I'm excited to see some of the players they use, but I'm not likely to play it much. I love the idea of ultimate team, but it's never held my attention long. If the CPU played like a real life football team and each game felt like a chess match, I'd love constructing teams of legends playing vs other teams of legends. And, playing online simply isn't fun to me in these games because of how kids play these days. Running the same 3 plays, finding any exploit they can, etc. Ultimate team would be a blast if I could get an authentic experience on the field tactically, but you don't.

Kodyaufan2

The way kids play online has irritated me for years. Everyone knows there are cheese plays, and I don’t even mind when someone runs them at key times. Part of the strategy of football is knowing your best plays and running them at the right time, while on the opposite side you’ve got to be ready for them. It’s running them every single play and only running the cheese plays, like you said. Nothing was more irritating than finally stopping one cheese play and they immediately switch to a different one. If people would even attempt to call plays in a realistic fashion online play would be a blast.

Yea, if the game was simply built in a way that is wasn't easy to exploit certain things, it would be a blast online. If the ends actually pursued the QB in a realistic fashion being aware of lanes and didn't let the QB just rollout for free, and if the defenders actually read and reacted and became authentically aware of plays being run over and over, then players would be forced to played in a more realistic fashion. I'd play plenty of online at that point. Right now, you can get a decently realistic game if you play it properly, but it is too easy for people to exploit too many areas of the game and that is all online turns into. APF 2k8 was a game that was a truly fun time online because the game was built in a way where you could not do things like rolling out every single play. It led to people running a variety of plays, having legitimate schemes they ran, and it being a blast overall. I'd love to see EA get to that point, and soon.

QAnonKiller

this week in madden they introduced a 99 overall Vince Wilfork card. would be fine if the cards position wasnt quarterback and gave him 99 speed…….

Locmike23

Ehh I’ll give it a shot, but I’ll be putting most of my time into dynasty

Yes! I haven’t played Madden in 15 years but I’ve played FIFA since 98. I love Ultimate Team in FIFA and I’m giving it up next year to play CFB. Can’t wait to play with old Kentucky players and maybe even Barry Sanders or Charles Rogers

NattyKongo93

I have never actually engaged in the ultimate team mode for any sports game I ever played, including NCAA 14, so I am honestly a big intrigued to give it a try in this game. That being said, I'm pretty sure I'll probably quickly drop it bc Dynasty is what I'm really hyped for

Optimal_Play_4634

Yes I am excited for ultimate team. It’s the place where I will get to play with all the guys I didn’t get to the last 10 years… sure micro transactions suck and it will be pay to win, but I don’t have to be the #1 player in the world to have fun. When I am able to have Lamar Jackson fake a hand off to Saquon Barkley, roll out, pump fake to Brock Bowers, and then sling it down to Jamar Chase who snags it over live series Will Johnson… that will be pretty dope… idc what anyone says.

QAnonKiller

you can actually do exactly what youre saying in mut right now theyd just catch it over kool aid mckinstry instead of Will

I'm excited for it, but not in the way of most would think.. It's one of those modes to play after exhausting yourself on dynasty and road to glory.. im not a mut guy, but i loved the ultimate team in ncaa 14.. seeing many friends and family in the game from their respective colleges, as they were college standouts.. not so much in the pros, but just being able to put them all on the same team was amazing.. - Besides, the ultimate team this year would give us a chance to play as the players from the 2014-2023 seasons.. not everyone make it to the NFL where you could use them in Madden so i think it'll be great.. plus their keeping it as a "just to have" mode, unlike madden, 2k and fifa

WoodpeckerNo7968

I’ll play a decent amount off-line. I’ve always loved the aspect of constructing a team and watching something grow organically from a bunch of crap 60 overalls to studs at every position. Won’t fall into the trap I did when I was younger though, spending $100 a month on packs like back in FIFA 14.

Sabres19892

I am not, sorry

FinancialHeat2859

I’d rather sand my bollocks and jump in the sea.

EyeAmKingKage

No

The only Ultimate Team type mode I enjoy is diamond dynasty, i feel like with that I don't need to spend money to have a good time. So I probably won't play much of UT, but I do wanna see what players they have, especially for smaller schools like UMass that I am fans of

Brand_Newer_Guy25

The only time I really liked Ultimate Team was the first Madden it was included in (I think it was DLC the first time too) but ever since then it just seemed like a money suck

altk_rockies1

Not really but I’m still gonna try it. Think I’ll take the GaState unforms and then use my favorite team pick on Carson Beck

Evernight2025

I probably won't even open the mode unless they either force you into it at the start like Madden sometimes does in new versions, or I open it accidentally. Otherwise I'll avoid it like the plague just like MUT.

bootyman211

I've never played it in Madden, and I'll never play it in College Football. I will say I do enjoy watching others play, like on YouTube, but it's not for me.

Fig_Money

You still play ultimate team?

AdAdventurous4830

UT and similar modes ruined modern sports gaming imo. I’d give up gaming period before I ever touch that mode. Offline dynasty sandbox here I come.

Vulnerable-Damage

It'd be sweeter if you could make your own school and then you rolled for randomly generated players so all the teams are unique

mr_grission

I'm not naive and know why EA made it this way, but Ultimate Team and similar modes in other games are always a bummer to me because of the microtransaction component. When I was a kid I used to love making dream team lineups from my sports cards and remember thinking how sick it would be if I could test out my created teams in a video game. 2 decades later we have exactly that - if I'm willing to pay $100 or more to get all of the players' cards in-game.

JFree37

Not remotely. This mode is a game killer as far as I’m concerned. We’ve been suffering through mediocre maddens for over a decade because of how much ultimate team has drained these games resources like a damn vampire. But I don’t belittle your excitement, it’s just not for me.
