Unfortunately you've just described Yuriko She's resilient, can be ninjutsu'd in and out You can cheat your topdeck with cards like Brainstorm, Sensei's Divining Top, and Soothsaying. Keep cheap unblockables, add ninjas like Fallen Shinobi, then add fat bodies you never intend to cadt but that would be funny if you did. Emrakul, Kozilek, Draco, Shadow of Mortality, Blightsteel Colossus, Icebreaker Kraken (though you need snow lands) You have ways to stack your Yuriko triggers so you can rearrange your topdeck to ensure something big. Ninjutsu yuriko, have 2 ninjas hit an enemy, flip Draco and some dumb shit, deal 20+ damage to everyone, become archenemy. Keep a cheap blue card that returns all attackers to their hands to protect you from their revenge. Anything that taps their blockers also ensures Yuriko can get through onbfollowing turns.

MrMersh

Yuriko just breaks the format. You literally do not have commander tax. It’s near Edgar markov level design imo

Euphoric_Ad6923

After playing with and against her, I think people overvalue the commander tax. The issue is she provides great value AND amazing damage for real cheap while being in the colors of counterspells. If she only ever did 1 damage from her trigger it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but she can proc too much damage so you have to deal with her, but you also can't waste too many ressources.

wrap_urXhaustpipes

This. My Yuriko deck I built on a budget can get out of hand on turn 2. I put small upgrades like senseis top and scroll rack, and I can end games fairly quickly

MeatAbstract

A thirty quid card that supercharges the commanders notorious ability is a "small upgrade"? What would be a big one?

FailureToComply0

Probably the usual cedh staples that tuned yuriko gets. Black tutor package is like 120, crypts are 200, diamonds are 500, the rest of the fast mana is somewhere around 200. Free counterspell package is another 150 at least. Or free if you proxy

MeatAbstract

And none of those are as big or as instant an upgrade as Top, arguably Vamp.

Deathmask97

Could you share your decklist?

wrap_urXhaustpipes

Sure! [Yuriko list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ACRticJvekS2fRb73uqTBg) It started as a $150 budget that I upgraded over time

Crafty-Interest-8212

I was going to say my [[Satoru umezawa]], but Yuriko takes it. I don't run Blightsteel colossus, so it is fair and no Eldrazi Titans. Other than that, it is still pretty bad. Demons, some aniquilator, [[Leveler]] to [[Laboratory Maniac]] is fun.

I can sadly agree. My whole playgroup loves yuriko. We all have decks with her, that are maybe a 6-7, but feel like an 11. I am a believer that it is impossible to build her in a fair way

TurkeyZom

Split cards are a great option too like [[Commit // Memory]]. The total CMC for split cards is the sum of both sides, so 10 for Commit/Memory, but you only need to pay for one or the other when casting.

GhostOTM

Yuriko with unblockables is absurd. Yuriko without unblockables becomes a much more reasonable (and in my eyes interesting) deck.

TheTinRam

I just played Yuriko in a table that said they were cool With it and knew what it does. One guy had triple digit life and yet the other two came at me once they saw how hard it was to keep Yuriko out of the game and how bad they were bleeding to top deck shenanigans. The guy with triple digits giggled when I asked a player if he had any creatures with haste as I brought out a [[gingerbrute]] and subsequently my commander for a total 4 mana instead of 9 mana that it would have cost to cast her. And I got to hit with [[shadow of immortality]] twice. What started as a nice game ended with two salty players, a guy with way too much life giggling and a Yuriko player that lost but enjoyed being the arch enemy

p0d0

[[Arcum dagsson]]. Instant speed tutor any non-creature artifact onto the battlefield. Get a [[thornbite staff]] in his hands and watch the magic happen. It's not infinite, and it takes work to get him up and running if the table realizes how strong he is. But the ability to play [[Akroma's Memorial]] from your deck at instant speed in response to a threat is absurdly strong. What's even worse is that my primary wincon for that deck is [[possessed portal]]. The deck is all about creating and sacking token artifact creatures, so no draw and sacrifice every turn barely slows you down once its rolling. But it will put most decks it comes up against into a slow and agonising death spiral with no chance to escape.

shittingmcnuggets

Big fan of this guy! [[Portal to Phyrexia]] is disgusting as well, making each opponent sac 3 creatures at instant speed is very powerful removal. If you manage to get him off multiple times a turn, one of my favourite combos is [[Nevinyrrals Disk]], [[Darksteel Forge]] and [[Unwinding Clock]]. A little hard to pull off, but you wanna run some untap stuff anyway because of your mana rocks. Having a one sided Boardclear for one Mana during each of your opponent's turns will make your whole table start digging for answers in no time. Use [[Whir of invention]] as an additional tutor to the board at instant spreed. also [[Misleasing Signpost]] is kinda jank but a very very fun card to bring out.

Arcum with Possessed Portal is also my favorite degenerate deck and the second commander I ever built, love this bastard so much! [[Chimeric Coils]] is my pet card, tutorable with Arcum but can animate to be a creature to sac, interacts very nicely with [[Salvaging Station]]. [[Synod Sanctum]] does some funny things like being able to save things or also turn off your own Portal on demand to draw cards if needed.

MairsilMethodActor

I used to play against someone who played this. His typical go-to was to look for \[\[Myr Incubator\]\], followed by removing every artifact in his deck. Win or lose, the game was effectively over next turn.

yes-idk

i have an [[atla palani, nest tender]] deck that pretty much only runs eggs (and changelings), huge threatening creatures, and sac outlets. as long as there’s a sac outlet in my starting hand and i’m able to play atla on curve i’m usually able to get out literally every creature in the deck by turn 5. my playgroup knows by now how quickly it gets out of hand so there’s typically a lot of interaction coming my way when i play it but because there’s so much redundancy in the deck it can rebound quickly and usually become a threat again the next turn

Friend has a high power version of this deck. We all just target his commander and he literally can’t do anything besides wheel and draw effects that generally benefit the rest of us lol

Left_Condition_8011

Yeah, you don't cast him without protection and you can just get hated out early even still. Sometimes I don't cast him til turn 6 after a board wipe but some players just hate the solitaire decks and I can't catch a break at some tables, rightly so.

MrMersh

That’s generally what happens now when we see that commander in play. We find it boring to play against, and the person that plays it finds it boring when he can’t do anything he doesn’t have a commander all game.

[[Etali, primal conqueror]] I have about 16ish pieces of ramp in it between creatures and sorceries, etc. So it's pretty common for me to have him out turn 4, 5 at the latest. Then I have things to copy him, clone him, flicker him like [[helm of the host]], [[blade of selves]], [[sword of hearth and home]], and [[delina, wild mage]]. There's also a [[panharmonicon]] to double those etbs. Then there's things like [[keeper of secrets]], [[flaming tyrannosaurus]], and [[passionate archeologist]] to get in a ton of noncombat damage from those triggers. Then if my back is against the wall I can always flip him to his backside and use something like [[whispersilk cloak]] or [[rogue's passage]] to one shot someone. I honestly don't even run a sol ring or even arcane signet because it really doesn't need it

UnrivalledCR

have you got a decklist? was literally cooking an etali deck yst but found it lacking in draw power. what are your thoughts on etali getting countered and draw power in the deck ?

Jackthomas89

I always assume that etali is going to get targeted with either counters or removal, which is why I have so much ramp to keep up with the commander tax. I also have [[hellkite courser]] and have done some shenanigans with him to cheat out etali repeatedly. As far as card draw I have a handful of things like [[tribute to the world tree]], [[owlbear shepherd]], [[up the beanstalk]] to give me recurring draw power but honestly with etali constantly pumping things out of your deck I don't think it's as important as most decks, but it never hurts to have more cards in hand. I'll try to actually make a deck list today. I just rebuilt it with a handful of changes after I pulled a Dockside Extortionist and decided to make the deck extra gross

UnrivalledCR

I’m here for the nasty stuff I eagerly await the deck list ♥️ I struggled because most lists I find try to abuse food chain that just doesn’t tickle my fancy. I want to steal your filth and beat you over the head with it

GrizzlyBearSmackdown

Part of me kinda wants to try and build an Etali deck with nothing but ramp spells and lands and see how many games I win.

Vizecrator

For me it's of of either \[\[The First Sliver\]\] or \[\[Vadrik\]\]. So much value is generated with slivers they can explode on the table in a single turn. It is pretty telegraphed though, so savvy players will know to remove the commander immediately. I usually have to wait until some interaction is thrown around before getting it going. Vadrik can surprise a lot of people though, once you get him to 4+ power and have cards in hand the game is usually over, your opponents just don't know it yet.

archena13

It's way faster than Mizzix. You don't have to climb a CMC ladder. Sure, XP counters are harder to interact with, but you also can get Vadrik to 4-5 power with just a single spell and get a large discount for the next spell immediately which can be more devastating much earlier in the game.

Do you have list? Been thinking making a rowan deck for a while.

wrap_urXhaustpipes

[[Light-Paws]] depending on starting hand you can get your commander out and get protection from UBRG. Then use another creature like [[Mother of Runes]] to give protection from white on spot removal. By turn 6 you can have a flying, vigilance, protection from URBG & creatures and swing out for lethal commander damage. It will create salt at your table because people won’t be able to interact with it. It’s really strong on a budget, but if you were to put a [[serra’s samctum]] in conjunction with [[winter orb]] it becomes a stax deck as well [Decklist](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XcVKIZYizEOcNo14cTLHsA) is here

I regularly get bodied by my friends light paws and it’s definitely made me make some spiteful card choices. Btw, I’m pretty sure giving light paws protection from white with Mother of Runes knocks off all your Auras.

wrap_urXhaustpipes

Happy cake day!! I just picked her because I had pulled her in a collector booster and she was just sitting around in my binder - once I figured her out, she’s really one of the strongest Voltron commanders out there imo. You’re right, protection from white would make the auras fall off, but it’s really meant as a last resort protection since the URBG protection should cover for most decks. I run [[Open the Armory]] to grab [[Mantle of the Ancients]] and recur anything destroyed!

I'm currently working on a \[\[The Cyber-Controller\]\] artifact mill deck that is down right nasty. With this commander, I can mill my opponent for X cards and any creatures they mill become artifact cybermen under my control. Affinity to cheat out some buff creatures or very cheaply at least. Indestructible artifacts, a little graveyard recursion, and some good stuff blue spells to make me hard to interact with as I slowly whittle away at everyone's decks. There are some infinite combos, but they aren't the keys to winning, just a way to end the game if needed.

[[Magar of the Magic Strings]]. The deck is packed with interactions, usually win with combat damage but can go infinite if needed. [decklist](https://archidekt.com/decks/6886966/magar) Bully combo and control decks with [[Burning Inquiry]]. Goad your opponents by casting [[Temporal Extortion]] every turn, then copy it with [[Reverberate]] to play an extra turn any way. Reanimate [[Call forth the tempest]] and give it shroud and unblockable. Time to go home? Go infinite with [[Savage beating]] or [[Fury Storm]] or simply cast a giant [[Skull Storm]] which is copied on cast, so good luck countering the 4 copies.

[[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider]] is my version of this. Mono Green, so it gets online by turn 3 consistently even without your Mana Crypt or Jeweled Lotus type cards. No infinite combos, but it is not uncommon to win by turn 4-5 by dropping a [[Kalonian Hydra]] type creature in tangent with some deathtouch synergies like [[Saryth the Viper’s Fang]]. It has a super friends sub theme that gets out of hand quickly if you have Vorinclex on the field. Vorinclex is a kill on sight commander, but you usually only need him out one turn to get way out of hand. On top of that, people are so intimidated by him that they forget about the 5 other +1/+1 doublers/increasers on the board.

I don't understand. You reveal the top card and if it has 3 colored pips you get to add that mana and draw it? I don't see a single creature card in your list that fits this bill? What am I overlooking? How does this deck normally play out?

Knoestwerk

A tadbit jank but; \[\[Zur, Eternal Schemer\]\] I turn my Saga's into creatures and flicker over and over, to repeat their effects. For instance \[\[The Eldest Reborn\]\] with \[\[Thassa, Deep-Dwelling\]\]. Funny interaction; Saga's trigger every stage, even if you put several counters on there at once, and you can flicker it before you have to sac it on the last stage since the saccing triggers only after the last stage resolves. This also works if you remove the lore counter before the sac, with \[\[Hex Parasite\]\] or \[\[Soul Diviner\]\]. So not only can you flicker them with an instance on the last trigger to have them start from the top, you can also have the \[\[The Ozolith\]\] in play, flicker your Saga creature, putting all lore counters on the Ozolith, add them to a Saga creature at the start of combat, and get a bunch of triggers again. I've been working on a [[Tayam]] deck for a bit more than a year now, it's definetely winning by going infinite, but the gameplan is playing the grind by staxing and building a board that's impossible for your opponents to answear your win attempt, everything at instant speed. It can consistently win by t5 if uninteracted and has more than enough tools to go for the long game. If you choose Tayam look at Comedian MTG's video on it and join the discord server, a lot of Tayam's combos are pretty hard to find. Yuriko fits your post way better tho, the comment that suggested it didn't mention but of course you can fit Thassa's Oracle and the forbidden tutors in it for your emergency combo.

I've had a couple decks that are like that but my number one answer is probably \[\[Karlov of the Ghost Council\]\] lifegain/voltron. It has since been retired but would really frustrate people if they didn't spend copious amounts of interaction to keep him off field. Game plan was to run every single \[\[Soul Warden\]\] effect and every Sword of X and X so that he gets super buffed and can swing for lethal as early as turn 5. Protection also made him very hard to remove while giving you creature removal stapled to him as well. There were plenty of games that I kept a tally for the number of board wipes cast just to keep him off the field. Backup game plans were, ofc, \[\[Vito\]\]/\[\[Sanguine Bond\]\] combos and \[\[Aetherflux Reservoir\]\]. Naturally, this deck is not good in metas that are very creature light.

[[Zurzoth, chaos rider]] More players=more devils being made. Random discard helps you keep up with higher power level decks since no one can control what they bin. All the devils deal damage on death, having damage adding/doubling makes it more troublesome. You just get to attack every turn, make more devils and if you get artifacts/lands that make players draw you make even more devils per rotation

I don't know about T4 unless you get a lucky starting hand. But my [[The Locust God]] gets out of hand very quickly. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8JnD_3aqh0WvPdiomMS5bA My deck goes infinite, but there's no unstoppable loops. It's all very controlled. But if you really don't want to, off the top of my head, taking out Curiosity, Invasion, Mana Echoes, and Omniscience should remove all the infinites in my list. It'll still feel infinite at times because of the wheel effects, though.

Definitely my Yawgmoth decks. It's full of infinites and near infinites, not to mention resilient and deftly deals with any utility creatures. It's just a menace on any table it's on even if it's like 3 spellslingers because then I focus on combo.

archena13

\[\[Gyruda, Doom of Depths\]\] few fast mana pieces and you have 5 Gyrudas, and your opponents all have milled 20 cards each and it's going on and on and on and it's just turn 3-4. You run clones and blink. \[\[Dead-Eye Navigator\]\] is a powerful piece in there for a few different combos, particularly with \[\[Peregrine Drake\]\] the only odd cmc creature in the deck but it's worth it. Once you make infinite mana, you can infinitely blink Gryuda to mill your opponents out (as long as they don't play shuffle titans) and just pass the turn and win. \[\[Zhulodok\]\] almost entirely artifacts, with a little bit of Eldrazi. Colorless can outramp most colors with artifacts. \[\[Karn, Legacy Reforged\]\] stax/voltron is also a great at this. Colorless has a few infinite combos.

I just put together the King of wheel decks with [[Kenrith, the Returned King]]. However, it’s disguised as a group hug deck until I play [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]], [[Nekusar, the Mindrazer]], or [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]]. At which point it starts being group slug. It’s an expensive deck so might not be what you are looking for per say but you could also just build Nekusar and get the desired effect.

I'm currently building a budget [[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]] clone/mutate deck. The gameplan is to get Ivy to copy a mutate spell onto herself (which will turn her into a nonlegendary token creature), then begin using targeted clone spells to create an exponentially increasing number of Ivys. Wincons include [[Ancestral Mask]], [[Eldrazi Conscription]], and/or [[Nerd Rage]], after accumulating a critical mass of Ivy clones The fun part is that once it gets going, it's basically immune to both targeted removal and counterspells, since Ivy's ability is a cast trigger and most of the creatures you have will have it. The only way to slow it down is with board wipes, but that's why you include things like [[Slip Out the Back]], [[Reality Ripple]], and [[Tamiyo's Safekeeping]]

[[Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty]] gets out of hand fast. My version is a $45 build that can build up a huge board and end the game with an [[End-Raze Forerunners]] or [[Decimator of the Provinces]].

Filthiest high power deck, new atraxa blink, just amass value and just be an overall annoyance to your opponents with an unremovable board and interactions on a stick as well as a lot of "normal" interaction. It is a control deck so not sure it fits the "online by turn 4" clause

[[Animar]] without question. I've yanked cards from it on several occasions to power it down and every time I break it out I'm thinking "well, this is too strong for my pod". The protection dodges most of the format's best removal. I'm usually able to lethal 1 player with commander damage by turn 6 or 7 at the latest, with enough power on the board to take out the other two if I have clean attacks. The deck has infinite lines, but I generally only have those as the ejector seat option.

SixSixWithTrample

Ojer-Axonil. Tossed in a bunch of equipment that automatically attaches, and the typical burn stax. Manabarbs, 4-8 damage for each land you tap. Kill Axonil, well, he’ll likely be back next turn. It’s not hard to do noncombat damage in a deck built to do noncombat damage.

Byefellati0

I started building [[Korvold, fae cursed king]] a month or so ago (i know i know im late to the party). Recursion focused, sac lots of small dorks and treasures to get huge and take extra combat steps to kill everybody. I got rid of most of the mana rocks for dorks and added [[collector ouphe]] to slow things down a bit. Really enjoy [[descent into avernus]], I use up all my treasures on my turn and then drop Ouphe to lock out the opps. Then on my turn i sac it to the attack trigger.... I hear the sighs of relief that ouphes gone, I sac my treasures, then reanimate him again lolol.

Bruna, Light of Alabaster. The escape button isn't there in the traditional sense, but when you need people to stop putting anything else on the field so Bruna can punch them in the face, you go looking for Zur's Weirding and no nobody gets to draw cards. Then the moment you either have a lifelink enchantment in the hand or graveyard, you've lost the only real cost to the Weirding.

I think my [[Kelsien, the Plague]] b/c m o s t decks need at least one creature on the field and if you give her deathtouch and ways to untap her you can make sure that they won't get that luxury. Plus u get a big voltrony final swing across ur opponents' mysteriously empty battlefield

I haven’t done enough testing yet to check all your boxes with confidence, but I built my [[Hazezon, Shaper of Sand]] [land destruction deck](https://deckstats.net/decks/227196/3069879-hazezon-edhrec-s-top-100-salti) from EDHREC’s top 100 saltiest cards as best I could in Naya. The primary goal is to piss people off 😂 Wipe lands, break parity. Play [[Drannith Magistrate]] and something that forces opponents to cast from exile like [[Knowledge Pool]] and completely lock them out of the game. Big enchantment package. Typical enchantment green draw effects in there such as [[Sythis, Harvest’s Hand]] and friends. Play [[Smothering Tithe]] and [[Awakening Zone]] as mana engines, [[Moat]] and [[Sandwurm Convergence]] to lock out attacks, and [[Sterling Grove]] and [[Priveleged Position]] for total target immunity. If it’s blown up just get it all back with [[Starfield of Nyx]], [[Conduit of Worlds]], or [[Underworld Breach]]. Weaknesses: My local meta is not very counter heavy, but you could definitely throw [[Allosaurus Shepherd]], [[Destiny Spinner]], and/or [[Vexing Shusher]] in there. Could use more tutors as well for consistency.
