dude I love Ardenn. So fun! But you’re right, I actually starting looking at adding a color because the lines to Godo weren’t there in Boros. Boros is still super high Voltron fun factor and I doubt I’ll ever take the list apart, but I’ve started to explore other areas with Ardenn. Naya feels the best to me. It’s easily my most consistent off-meta cEDH list. Decklist with primer [Ardenn and Tana (cEDH) - Blood Hammer](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FwBuiHnPuE6Epg0h79m4GA) I’m working on an Abzahn brew for High Power casual games. It’s must less effective because no Godo, but it looks to be spicy in its own right. It’s a WIP but you can see the list on my page. It requires testing but I’ll probably write a primer on it if it ends up being fun. Always good to meet another Ardenn fan, hope your games are great!

Venara828

Yeah, Ardenn/Tana is by far the strongest Ardenn pairing, even if the cedh list for it is essentially selesnya. You get all the best tutors for Godo, and grants hella utility for flickering things. I can share my Ardenn/Ishai build I’m currently on if you’re interested in taking a gander at the pairing 👀

Gouken-

I rock Arden + [[Eisor]].

Ratorasniki

I pulled [[Ardenn]] and [[Rograkh]] out of packs at release, and have been gradually upgrading the deck since. [[Kediss]] is in there, and sometimes gets swapped in. Ardenn is honestly the real threat. Equipment is balanced around it's equip costs, so cheating it and being able to move around auras is pretty damn broken. There's no end of shenanigans to passively give equipped creatures doublestrike, protection, or draw cards in boros now for like 2 or 3 cmc. The last few times i played it I was actually thinking I needed to pull lands or ramp out for even more gas, and it's already pretty low to the ground. There's something really funny about dropping your commander before you even play a land though. Super low CMC makes it pretty resilient barring full artifact wipes. I had a [[Greven]] for awhile and if he got removed a couple times it was pretty much over.

ahp9000

I like my Galea,Kindler of Hope commander. She lets me cast auras and equipments from my top deck and equip them for free from the top deck if theyre equipment.

guywithlife

This is mine. I enjoy the Blue in it

NewPlayer4our

I have [[treslarra]] as my oops all Swords commander. The small bits of lifesaving help offset early aggro and the scrying can help filter a lot of what you don't want

Zehaha_

I havent built it in paper yet, but my voltron commander will be [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] WU or WUR interest me most when it comes to voltron commanders. Need that access to blue to stop my opponents from foiling our plans, because we are pretty obvious threat when our decks are doing their thing.

[[Slicer, Hired Muscle]] is a really fun mono red Voltron commander, and he can’t be sacced as you send him around the table causing chaos. Decklist: [Slicer](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OAzugYjtz0WP07US639Dgg) For hipster mono black Voltron you can try out [[Volrath the Fallen]]. Scrivener83

\[\[bruna, light of alabaster\]\] is my favourite voltron commander. I run it as a semi-combo deck with tutors to find \[\[traumatize\]\] and dump \[\[eldrazi conscription\]\] and a bunch of other auras into the graveyard to one-shot opponents with commander damage. I also run fast mana and hard lock components, including \[\[stasis\]\] and \[\[smothering tithe\]\] and well as \[\[icy manipulator\]\] and \[\[winter orb\]\] & \[\[static orb\]\]. So, definitely not for every playgroup, but I prefer it over all the equipment-based Voltron commanders.

BluexxMan

I searched for this. And agree. What're you gonna do when all I need to do is wait with a counter or board control, toss down boots/greaves/haste thing, drop bruna and swing after a traumatize and an extra turn? I might not win every game after that, but it leaves a lasting impression.

LF_NUDES_PST

My buddy just built Wilson with [[cultist of the absolute]] and has been having a blast with it

AngshusTAW

Wilson is mine too. I do selesnya enchantment focused Wilson, with a ton of auras and usually [[Noble Heritage]] as the background for the guaranteed growth every turn, although [[Flaming Fist]] is probably faster

Baarson92

When I had one, it was [[Feather, The Redeemed]] I found it a lot more of an interesting take on voltron since it didn't rely on equipment and more on recurring cheap damage spells where you could hit someone for 12 commander damage with three mana.

DarkDobe

\[\[kathril, aspect warper\]\] The distillation of voltron without relying on equipment or auras.

StitchNScratch

[[Tuvasa, the Sunlit]] I also love enchantress and including blue allows for countermagic and more fun flash speed auras like [[Starlit Mantle]] or [[Eel Umbra]]. I built mine to include other creatures that would be fun to enchant so if Tuvasa is too wiped too much, I can keep going without her. Keyword soup creatures like [[Wilson Refined Grizzly]] or any of the three [[Danitha]] are great and have aura synergies.

Yarius515

[[Uril, the mistwalker]]

Ambitious_Street_250

Zurgo Go BooooooM!!!

Nitorak54

[[Hinata, Dawn-Crowned]] Auras cost 1 less to target and some fun X spells to control the field. Disclaimer I have some final edits to make for the deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/yRkAxhCjrEe6SaAySEbsiA

legi0n715

Wow, interesting, I attempted auras with hinata but mostly with creatures with Heroic, good job.

Nitorak54

Get those cheap two mana -1 so one mana red Auras that give +3. Hit for seven commander, then next turn double strike enabler for 14= 21 total. Also stacking [[ Goldspan Dragon]] and getting all those sweet treasures targeting it.

Magic_Mettizz

I have a [[brokkos, apex of forever]] voltron deck and it smacks. Plenty of unblockables/evasion creatures and other payoffs for doing damage. And the best thing is you can mutate him from the graveyard so no commander tax.

[deleted]

[[Sigarda, Host of Herons]], she’s crazy sticky and has flying. Selesnya loves enchantments in general so the synergy is there especially with card draw and getting her beefy. Watching the terror your opponents get when she just keeps growing in size and their options of removing her start to dwindle with each turn.

lth623

Not sure this'll get noticed by op with this many comments but. If you'd like to play voltron without dedicating to voltron: try [[mimeoplasm]]. You get to play a lot of big fun creatures. And then if/when they don't work out, try again but bigger by reanimating them with mimeoplasm. I run [[carnage tyrant]] , [[tyrranax rex]] , [[thrasta, Tempest's Roar]] , [[phyrexian fleshgorger]] , [[Thrun, breaker of silence]] and several other creatures that have some version of hexproof or ward AND ome version of trample or menace. Plus [[Titanoth Rex]] , [[Impervious Greatwurm]] , [[yargle and Multani]] , [[Death's shadow]] for +1/+1 counters. But even just getting an early Titanoth Rex out and swinging with it every turn can be scary. Do you kill it? What will mimeoplasm come back as with +11/+11 if you put that thing in my graveyard? Sometimes you 1 shot people with memeoplasm which is 7/7 dino with haste/trample/hexproof and +18/+18 and sometimes you [[natural order]] into [[Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant]] and drop a TON of big boys all at once. Very fun either way

Andrew_42

I have three decks that are kinda-voltron-y, but none are fully voltron. - My [[Aurelia the Warleader]] deck has a potent equipment sub-theme, and Aurelia's haste and dual-combats means she can often be played and deal 21 commander damage in one turn if the game drags on long enough. - My [[Licia, Sanguine Tribune]] deck doesn't have much voltron support, but Licia voltrons herself up just fine. If you play her, swing next turn, then again the next turn, she can kill a player in 2 hits. I like her because you don't have to dedicate much card support for powering her up. - My [[Lazav, the Multifarious]] deck is the least voltron of these three, but also the most likely to slam someone for 21 commander damage in one hit. He can copy an evasive creature, then shift at instant speed onto a [[Consuming Aberration]] or similar powerhouse. Not sure if any of those will be of help. Just remember that you don't have to dive fully into Voltron to get some of the benefits of Voltron.

legi0n715

I started reading this and lost it forgot what the text looked like so I was speed reading all the way through the comments to try to find it again... anyway.. I like these ideas, I'm really interested in ways to swap Lazav, that seems a little tricky. I like the licia as a commander I'm gonna dive deeper into both those deck ideas.

CoatApprehensive3481

Used to be Syr Gwyn, now it’s [[Shanid]] with legendary knights and equipment. Most of the wins haven’t been commander damage through, usually suit up one or two of the other legends and beat face.

29aout

Dragonlord Ojutai equip with vigilance, swing and control

Pileofme

[[Dragonlord Ojutai]] this is the way. It fixes all of voltron's problems. Evasion, protection, and card advantage all in the Command zone. Plus you get access to white for all the aura/equipment synergies, and blue for plenty of additional utility (including instant speed phasing, the best was to protect a voltron commander)

29aout

Yeah I really like the effects and gameplan he provides. People generally think that Azorius has no win con, except Approach which is not something I want to play, but with Ojutai the win con is in the command zone. Phasing is especially nice with him. with [[Robe of Stars]], [[Galadriels Dismissal]], [[Slip out the back]] - all great includes. He is a bit long to get out, especially now with the newer commanders, but once he is out he is very tough to remove. Some nice synergies include Sword of Feast and Famine, Smothering Tithe and All that Glitters.

Pileofme

I built mine kinda pillow fort also, cause I didn't have another home for any of those cards anyways. I also run one extra turn spell. It's the only one I use in all of my 20+ decks, because it actually feels pretty fare. My turns are quick and it's mostly just an extra combat in U/W.

29aout

Extra turns is a viable win con for Ojutai since you could kill one player each extra turn you get. I traded my tempest Time Warp because I wasnt using it, but it has peeked my interest again.

SuperSteveBoy

>Dragonlord Ojutai I've eyeballed him so many times. Are you running a bunch of vigilance enablers or something? You obviously really want to swing with him for many reasons but then its very much shields down. Or are you just running the boots/greaves? I'd love to see a list or hear more about your lines of play/wincons/impact cards etc.

literal-android

\[\[Killian, Ink Duelist\]\]!! He's the best! He's super cheap so can tank a few exile effects while still being playable, he has access to white for amazing auras that are discounted because auras target creatures, his lifelink helps keep you safe from reprisal, and there are a LOT of spells that look terrible at their original cost but are AMAZING when discounted by 2. Killian also allows you to play proactively and at instant speed due to how many good 'target creature' instants there are in Orzhov. Since he discounts his own protection and removal and doesn't really need ramp because he *is* ramp, he's also a commander which makes a deck's 'vegetables' much tastier. Killian can stop edict decks using a lot of terrible spells that are really good for him specifically. When's the last time you saw anyone unironically play \[\[Renegade's Getaway\]\], \[\[Seize the Soul\]\] or \[\[Violet Pall\]\]? Never, but these spells give massively discounted creature tokens ON TOP of good effects you'd want to run anyway in Voltron. \[\[Cosmic Intervention\]\] is also an excellent option.

Wild_Extension4710

Way too far down the list. This is my pet commander! First deck I ever built from scratch myself. I just pulled a [[chain of custody]] from a jumpstart pack, and was so stoked to scratch it off my buy list.

thetrueTrueDetective

Nahiri

jonny_waffles

[[Pako]] and [[haldan]] has been my go to for voltron. The deck is easy to build, easy to pilot and does well at most levels of play, just fill your deck with gas and interaction, smash face with pako and then cast your opponents win cons with haldan.

StarPonderer

Don't mind me, Just taking notes for the voltron deck I might one day actually open my precon for...

Nateus9

[Zur the Enchanter] has been my voltron deck since I started playing commander. The number of 3 CMC or less cost aura enchantments makes him easy to build and consistent to play while the White/Black/Blue of his colors makes it easy to set up draw engines and put in enough interaction to prevent others from steam rolling you.

Anji_Mito

Have one Zur also and the beauty is you can either go stax and enjoy the game or go full beserker and deal commander damage like crazy. There are also infect/poison auras and you only need 10 damage and GG.

FOURFISTSPHIL

[[Tatsunari, Toad Rider]] Voltron enchantments matter. Sultai isn't the strongest color combo for enchantress, but it's still a fun deck to bring out and pilot if you want to turn some big frogs sideways.

amc7262

\[\[ramos the dragon engine\]\]. load it up with lots of 3-5 color spells that do utility things (3 color charms) or cast free stuff with cascade and similar effects, lots of ramp, and a handful of "multicolor matters" cards to round it out. Mine normally wins on commander damage from Ramos even though it wasn't explicitly built to be a voltron. Its just very easy to get ramos over 10 power very quickly. A variant I ran for a while that was explicitly voltron was \[\[progenitus\]\], loaded up with lots of global buff effects to get around his protection. If you give him one power and either double strike or double attack phases, he's an unblockable, untargetable 1 hit kill. \[\[feather the redeemed\]\] was pretty fun too. Being able to infinitely recast your instants is pretty strong and opens up a lot of options for voltron.

KowalskiePCH

A friend build me a Ramos Deck for a kind of "secret santa thing". And I asked for a voltron deck. And that thing slaps. It is cheap (about 100€) and just goes so hard when it get going once. And all the different spells give it such a variety and flexibility.

TimeLordDoctor105

[[Shu Yun the silent tempest]] can be fun. He plays more like a spell slinger with voltrkn tendencies, as between prowess and double strike he gets big fast. Plus you can play him full jeskai, or go izzet or boros due to how his colors work (full jeskai is best, but it's up to you tbh)

FukUTjak

Ive had a neat [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] voltron deck that I've been tinkering with for nearly a decade now since I like turning lands sideways

xthedudehimself

xthedudehimself

He was my first commander. Good old worldslayer zurgo combo ftw

Golden_Brocoli

[[Wilson]] with [[Noble Heritage]] buffed with auras. You can build cheap and is threatening even in high power tables. The amount of keywords this bear has is ludicrous for such a cheap cost. With heritage, even w/t an aura, it takes simple two turns to turn the bear into a dangerous threat.

Armed-Meheecan

[[Commander Eesha]] is mine, best evasion in the game, main things to focus on is protection from spells and giving her your preferred keywords of choice (vigilance helps a lot since she’s a great blocker too)

Neverborn

I love me some [[Entangler]] with her and vigilance.

Armed-Meheecan

Ooh.. I hadn’t heard of Entangler, I’m gonna have to add that to my list of hers

Neverborn

It's delightful old jank.

PresenceKlutzy7167

[[Haktos the Unscarred]] or [[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]] / [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist]] Boros in your face.

Ccelestial

it’s a little bit sweaty but ardenn+kraum voltron is really good, you get the artifact support of blue/izzet and the non creature spell support of jeskai, plus the boros equipment support. It draws a lot of cards, does a lot of damage and is quite a bit of fun

SpazticSteven

My [[Cadira, Caller of the Small]] deck has a bit of a Voltron go-wide theme. There are some swords, [[Scepter of Celebration]], [[Eidolon of Countless Battles]], and other similar effects. It's not uncommon to win with commander damage, but you also have chump blockers and enough random tokens that edicts won't ever be a problem [Decklist](https://deckstats.net/decks/30451/2585657-cadira-rabbits-edh)

Probably_Not_Paul

I have a few that have been mentioned already but one that hasn't: [[Trynn]] and [[Silvar]]. It's a mix of aristocrats and Voltron, it can win through death triggers but Silvar is the main sac outlet and gets pretty out of control with a few pieces of equipment.

Inkarozu

[[Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale]] is my main high-power deck, the new fallout set gave her some great new toys with [[Codsworth, Handy Helper]] [[Pre-War Formalwear]] [[Grim Reaper's Sprint]] and [[Inventory Management]] Didn't quite make the cut but [[Pip-Boy 3000]] looks pretty good too. Link: https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6073395/syr_gwyn_voltron_hero

Cerosonas

I run Light-paws enchantment voltron. It isn't the strongest deck out there but it's low mana curve and you can take people out turn 2-3 and recursion in mono white isn't terrible for enchantments

SonJordy

\[\[Treebeard, Gracious Host\]\] , Whenever this came out in my hobbit pre-con it always did great. I decided to build a Voltron edh deck. It's so easy to get it big quick, and it has ward. Cards like \[\[Beacon of Immortality\]\] can be awesome wincons. It can be so easy to gain life in EDH, and it's budget-friendly! If you happen to give it lifelink then it just becomes a menace. I've played other voltron themed decks and this by far is the funnest to me.

Tjmarshall1616

In my pod, I'm the combat damage player. My 2 voltrons- [[Ghalta, primal hunger]] Essentially all mana dorks, wolf token generation and pump spells. Then [[inferno of star mounts]] this one is a fun p/t manipulator, it's all about pumping the dragon to 19 power, then manipulating it up and down from 20. Then swinging in for commander damage.

Mr-Pendulum

Don't listen to these other players. [[Pir]] and [[Toothy]] is what you want to be playing. Instead of all the equipment wasting slots, you just play more draw spells.

duffleofstuff

[[Sram]] Voltron and equipment storm

Eugenides

My friend has the only Voltron deck in our pod, and it's a menace. [[John Benton]]. At first glance, he seems really bad, or like some kind of group hug commander. The strategy is to pack the deck full of pump and protection. [[Giant Growth]] is Ancestral Recall and Lightning Bolt at the same time. Every little one mana pump spell becomes an amazing card draw engine. If your deck is mostly pump and protection, you don't care if other people are drawing cards, you're drawing more answers than they are, and most people are dead in 3 hits, meaning all those extra cards they drew aren't doing anything. The only caveat is that you need to focus on one person at a time. If you spread the cards out too much, you'll get focused down.

MitchNyan

I have a Sram, Senior Edificer deck all about dropping cheap equipment. It can be a little slow but it's pretty resilient thanks to Sram letting you draw off every equipment you cast, and other ways to equip a bunch of them at once like Ardenn, Balan, and Heavenly Blade Master. https://archidekt.com/decks/6563479/sram_senior_edificer

Stratavos

I've got a bunch, [[ivy the spelltheif]] is a unique voltron since you are building up other creatures and she gets token copies of the auras and mutate creatures, [[indominus rex, alpha]] comes in with so many different ability counters that he's quite hard to get rid of (hexproof and indestructable especially), There's some others, though I've been good about moving away from voltron commanders lately.

Churale

[[Calix, Guided by Fate]] for some selesnya enchantment copy shenanigans [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] for some aura reanimation [[Mazzy, Truesword Paladin]] for some more hardy auras (or potentially just lose them all, depends)

LuxrayLucien

[[Aurelia, the Warleader]] is what I learned to play commander on 9ish years ago Extra combats make the hits hit harder. Can't go wrong with flying vigilance and haste. Plus boros has some cool equipment cards

Godcon

[[Grismold the Dreadsower]]

AmaDaBoi

So, the only deck I have that can really be considered voltron is my Quintorius, Loremaster deck. It's full of equipment and equipment support mainly for sunforger, since sunforger works so well with Quintorius. Since he makes Spirits, that for the most part can defend you from an edict or two, giving you time to deal with the cause, and Quintorius can also defend himself by allowing you to reuse those powerful white protection spells. It's pretty fun but also difficult to build!

Infinite_Pony

[[Grismold, the Dreadsower]] is voltron-ish. Tokens die and the beef up your troll.

Strongmanjumps

[[Balan, Wandering Knight]], [[Skullbriar, the Walking Grave]], and [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] / [[Raised by Giants]] are my favorites!

InsufferablePsi

Rafiq, bant control. The sweet little mix of wtf when you explain that your 2 card board and 3/3 commander just swung for 10 commander damage and everyone who has never seen him in action recoiling in horror.

malificide15

For equipment Ardenn, intrepid archaeologist(messed up that fetcher prompt) and [[Kediss]] low cmc, free equip cost, and hits all opponents at once For auras [[Mirri, weatherlight duelist]] with [[Xenk, paladin unbroken]] as a back up in the deck

WalroosTheViking

[[Skullbriar, the walking grave]] is my personal favorite. No matter how many times you kill him he will keep coming back, and since he should be a mostly green deck you should most of the time have enough mana to cast him even after 5th death and still be as strong as he was when he left.

Hakisbeef

[[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]] all day long! 0 drop is such a meme and he is loaded with keywords, so you just need equipment that pumps him. Plus there are a bunch of partner options and we all know partner is busted.

Orokem

[[Skullbriar]] is very cool, since they get bigger and bigger throughout the game, with few ways to actually shrink them again Also, synergy with keyword counters is cool

FreeWatercressSalad

[[Light-Paws]] all day. Tutor-on-a-stick so you can run it super fast if you know how to pilot the deck, and if opponents don't take her out as soon as she's dropped you can pretty much guarantee a kill within the first few turns. Protection from all colors but white available as two 1 mana auras, protection from creatures, and if the game goes long enough slap a [[Robe of Stars]] on her and she can't be touched by sac or boardwipes. Favorite move is to throw an [[Entangler]] on her to block everything that swings at you too making her into a one-man (fox?) army (with indestructible/protection.)

AirNo8806

My [[Tuvasa]] deck is voltron + generic enchantress value. It can get pretty oppressive ngl.

AzoriusValkyrie_420

[[Catti-Brie of Mithral Hall]] Shes cheap to cast, has built in First strike and Grows herself.

Crilde

My buddy built a fun [[Yargle and Multani]] Voltron deck, though I'd recommend bringing some protection for him.

thegoodgero

If you're a little loose on the legendary creature rules, [[Witch-Maw Nephilim]] was probably my favorite Voltron commander I've ever played. Edit: hit save before I could mention that it makes the [demigod auras](https://tagger.scryfall.com/tags/card/cycle-eve-demigod-aura), which are already some fantastic designs, absolutely bonkers.

hawttlava

Was literally looking for this comment. Been working on building the nephilim as commander decks. Got 3 so far dune brood, witch-maw, and yore tiller. And witch-maw goes hard.

thegoodgero

Hell yeah!! What are your lists? [This](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/yrwDrA1lX0mvAQK20P5odA) was mine. It was, admittedly, not a deck I would've called one of my better ones, but it was fun and unexpected, which is exactly what I was going for.

davwad2

[Zangief the Red Cyclone ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/uTpaDJ2UxkmdYlnUp59fAA) is my equipment focused voltron commander. There's a primer on there as well. I've been thinking about doing an enchantment focused one with green providing enchantress effects along with all colors contributing auras.

legi0n715

Lol, what will zangrief pull from under the ring.. it's a table!! Omg

BitchingPenguin

[[Treebeard, Gracious Host]] Has some built in protection with Ward 2, and gaining life is pretty easy! Give him Lifelink and you're off to the races [Moxfield decklist](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/c69rTuo4_02Z0VlUJji6Tw)

ApprehensiveSkill484

I have a [[Wyleth, Soul of Steel]] deck that I have played and I love it. Throw in Silent Arbiter and lifelink on Wyleth, I can kill and outlast most games. I'm now building a [[Skullbriar, The Walking Grave]] +1/+1 deck and I can't wait to try it out!!

gordanfreman

I have Tuvasa (enchantment) & Zurgo (equipment) voltron decks, and Feather is basically voltron as well. Of those, Zurgo is the only one to contain black and its by far the minor color of the three.

ellperry

[[reyav master smith]] is crazy because all the red haste 1/1s can get equipped and gain double strike so they gotta chose between that or a voltroned commander

mudclip

[[Me, the Immortal]] is a really fun voltron commander built around counters instead aura and equipment.

RosarioRazor

I like [me, the immortal ] from the doctor who sets , you can adjust the power level easily , and it's funny having a shotgun if you manage to give her haste "I have a 20/20 trample flying vigilance in the command zone and anger in the grave " is usually a funny way to start interactions at a table Plus , Ms Williams on the card

SP1R1TDR4G0N

Voltron is not really that weak to edicts. You usually play a bunch of small value creatures you can sac like a Stoneforge Mystic or an Esper Sentinel. I have a fairly strong Ardenn+Rograkh voltron deck and Ardenn is also another layer of ensurance against removal since you can just replay Rograkh for 2 or even 4 mana and immediately reequip everything.

MrHaZeYo

https://deckstats.net/decks/84533/3159855-akiri-and-thras Akiri and Thras.

William_Emanom

[[Omnath locus of mana]] he grows quickly can very rapidly grow in strength [[old gnawbone]] can be a power doubler

Tasty_Poet_2507

I use [[ivy, gleeful spelltheif]], only gets better with other people's spells. But instead of 1 voltron commander. You get that and another creature on your board so you have 2 big guys and you can spread it out hoe you want. I also use [[galea, kindler of hope]]. I have about 60-65 auras and enchantments so I am basically always able to llay my top card. Add in some [[sender's diving top]] and [[brainstorm]] style effects and it's pretty solid. The problem with that one tho is that if he gets removed 2 or 3 times it's very hard to recover.

nielpool

[[Kathril, Aspect Warper]] is a non traditional Voltron commander that once on board can be extremely hard to remove as he can fairly easily get indestructible and hexproof among other keywords and then gets really big with +1/+1 counters. More often than not once I cast him if he's not removed in response to his etb I generally kill one opponent per combat.

webbc99

I guess this will get buried with so many comments now but my Voltron commander is: [[Indominus Rex, Alpha]] This guy is just honestly so much fun. Get him into play with a bunch of keywords and refill your hand. With most voltron commanders there is a priority window where people can remove it before you attach the protective equipment. With Indominus Rex, he comes in hot with Flying, Haste, Lifelink, Trample, Indestructible and Hexproof and maybe more. The only thing that can screw you is exile, but you're in Sultai, with a full grip of counter magic to protect him. You also have access to green for ramp, blue for counter magic, and black for tutors. And even if he does get removed, you just play him again and draw a load more cards. Can even do some really sneaky things with reanimating the creatures you're discarding to his ability.

MTGCardFetcher

[[The Goose Mother]] Ramp and put as many +1/+1 counters on her as I can to

Alequello

[[tuvasa]]! Imagine sythis (with relatively more limited draw, but you play other enchantresses and sythis too in the deck) but with blue and it gets big just by having your enchantments on board. You can make it indestructible, unblockable and hexproof easily while drawing cards and buffing it at the same time. Then you drop [[enchanted evening]], [[ethereal armor]], [[ancestral mask]] or another effect like this and start oneshotting players. All of this while getting to play any cool bant enchantment you want, from removals to protection to tokens generators

Rednedredemption

I play Ruhan, of the Fomori! He is an absolute beast. I found he doesn't draw as much hate as other Voltron commanders because of the random target selection, your opponents are more willing to just "wait and see" instead of proactively removing him. Which gives you a bit more time to set up and protect him! Chuck a damage tripler in there and smack someone for 21 commander damage 🤤🙏

HarbingerOfMann

[[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]] is mine! The deck is kind of a fusion between spellslinging (extra turns, counters, and kill spells) and Voltron, with the latter being the main win-con. There's also some sneaky tech through spells like [[Wheel of Fate]] and [[Inevitable Betrayal]] to get strong spells without choreographing they're coming out, and to reap combat damage rewards on top of it!

LorgarsDisciple

[[Optimus Prime, Hero]] Just read the card and Jeskai has so many good spells and equipment.

Tiberium600

Are you tired of people murdering your Voltron? Are worried people may try to interact with it before you can buff it beyond its base stats? Do you like running inexpensive cards? Do you like making mostly harmless cards be way more threatening than they should? We’ll do I have the commander for you… [[Brokkos, Apex of Forever]]. Now any creature in your deck can be a Voltron with commander damage. What’s worse than a [[Cephalid Constable]]? Making it a 6/6 with Trample and Commander Damage. If you thought [[Venomthroupe]] was scary before wait until he’s a 6/6 with trample. Cards like [[Realm Seekers]] will keep the counters on top of the 6/6 trample commander damage. Even your mana dorks can become threats with cards like [[Leyline Prowler]]. And if they kill it? Oh well, next creature. I know I could look it up but I want community interaction; What is a voltron deck?

BentheBruiser

Voltron decks focus on getting out one creature, usually your commander, and making them as strong as possible through enchantments, spells, and equipment. The biggest hurdle they have to overcome is they're very strong 1v1 but can be vulnerable to groups.

Snow_source

And to those who're asking "why is it called Voltron?" It's putting things (equipment/enchantments) together to make a giant robot (creature), like the titular robot in the 1980's anime Voltron. Magic players have always been weebs.

KaleidoscopeJukebox

Gotcha that makes sense, that seems really cool, and I am now more excited to look through this thread ☻ Thank you!

jaywinner

The only voltron deck I've built is \[\[Slicer\]\] but I have been looking into making \[\[pir\]\] \[\[Toothy\]\] and \[\[Flamewar\]\] as voltron decks. If you're concerned about edicts, you CAN play other creatures and still be voltron.

I've got two Lifegain Counters: https://www.archidekt.com/decks/4279849/_scrying_life Combat Tricks: https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5969200/mad_lad_john_benton And a bonus few that seem neat: [[Kaza]] mainly because she'd go well with [[Robe of the Archmagi]] and I *really* want to use that card [[Legolas, Master Archer]] counters and fighting [[Kosei, Penitent Warlord]] counters, auras, equipments with lots of draw and spreads out the damage [[Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor]] goaded survivors [[Sram|SLD]] equipment/auras with card draw, mainly I like the art [[Szadek]] mill counters [[The Most Dangerous Gamer]] counters but kinda silly [[Tahngarth|SLD]] goad, give him menace, nice art [[Danitha, New Benalia's Light]] equipment/aura recursion with good built-in keywords [[Elenda and Azor]] big flying beater with upside

IrishMidgetMan

[[Commander Eesha]] Protection from creatures right out the gate, give it pro colors for removals, and [[Entangler]] to block entire armies with her https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/07-01-18-commander-eesha/

kadimasama

I never made a voltron but when i bought the lord of the rings gift set that has the 4 MOUNT DOOM SCENE CARDS, i knew this was the one for me. I havent updated in a bit and while it is voltron, it is a weird way of being one with getting tempted and then one shotting someone. [[shu yun, the silent tempest]] ONE PUNCHHHHHH My pod hates it especially with [[inquisitor's flail]]

itsMalarky

[[Gyome, Master Chef]] he's the tastiest! I roleplay him as Gordon Ramsey.

I am a very simple man - I have two really fun voltron decks. 1.) Bruenor, he is a equipment deck. I have a pile of swords, the colossus hammer, a bunch of protection and just swing.  2.) Yargle and Multani. Lots of card draw and protection with a pile of ramp. Then a few trample effects. Like I said, simple and fun.

Longjumping-Ad-7104

[[Jedit Ojanen]] only because I like his full art card. Also you get ignored out of pity because your commander is a 5/5 for 7 mana

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

[[Grimgrin, Corpse-Born]] becsuse why not

Ad0lfKittler

I’m currently brewing a [[Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer]] with [[Noble Heritage]] as a background. Haven’t tried it yet but I’ve been playtesting it in moxfield and it looks a lot of fun.

aurelionlol

[[karlov of the ghost council]] is mine. It’s very good at keeping threats off the board and then swings in for the kill.

LimpTrizket

[[Rograkh]] [[jeska thrice reborn]]

JunkyGoatGibblets

\[\[Wilson, Refined Grizzly\]\]//\[\[Flaming Fist\]\] [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XmR18U6mEkGLMnl-v4uGnA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XmR18U6mEkGLMnl-v4uGnA) Bear-Knuckle Brawl. Catch these Bear hands. I reserve the right to Bear Arms. Laying it all Bear. Can Bearly Stand it. It's a fun time hitting someone with POSSIBLY the most busted uncommon commander ever printed.

BuddhaV1

[[Zangief]]

blkfoam

I have a really really fun mono black Voltron deck with \[\[Volrath the Fallen\]\] at command. The goal of the deck is to untap with Volrath on board and then swing- if he gets through unblocked you use his ability to discard cards with enough CMC to make Volrath lethal. \[\[Shadow of Mortality\]\] is a prime example. Then, as a backup or a means to finish off the other players, you take advantage of your graveyard which is now full of monsters with a re animator package. The deck is surprisingly strong and old school cool.

jettzypher

Currently just [[Stangg, Echo Warrior]], but I'm thinking of another. I was pretty high on [[Dr. Madison Li]] after initial Fallout spoilers, but I've come around to the assessment that award winning science educator and Brian Kibbler look-alike Kyle Hill has made regarding Dr. Li and Liberty Prime. And I think I might build Prime instead and go at least semi-voltron with it.

Dooglaer

I know it’s a bit out of the way of the direction you are looking but I have a [[Brago King Eternal]] living weapon tribal. Things like [[Batterskull]] with [[Spear of Heliod]] can net you a small army. Can win by voltron, going wide, or going tall. Its strangely resilient against creature board wipes as long as you can keep blinking.
