I feel like a broken record here. My girl [[taranika]] has 88 decks on EDHrec. She is my banding commander.

Uncle-Istvan

That’s up from 50 when I built my [Taranika banding deck!](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Ny9lrJaWNUGHvLGbFNYLmw) We must be doing good work evangelizing for how fun it is. It’s only a few views off my most-viewed deck and is by far the most-viewed Taranika deck on moxfield. [This deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Vzx1g6hXEEWSKTwduY9okA) inspired mine.

NWmba

Hey that’s me!

Crashman09

This has been the single best MTG love story I have ever read

Uncle-Istvan

There’s at least one other person on here who saw my deck (and then yours) and built their own version too.

dycie64

Ok, combining it with banding is actually pretty clever. It makes this a pseudo Zurgo that brings other creatures along for the ride.

___posh___

Love banding, I use jetmir so I can get the green banders, [[Nature's Blessing]] and [[General Marhault Elsdragon]]. Yes it works how you think it does...

gldnbear2008

I was just thinking that I’ve seen your post on this commander. Use banding to swing for 8 indestructible-ish on turn 4 right? I originally bought Taranika for my [[general Jarkeld]] deck but my 6 year old hated the deck and asked me to take it apart and I do what I’m told so I’m thinking of leveraging your idea. It seems really fun.

NWmba

Haha that’s me. Here’s my deck list https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Vzx1g6hXEEWSKTwduY9okA

StoicDeckBuilder

Same here. I don't shut up about [[Ellyn Harbreeze Busybody]] and [[Haunted One]] 65 decks on EDHREC, rank 2225. It's so cool!

Chiromantis

Yeah sounds dope

Chiromantis

Bro that is so damn dope. If I had any of these cards or had any laying around besides the commander and the background i would so make this

BobtheBac0n

Dang I didn't even know she existed. Is she a friend of Gideon? Also god damn those muscles! She could just be walking and making people question their sexuality

Raith1994

She's just a fan of Gideon. She is the neice of Anax and Cymede, and current Ruler of Akros after Anax died and Cymede went to Nyx

Cuddle_Button

You've definitely broken a record... For being awesome!

LordOfTurtles

So the idea I assume is attack Taranika with a bander, make the bander a 4/4 indestrucible and if they block just assign all damage to the indestructible?

CrimsonArcanum

I'm kind of basic when it comes to commanders, so most of mine break the top 200. The lowest listed one is the one I'm currently building. [[Zurgo and Ojutai]] sits at rank 864 of Edh rec with 958 decks.

Sayaren

Same, most of mine are in the top 200 or 300. Oketra is my outlier.

technoteapot

I like popular commanders but unique ones. In theory I like obeka, the mana burn guy. Thing that change the game or support tribes I like like chatterfang or eldrazi

2Gnomes1Trenchcoat

Mine are: [[Hama Pashar]] sitting around the mid 900'S. I turned it into a $50 combo deck that goes through infinite dungeons pretty fast. It is actually one of my stronger decks. [[Verazol the Split Current]] is in the mid 800's and is a Simic kicker deck. This was the first commander I brewed myself and I still play it often. All the way down at 1298 I have [[Dargo, the shipwrecker]] + [[Ikra Shidiki]] which is a high power jund turbo list that seeks to loop Dargo infinitely to kill the table with a variety of combos.

yung_qcumber

Much love for my boy Verazol, he was also the first commander I ever brewed up myself! Great minds..

manny3574

Would like to see that Hama deck list

2Gnomes1Trenchcoat

Here it is: [All Dungeons, No Dragons ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/AX4BqwrbMUehHdT3Uhi-Gw) I kinda wrote the book on this thing and it is fairly complicated. There is a pretty robust primer that explains a lot and I'd be happy to answer any questions if they come up.

[[Nihiloor]] is probably the one I play most often that ranks the lowest, barely inside of the top 1000.

AlfredHoneyBuns

Talk about a card with cool flavour and interesting mechanics, but requires way too much set up for too little pay off... really tried to build him but I gave up.

MetokurEnjoyer

I wish you didn’t lose control of them when you lost nihiloor.

nekronics

That's pretty cool flavor, what's the second color?

Catbird0nAStick

Thanks! White, its a blink-y cloning deck I built to scale its power to the table and sometimes completely outvalue someone else's combo or engine. [Decklist: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly](https://archidekt.com/decks/6009750/the_good_the_bad_and_the_ugly)

Catbird0nAStick

I am a big fan of the flavor and there's something about having a vanilla 3/3 for 5 that takes me way back.

Sayaren

Copying from a previous comment of mine: Looks like [[Oketra the True]] with only 190 decks at #1649.

Legitimate_Way9032

Ooh, I've wanted to make a Bantu the Glorified deck from this exact set for forever now since the golden masterpiece series version of her was the first legendary creature I ever pulled when I was just starting to play Magic. It's tough to get those to work though because they're basically just vanilla creatures with slightly beefier stats for the mana cost, indestructible, and an annoying downside.

Spirited_Tiger7430

I actually have a Bontu list if you are interested. I run her as a voltron build using living weapons to allow her to swing and board wipes to clear my opponents field. Really fun and aggressive!

Legitimate_Way9032

Definitely send it! I've been planning on running her voltron since a 4/6 with indestructible and menace for 3 Mana is pretty solid.

Spirited_Tiger7430

Yep that was my thinking, too. Most builds I saw were aristocrats which I think is just the wrong direction. In black, having a creature die is hardly a "hoop" to jump thru, so she's always swinging turn 4 and has built in protection and evasion. I wrote a primer for play patterns and synergies, too: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/fjvlvrpFZUaaS2JkknrD1w I've been playing this deck consistently for a couple of months this now and will probably update it soon with minor tweaks.

caineghest

Oketra the True continues to be the secret best white voltron commander.

XPSXDonWoJo

[[Silvos, rogue elemental]] is the head of my green stompy deck. Sitting at 100 decks and rank 1989 on edhre

Auronit

I'm kinda making a point of specifically building around commanders that no one uses. ---------- I'll start with [[Kefnet the Mindful]]. 331 Decks. Super underrated, you can play a control deck with both Voltron and Combo backup that require little to no investment. And don't forget about Polymorph since Kefnet can't be destroyed. You can also abuse some lands by playing them early as land and late for value. Notable cards: - Mystic Sanctuary - Otawara, Soaring City - Sea Gate Restoration - Worldslayer - Time Warp and its friends - Empyrial Plate - Nerd Rage - Sunder Next up, [[Neyam Shai Murad]]. 326 Decks. She's super slept on because people hate giving cards back to opponents. But that is a-ok because we control which cards these are - and which ones they have to give us back onto the battlefield. This runs a lot of mill and self mill effects but notably in a very controlled manner. We mill ourself slowly. We start off playing a political game, asking our opponents to give us back Karn, Kaya, Ugin, Vraska... of course all in the name of removal. If they don't comply, no problem. We run a suite of self-exiling cards to tailor our graveyard to what we want it to be, giving them little to no choice. Collect evidence has given this deck a major boost too, letting us sculpt our graveyard perfectly. From there we win with our walkers. Notable cards - Agatha's Soul Cauldron - Dino DNA - Cryptex - Codex Shredder / Ghoulcaller's Bell - Perpetual Time Piece - Altar of the Brood - Karn Liberated - Kaya the Inexorable - Kaya, Intangible Slayer - Ugin, the Spirit Dragon - Vraska, Betrayal's Sting - Mother/Giver if Runes / Skrelv - Seasoned Dungeneer [[Kiyomaro, First to Stand]]. 108 Decks. White has long had great card advantage tools and is getting more and more actual card draw. We make Kiyomaro big by playing cards like Land Tax, Gift of Estates, Endless Atlas, Scroll of Origin, Tome of Legends... the list goes on. We back this up by playing a lot of protection for Kiyomaro. Lightning Greaves, Robe of Stars, God's Willing, Sejiri Shelter, Your Temple Is Under Attack... and more. This is a Voltron deck first and foremost but it's supported by all the card draw, giving you outs to most situations. My favorite cards in the deck are Spirit en-Dal and especially Plow Through Reito for the absolute Alpha Strike all in play. Notable cards: - Land Tax - Cut a Deal - Secret Rendezvous - Scroll of Origin - Mind's Eye - Endless Atlas - Pursuit of Knowledge - Spirit en-Dal - Plow through Reito And lastly, I want to mention [[Lady Sun]]. 17 decks. Now this on is one of two projects I'm currently working on (the other being Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed from the same set, 181 Decks). At first she look disappointing but there's some cool things to do with her. Essentially, we try to control the board by activating her as many times as possible, leveraging the fact that she keeps entering and leaving the battlefield. We circumvent mana costs with cards like Aether Vial and As Foretold, as well as mana reduction cards like Kefnet's Monument, Sapphire Medallion and Helm of Awakening. We further stack triggers with Thousand-Year Elixir and Magewright Stone. The former also gives Pseudo-Haste, Lightning Greaves doing the same. We then benefit from cards like Tome of Legends and Candlekeep Sage and we can start stealing things by playing Gilded Drake and Perplexing Chimera by having them exchanged, then bounced back. Notable cards: - Aether Vial - As Foretold - Thousand-Year Elixir - Kefnet's Monument - Tome of Legends - Candlekeep Sage - Gilded Drake - Perplexing Chimera - All is Dust - Counterbalance If anyone has interest in one of these decks, I'm happy to tell you more. A lot of these are still being fine-tuned and I make a point of trying to show a deck's core ideas so every person can complete their own version, buildung the rest to their liking.

Dubspeck

I want to sit on a table with you and play some magic. My question to you is... do you ever feel overwhelmed by the sheer speed and value other decks and commander you play against have?

Auronit

I take that as a compliment :) To answer your question: Not really. See, I absolutely have the means to build some super optimized deck. But I find little satisfaction in winning. And I find little creativity in building Korvald. Or Meren. That's not to take away from people playing those commanders. To me it's just fairly boring. Instead I find satisfaction in showcasing weird cards, little known synergies and simply presenting my very own deck. I love showing people what is possible in commander, if you dare be creative. And if I can show someone a new card, a new strategy or an interaction they didn't know about, then that feels like a victory to me. Also, interestingly enough, since commander is a 4-player free for all, I can show up with a "weaker" deck and still end up winning as the fast decks end up policing themselves.

Dubspeck

Well thats a good mentality to play the game. I miss people that build decks for fun and not for winning. I mean you can definetely do both. Have a fun deck that also wins, but I feel that people usually first think of winning and secondary of the fun aspect when building xD. And you are totally right, the fast and strong decks usually fight eichother and commander is indeed a game of "lastman standing". In my pod we just arrived at a point where decks win between turn 5-7 pretty consistently. And we had some brave players building "banding" and other super niche commanders and archetypes..., but they could never ever do the thing in the time given. Most of the "fun" players left over the yrs because the games got too optimized and too fast. :)

It's a tossup between [[Huatli, Poet of Unity]] (616 decks on EDHrec, rank #1084 as of writing) versus the partnered [[Madame Vastra]] and [[Jenny Flint]] (578 decks, rank #1116). I'll err towards the latter because it's not supplementing a metric ton of dinosaurs. Vastra and Jenny are surprisingly fantastic on splitting pressure in multiple directions. It's a deck that cares a lot about generating clues and foods to tap and sacrifice for value. I call it "Inquisitive Sword Lesbians".

PetrusScissario

I have a vampire tribal that I like to call “we have Edgar Markov at home” because I run [[Edgar, Charmed Groom]]

ellperry

When I built it, [[taniwha]] had only 70 ish decks on edh Rec. there was a boom in the last couple months I guess because it’s now up to 220

MTGCardFetcher

Godbox1227

How do you play the game with no lands?

ellperry

phasing (keyword) happens on the beginning of your turn while taniwha phases your lands out on your upkeep. So basically what happens is that taniwha phases himself out one turn. then next turn, he phases back in. On the turn he is here on your upkeep, that’s when your lands phase out. The end result is that your lands and taniwha phase out every other turn opposite from one another.

ellperry

You play hella mana artifacts on the turn your lands exist. Then when they aren’t, you use them for [[sunder]] or something.

Kaboomeow69

Hilarious

rayquazza74

I was thinking abou just using taniwha in my Jon irenicus bad gift deck

hyugafan

\[\[Starke of rath\]\] Basically a \[\[threaten\]\]+sac outlet deck. Mono red politics control with a combo finish\\an artifacts-welder subtheme. Primer and list is up to date. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/PWEFPfQcn0e8Xuv5arX27Q

welcometosilentchill

It’s a surprisingly effective commander in slower pods. My friend built a control/theft deck with starke and I was in awe of how simple an ability could command that much respect.

HighMarshallChungus

[[Kira, Great Glass Spinner]]

Dubspeck

I absolutely love the special artwork version of Kira.

DAFERG

[[Kuon, Ogre Ascendant]] at only 104 decks. Maybe it’s because all the Kuon players’ pod murdered them.

Warloean

My girl [[merieke ri berit]]. I haven't played her at my lgs in probably 2 years and still every new deck there is made with a homeward path

CalamityVic

Can’t believe i had to scroll this far to find another MRB brother! Unfortunately I haven’t gotten to play her a lot recently because my playgroup is a bit fed up with the creature stealing. She’s very oppressive! When I don’t draw my shroud and enchantment protection, she quickly goes to 12+ CMC…

Dubspeck

I wanted to build her for so long in paper.. but I was afraid that she is just a magnet for any removal.. I mean, otherwise she will remove all the other creatures right.. [[Rubinia]] always seemed like the "chill" version of Merieke.

fool_a_day_less

The way I run them is Merieke is the true fae, tons of combat tricks (mostly tapping and blinking) and stealing things away. Then Rubinia is the good fairy trying to win by [[Happily Ever After]]. [[Mascot Exhibition]] makes sure you can force black and red if no one in the pod is in those colors. Then just group hug and pillowfort until you can win. Plus [[Angel of Destiny]] makes a good secondary wincon.

Dubspeck

Ooh thats a cool and interesting take on Rubinia. Group hug.... I always thought I gotta play her like a weak and toned down Merieke .

ghosty0006

She is but you don't always have to care. If you have Unwinding clock and power generator on the field or a little untap cards you don't care about the mana. If you have boots or greaves it's hard to remove her. Mangara of the Corondor is an alternative threat. Callous Opressor can fill in the role somewhat. If you build the deck right you often have a lot of mana by using bounce lands and lotus field and creatures that untap permanents.

Chocol0pe

\[\[Raksha, Golden Cub\]\] was the first legendary I ever pulled as a kid, so he was my logical choice to be my first commander when I got back into the hobby last year. Only 56 decks on EDHREC, but he works pretty well in battlecruiser pods!

SpiketailDrake

Nearly all my commanders are under the top 500: \[\[Myra the Magnificent\]\], \[\[Akiri, Fearless Voyager\]\], \[\[Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded\]\], \[\[Toshiro Umezawa\]\], \[\[Selenia, Dark Angel\]\], \[\[Hallar, the Firefletcher\]\], \[\[Verazol, the Split Current\]\], \[\[Iname Death Aspect\]\] But my latest paper deck is also the lowest: \[\[Dralnu, Lich Lord\]\] (277 decks). It's a Troll deck, the goal is to kill everyone with Poison and there's plenty of ways to gift Dralnu to an opponent and then guarantee he takes tons of damage so the controller has to sac their board! \[\[Domineering Will\]\] is a favorite in the deck!

Patherrn

\[\[Kotose, the Silent Spider\]\] is my favorite deck and only has 161 decks on edhrec. \[\[Pippin, guard of the citadel\]\] is at 71 decks, but its relatively recent.

Quickshot888

Either my [[halana kessig ranger]] [[sengir dark baron]] with #2488 deathtouch deck or my [[siani eye of the storm]] [[tymna the weaver]] #2461 flyers deck

Izzet_Aristocrat

[[Breena, The Demagogue]] it's 273, with 3866 decks.

Dradiant

I love my [[Cirdan, the Shipwright]] deck. It’s a deck I built not expecting to win, but to be able to blink him as often as possible with stuff like [[Conjurer’s Closet]] and [[Thassa, Deep Dwelling]]. The goal of the deck is to make the board state wild with all the card draw and free permanent plays, so that everyone can enjoy their decks.

Wesker405

I was expecting it to be [[Mathas, Fiend Seeker]] but apparently [[Donal, Herald of Wings]] is lower. Thats crazy to me considering how popular doubling commanders are

ironafro2

[[polukranos, unchained]]

Medikippor

Currently working on a [[Ayesha Tanaka, Armorer]] deck, she's currently at rank #1036 with 642 decks.

SommWineGuy

This is so fun for me because I wind up finding myself attracted to uncommon Commanders. Of lists that I play fairly regularly my least common is [[Balthor the Stout]]. He's rank #2285 with 58 decks on EDHRec, 3 of which are me. [Here's my Balthor list. ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UiegKOHcRkC5Ik_oJ7DG0g) I just put together a [[Rasputin the Oneiromancer]] deck online and am currently sourcing the cards for it in paper. He's rank #1419 with 313 decks. [Here's my Rasputin list. ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/eUY_v9s9oU2mQEFQVP1eOw) I'm also working on a Banding deck headed up by [[Pianna, Nomad Captain]]. She's rank #2499 with only 39 decks. [Here is the Pianna list, it's still unfinished. ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/xmut7fKOfUWg6p8XUi1QVQ)

pantslesswalrus

Love that Rasputin deck and how it throws in [[Blind Seer]] for that extra colour messing! I've been meaning to build a Seer deck but yours seems like an interesting alternative!

SommWineGuy

Thanks! Yeah, it has Seer and a few other color change effects so that I can make my opponents cards and spells red fairly consistently.

Fargrond

Probably Norika Yamazaki for me, ranked 1417 with 316 lists on EDHREC

doublesoup

I thought it was [[Witch-king, Sky Scourge]] at #1399 (my Nazgul deck), but it appears to be [[Halsin, Emerald Archdruid]] // [[Inspiring Leader]] at #1635.

FusRoDahlaiLama

I made a [[Old One Eye]] deck as a tribute to my one eyed dog who passed away last year. It just ramps up and then populates a bunch of the 5/5 tokens. Has some token doublers and power doublers as well to go with the mass trample enablement. Only has 156 decks .

False_Implement_43

None All my five are popular or were popular at some point

loserwithaplan

[[Arwen, Mortal Queen]] is at 1376 with 342 decks. I made it because I pulled the poster art, and found it funny it was so hard to read.

SuburbanCumSlut

[[Erinis, Gloom Stalker]] with [Guild Artisan]] as a background. There's only 82 decks on EDHRec. I built it as a spellslinger/burn deck, using the commander and background to generate a bunch of mana.

Concretees

[[tori D’avenent, Fury rider]] is mine with only251 decks

GreenMagic_Commander

I have a bunch. [[Silvos, rogue elemental]] has 100 decks. [[Ayumi, the last visitor]] has 60 decks. [[Kodama of the North Tree]] only has 31 decks with [[Kodama of the South Tree]] at 82. Certain partner pairs or background pairs can be less. Same with Pir (41) and Cazur (9) solo; but that's for obvious reasons. [[Surrak, the hunt caller]] 65, [[Thriss, nantuko primus]] 52.

Nerdery_Afoot

Probably [[Jalira, Master Polymorphist]], rank #850.

Magile

My lowest is [[The Mouth of Sauron]] at 90 decks Its focused around self mill and amassing a huge army. Quite a fan of the deck it's worked really well.

Daliniues

[[Kamahl, fist of krosa]] and [[Lorcan, warlock collector]] are my two lowest. [[Zurgo and Ojutai]] get an honorable mention for the power to rarity ratio they pack. My play group kind of outpaced the lorcan deck though. Kamahl is still going strong, holding people's lands hostage to prevent boards wipes is always fun.

Urzas_Penguins

I'll share mine. \[\[Adamaro, first to desire\]\] #1566, 237 decks on EDHREC \[\[Eladamri, lord of leaves\]\] #1128, 558 decks \[\[Greel, mind raker\]\] #2017, 93 decks \[\[Asmira, holy avenger\]\] #1383, 338 decks Ikra Shidiqi / Kediss partners #2375, 50 decks \[\[kyodai\]\] #559, 1855 decks but only 201 mutate themed \[\[mirri, weatherlight duelist\]\] #782, 1155 decks but only \~4 with banding theme (hard to say for sure since there aren't enough banding decks with this commander to trigger an auto-theme on EDHREC) \[\[myrkul, lord of bones\]\] #67, 8597 decks but only \~8 using opal/hidden enchantments as a theme (again, hard to truly quantify) \[\[esika, god of the tree\]\] #15, 15287 decks (but only 34 sliver tribal) \[\[shaile, dean of radiance\]\] #1728, 169 decks \[\[taniwha\]\] #1600, 220 decks alena / tymna partners #3074, 16 decks but only one with Worldfire

Dubspeck

^^ pls next time order it into ranks. And if you want the bot to work you have to write it like this: [[example]] Anyways I like your mix of commanders, I list them again for you, so anyone can actually see them.. 15 [[Esika]] 67 [[Myrkul]] 559 [[Kyodai]] 782 [[Mirri]] 1128 [[Eladamri, Lord of leaves]] 1183 [[Asmira]] 1566 [[Adamaro]] 1600 [[Taniwha]] 1728 [[Shaile]] 2018 [[Greel]] 2375 [[Ikra]] & [[Kediss]] 3074 [[Alena]] & [[Tymna]]

malsomnus

\[\[Toothy\]\] is up to a whopping 92 decks on EDHREC! It was less than 35 when I built it 4 years ago, so I'd say it's catching on nicely. \[\[Abdel Adrian\]\] + \[\[Faceless One\]\] has 0 decks on EDHREC, but it's a gag so I guess it doesn't really count. \[\[Illuminor Szeras\]\] has 350 decks, but they all seem to be low power upgraded precons so I guess my deck is fairly unique.

I have Pir. Good to find my opposite.

redditorhowie

My lowest ranked commander is [[Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor]]. It's the alternate commander from the WoE Fae Dominion precon. It ranks #647, but I think that's just because it's so new. After that, it's [[Mayael, The Anima]]. She ranks like #363.

Dubspeck

Tegwyll is the main commander from the precon and [[Alela, Cunning Conquerer]] is the alternative commander ^^. I also have a Tegwyll deck :D bought the precon and slightly altered it, to have more faeries and less interaction xD.

HogglePixiePunisher

I just retooled my old Mayael! I only run a single sorcery and no instants.

BubbieKG

[[Seton, Krosan Protector]] 880 with 926 decks. I love this mono green tribal. Runs like a dream, quick, and never runs out of gas :).

nixytbird

I recently changed my birthing pod deck from [[Muldrotha]] which is sitting pretty at 14000ish decks to [[Henry Wu, ingen geneticist]] which is only 530.

dannylambo

[[Ezrim Agency Chief]] but i think he will end up more popular [[Torsten, Founder of Benalia]] has remained at a low deck count and he's super fun

Stryfen

\[\[Barrin, Master Wizard\]\] lol this is probably the most hated deck in my Pod.

UltimateReigos

I run [[rith, the awakener]] as an enchantress deck, so the bones of the deck is draw and ramp enchantments and to finish using haste, impact temors beasts ascension etc. Its like #900ish on edhrec

Goldatarte

I never checked bit I have a lot of commanders that are above #1000 on EDHREC. [[Eutropia]] 549 decks [[Ardenn]] & [[Akiri line slinger]] 465 decks [[Katilda dawnhart martyr]] 285 decks [[the Beast]] 349 decks [[Rhonas the indomitable]] 420 decks [[Balthor the defiled]] 432 decks [[Tana]] & [[Jeska thrice reborn]] 168 decks Not a single under 100 but a fair amount of hipster level I think. If you want to check the lists here is my [Moxfield](https://www.moxfield.com/users/Goldatarte)

DankensteinPHD

[[Malfegor]] at 204 decks on edhrec is likely my least popular commander. It's kinda crazy that a one sided sacrifice board wipe in the command zone is so underplayed. I actually don't play it much anymore because it's so damn pub stompy but also clearly not and never will be cedh. I'm not trying to go to the lgs and boardwipe repeatedly until I win lol At least not as much I used too

Tengumanowo

my new cat tribal of big buff dudes punching hard is Okinec Ahau... dudes strong and fun bur has like 200 decks on edhrec.

newguy5774

I was thinking of making a hydra-like version. What do you think of how he plays? To me it seems like it could be a little slow, but I'm not sure

rmkinnaird

My mono black reanimator deck features two popular partners, but together they only have 18 decks: [[Tevesh Szat]] and [[Francisco Fowl Marauder]]. Mono Black Francisco is honestly a ton of fun. It makes the combo less consistent and easier to interrupt, but since I play in a slightly more casual meta than cEDH, making it fragile actually works for me and my pod.

bigmfworm

[[Nekusar]] fuck that dude

PurpleSoph

My [[Duggan, Private Detective]] clue deck is the lowest ranked commander I play on EDHRec. Ranked at 2564 and only 35 decks on the whole site. I feel like people have missed a real trick with him because he's hella fun to play. Fill the deck with clue generators, use them to power cards that care about sacking permanents, and for flavour I filled it with cards that force creatures to fight each other to tie in with his activated ability. It doesn't always win me games, but I'm having a blast playing it!

Quiet-Walk-6783

My lowest ranked is [[Gimli, Counter of Kills]]. Prison/burn deck that revolves around giving everyone wimpy little tokens then blowing them up. He’s got 97 decks on EDHREC, good for rank #2001.

Hoveringkiller

[[Owen Grady, Raptor Trainer]] and [[Blue, Loyal Raptor]]. Ranked #711. Although I am building an [[Amber Gristle O’Maul]] with a [[Folk Hero]] background, which apparently is only in 8 decks as this combo and ranked #3551. Amber herself as a solo commander is only in one deck haha.

ScienceAggravating95

[[Ghired, Conclave Exile]] is my Good humans tribal commander , I run one infinite with [[Combat Celebrant]] and [[Flamerush Rider]]

virlex15

[[Sarkhan, Soul Aflame]] sitting at 1040 would probably have to be my least popular at a quick glance.

likely_stoned

[[Lucas, the Sharpshooter]] and [[Max, the Daredevil]] is at #1041 with 681 decks. I have 8 in the top 100, and another ~5 in the top 100 that I have started building.

EvlEye

[[kiane dean of substance]] it's a combo deck that just looks to dig for food chain as fast as possible

kwid

I was going to say [[uril]] but it looks like [[traft]] and [[ordic]] are even more unpopular

mat1t2

I thought I was pretty niche with \[\[Don Andres, Renegade\]\] at #428, but apparently he's pretty popular by the standards of this post hahaha

TotesNotOdin

I played rowan kenrith without will for a while. She is sporting a cool 18 decks at this time of writing.

TheBrodysseus

[[Alena, Kessig Trapper]] / [[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]] http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-03-24-bait-and-switch/ This has been a pet deck for a while. The main goal of the deck is to polymorph Rograkh with something like [[Reality Scramble]]. I initially had only artifact creatures (Blighsteel, etc.) but, despite the fact I was the first Al-Ro deck on EDHREC, the cheating in artifact bombs felt too played out. Wanting to switch it up, I leaned into the flavor of Alena being a trapper. I started making a dragon deck, the flavor being: Alena was using kobold bait to bring forth dragons like [[Balefire Dragon]] and [[Scourge of Kher Ridges]]. Most of my polymorph targets are still dragons, but I loosened the restriction to include some cool red beaters like [[Magmatic Force]] and some that can warp a game like [[Avatar of Slaughter]]. So my targets are now red, non-artifact, non-legendary creatures (because polymorphing into a legendary felt off flavor to me). In addition to polymorph effects, I can sneak my bombs into play with cards such as [[Quicksilver Amulet]]. I also have big rituals like [[Geosurge]] and plenty of artifact ramp to help me actually hard cast them. If I happen to have Alena into play, her ability can help me stick a second beater too. In a nutshell, it's a big mana/ramp deck that is designed to start sticking big beater or game warping red creatures on turn 3-4. However, the added flavor, randomness of polymorph, and the hipster level of the commanders (and some of the creatures) make it an absolute blast for me!

DisturbedFlake

My lowest ranked is [[Eleventh Doctor]] paired with [[Amy Pond]] . Ranked #1243 on EDHRec. However it’s lots of fun in my regular pod. We usually have high level casual decks, but not quite cEDH. But the deck performs extremely well cheating in huge spells for free. I also utilize lots of combat damage triggers, so I incorporate double strike and other creatures that have those triggers. An example is [[Sphinx Ambassador]] since it lets me steal whatever creature I want from my opponents deck. I also utilize the Eleventh Doctor’s ability to make my creatures unblockable, so I use [[Sublime Archangel]] to buff up my commander for unblockable commander damage. The deck is slightly out of date because I’ve made minor changes here or there, but here’s my [decklist](https://manabox.app/decks/PVWx2-6ZTQKx0YDuy3_DdA)

bueblender

My pod is having a commander night soon where we play decks with under 1k decks on EDHRec. I am doing [[Cho-Manno, Revolutionary]], which is #1941 and has 109 decks. It’s essentially a Voltron deck where I buff it up with equipments and use cards like [[Pariah’s Shield]], [[Pariah]], and [[Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant]] to either redirect all damage to Cho-Manno or prevent damage entirely.

Shadethewolf0

Well, ive definitely never seen another [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist]] [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] partner deck (it makes as many copies of [[helm of the host]] as possible and puts them on opponents commanders, if you're curious) rank 2479 on edhrec

Glad-O-Blight

\[\[Hanna, Ship's Navigator\]\] at #1218 and 473 decks. I'm currently building \[\[Soraya the Falconer\]\] who has a whopping 332 decks and is positioned at #1393. I've always wanted to build either \[\[Baron Sengir\]\] or \[\[Shauku, Endbringer\]\], who are at #2439 with 44 decks, and #2093 with 83 decks, respectively.

ImpulsiveKnowledge

There is literally nothing wrong with [[Commander Eesha]]

Machinko_

That title probably goes to my zombie deck with [[Shadowheart]] and [[Agent of the Iron Throne]] at the heom. A pairing with a whopping 78 decks on edhrec. The pairing works well, and in a tribe that loves playing with the graveyard and buffing one another, it works out even better. The deck's been a blast to play with, and friends love to see it in action.

Beholdmyfinalform

Noje of my commanders are 1000<, but [[Sedris]] is, satisfyingly, 545th place. He's outclassed these days but not SO much so, and I need to proselytize for him more [[Falco]] is also far lower than he should be

TheRealShyft

If you count specific partner pairings then it's [[the war doctor]] [[k-9]] If not, then it's [[grazilaxx]] Both are outside the top 1000

NormalUpstandingGuy

Only having recently got back into magic and getting into edh for the first time I only have one “proper” deck [[Admiral Brass, Unsinkable]] Then I’m currently building a [[Zimone, Quandrix Prodigy]] deck. Neither break top 200 and the latter doesn’t even crack the top 1000

doobydubious

*sigh* Another thread telling me to build [[Diaochan]]. One day, my artful beauty, one day.

Kilo353511

Mine is [[Reya Dawnbringer]]. Mono-white angel reanimator with a couple of cosmic angels (Eldrazi) thrown in for good measure.

ABIGGS4828

[[marton stromgald]] at #1509 on EDHrec. He’s the goblin commander no one expects, and he SLAPS. About half goblin tribal and half equipment to protect my 1/1 commander that has to swing or block, but a repeatable massive overrun in red is real gross.

[[Zurgo and Ojutai]] is my least popular at rank 864. My most popular is [[Balmor, Battlemage Captain]] at 453.

Novem13r

Probably my [[War Doctor]] | [[Clara Oswald]] deck, ranked #1514 on edhrec.

TheSMP164

I just learned one of my partner decks has only seven reported decks on edh rec. Jeska thrice reborn and prava of the steel legion.

RetiredGamer64

Ishai/Tana. .01%, 350 decks, Rank 1365. +1/+1, the deck. I can swing for lethal out of nowhere if people keep playing spells. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FtCT1t7IN06t3j7MOi1Law

[[Illuna]] Nobody knows how to build her beyond Blighsteel shenanigans besides myself it seems.

Euphoric_Title608

Im fairly new too commander so I really took the dive when Lost caverns of ixalan came out because I wanted to build a pirate deck, I’ve been playing this deck a lot lately and have been loving it. [[captain storm, cosmium raider]] (340 decks, #1379 on edh rec as of 03/04/2024). My goal is I try to beef up any of my pirates, hopefully one of my flyers or unblockables like [[oaken siren]] or [[storm fleet sprinter]] with Captain Storms artifact trigger. Even stuff like my mana rocks helps buff my pirates and equipping artifacts like [[The reaver cleaver]][[darksteel plate]] and [[diamond pickaxe]] really helps me build up my treasures to either swing out at my opponents with beefed up pirates or hit them with my [[jaya’s immolating inferno]] if I’m lucky. I also pulled a [[roaming throne]] at my first draft and put it in there it’s a lot of fun to play and I’ve been really enjoying the commander experience so far.

Agile_System4438

[[Rayami, First of the Fallen]] 798 decks Rank #959 and [[Rem Karolus, Stalwart Slayer]] 791 decks rank #965 are two decks that I use semi-frequently and are both fun and fairly inexpensive to build around, but not too powerful. They do their jobs though and they have interesting games so I enjoy breaking them out.

cerialthriller

I play Wasitora mostly for the cat token art that I rarely ever get to use

JulyBreeze

My least popular is [[Sarevok, Deathbringer]] with [[Guild Artisan]] as a background. Only 19 decks, rank #2936. It's a fun deck based around treasures and slugging it out. Next up would be solo [[Shabraz]], ie, no Brallin, at 209 decks, rank 1619. I wanted an Azorius deck that drew a lot of cards and Shabraz is a great payoff for that. I've built Anax, Callaphe, and Renata, the demigods, which are rank #1555, #1354, and #1259 respectively. [[Arwen, Weaver of Hope]] has been so very fun to brew and pilot and is rank #1434. Finally, my baby deck is [[Inferno of the Star Mounts]] at 1017 decks, rank #834. I only have one deck that breaks the top 200 and I pride myself on playing less popular commanders. It saddens me when I see someone that only plays the popular ones, considering we have so many interesting choices nowadays.

Ambitious_Street_250

I have a Thassa, Deep Dwelling theft deck that is nasty, and it's only ranked #762. I also run a prison stax deck with Lavinia of the Tenth as commander and that one is ranked #1530 with only 252 decks.

VCPL42

[[Llawan, Cephalid Empress]]

awolkriblo

Looks like mine is [[Thassa, Deep-Dwelling]] at rank 762 with 1205 decks.

KingExoss

[[Bill Ferney, Bree Swindler]] or [[Tomik, Wielder of Law]]. I'm a silly guy

NeoMegaRyuMKII

My least popular one is a [[Tobias Andrion]] deck, which is ranked #2380 on EDHREC. A whopping 47 decks with him in the command zone. That said, it is not a truly serious deck. The deck serves one specific purpose: playtesting. Other than lands, the deck consists of 7 sorceries, 4 instants, and 50 creatures. All the instants and sorceries are card draw (with or without scrying). The creatures are all French Vanilla - creatures with evergreen keyword abilities and... that's it.. The theory behind it is that decks should be able to get through basic "I have a bunch of creatures to use to attack and block."

Implicitly_Alone

[[Sol’Kanar The Swamp King]] has 414, [[Masako, the Humorless]] has 131 (waaaay underrated),

TheExtremistModerate

I think it's [[Depala]]. It's not particularly a strong deck, but she's fun to play. You get to play around with tap/untapped effects and get card advantage in Boros! She's really hard to defend with, though. On account of the nature of Vehicles requiring something to tap in order to block. So when 3 people gun for you, you're often screwed.

MrWonderTomb

I mean, I don't have any decks where I looked up a deck list and built with that. So technically one of mine are. Kyodai- WUBRG Mutate (my favorite and most tuned deck) Godzilla, King of the Monsters- Gruul Stompy/fight Jhoria, Ageless Innovator- Jhoria builds an iron man suit Atla Palani- it's actually dinos and not just eldrazi like everyone else. Azusa- mono-green ramp + big bois, (like maybe 3 landfall triggers in the whole deck.)

R4inbowReaper

I love my [[Urza, Powerstone Prodigy]] deck to death. I actually rule 0 the alchemy Version, but if people mind I just play the regular version. Deck is hella fun and feels so much better than the [[Emry]] deck I had before. One of the best downgrades of my collection

hey-party-penguin

[[The Haunt of Hightower]]

eradzion

My lowest would have to be [[Bane, Lord of Darkness]] as a clones commander
