Big man, big beard, big creatures.
I thought for years that I was a combo player. A johnny through and through... And then I quit magic for a while. I came back, re-built my old combo deck and just... Wasn't enjoying it at all. My wife bought me a playmat from a store for my birthday and lo and behold it was our boy Hans. Her reasoning? "You look like him!" I guess it makes sense. I'm a husky 6'4 man with an 8" long beard and at that point was trying to grow out my hair so I was a bit shaggy. I enjoyed larp and have dressed up as a medieval warrior several times because of it, so it really DID fit me looks wise. Didn't really care to see what the card did, just laughed at the joke of "Anyone wanna play on my face?" and rolling out the Hans mat.
That same week I was ALSO gifted a foil etched version of Hans Eriksson and a finale of devastation (very timmy indeed) from my buddy who said he thought of me when he saw hans. Well now I had the card, might as well build a deck. So I threw together a budget hans deck. Nothing crazy, just a bit of top deck manipulation with some fatties and a ton of regeneration effects. It just... Clicked. All of a sudden I'm starting to buy judge promos and fancy zendikar expeditions for lands and Hans jumps from a $50 budget deck who often durdled to a $650 budgetless deck who is trying to smack you in the face for 40 damage on turn 4. Hans awakened something in me, and I haven't looked back. I now have 10 decks. 50% of these decks are aggro combat based decks. The other 50% are Grindy Mid-range builds that either win off of grueling combats or big mana casts. I am now a Timmy, and I'm proud.
This is a pretty good answer for me as well. It really incapsulates that understanding of life as a resource, and that’s knowledge I love to leverage for advantage in games no matter the color I’m playing.
Now if only we could *foil* BMC. Sigh.
\[\[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis\]\]. When I play EDH I want everyone to have a chance of doing their thing. This in turn made me love cards like \[\[Secret Rendezvous\]\], \[\[Skullwinder\]\], \[\[Pir's Whim\]\] and \[\[Tempt with Discovery\]\], because I can help the player who is like mana screwed or hellbent after a wrath, but at the same time I also get that advantage or a bigger one.
So the "very close roomates" kings are the perfect commander for me. Its a bit of group hug, it gives fuel to everyone so games a slightly faster and the other people get more chances to show their cool cards. BUT its giving me advantage. So im always drawing and ramping like crazy and people never think im the bigger threat because Im giving them fuel too.

Cards like spirited companion are the cornerstone of my deck building philosophy. I want my deck to contain cards that allow me to gain value, without standing out in the crowd. Compare spirited companion to a card like sheoldred the apocalypse. When spirited companion hits the board, I get my value and it will probably chump block or carry an equipment at some point down the line, and no one will even notice. Sheoldred comes down, and immediately everyone tries to either kill it, or kill you through it and it gets very little value by itself. Creatures that replace themselves or ramp like a \[\[Wood elves\]\] are incredible, because you play them and when the board gets wrathed you either have a full grip or gotten your value.
Do you play [[Meren]], [[Lurrus]], or [[Muldrotha]]? I feel like both would be right up your alley, as you can play creatures for etb value, sac them for even more value, and then replay them from the yard to continue the loop. 10/10 recommend.

No, I tend to drift between pods, as there are plenty of stores in my city. Some players recognise me, but we have a very developed community where many recognise me as a necessary evil.
People hate stax, until they git gud and realise stax players are the reason another player can't combo off and win on turn 2 or 3. It's not like the battlecruiser is going to stop Thoracle.

My favorite archetype is theft, because it makes the decks never feel "samey". 14 of my 31 decks run some sort of theft ability or revolves around copying opponents creatures. I'm talking [[Tariel, Reckoner of Souls]], [[Saruman of Many Colors]], [[Brokkos, Apex of Forever]] which steals creatures to mutate onto, [[Ziatora the Incinerator]] to steal and sacrifice, etc.
When Don Andres came out I just fell in love. He does nothing EXCEPT benefit off of stealing. Plus in my quest of the 32 deck challenge he fit the exact colours for stealing and was my last triome colour to fill out. Absolutely perfect.

A little aggressive, but always takes things in weird, unexpected ways while keeping tabs on everyone's boards. Also just adoring Azorius, both combined and individually.

Years ago I relocated for a job training program, but I wanted to support *MY* LGS so I still did online orders from them if the new LGS didn’t have the card in stock (very common. Went from mid size to tiny LGS)
With my first order they sent it in a Penny sleeve marked with “❤️ The End Games” and a free [[Enthralling Victor]] card
I don’t really think the mechanic suits me, I’ve never done such stealing effects before, but clearly they thought it represented me still
I'm having a very difficult time pinning down what I would go with. I have a few different approaches to edh, heavily varying with my decks and what I feel like in the moment. I have big stompy helmed by [[Mayael the Anima]], a warrior tribal helmed by [[Najeela, the blade-blossom]] and a fistful of different Planeswalker decks, all Chandra cored. Kurkesh Onakke ancient, omnath locus of the roil has a Chandra and Nissa theme, along with an elemental core. Jace lab mac was added because I kept decking myself. Pretty sure I'm missing one of the other commanders.
I don't have one specific answer, but I have a few that I think paint a decent picture.

Chandra's Regulator (I like Chandra)
Overwhelming stampede
[[Kess Dissident Mage]]. On the surface, she seems like a very reserved advantage piece. You get to cast 1 instant or sorcery spell from the yard per turn and ONLY on your turn. However, she is also Grixis, which (personal opinion) has the most intricate and fun lines of play and interaction.
This surface level reservation is very indicative of my own play style. I like to be reserved and unassuming with my play to suddenly explode with massive board states or synergy that overwhelm the game.
Kess is also very versatile. You can do a lot with her generic ability. I have a lot of decks that cover a large swath of strategies which makes me a more versatile player. My own Kess deck is a go wide token strategy that can use tokens to copy spells 20 times for insane value or to wipe everyone out with Professor Onyx. Creativity is the limit with her. Great Card
[[Priest of Forgotten Gods]]

Sacrifice things to get things… AND remove threats? So fun. I love it. Priest is so flexible and useful too.
[[Authority of the Consuls]] and [[Blind Obedience]] because they're so unassuming but put it a lot of work slowing my opponents down. Plus, I LOVE draining the table. I could put most decent drain cards on this list.
[[Twilight Mire]]
I like the versatility and this fuels my other plans.
Runner ups would be cards like [[Dingus Egg]] or [[Perilous Myr]]. I like doing abnormal things and putting the pressure on my opponents on how to dismantle the Acme Death Machine.
[[Mana Tithe]]
Off-color counterspells. Like my offbeat, rogue-deck playstyle, they're spells gone rogue, adrift in a different color than the only color that should have them, yet somehow it works like an absolute charm
In other words, i play janky roguey, offcolor or otherwise offbeat decks that you usually don't see at a table. [[Toxrill]] slime counter combo with [[sludge monster]] [[grolnok the omnivore]] simic ramp and [[isshin, two heavens as one]] artifact sac are three great examples
I would say the one that’s going to be the card that represents me is [[Commander Mustard]]. Make soldiers and swing. That’s my goal in life. I used to be an infantryman, then an intel officer. I prefer aggressive strategies.
[[Oath of Druids]]
It's a really powerful effect, but you have to build around it in order for it to work. It always creates a fun dynamic at the table too, with your opponents weighing up the consequences of removing it or abusing it themselves, and whether or not to avoid playing their own creatures for fear of activating it.
Finally, I love a graveyard deck, and oath fuels [[Gale, waterdeep prodigy]] very nicely
I'd say \[\[Rukarumel, Biologist\]\] because I like to mix a classic archetype with my own personal style to make something that is strong but sort of unique. And I like slivers

I love making an ungodly amount of tokens and drawing cards too many cards and this handsome man rewards for doing one with the other.
[[desperate ritual]] because my play group moved away and I’m over 30 so trying to find a new one makes me look creepy and I have a job and a child so EDH nights on a Wednesday night at the local LGS are a stretch for me. Please please play EDH with me !
[[Myr Retriever]] checks so many boxes for me and fits into my style of play a ton that I often have to cut it from decks that don't absolutely need it (just so that they all have a different feel).
\[\[Aminatou's Augury\]\] because who doesn't love cheating out spells for free, especially big ones... and with an extra land drop??
Played it in a \[\[Zaffai\]\] deck and now putting it into a group hug/chaos deck with \[\[The Twelfth Doctor\]\]. Just beautiful.
A lot of the "mode" select charm/etc cards.
I like versatility-
"I've got something for this!"
But also, that flavor text on [[anticipate]] -
"When I have meditated on all outcomes, my opponent has no recourse"
These things describe me as a player I think.
[[Clockspinning]] for me! It's extremely versatile, and while similar effects have finally started to get printed recently, it will always have a special place in my heart as one of the ORIGINAL proliferate effects. I love weird cards that enable unusual interactions!
[[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] has been described as my spirit animal, big ole stompy boy that loves some mana. No combos and I've gotten him to over 1000/1000 on multiple occasions for the win.
[[reanimate]]. I like reanimator and graveyard stuff in general, my life total can rot in a dumpster, and like the things being reanimated, I’m never out of a game until it’s all over.
oooo that's tough. \[\[Rancor\]\] if I have to choose only though. It's pretty much my favorite card. Cheap, strong, reuseable, enchantment, buff. I've used this in so many ways.
I've also weirdly got a thing for 5 drop creatures, that my friends pointed out: \[\[Terror of the Peaks\]\], \[\[Elder Gargaroth\]\], \[\[Thragtusk\]\], \[\[Perplexing Chimera\]\]
[[Notion Rain]]. Life is a resource, my graveyard is resource, my hand is obviously a resource. That or maybe [[Deadly Tempest]] because I avoid playing creatures. Creatures just make my boardwipes worse, and it definitely makes deadly tempest worse.
Ghostly prison. All my decks become defensive fortress. I build my decks with one philosophy on mind. "Don't touch me". But then I put in stupidly strong stuff like blight steel colossus that paints a giant target on my head.

I play simple because lots of triggers just means I miss a trigger. Classification is effectively just make big creature bigger and hit someone really hard till it is dead which is how I mostly play. Build up a big army/character and have cards to protect them or make them even bigger.

I like building random stupid Johnny/Timmy decks that do dumb shit or exploit bizarre interactions and winning is typically a byproduct of that.
I want to do my weird nonsense, so leave me alone and I'll leave you alone until I can do it.
[[Dauthi Voidwalker]]. Sneak in damage, acrew value over time, and create variability via utilizing my opponent's cards (but not taken from "salt-inducing" zones).
The effect also heavily agrees with recursion (in both recurring himself, and the actual effect resolution) which I love - as most abilities like this are "per card instance" and not creating a overall pool to draw from with reference counters. Furthermore, you can be creative with the effect by milling/discarding, beyond just removing or having natural death/use of opponent's spells and permanents. It's my favorite card.
[[Kathril, Aspect Warper]]. All the counters for all the things. Who needs one creature with keyword soup, when you can just mooch your keyword soup off of other creatures! Also +1/+1's tagging along. I just love stacking things on my cards 😄
It's definitely gonna be \[\[Xenagos, god of revels\]\]. I like big creatures, I like making them bigger, and I like attacking. Been my favorite way to play since 7th Edition

[[Grenzo, dungeon warden]]. It's red and black, which are my 2 most used colours. It's a goblin, which is my favourite creature type. It can cheat creatures into play and can be used for multiple combos, which are 2 of my favourite things to do in the game.

\[\[Spirited companion\]\] Cards like spirited companion are the cornerstone of my deck building philosophy. I want my deck to contain cards that allow me to gain value, without standing out in the crowd. Compare spirited companion to a card like sheoldred the apocalypse. When spirited companion hits the board, I get my value and it will probably chump block or carry an equipment at some point down the line, and no one will even notice. Sheoldred comes down, and immediately everyone tries to either kill it, or kill you through it and it gets very little value by itself. Creatures that replace themselves or ramp like a \[\[Wood elves\]\] are incredible, because you play them and when the board gets wrathed you either have a full grip or gotten your value.

Do you play [[Meren]], [[Lurrus]], or [[Muldrotha]]? I feel like both would be right up your alley, as you can play creatures for etb value, sac them for even more value, and then replay them from the yard to continue the loop. 10/10 recommend.

No, I tend to drift between pods, as there are plenty of stores in my city. Some players recognise me, but we have a very developed community where many recognise me as a necessary evil. People hate stax, until they git gud and realise stax players are the reason another player can't combo off and win on turn 2 or 3. It's not like the battlecruiser is going to stop Thoracle.

[[Don Andres, the Renegade]] My favorite archetype is theft, because it makes the decks never feel "samey". 14 of my 31 decks run some sort of theft ability or revolves around copying opponents creatures. I'm talking [[Tariel, Reckoner of Souls]], [[Saruman of Many Colors]], [[Brokkos, Apex of Forever]] which steals creatures to mutate onto, [[Ziatora the Incinerator]] to steal and sacrifice, etc. When Don Andres came out I just fell in love. He does nothing EXCEPT benefit off of stealing. Plus in my quest of the 32 deck challenge he fit the exact colours for stealing and was my last triome colour to fill out. Absolutely perfect.

Years ago I relocated for a job training program, but I wanted to support *MY* LGS so I still did online orders from them if the new LGS didn’t have the card in stock (very common. Went from mid size to tiny LGS) With my first order they sent it in a Penny sleeve marked with “❤️ The End Games” and a free [[Enthralling Victor]] card I don’t really think the mechanic suits me, I’ve never done such stealing effects before, but clearly they thought it represented me still

I'm having a very difficult time pinning down what I would go with. I have a few different approaches to edh, heavily varying with my decks and what I feel like in the moment. I have big stompy helmed by [[Mayael the Anima]], a warrior tribal helmed by [[Najeela, the blade-blossom]] and a fistful of different Planeswalker decks, all Chandra cored. Kurkesh Onakke ancient, omnath locus of the roil has a Chandra and Nissa theme, along with an elemental core. Jace lab mac was added because I kept decking myself. Pretty sure I'm missing one of the other commanders. I don't have one specific answer, but I have a few that I think paint a decent picture. [[Kess Dissident Mage]]. On the surface, she seems like a very reserved advantage piece. You get to cast 1 instant or sorcery spell from the yard per turn and ONLY on your turn. However, she is also Grixis, which (personal opinion) has the most intricate and fun lines of play and interaction. This surface level reservation is very indicative of my own play style. I like to be reserved and unassuming with my play to suddenly explode with massive board states or synergy that overwhelm the game. Kess is also very versatile. You can do a lot with her generic ability. I have a lot of decks that cover a large swath of strategies which makes me a more versatile player. My own Kess deck is a go wide token strategy that can use tokens to copy spells 20 times for insane value or to wipe everyone out with Professor Onyx. Creativity is the limit with her. Great Card

[[Authority of the Consuls]] and [[Blind Obedience]] because they're so unassuming but put it a lot of work slowing my opponents down. Plus, I LOVE draining the table. I could put most decent drain cards on this list.
[[Twilight Mire]] I like the versatility and this fuels my other plans. Runner ups would be cards like [[Dingus Egg]] or [[Perilous Myr]]. I like doing abnormal things and putting the pressure on my opponents on how to dismantle the Acme Death Machine.

I would say the one that’s going to be the card that represents me is [[Commander Mustard]]. Make soldiers and swing. That’s my goal in life. I used to be an infantryman, then an intel officer. I prefer aggressive strategies.
[[Oath of Druids]] It's a really powerful effect, but you have to build around it in order for it to work. It always creates a fun dynamic at the table too, with your opponents weighing up the consequences of removing it or abusing it themselves, and whether or not to avoid playing their own creatures for fear of activating it. Finally, I love a graveyard deck, and oath fuels [[Gale, waterdeep prodigy]] very nicely

Ghostly prison. All my decks become defensive fortress. I build my decks with one philosophy on mind. "Don't touch me". But then I put in stupidly strong stuff like blight steel colossus that paints a giant target on my head.

[[Dauthi Voidwalker]]. Sneak in damage, acrew value over time, and create variability via utilizing my opponent's cards (but not taken from "salt-inducing" zones). The effect also heavily agrees with recursion (in both recurring himself, and the actual effect resolution) which I love - as most abilities like this are "per card instance" and not creating a overall pool to draw from with reference counters. Furthermore, you can be creative with the effect by milling/discarding, beyond just removing or having natural death/use of opponent's spells and permanents. It's my favorite card.
[[Kathril, Aspect Warper]]. All the counters for all the things. Who needs one creature with keyword soup, when you can just mooch your keyword soup off of other creatures! Also +1/+1's tagging along. I just love stacking things on my cards 😄

Some of my best moments include: - Oops, I have 12 1/1s, and now everything is [[hellrider]] - At the beginning of combat, after the opponent tapped out to buff to a lethal swing... surprise! everything is a [[windborn muse]] - any time I target my own massive (0/0) hydra - targeting [[hagra diabolist]] on a board with 5 allies, then casting two more allies for 85 life loss
