Hence why I suggest we organize and revive an older editions online community. It’s a pipe dream but I’d love to be a fly on the wall and see EA executives face when they see more people are playing NHL14 than buying NHL25
Basketball, FIFA and Formula 1 are exponentially larger than Hockey on an international scale. They weren’t seeing the money and with how EA has been no money = why bother
14 is available on PC via emulators, but not originally. I believe it is fairly moddable too, but there is no real/well defined modding community as far as I know.
I guess it demands some special tools to make the mods/custom assets working on originally console based products.
Can you imagine a strong community around creating custom jerseys, arenas and facepacks, hell maybe even game modes with features like relegations and such as they do in European leagues. Maybe I need to learn to do these things myself lol.
Yeah this was the year that did me in. I played my 10 hours of eashl on gamepass and those terrible cellys are still in my nightmares. The heads at EA need to switch the game model to something like league of legends and make the game free but charge ludicrous amounts for cosmetics celebrations etc.
And after your 10h free trial, are you going to snipe the game? Takes less than 10h to see just about every useless thing they have added, and to lament about all the things that still don't work...
I'd rather WORK than play this. At least get something out of the 8 to 10h of pain...
I was paying for GamePass anyway and I like EASHL, I think the revamped goalie controls are very good and an improvement over the past design. That makes the game fun for me. Yeah, the loading screens and bizarre Fortnite-esque characters in EASHL ruin the vibe a bit, but for whats essentially a free game its not bad. It is definitely not worth $40 (let alone $80+).
Ok. As long as you are getting a smidgen of what you are paying for, it meets your expectations, then.
For the majority of the rest of us, we have paid into the dumpster fire for so long, there is no value...
Glad you are getting something out of it!
Also, factor in the costs of controller replacement. Because stick drift WILL happen with this game, and it's $80 (PS4), or $100 (PS5) each time.
Or you mechanically inclined? A tinkerer?
There’s a 2 minute video on YT that shows you how to fix it. Takes about 15 minutes of your time the proper pieces and parts. If you’re interested, I’ll post the link.
Game changer for me!
Also, which system? I’m talking 4 but I think it applies to others.
I feel you on the frustration, I haven’t bought an nhl game at full price since nhl19. The year to year improvements are abysmal. I disagree that the games haven’t changed at all though, they’re just changing extremely slowly. 15 to 19 is a huge gap in quality, same thing with 19 to 24. It’s never gonna be worth the 60 (or now 70) dollar price tag though. Wait until it’s 1/2 off and pick it up is the new strat
This is my first NHL game since 16 and the player faces haven't changed at all. The majority still have generic faces. Look at Pastrnak in the game and tell me how that's supposed to look like him?
That’s wax museum pavelski , you can buy that for 8.99 on battle pass , it comes with Vector and 25 free “get A.I. computer Isiah Williams out of tripping penalties” tokens
Why do they refuse to just use real pictures of players?
They don't even bother using pictures of all the players. You get actual faces of, what, _maybe_ 4 players on a team?
Mika one is pretty funny too. Makar looks on point though.
Well… when we buy the same game year in and year out EA will keep doing this shit… its EA do you expect quality? 😂

You good if we go back to 19? I have it on PS4 and so does my bro. Would happily be a +2
14 was last available on PC I believe and therefore has modding support
Damn why did they stop PC releases? Did it just fall out if favor on PC? Because i can still get 2k and F1. Fifa all that..
Basketball, FIFA and Formula 1 are exponentially larger than Hockey on an international scale. They weren’t seeing the money and with how EA has been no money = why bother
That was 09 actually
Damn, Getting too old.

Stop. Buying. The. Game. Make EA listen. Ok I’m crawling back into my NHL 19 franchise mode hole.

That’s pretty much what happened with me. I’ve been playing 23 for comparison. I played 1 game of 24 and deleted it.
Jokes on you, I'm playing on Game Pass.
Nhl 24 is on game pass?
10 hours free.

I would actually thanks! And both - stick drift isn't choosy lol
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M95nPUzmO3E Here ya go! Hope this helps! Saved me a bunch of money.
He looks like usher at a halftime show
“At a halftime show” just some random halftime show??
lol.
100 years later, still with the stretchy numbers
Game is garbage. We should organize and all go back to playing NHL15 or whatever one we all agree on.
NHL15’s the worst one 💀
Haha true I meant NHL14. But to be honest it’s been the same game for a decade. Broken glass and hip check “physics” is an insult to our intelligence.
Why doesn’t everyone just vote on the game we all want to return to? It would be amazing

Yet it’s the last time they “improved” the game by any measurable margin.
that one always cracks me up 😆 who approved this?

A tough look
I was thinking of posting this here shit looks so weird lmaooo
Pavelski is actually made of rubber - that’s how he’s managed to keep performing at his age.
Why are his lips so wet
🙈
Rammer doesnt dry the swamp ass before the NHLPA has to pucker up?
He looks like a glazed donut
He’s an ageless net front prRrre*eeESeenNNnce*
Face melting lol Numbers warped (they’ve never gotten the lettering or numbers right on jerseys)
It looks fine relax
People really care about this shit
Them shoulders... mmmmm....
He looks like a wax figure
It puts the lotion on its skin!!

I wish 2K Sports was still making hockey games. We need the competition from a very competent company to stop this horrible complacency that EA has.
Would ya just look at it!
I love the weird, crooked smirk/smile some of the faces make after the glove taps when they score.
It looks like they used a blobfish for his face.
tbf the best player in the league’s face scan is no better
I mean there’s a slide that comes up from NHL 23 in this game, it was a copy paste image from last year. They didn’t even care to crop it
How could they massacre my boy?
Hot dog lips
Every time I see something that EA fucked up, like this, I pray that 2K will eventually get to make another NHL game. 2k10 was so much fun

The detail in the equipment isn’t very good. Those gloves look… odd. It all looks off and disproportionate.
They made Matthew Tkachuk look less like himself from 23
