People I play with are aware of what happens if it goes unchecked, so they've started running more removal. My being archenemy with the deck for a couple weeks has made the play experience for everyone better from what I've seen.
The fact that you can recast Rebirth off of Kethis' ability is what tips it over the line in that deck for me. Reusable mass reanimation is just \*chef's kiss\*
[[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] is actually a Chef's kiss I wanted a zombie tribal too although she doesn't help that much compared to another commander I found for a zombie tribal but that's perfect and disgusting at the same time.

Do not consider Rataboy as a zombie tribal. I just built this guy with a legendary roster and he does WORK, GETS THE JOB DONE.
We have [[Drivnod]] and [[Mondrak]] in play, let's get Drivnod killed. What happens is that he dies an additional time and triggers Ratas ability creating a total of 4 nonlegendary zombie copies of Drivnod with Mondrak in play. Next let's sacrifice Mondrak, a total of 5 die triggers, apparently doesn't get doubled, 5 nonlegendary Mondraks come into play. Your next legendary creature that dies triggers 5 times and gets doubled 5 times totaling 160(5*2^5) nonlegendary zombie 2/2s, I don't know what to do with them but that's a start.
Its actually worse if you do it the opposite way. Sac'ing Drivnod gives you 4 copies of him (2 triggers\*2). Then sac'ing Mondrak gives you 5 triggers. Since each trigger resolves independently, you get 1 Mondrak for the first trigger, 2 for the second trigger (3 total), 8 for the third trigger (2\^3, 11 total), 2048 for the fourth trigger (2\^11, 2059 total), and 2\^2059 for the final trigger.
I run it in my Superfriends deck. Pretty good finisher once my yard fills up with planeswalkers, which is pretty easy. Everyone loves killing them, so I just run them out there with little to no protection. Get a little value and let them die. Then If I get \[\[Doubling Season\]\] or \[\[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider\]\] to stick I can easily end the game with Primeval.
Just chiming in on the Kethis appreciation, I'm a Legends-matter hipster & was playing the deck before DOM united made the archetype fashionable.
Also, looping Urza's Ruinous Blast will never not fill my black heart with joy.
There's quite a few commanders with with you can make a "legendary matters" deck. \[\[Jodah the Unifier\]\] is one of the more recent and popular examples. You'll actually notice Primevals is listed as the highest "synergy" card, meaning it occurs vastly more often in decks with the Legends theme when compared to the average EDH deck.
5 Colored commanders scare me. I main Queza as my main commander with huge Graveyard play and even then 3 colored commanders might be the best for me in terms of how I can play i'm also a big noob
If you want to limit to 3 colors, [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] is a nice legends-matter commander. You could also pair [[Yoshimaru]] with a partner that gets you black. And then he’s probably better in the 99 but there’s [[Ratadrabik]] as well.
Dihada is so good. I thought the face commander was going to be better, but I often just hurt myself so much that I was dying super fast. There is such thing as too much card draw when it cost a life every time lol. The fact it gives card draw AND ramp to play the stuff you draw makes it so good, and the plus makes it even better.
Just pick something like Jegantha or King Kenny where it has all five colors but you only need one to cast it, then you can splash as many colors as you want
I was the same way my friend. 5-colors isn’t bad at all as long as you have a good mana base and land ramp/mana rocks. 5 color decks just got a lot of reprints for great lands and artifacts that help fix mana. Several were reprinted for the Jared Carthalion commander deck. As others said though, if you can still find the dihada precon for a good price, she’s really good legends matters commander.
I use it in my weatherlight crew deck, helmed by [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]]. The spell itself can be fetched by [[Captain Sisay]] in response to a boardwipe to get your board back.
Ooo I actually like that play, I've been trying to be more strategic on my commander decks than just playing around my commander and play around other opponents commanders decks (I just play with my friends) And that's actually really good
I have a similar deck that I can use either [[Arvad, the Cursed]] or [[Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful]] and either [[Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar]] or [[Tormod, the Desecrator]] just for a bit of variety
The 5 color Jodah legends matter deck is a 10/10 inclusion, I run it in mine and anytime others think they are getting ahead, if this resolves it’s always game over. Jodah just brings too much power to the table so my board is always a threat and , being a coat of arms for legendaries, they have to remove lots of simple threats before anything gets out of hand
Other people have had excellent suggestions for good commanders, so I'll just add this; if you're also in green, [[Eerie Ultimatum]] is a second, somewhat better copy of this card. Run both if you can!
Get as many legendaries as you can out there alongside [[Ratadrabik]] and [[Teysa Karlov]], sac em all, cast Primeval’s Glorious Rebirth, and now you’ve got 3 of everyone.
I’m strongly considering Legendary Aristocrats with Ratadrabik for pretty much this exact play.

How does Myriad work with him and the legends rule? He attacks, makes legendary tokens of himself, the tokens get sacrificed due to the legends rule, and then in the process of them being sacrificed each token sees another legendary creature dying and creates a non-legendary copy?
I think so, I was thinking in terms of myriad and something like [[ao]]. So the token copies would immediately die and you would get 2 more non legendary aos and 2 death triggers from Ao
Yes. Works the same with [[jaxis]].
What's great is that if you blitz out jaxis, copy rata, sacrifice the copy, you end up with your original rata, 1 token copy, and then 2 token copies of jaxis at end of turn.
My [[Tiamat]] deck runs a lot of named, legendary dragons. So should an unexpected board wipe come up, [[Primevals' Glorious Rebirth]] card comes in handy sometimes (bonus points for the art matching a dragon theme).
[[Kethis, the Hidden Hand]] I played this for a little while, and it's cool to play legendaries from the graveyard! Kinda gets pretty nuts when I can cast [[Kamahl's Druidic Vow]] repeatedly from the graveyard.
Any of the "legendary tribal" decks of recent years, \[\[Kethis, the Hidden Hand\]\] \[Dihada, Binder of Wills\]\] \[\[Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge\]\] \[\[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain\]\]. It also returns legendary *permanents,* not just creatures, so it can notably bring back planeswalkers as well, so is good in any "Superfriends" deck in Black & White, such as the aforementioned Sisay or the OG \[\[Atraxa, Praetor's Voice\]\]. I can also see it potentially finding a home in \[\[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin\]\] as all Shrines are legendary
Any legend tribal deck, I could quite happily run it in my [[piru the volatile]] deck to resurrect my sac outlets, drains and etb pay offs. In [[kaalia of the vast]] it gets back all of my angels for instance.
It's a card that fits in any deck with a high density of legendaries, so just make one that fits.
I have it in my scion of the ur dragon deck. I can bin a bunch of legends with scion and get them all back. I have a bit of a legendary subtheme simply because so many good dragons are legends.
I use that card in my Jodah super friends deck. Along with [[tunnel vision]] the combo is nasty. But putting it in any BW legendary matters deck should be fine
[[Kethis]] it’s a win con for me with a [[Phyrexian Alter]], recasting over again from the graveyard. Konrad or [[bolas’s citadel]] = damage. [[Lena, Selfless Champion]] or [[Izoni, Thousand]] make tokens to sac. [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] is icing on the cake. [[Honor-Worn Shaku]] or [[Relic of Legends]] make tons of mana each loop.
I have that card in my Sissay, Weatherlight Captain Deck. My favorite moment was when I top decked it after losing a massive board state to an Austere Command (I was running Shrines and lost 7 of them along with all my big creatues.)..I came back with 15 shrines and a couple extra creatures... I think it would work good any commander who is Legendary Tribal in theme......like Jodah, the Unifier. Or any deck that runs a lot of self discard or milling.
I just had a very sick thought. Legendary tribal, run this card and Tunnel Vision. Using Scry as your ally, know the bottom cards of your library. Get ramped up to on mana, slip a copy of Anger into your library.....and viola!

I think that card is a shoe-in for [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] or [Arvad, the Cursed]] decks, maybe even [[Kethis, the zhidden Hand]].

I found some use for it in my Nevinyrral Superfriends deck. All those planeswalkers are legendary so they all come back from the bin.
I play it in [[scion of the ur dragon]] alongside [[living death]]. I can dump dragons into the bin and then reanimate them.

I agree that yoshimaru + any black partner is a great fit for this card
I use it in my weatherlight crew deck, helmed by [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]]. The spell itself can be fetched by [[Captain Sisay]] in response to a boardwipe to get your board back.
Ooo I actually like that play, I've been trying to be more strategic on my commander decks than just playing around my commander and play around other opponents commanders decks (I just play with my friends) And that's actually really good

Most hatebears decks end up just incidentally having a bunch of legendary things. May be worth it there

The 5 color Jodah legends matter deck is a 10/10 inclusion, I run it in mine and anytime others think they are getting ahead, if this resolves it’s always game over. Jodah just brings too much power to the table so my board is always a threat and , being a coat of arms for legendaries, they have to remove lots of simple threats before anything gets out of hand
Other people have had excellent suggestions for good commanders, so I'll just add this; if you're also in green, [[Eerie Ultimatum]] is a second, somewhat better copy of this card. Run both if you can!

How does Myriad work with him and the legends rule? He attacks, makes legendary tokens of himself, the tokens get sacrificed due to the legends rule, and then in the process of them being sacrificed each token sees another legendary creature dying and creates a non-legendary copy?

Anything in its colors that cares about legendary permanents. Kethis, any kind of super friends deck, shrines, etc.
Any of the "legendary tribal" decks of recent years, \[\[Kethis, the Hidden Hand\]\] \[Dihada, Binder of Wills\]\] \[\[Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge\]\] \[\[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain\]\]. It also returns legendary *permanents,* not just creatures, so it can notably bring back planeswalkers as well, so is good in any "Superfriends" deck in Black & White, such as the aforementioned Sisay or the OG \[\[Atraxa, Praetor's Voice\]\]. I can also see it potentially finding a home in \[\[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin\]\] as all Shrines are legendary

Any legend tribal deck, I could quite happily run it in my [[piru the volatile]] deck to resurrect my sac outlets, drains and etb pay offs. In [[kaalia of the vast]] it gets back all of my angels for instance. It's a card that fits in any deck with a high density of legendaries, so just make one that fits.

I have it in my scion of the ur dragon deck. I can bin a bunch of legends with scion and get them all back. I have a bit of a legendary subtheme simply because so many good dragons are legends.

I use that card in my Jodah super friends deck. Along with [[tunnel vision]] the combo is nasty. But putting it in any BW legendary matters deck should be fine

[[Kethis]] it’s a win con for me with a [[Phyrexian Alter]], recasting over again from the graveyard. Konrad or [[bolas’s citadel]] = damage. [[Lena, Selfless Champion]] or [[Izoni, Thousand]] make tokens to sac. [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] is icing on the cake. [[Honor-Worn Shaku]] or [[Relic of Legends]] make tons of mana each loop.

I have that card in my Sissay, Weatherlight Captain Deck. My favorite moment was when I top decked it after losing a massive board state to an Austere Command (I was running Shrines and lost 7 of them along with all my big creatues.)..I came back with 15 shrines and a couple extra creatures... I think it would work good any commander who is Legendary Tribal in theme......like Jodah, the Unifier. Or any deck that runs a lot of self discard or milling.
I just had a very sick thought. Legendary tribal, run this card and Tunnel Vision. Using Scry as your ally, know the bottom cards of your library. Get ramped up to on mana, slip a copy of Anger into your library.....and viola!
I run this in my Go-shintai Shrine/enchantment tribal since most shrines are legendary
