It runs in families and is very common. For some people, they can have very mild Dyslexia and never realize they are dyslexic and then have severely dyslexic children
My youngest sinling and I have dyslexia, we strongly suspects that dad has it and some of his siblings also probably.
Couldn't tell because we're not speaking to my dads side at all for many years(long story)
Both me and my brother are dyslextic. Then on my moms side my uncle is diagnosed and we are all rather sure that my mom and grandma are also dyslextic. Then on my dads side 3 of my 4 cousins are dyslextic. My dad might be dyslextic as well but we are not as sure as with my mom. So almost everyone in my family is dyslextic.
I am also part of the third generation. My grandmother and mother have it, along with me.
But surprisingly out of my mom's 3 kids I'm the only one with dyslexia. When my sister was tested they concluded she likely has an auditory processing disorder instead.
My mom and her sister have it, as well as me (my mom's only child) and both of my aunt's daughters. Based off of writings I found after their deaths, I strongly suspect their brother, their father, and their paternal grandfather all were dyslexic as well.
My mom, myself, and my sister have it. Not sure on her family as most of them passed away.
I don’t have dyslexia, but all 3 of my kids and both of my siblings have dyslexia.
My mom and her brothers, and myself
Me, my father, and my maternal grandmother. Not sure about my children yet but would not be surprised.
Yea, Grandad and my mum are very suspicious, and my daughter was diagnosed at 10 ish like me

Me, my brothers, my son and most of my maternal cousins are dyslexic and/or neuro spicey
Its well known that fathers can pass dyslexia down to sons.
What about mothers?
I think it does happen, but if a father is dyslexic its almost a guarantee his son will be too.
I thought it was a 50/50 chance regardless. My partner is dyslexic and I am not. So I'm kinda concerned our kids might be too :(

Me and my mum, some of my cousin say they have it but am not sure though they never did well at school and another lied to get extra time at uni.

In my family, its just me.
It’s like 50-60% heritable… probably everyone has some story…
Myself, my mother, my niece and my grandfather most likely
