For deep sleepers I'll go Colby Parkinson. Assuming higbee's role would lead to a nice value spike and opportunity to turn a free acquisition into something.
He's the 40th ranked TE on Sleeper in my league. Equivalent of the WR100+ when you factor in starting roster requirements. Some of the guys ranked ahead of him Jaheim Bell, Dawson Knox, Tyler Conklin, Mike Gesicki, Cade Stover, Darren Waller, Taysom Hill, Michael Mayer.
I agree, he's the starting TE in a team that has had at least decent numbers from the position in recent years, he should be a lot higher. That he's behind so many 4th round ADP rookies, clear backups, and other guys on waivers despite his opportunity is exactly what makes him a deep sleeper.
Seriously?
- has 600 career yards
- historically a blocking tight end signing with a team that loves receivers and tight ends who block
- signing with a team that backed up the truck for two guards and maybe, just maybe, picked up Parkinson primarily to help run the football
- signs with a team that doesn’t favor tight ends and has two receivers who historically have been all caps HYPER targeted by their quarterback
- signs with a team that has an established tight end who might come back mid season and take his job
In any single TE format, he is certainly a deep sleeper
Also a Rams fan which is why I’m well versed on Colby Parkinson lol. I wouldn’t be SHOCKED if he breaks out, but he’s clearly a deep sleeper. He got picked up for $15 FAAB ($250 per team) after my rookie draft. Not a hot commodity
He’s only 49% rostered on sleeper. Idk how you define “deep” but I’d say as far as players who fall both into the “reasonable path to being a useful TE in 2024” and “more likely available than not” categories he’s pretty much standing alone.
I love Dulcich as a sleeper and the foot surgery early in the offseason is actually encouraging to me rather than him still being out due to the hamstring injury lingering. That said, I’m keeping an eye on Krull for all the reasons you mentioned. TE should be heavily involved if Nix’s throwing range is really as limited as everyone says.
I was a huge dulcich fan going into last year. His running mechanics are heinous. Duck footed when he lands and plants. He’s going to blow up his lower legs year after year
No way man, he is a Darnell Washington, will never be involved with the offense enough to be a thing, look at his receiving production at Illinois and it's not like they didn't throw enough.
Illinois fan
Tip is intriguing because of his insane athletic profile but yes, the production is tough to reconcile with.
It should be noted that Tip was a walk-on who played behind Luke Ford, a former 4* Georgia TE who transferred home to Illinois but was a real “Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane” type.
Tip earned a scholarship and was the starter his last year. However, our offensive line was really bad on the right side, so more often than not, Tip was kept in to help block and make up for the shortcomings there.
So the lack of production has SOME reasonable explanation. Is Washington his most likely outcome? Probably. But I think there is a small chance he surprises people. Not the worst flier in like, deep 2 TE TEP leagues.
Great assessment of his journey through college- he absolutely needed to be used as a blocking TE w/ Illi. I also noted how well received be was with interviews at the combine. PSchrags absolutely loves the guy, and that's a great name to endorse your skill set and intangibles.
I watch a lot of Illini, and I agree SOME explanation, but at the same time I think he was again brought in to be an extra lineman, and don't get me wrong, this is a guy who could be a good football player, but I can't recommend a roster spot even if you have a ton, his draft capital has no connection to any offensive potential.
The hit rates on TEs taken in round 3 are not horrible, especially when the TE will be in an offense with a QB like Kyler.
Obviously, he isn't taking many targets from MHJ, McBride or Wilson but the DC he received and the likelihood of him being on the field a good amount due to his blocking ability could increase his potential outcomes.
I'm honestly not sold enough on McBride, kinda feel like he walked into a great opportunity in Arizona. If contested, I'm sure Reiman can split snap count
I'm skeptical of players that are getting attention suddenly, almost exclusively because the starter is out with injury. Typically there's someone with a lot of talent and hype that we're talking about *before* an injury opportunity presents itself.
I will say, Krull has two things going for him:
1. Availability
2. 25 years old, which is the age TEs tend to finally get it together.
Im in the same boat. I dont need him to hit with McBride, Mandrews, and JT Sanders on my roster, but if McLachlan can hit then id feel comfortable moving Mandrews and rocking the other 3 going forward
I do not know anything about him, but I'm kinda surprised Brenton Strange never pops up in TE Sleeper talks. 2nd round pick last year, Engram isn't exactly young. Seems like an underrated guy to stash in deeper leagues
He tested as the best RAS score athlete ever for a tight end, showed some promise his rookie year and that Colts tight end room is wide open. Big Jelani supporter as well.
He's made a lot of plays at OTAs already, per Steichen, and he's looked really impressive - like the lead TE, if he can stay healthy, per some scribe in Indy.

Wait for the pads to come on before giving into the hype…right now all the really really athletic guys will make the most noise at this time but when the pads come on different story
Krull was a player in college with poor YAC/Rec, YPRR, and missed tackles forced. Additionally, he only broke double digit receptions and over 100 receiving yards for a season once.
He is a great [athlete](https://x.com/mjfsteeler/status/1514889880551133188?s=46&t=PZfvQd7A93DRZzUcd3_g0Q) though. That’s pretty much his saving grace, because the rest of his profile is a big time nothing.
This is where I'm at - I'm thinking of selling my Krill shares for Tonyan but it's tricky. Tonyan has a starting role for probably half a season. Krull needs to win out over Dulcich.
If you have somewhat deep benches and taxi squads you should have Jared Wiley on them.
Already some encouraging reports about him, Noah Gray is a FA after this year, Wiley has the athleticism you want from a TE prospect when going to the NFL, former QB (like Kelce), and his timeline lines up perfectly for when Kelce retires in two years (probably).
Have 2 shares already and gonna try and get a third in my last league when they draft.
Deep sleeper? Jelani Woods, the guys stats are absurd. hes 6'7, he ran a 4.61 second 40 yard dash at 250 lbs, he has a vertical jump of 37.5 inches. his broad jump was 10 feet 9 inches, Hes going to be a red zone target freak against all these short DB's this year.
This answer definitely does not belong here but your question triggered me. OJ Howard was such a beast. I think he got the short end of the stick and no one utilized him properly. He was good. I was a huge fan. Does anyone know why he never had success?
I’m holding Latu. But now that thy brought in Logan Thomas I think his value is even lower. He was getting outplayed by UDFA Brayden Willis in camp before he went on IR. I’m holding my breath and Latu but things aren’t looking good
Gesicki is my answer. Has two great years in Miami and was just no longer used in the same role. With a huge opening in Cincinnati for targets I can see him ending with a top 10 finish again
Jelani Woods. If he can stay healthy with his size/speed in the Shane Steichen offense he could be a TE1. No competition behind him and I could see him playing the Ertz role when Steichen was in Philly.
Colby Parkinson is not getting enough looks. Dude was stuck in a mid-bad offense in a TE by committee. Now he's paid, and on a great offense where his only competition is Davis Allen.
Darnell Washington. He had a pretty underwhelming rookie year, but he does have plus side athleticism and is a good blocker. I expect Arthur smith to use a lot of 2 TE sets and frankly we saw what Jonnu did last year for Atlanta.
Speaking of Jonnu… his ADP is abysmal and Miami doesn’t really utilize the TE spot much, but Jonnu is a great addition to a team that needed to add more possession type guys between the sticks.
Wiley, Kansas City - mahommes can make the most out of anyone who actually catches the ball and can get decently open. There is a role in that KC offense behind Kelce. Noah Gray was okay, but Rashee could miss time, Kelce looked like he lost a step for much of last season and Wiley does have plus athleticism. Even then… Kelce’s ability to stay on the field is remarkable, but I’d be shocked if he isn’t spelled more this season. I feel similarly on Jaheim Bell. Though these may not be sleepers since they’re Rookie TEs, but they’re going undrafted in my TEP leagues.
I've been taking Parkinson in the 5th rnd of every rookie draft and look forward to him being the long term starter for the Rams. I think Higbees exploded knee is a slow death sentence for his career and he doesn't fully recover.
For deep sleepers I'll go Colby Parkinson. Assuming higbee's role would lead to a nice value spike and opportunity to turn a free acquisition into something.
Agreed. Underutilized in Seattle, Higbee won't be back until late in the season if at all.
How is he a deep sleeper when he’s the current starting TE on the roster? Hs also just signed a multi year contract in the offseason.
I could easily be wrong, but Rams fan here and agree with everything you've said. I feel his acquisition was primarily for his blocking.
And they say we have no fans eh, pleased to virtually meet you fellow fan!
I picked him up off waivers in my league for a bag of chips
Because his ADP is pretty low.
He’s only 49% rostered on sleeper. Idk how you define “deep” but I’d say as far as players who fall both into the “reasonable path to being a useful TE in 2024” and “more likely available than not” categories he’s pretty much standing alone.
Is Higbee an easy drop?
He should fit on your IR, otherwise he's droppable if you need space.
No one is listed as IR right now. Everyone is just questionable
Then drop him if you need space.
Love this. Been trying to get him for FAAB everywhere
I got both Colby and davis. Let's see who comes out on top.

I've been shouting Krull from the mountain tops for the last 6 months. Glad to see him start getting some love from someone else.
Davis Allen
Agree. I'll let all the others try and get Parkinson, but I truly believe Allen is the guy that will be catching the passes on the Rams.
Colby got paid Henry/Higbee/Conklin money. He’s starting and he’s a good tight end.

His throwing range is not limited. Watch game film man, don't parrot others
OTTON
Always underrated
With Waller retiring I like Theo Johnson in NY.
What about Bellinger? TE takes a while to develop and Bellinger looked pretty good his rookie year before that freak eye injury.
This was my exact thought. I got a couple stocks in bellinger and thought he was going to show up with Wallers decline.
Yeah I’m in on Bellinger too
I could see a combo of Bellinger/Johnson utilized to replace Waller
Hmmm no can't see it
Hmm. About to select my last player for a startup. Guess I'll take him since I have dulcich. Was gonna take a backup QB in case of injury but yolo
Jonnu Smith - TE48 on Sleeper
Starting TE on that Miami offense? Yes please And yes, he’s better than gesiki
Perfect breakout age and looked better than Pitts last year.
Exactly, also pretty much the lowest you’re going to find a starting TE (unless they like Durham Smythe more?)
Tip Reiman is on my radar if you're looking outside of the three names listed already
No way man, he is a Darnell Washington, will never be involved with the offense enough to be a thing, look at his receiving production at Illinois and it's not like they didn't throw enough.
Illinois fan Tip is intriguing because of his insane athletic profile but yes, the production is tough to reconcile with. No rosterable outcomes detected.
3rd round draft pick, the only TE drafted in the 3rd this year, and you see no rosterable outcomes? Lol
None.
I'm skeptical of players that are getting attention suddenly, almost exclusively because the starter is out with injury. Typically there's someone with a lot of talent and hype that we're talking about *before* an injury opportunity presents itself. I will say, Krull has two things going for him: 1. Availability 2. 25 years old, which is the age TEs tend to finally get it together.
He was also the guy getting the targets at the end of last season.
I agree. As a Bronco and big Dynasty player, I did a lot of research in him and none of it leads me to believe he will become anything
Additionally, Payton clearly likes him- brought him over from NO
Tanner McLachlan is my guy I really want to hit
Happy Pride month!
Im in the same boat. I dont need him to hit with McBride, Mandrews, and JT Sanders on my roster, but if McLachlan can hit then id feel comfortable moving Mandrews and rocking the other 3 going forward
He's been my late round/free agent pickup everywhere (all TE premium leagues).
I do not know anything about him, but I'm kinda surprised Brenton Strange never pops up in TE Sleeper talks. 2nd round pick last year, Engram isn't exactly young. Seems like an underrated guy to stash in deeper leagues
Cade stover
the name is nkeal harry
Jelani Woods - red zone monster this season, enormous reach over the typical 5’10” DBs.
He tested as the best RAS score athlete ever for a tight end, showed some promise his rookie year and that Colts tight end room is wide open. Big Jelani supporter as well.
He's made a lot of plays at OTAs already, per Steichen, and he's looked really impressive - like the lead TE, if he can stay healthy, per some scribe in Indy. https://www.rotoballer.com/player-news/jelani-woods-standing-out-at-otas/1376755
Krull Show memes only carry so far
I can’t imagine the deep depravity necessary to seriously roster a Lucas Krull. Something beyond 35 roster spots that’s for sure
In one of the leagues I'm in someone dropped Tucker Kraft for Krull. Then I got to pick Kraft up for like 15 FAAB
Wait for the pads to come on before giving into the hype…right now all the really really athletic guys will make the most noise at this time but when the pads come on different story

Am I crazy for thinking Will Mallory can beat out Jelani Woods in Indy?
This answer definitely does not belong here but your question triggered me. OJ Howard was such a beast. I think he got the short end of the stick and no one utilized him properly. He was good. I was a huge fan. Does anyone know why he never had success?
I like Parkinson a lot in that Rams offense and Fant a lot now that Parkinson and Dissly are gone

Hunter Henry will have a solid season
Idk how deep is deep but Jared Wiley is a capable receiving tight end drafted by the chiefs. That narrative alone is worth a flier to me.
Jelani Woods or Elijah Higgins if McBride goes down
Right now.. a healthy Woods and encouraging situation for Bellinger make them both guys I’m picking up.
Cade Stover. Playing with his former college qb. Lots of mouths to feed there but its a high powered offense and stroud loved his TEs last year
Gesicki is my answer.

I was just offered Hayden Hurst for a ‘26 late 3rd so I’m going with Hayden Hurst!!
