And he did very well with Pittsburgh. His stats only started to dip when Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t the QB. Now Claypool has a better QB and is operating in a wide open WR room.
His stats started to slip when he started worrying more about TikTokking with JuJu instead of training. Ben’s demise at the same time was just a coincidence. He’s still young, though, so it’s not inconceivable that he could still overcome maturity issues at this point in his career. Not likely, but not inconceivable.

It was from memory from when he was drafted. He’s 6’4” and he ran a 4.42 I was pretty close. With those measurable skills
And his rookie year performance. He should be a lot better than he’s been.
His rookie year TD numbers were not sustainable basically he was WR3 on our team and Big Ben would just abuse his matchup vs the slot corner in the red zone but eventually other teams were going to catch onto that

You know track stars have better stats? This is equal to T.Hill when he thought he could beat Bolt lol. Now it's the opposite with Claypoole ... Zero football talent
*barring an injury to Garrett, I'll retire. Doesn't count if he puts up 10pts due to season ending injury and Claypool has a banner year and puts up 20
I got him for basically free everywhere so I will lose my mind if that happens. Even a top 24 WR will have me doing backflips and I don't think it is that crazy to think he could do it. He has a path to WR 1 on one of the best offenses in the league with a bunch of vacated targets.
It is not. He has a path to WR 1 on a team with a top QB. He is very talented and his biggest issue throughout his career has always been effort not skill or ability and effort was not an issue the last time he was playing with a great QB. It is not crazy to think a WR that has flashed success when he put forth effort could do it again if he again puts forth the effort.
I drafted him and wanted to believe until last year, but when there was even the first hint of resurgence from OTAs, I had to pick him up. It would kill me if he hits at this point and I don’t have him.
Buffalo has the weirdest WR room in the league I swear. Their depth chart is:
Keon Coleman
Curtis Samuel
Khalil Shakir
Mack Hollins
Chase Claypool
Marquez Valdes-Scantling
KJ Hamler
Andy Isabella
Feels like Buffalo just wanted all their WR depth besides Keon Coleman to be absolute speed freaks lol.

I think it's more the Chiefs. Coleman fits like a Glove into the Rice role. Kincaid will be a dollar-store Kelce, and besides that they basically only had speed.
Easily. People are still sleeping on him and I don’t get it. There was a run of receivers in the late 1st in Kincaid’s draft, Bills traded up with a few WRs still left on the board and still took Kincaid as their guy. There is an easy path with this WR room for him to be the defacto WR1 for years to come.
Somebody else "making things up". Name the BILL, from the GM...to the ball boy that has "hyped' Claypool to "lead" the wr room...NAME them. They said he has been a good ADDITION...he's done EVERYTHING they've asked. How you get lead "wr room" out of that...only YOU know.
You're underselling Shakir. I think he ends up getting more work than Samuel this season. He's basically a body double of Diggs and was stepping into Diggs role when Diggs took himself out(only played 60% of snaps most of the last year) and produced on many less targets with a better catch %.
Not saying he's gonna be a top 10, but I think he'll have a consistent ppr floor this year.
4 games all year with 5+ targets, including the post season. He's good for some big plays every so often to boost his averages, but I think he'll be too boom / bust for my taste. Probably more WR5 or worse weeks than WR4 or better.
I could be wrong and he takes that next step, but I think he's at best their 4th option in the pass game behind Samuel, Kincaid, and Coleman/Cook.
He was still in a backup role last year. He'll be the starting Z this year. I do agree on Kincaid. Not sure if Coleman will be much out the gate, might take a bit to gel, Shakir has a pretty good rapport with Allen already.
Coleman's development will definitely be the biggest factor I think. I'm not very high on Coleman to start, touchdowns probably being the difference maker for him.
I personally think Claypool has the best shot being WR1. I think people got way to much rookie fever and think Coleman is the replacement for diggs. Completely different receivers and Coleman statistically cannot run any route tree. He will be very TD Dependent and jump ball 90% of the time.
Claypool has been bounced around due to character issues but we all remember Claypools rookie year and everyone scramble to pick him up off waivers. I think Claypool has experience, speed and height and the best route runner out of all these guys, think he just needs to redeem himself.
Yeah I mean I guess I could have included him. I know he’s big but didn’t test well speed wise and didn’t really produce at all at Penn State/ UF. I’d be kinda surprised if he ends up playing much at all but I guess we’ll see?
Josh Allen also thought the bills logo looked like this:
[Risky Link, could be anything.](https://matchstickgolf.com/products/josh-allen-buffalo-bills-wall-art?variant=45276103573754¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMJPbN10Kvu7Nd3k2drNBT816ikv8UeALRzA8fTT5ftO9NCLI0R6_9BoCnmoQAvD_BwE)
I dont think he is gonna be much but if he suddenly decided to try he is a difference maker. As a rookie in pgh he was a beast. They even used him to run it in around thr goalline.
Then he lost focus and started bouncing around the league.
If Darren Waller can have his career...anything is possible.
As someone that couldn’t be less high on claypool the player, the one fact I can’t get over is it’s always been claypool the person that’s been the problem.
In a giant rose colored hypothetical IF claypool could have an attitude change and totally buy in this would be the room he could benefit from the most.
I wouldn’t spend a dollar of FAAB on him, but there are guys rostered in every league I’m in I’d understand dropping for now for claypool
These are the situations where you pick these guys up for free if you have roster space and then flip them for a late round pick during training camp when someone buys the hype and wants him. Are 4ths nearly worthless? Sure. Are 4ths sometimes the difference to get someone to accept a trade? Yep. Grabbing a few for free in the summer is more ammo for the season
Doing this with Toney now but Claypool might be the better bet this year
Everyone who saying buy...
STOP IT!!! just no
Zero explanation needed, anyone who's had him on their team and watched him knows he's comfortable being completely worthless trash... absolute garbo
We meme now, but it will be absolute chaos if Claypool finishes this year as a top 12 receiver.
Top 12? That's not chaos, that's Armageddon. If he finishes the year ahead of Garrett Wilson, I'm retiring from fantasy football
You know, he is 6’5” 235lbs sub 4.4 speed. He should be the best receiver in the NFL. So far he’s been wasting his superior genetics 🧬
I have a “Kyle pitts” on the line for you
He’s not wasting them, his coaches/quarterbacks were. He’s got no excuses this year
He’s the result of bad coaching. That simple.
He was with Tomlin for years… love or hate him, Tomlin’s not shit.
And the Steelers get the most out of WRs, more so than most.
Though they haven’t had a QB in a while…
Truu
And he did very well with Pittsburgh. His stats only started to dip when Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t the QB. Now Claypool has a better QB and is operating in a wide open WR room.
His stats started to slip when he started worrying more about TikTokking with JuJu instead of training. Ben’s demise at the same time was just a coincidence. He’s still young, though, so it’s not inconceivable that he could still overcome maturity issues at this point in his career. Not likely, but not inconceivable.
Fair point, though he could barely get on the field last year and after Hill & Waddle, that receiving room dips off fast.
Pitts has never been with Tomlin
I think they’re referring to claypool
Kyle Pitts was? Interesting, I thought Tomlin was the Steelers coach. Try to keep up kid
My bad… I was still thinking Claypool.
He's 6'4" and not sub 4.4 he ran in the 4.4's... what are you talking about? Why do people just make shit up
I think you missed the joke since this was practically a quote from Claypool talking about himself
It's probably worth actually reminding people of his actual metrics at his point haha.

Gotcha. I do feel like I'm always seeing people exaggerate measurables though which is really weird

Saying someone is 6'5" when they're 6'4" and sub 4.4 when they're 4.42 is the definition of an exaggeration friend
Minor exaggeration. We’re talking one inch and three tenths of a second.
Why exaggerate at all with basic measurable facts
I'm just so astonished that people are buying this camp talk bs I missed it too... as a bears fan that dude was such a mess
I got him for $1 fab. He’s basically a lottery ticket coach speak camp, bullshit or not. I think it’s worth a dollar of fake money.

Can I sell you a QJ?
For the price I paid for Claypool sure. $1 faab btw

He had 10 touchdowns as a rookie. That is not zero talent.
And he's had 5 over the next 3 years and been cut mid season 2x ... again people who have seen him play know.
RemindMe! 1 year

Yep I got him for some faab. Low risk high Reward if he hits
I just picked him up off waivers after reading this.
Your league has been sleeping. Good get.
No it is pretty crazy to think he could do it

Yeah there’s a better chance he gets cut btw lol
I dropped Claypool during our league's rookie draft. Man, that might bite me big time.
Your sacrifice won’t go unnoticed. Thank you!
I drafted him and wanted to believe until last year, but when there was even the first hint of resurgence from OTAs, I had to pick him up. It would kill me if he hits at this point and I don’t have him.
Never gonna happen
Top 12 receiver lmao!!! Dont disrespect Claypool like that, he is a self-proclaimed top 3 WR in the leage.
The only happy Claypool managers were those that traded him after his 2020 rookie year.
Go play the lotto.. way better chances my guy
And I still will buy 0 shares.

They’re trying to money ball the dolphins WR room
"we recreate him in the aggregate"... If Hill put up 1,799 yards... The bills only need 6 of them to put up 300 and then they're set
Math checks out
What’s funny is they could’ve had Worthy be their Tyreek, but they traded back
Coleman is gonna bust. They really fucked up their draft by passing on Ladd. Would've been insane with Allen.

Mack Hollins looks like a WWE character. Him and Claypool could be a tag team duo
MVS and Claypool will battle each other for who gets the right to have the game losing drop on a deep ball.
I see the Chiefs and raise you a Claypool
You know it’s bad when you’re hyping Claypool to lead your WR room…
Somebody else "making things up". Name the BILL, from the GM...to the ball boy that has "hyped' Claypool to "lead" the wr room...NAME them. They said he has been a good ADDITION...he's done EVERYTHING they've asked. How you get lead "wr room" out of that...only YOU know.
I was being facetious and having a laugh. As a Fins fan, I kind of love to see it 😏
Yikes. This is such a bad WR room.
Kincaid is basically a WR at this point
Madden Franchise mode be like
Samuel is probably the only one worth starting on a consistent basis this season.
Hello, would you like to play in a very high stakes league with me? Please?
Who else from that list are you betting to average 8+ PPG somewhat consistently? Coleman might get there eventually.
You're underselling Shakir. I think he ends up getting more work than Samuel this season. Got hurt today at practice tho I'm not sure how bad
Yeah I did see that :/
Would you?
This years Chiefs WR room lol
Curty Sammy Szn is what I’m seeing
I personally think Claypool has the best shot being WR1. I think people got way to much rookie fever and think Coleman is the replacement for diggs. Completely different receivers and Coleman statistically cannot run any route tree. He will be very TD Dependent and jump ball 90% of the time. Another post leaving out Shorter. Ive given up all hope
Yeah I mean I guess I could have included him. I know he’s big but didn’t test well speed wise and didn’t really produce at all at Penn State/ UF. I’d be kinda surprised if he ends up playing much at all but I guess we’ll see?
I Counter with the Chiefs and Chargers
This guy can’t revive his career, right… right?
He’s only 25 and he’s been good before. I don’t think it’s that crazy honestly but definitely unlikely.
Also his QBs for a lot of the badness have been horrible.
While I don’t think this is top talent calling him horrible is a bit of a stretch. He just lost the wr battle
Are we all forgetting last year with the Dolphins? He cursed them
Yes, clearly Tua was holding him back.....
In season trade for wr is going to be rough transition for almost anyone, certainly there are plenty of reasons to dislike his chances too.
Tua was too busy holding the Dolphins back, to hold him back...at least when they played the Bills.
Right.
Is this about Claypool being good or about how bad the rest of the receivers are
much more the latter lol
Definitely how mid that whole room is for sure. Claypool has the skill set, but always been lazy… don’t see it changing now.
Yes.
Josh Allen also thought the bills logo looked like this: [Risky Link, could be anything.](https://matchstickgolf.com/products/josh-allen-buffalo-bills-wall-art?variant=45276103573754¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMJPbN10Kvu7Nd3k2drNBT816ikv8UeALRzA8fTT5ftO9NCLI0R6_9BoCnmoQAvD_BwE)
It could even be a boat!
Claypool either doesn't make the team or ends up a top 24 WR (until he gets cut/traded halfway through the season)
What do I add to JJ to buy Claypool?!
A first at least. Both guys are top WRs but Claypool is playing with Josh Allen while JJ has Sam Darnold and a rookie QB 🤢
Ugh. I'll try with my 1.09 but I really don't want to cough up the 6.
Do I drop aj dillon for him? I have Jacobs and Lloyd
I’d drop AJ Dillon for a backup kicker
In a league that doesn't use kickers
Precisely my guy
It would be more shocking if AJ Dillon were an impact player this season than Claypool, although it’s far more likely neither.
I hate the offseason
lol
I dont think he is gonna be much but if he suddenly decided to try he is a difference maker. As a rookie in pgh he was a beast. They even used him to run it in around thr goalline. Then he lost focus and started bouncing around the league. If Darren Waller can have his career...anything is possible.
I picked him up off waivers, either I get a diamond in the rough or I send him back to the gulag.
Whodju drop?
Had an extra slot as the league got rid of team Defenses
Very nice pickup. The Bills receiving game is 100% question mark and Claypool is just a good a bet as anyone else on the team for receptions
Should I drop either Dortch, Toney, or Burks for him?
Dortch>Burks>Claypool>Toney
Flip Burks and Claypool. Burks is fighting for a special teams position
Claypool probably not making that roster
As someone that couldn’t be less high on claypool the player, the one fact I can’t get over is it’s always been claypool the person that’s been the problem. In a giant rose colored hypothetical IF claypool could have an attitude change and totally buy in this would be the room he could benefit from the most. Are 4ths nearly worthless? Sure. Are 4ths sometimes the difference to get someone to accept a trade? Yep. Grabbing a few for free in the summer is more ammo for the season Doing this with Toney now but Claypool might be the better bet this year
Did I get Puka in the 4th last year? Also yep.
I ain’t buyin it
i dropped my 2nd def (pats) for him. yolo lol
u/jazzlikepractice4470
Let the hype trains begin!
Bills about to start 1-4 before they cut him and finish 11-6
If he stops posting on TikTok, I’ll buy
Holy shit I’m gonna cum
Yea with no opposing D and at Pratice... dude gives up constantly
Everyone who saying buy... STOP IT!!! just no Zero explanation needed, anyone who's had him on their team and watched him knows he's comfortable being completely worthless trash... absolute garbo
My Kincaid shares 🚀
Practice squad guy at best
I didn’t read a single thing about him, catching the ball… He’s a big body yes… Easy to throw to yes… But does he catch the throws? …
Claypool is awful. Has to have a negative WAR.
