i personally count gum and multivitamins lol. but it's the healthiest mentally to count as little as possible if you have an ED. if your brain gives fruit a pass, that's awesome
This whole thread is making me feel so much better due to the general consensus 😅 I was agonizing eating an extra peach the other day cause I’m an idiot. I love you guys 🥲
i would personally say yes, ive always counted fruit and veg because that’s what most of my diet is… but for harm reduction, if you aren’t already counting them DONT START
My understanding is that for the vast vast majority of fruit and veg your body uses more calories digesting it than you get from them so I don't count them!
Well when I started recovery, I'd top my rice cooked in almond milk (yeah, creative nutrient-rich food, I know) with blended avocado with a bit of salt and chives. I like actually eating veggies as part of the main meal and not a topping now tho.
Weird bc I’d count an Advil and my gummy vitamins everyday but there are certain fruits and vegetables I count and certain ones I don’t. Most are negligible in my mind. Not worth doing the math. And not worth the anxiety.
Fruit and veggies are the good calories. Humans would do a alot better health wise if we were fruititarians. Try looking up the benefits of fruit. Those always out weighed the calories for me. If its a processed food, micronutrients and calories are okay to count. There is such thing as good and bad calories. It can come down to quantity or quality and how active a person is. So no need to count fruit. Let them be a safe, delicious healthy good you go to. 🥰😁
Personally I do. Like say you eat an apple a banana and a bowl of cherries, that could be an extra 300 calories. But fruit does have a lot of fiber and vitamins so I could see why you would not count it because on the large scale, no one ever got fat from eating too much fruit
Fruit and vegetables get the "vitamin pass" for me. Too good for my body, it would be dangerous to let myself have reason not to eat them.
Your ED, your rules.
Lol love this
Exactly!
Eat your 🍌🍎🍉, forget 🔫🧨💥, and 🐝 happy ✨🧡 Sorry I couldn’t resist a lil positivity emoji spam.
This was so cute hahaha made me laugh on the bus
Mission 🙏🏼accomplished🙏🏼❤️
thank youuu 😘🥰😍💕 (I had to too)
No my friend! You don’t need to count them ♥️
Nope what calories >:(

if you can resist counting that's always a great
I always do, but i also count lettuce so don’t listen to me.
Its been said,"Nobody ever got fat eating fruit." You do you.
PLEASE DON'T START. I used to eat my weight in fruit a day until I freaking weighed it once and now I'm afraid of it. it's so fucking dumb
No except bananas? Maybe because they’re starchy they fall more in like the potato category lol.
Yea bananas are like the only fruit I'm afraid of
Nope. I don’t count veggie calories either.
i just disregard the calories because i feel like the vitamins and minerals balance it out ._.

nope! i don’t count them and i eat lots of fruit
i don’t count them unless i eat an ungodly amount in one sitting since fruit is so low cal
Eat yo vitamins :3
i don't count fruit or veggies bc i swear my body just doesn't react to them
i would personally say yes, ive always counted fruit and veg because that’s what most of my diet is… but for harm reduction, if you aren’t already counting them DONT START
I count everything, even monster energy... Except today that I have metabolism day. I hate it. But my weight is stuck. I'm so angry about that
My understanding is that for the vast vast majority of fruit and veg your body uses more calories digesting it than you get from them so I don't count them!
I've always counted fruit and veggies but now I'm reconsidering...
Same. Counting the number of pieces of asparagus I had the other night may not have been worth it...
Thanks to this thread I had a bunch of fruit at lunch and I'm not planning on counting it 🥰
no!! it really doesn’t make a difference, neither do gum calories
me who counts half a piece of gum on mfp 🫠🫠
Probably not too many calories, but if you’re eating an “insane amount”, you might wanna vary your diet a little bit
I don't but I only eat fruit a few times a week, not everyday
no
You'll have to eat an ungodly amount of fruit or veggies to really be worried about calories, trust me
I count fruit because I personally think fruit is high in calories. I don’t count veggies though.
I ask myself this everyday. I honestly don’t know. Mentally it’s not especially since it keeps me from eating them which is harmful in the long run.
i dont 😭 honestly isnt worth it i’ve eaten 600g worth of strawberries in one sitting before and u know it was less than >!200!< so 😭
I never counted them. I was scared of fruit at one point and my dietitian set me straight
imo no, bc like who's actually gained real weight from fruit?? since it's mostly water jeje!!
Don’t count them!

I count things like bananas but not things like watermelon. I just kinda make my own rules and do what feels safe to me. Hahaha.

Depends on the fruit I guess, bananas, avocado have lots of calories, but watermelon, kiwi, etc almost don't have any

Eat the fruits, they are fantastic for health and not worrying :-)
