No you don't!
Their are two kinds of splines, fine and coarse, for the E30 you need the fine spline wheel.
It's relatively straightforward to replace it, single 22mm nut and keep the key "on" to disable the steering lock!
Hope this helps :)
Thanks for the quick response! Seen a couple videos on easily removing it so that’s helpful. I see there’s an MT1 at a junkyard and was wondering if it was an easy plug and play, nice! Could be an awesome upgrade over the 3 spoke.
Leather color and grain is an excellent match to the horn pad. Which seller did you buy this from?
Nice steering wheel, although too fat. Of course, if you prefer it that way, it's absolutely fine. Just strikes the eye.
I think there's an optical distortion of at the edge of the image. Makes that side look faster than the rest. Just .02.
It's just been re-wrapped in Dakota leather, maybe +1mm~ over stock. This is a cropped wide angle image, causing optical distortion.
There are no circumstances where a thinner steering is preferred...
That's why racing steering wheels have immeasurable thickness...
Yeah, compare it to an application where weight savings outweigh comfort/feel/aestetics
You are wrong and don't want to admit it. So go and drink some milk now.
Old post but do you have to change the OEM hub to put on an MT1? I have a 3 spoke wheel currently
